Simply put, Eric Larsen is great, his staff are friendly and knowledgeable and they go the extra mile. I’ve been coming here since I was a child, and I now have my family coming here as well.

I had been coming to Larson Dental for a few years. Upon changing jobs and insurance, I had asked if my new insurance was still covered, Tammy at the front desk said that she would check and get back to me.After a cleaning, I was told that I was in need of 6 fillings which I agreed to have done. However, I never received a quote and paid $180, thinking that they had already spoken with my insurance.A few weeks later, I received a bill over $1,200 in addition to the $180 that I had already paid.My insurance was not in their network, yet they were unable to figure that out before giving me a complete lie of a quote, despite scheduling the procedure two weeks in advance.I tried working with them to get a more reasonable bill since they failed to verify my insurance before the procedure and also the failed the day of the procedure to inform me that my insurance was not in their network.I am not in a place to financially handle unexpected bills like this and I am very disappointed in the service that I received and how I was blatantly lied about my coverage and expected costs for the procedure.I never had any issues with their office before, but after this experience, I could never recommend this office to anyone.I would recommend an office that is upfront, cares about their patients, and actually knows their own insurance network.

I am confused how this dentist has such high rating, though it seems they offer free cleanings in exchange for 5 star reviews. My past experiences were absolutely atrocious. He had zero bed side manner. He was constantly late to my first morning appointments and even went as far as to MOCK me when I expressed the need to be to work on-time after the 3rd time it happened. I started crying and when he left the room, the dental assistant apologized to me on his behalf and said that his behavior has been unprofessional towards other clients too.He fixed a small chip in my tooth with a veneer (I was later told it couldve been fixed with a composite filling after I showed the before and after pictures to the next dentist), but not before grinding my entire tooth into a pointy nub before adhering the veneer. The veneer I paid $1000 for was yellowish (I bleached with a kit I bought from them BEFORE the color was taken, per their instructions) and did not match my other tooth whatsoever based on color, shape and it was completely opaque. My teeth have a natural transparency and ombre effect to them. The mismatch was totally noticeable and looked awful. Dr. Larson refused to correct the issue without charging me another $1000. I had it re-done by a wonderfully ethical, COMPETENT dentist whos lab was able to match my other tooth perfectly. People are shocked when I tell them I have a veneer on my front tooth because it looks so natural.Lastly, I had a root canal and crown. He gave me a numbing injection IN THE NERVE of my tooth....stuck the needle straight into the decayed part of the tooth and into the nerve, rather than along the outside of the gums like every other dentist. It was so incredibly painful that I screamed. The crown he put on has no natural shape to it. Its shaped like a half-pipe for skateboarding and doesnt fit with the tooth below it. It is also too small so I have an annoying gap in-between the crown and my other tooth and food get lodged in there constantly. I wont even chew on that side because of it.Dr. Larsen is hands down the worst dentist I have ever had and I would steer clear of him if you know whats good for you. To this day, I am still upset by how I was treated and the poor quality of work I received.

I had a great experience at Larson Dental. I am not one to go to the dentist and have not been for a long time. They are great! Friendly staff was very nice and professional to deal with. Kristina is a great hygienist. Explained all my dental issues in detail. They care about what they do and who they provide service to.

I went in for a toothache. The office was kind enough to get me in quickly. Dr Eric Larson was gentle and understanding about my problem. With different exams, probing and X-rays I felt comfortable enough to agree to have tooth extracted as it was fractured and no way to save it. I’m so glad I trusted his talent, work and hands to pull it out with no pain as he gave me a good anesthesia and I have not felt a thing. I am a happy patient 😄😄😄😄😄

Dr Larson is awesome. I went in thinking I would need alot of dental work done..crowns, root canals ect..he was so honest and conservative. His assistant is fabulous and fun to talk to. The office staff was super friendly as well...I love this office. It was a really good experience.

Dr. Larsen is an amazing dentist with an incredible staff. Normally going to the dentist is a little unnerving but not with him. His hygienist is so gentle that having your teeth cleaned is a treat. The dentist and all of the dental assistants I have dealt with are very nice. My only complaint about this office is the receptionists. I know one of their names are Tammy and I’m not sure about the other one. Every time I’ve ever called that office over the years they have answered the phone and been extremely rude. They always seems annoyed when you ask a question and they talk in a rude tone of voice. I just think it’s unfortunate that the only reason I have to complain about this establishment is because of the receptionists. I don’t appreciate being treated as a nuisance every time I call to verify an appointment or to make a payment. They have made me want to take my business elsewhere.

Ive been a patient for many years. Although its no longer close to where I live, I continue there because my dental hygienist, Doug, is fabulous, Tammy at the front desk is wonderful, and everyone else I interact with is friendly and competent. We work well together to keep my oral health at its best.

Christina Nolan is the best dental hygienist I’ve ever had in my 46 years of life. I have a lot of tartar buildup on my lower teeth and she is so gentle with her dental tools.

I was called back on time after filling out my new patient paperwork and they had temperature checks for COVID at the front desk. Both Kristina and Dr. Larson were thorough in their work and took the time to make sure any questions I asked were answered. I would highly recommend this office to a friend and will be coming back!

My husband and I have been coming here since I moved to SLC a few years ago. Everyone is kind and courteous. The dental hygienist doesn’t even try to talk to me when they have their hands in my mouth, which is the most ideal situation for me.I struggle with absolutely terrible dry mouth due to (relatively) new medical condition and Dr. Larson not only called in a prescription to a compound pharmacy for a special dry mouth lollipop, but also did some preventative work so that dry mouth wouldn’t do as much damage to my oral health. I had never had a filling before this and they made the process as tolerable as something like that can be.

Dr. Eric Larson has been our family dentist for 13 years. His staff are always kind and attentive. My kids love going to his office because the hygienists know how to set them at ease (and they get to pick a treasure out of the treasure box when they are done.) Dr. Larson feels like a family friend who is always fun to go visit and we get our teeth taken care of at the same time. We highly recommend Larson Dental!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Eric Larson for over 20 years and every time I go in, they are always so pleasant, professional, and they do a fantastic job! My families teeth are their priority and it shows!

As most, I am not fond of dentists but I find Dr. Larson is good art what he does. Quick, efficient, and kind. Also fixes issues that might arise without hesitation. His assistant is sweet and funny. She really tries to make you feel comfortable and relaxed.

I had a dental cleaning at Larson Dental and I am very satisfied. I waited a minute or two in the waiting room before the hygienist called me. I like that they just didnt sit me in a dentist chair for 20 minutes like so many dentists do. I was taken care of right away. The hygienist was friendly and took her time to do the cleaning thoroughly. At the end, Dr. Larson checked on me and ask me if I had any question. Nice guy too. Next thing, I was on my way home, smiling with my shiny and squeaky clean teeth, holding a bag of dentistry related freebies.

I have been going here since I was a child and have always been treated with fantastic dental work.I was born missing 10 permanent teeth which meant that I didnt lose a tooth until I was 8, and it also meant that I needed extensive dental work to have a normally functioning mouth. And if it wasnt for these guys Id bet that all of my treatment would have been far more expensive, but they worked hard to make it as easy on me as possible.10/5

His office Ladies are always willing to go the extra mile for there patients, I have witnessed the office manager offer to comfort unhappy babies so the mother can get her dental needs met! If there was a way to rate with ZERO stars that would be our rating. My advise....STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS INCOMPETENT DENTIST AND HIS LACK OF INTEGRITY!We started going here before it was bought by Larson. We were very happy with the work.Then Larson bought the practice and then the problems started:First there was a billing problem, and I told them very clearly we did not want any more appointments until I was sure that my insurance would pay. I was promised in front of Eric Larson that if the insurance did not pay I would not owe any money. They did work that they knew my insurance would not cover, even after they knew that the insurance would not cover it. I told them again I wanted to wait to get my insurance situation resolved and they assured me again that if there were any charges that the insurance would not pay, that they would not charge me for them; that they would eat those costs.Second - there were some procedures that were not finished by the original doctor and so we went back. Dr Larson did procedures that were not related to the issue we had returned for, and which also seemed unnecessary. It seemed he was doing work just so that he could bill for the return service. To make matter worse, the work that he did compromised the original work and those in my family that had work done by him will have to go to someone else and have the entire procedures redone!Now he is threatening to take us to collections. I reminded him, through his billing clerk of the original promise. HE DID NOT KEEP HIS WORD and continued to bill us. I have paid the bill, reluctantly, and the payment is returned to me and then he bills me again, with interest, and threatens to take me to collections.My advice....STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS INCOMPETENT DENTIST AND HIS LACK OF INTEGRITY!In rebuttal to the response from Larson Dental:NO - I liked the first dentist that we went to at this site. It was only after the practice was sold and ERIC LARSON did the work at Larson Dental that we encountered the lack of competence and integrity.

I always have an amazing experience at Larson Dental. The staff is friendly and they are always accommodating. Dr. Eric is amazing, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Also, Diane is an amazing hygienist, she’s fun to talk to, and she makes the tooth cleaning process painless. As long as I am living in the SLC area, I will always come here.

I have been going to Dr.Eric Larson since I was 10. He is simply the best at what he does. I had a implant done and a crown I have more work to do but so far I am still satisfied and I wouldn’t trust any other dentist with my teeth. The staff that works for him is friendly and they make sure every things gets taken care of. They are very flexible with scheduling and also always availabe to answer any questions. Although I did have some issues with insurance, but they made sure it gets resolved and took care of it for me. Over all I am very satisfied with the service and would recommend him to anyone looking for some nice teeth.

I have been going to Dr. Eric Larson for a few years now and have no complaints! Dr. Larson takes his time, never rushes the procedure and always makes time to chat. Appointments are flexible and I’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be taken back for my procedure.

I know dentists. My father was a dentist/orthodontist, (You could do both back then) and my sister is a dentist. Teeth were a large part of my life. It is always difficult finding a dentist that meets my expectations, as my dad was head of oral surgery at Mt Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, and he was surrounded by great dentists who seemed to all practice on my pearly whites. Since my dad passed, I have searched for a good dental practitioner. I found a great guy in Milwaukee, no one in Louisville, Kentucky, (kind of makes sense if you adhere to stereotypes) and the last guy I went to in SLC, did unnecessary work and planned to do more for thousands of dollars. I avoided him like a bad rash.Brent Larson knows his stuff. He came highly recommended by people in the know at the University. I recognized his expertise immediately, as his diagnosis of my mouth was correct. I purposely withheld information to see if he would pick it up. He did. I am sneaky that way. In addition, Dr. Larsons hearty laugh and easy going manner, would make anyone feel at ease. Brent Larson is a great choice for a dentist. Go see him and take care of your teeth. Hopefully, they will remain with you forever.

They said my wifes insurance covered her. They said they called and checked. On the day she was getting a crown (while she was in the chair with her tooth already drilled), the receptionist comes in and says ACTUALLY she is NOT covered... This wasnt even her first visit. What a time to find out. So dishonest and unprofessional. So, we are left with a huge bill. To this office: Please consider being more professional and doing your job correctly... And own up to it when you do something wrong.

The doctor was great, very friendly and did good work. The front desk was awful since the lady had me standing there not even apologizing for being busy or saying anything. The other receptionist told me to leave and that they would send me a bill. The bill was so much more than what I expected.

I just had a cleaning with one of his hygienist and afterwards, he came in just to talk to me and see how I was doing. He’s such a warm, caring guy! If you’re reading this and you don’t book an appointment afterwards, you will regret it. I promise you that. Don’t learn the hard way, go to Eric. Your teeth called and they are begging to have a great dentist. Dr. Eric Larson is where it’s at!

No one loves to go to the dentist!!! But it was such a nice experience. Dr. Larson explained the procedure that I had to have so completely that I was so comfortable knowing that what was being done was essential for my oral health! The staff is warm and friendly and so helpful when it came to my insurance questions. They always greeted me with a smile. If I could give a ten star rating I would!! Longstanding, upstanding, classic downtown SL business and location. Larson Dental has helped improve my quality of life. The hygienists and front desk are awsome. Patient, knowledgeable, keeping meticulous records while communicating clearly and always friendly. Im back in my car within an hour or less.I came to them in tears on valium after avoiding dentists for over10 years. Dont do that my friends! Come see anyone at Larson Dental. No giant hands, clean and quiet, humane and good natured. Neither the dentist nor his staff made me feel judged.Find the funds, I know thats the hardest task but it is cheaper, easier and much less painful to keep your own teeth. Gums are irreplaceable.He provides an honest assessment offering options based on what my wallet and my teeth can cope with. Thanks to Dr.Eric Larson Im eating, Im smiling, Im more confident, Im grateful.

If you’re non white don’t go here - Front desk and dental hygienist are extremely unprofessional. Front desk referred to a patient as “it” because she was perturbed by being asked a question. The dental hygienist will yell at you if you ask for an explanation on the different services they’re literally trying to shove down your throat. The dental hygienist slammed her hands together to emphasize their lack of respect in allowing a patient time to decide which of the 3 CoMPLeTeLy different services they tell you, you need.

I love Eric and his staff theyre the best. They have been caring for my teeth for over 10 years. They are caring, kind and professional and make you feel like family as they repair your teeth. I highly recommend their services to all.

I was asked to leave a positive review here in exchange for a free cleaning, so I’m sure that’s why this place is rated so high. I declined the offer.Dr. Larson has pretty horrible bed side manner. He often uses medical terms that would be unfamiliar to those without a medical degree and seems frustrated when you don’t comprehend them.Additionally, he recommended surgery for a problem I had that ended up not solving the problem. When asked what we could do to try and fix the unnecessary surgery and the problem, he told me I could go to another dentist if I was dissatisfied...still taking my money, of course.Don’t use Dr Eric Larson

Should be a zero star. Terrible dentists with even worse business practices. Chop shop pretty accurately defines this guys operation. I think his equipment is older than me. Dont under any circumstance let him do a root canal, youll be sorry. On top of it his staff couldnt get my address or my name correct, said it was my fault and nearly sent me to collections.

I went to a regular cleaning last year and was charged for $60 for just cleaning, I said my insurance is covering two free cleaning each year. But they just said I have periodontics problem where copay is $60. I kept asking is it free, and they said yes, but after two month they sent me a bill. This is the worst dental clinics Ive been with and with the worst experience I ever have. I high suggest you find the other one instead this. I regret not going to the one in murray (I think they translocated but may still around Murray). People there are nice and will get you no surcharge at all.The ironic thing is I get referral from our program coordinator, and later on I found she is also mean to students. I guess the same kind of people like the same kind of person...
