I visited Canyon Rim for 2 years (4-5 visits). I started noticing a trend. The Dr. was ALWAYS upselling me every chance he got. Every visit was this $500 mouthguard will really help or that tiny extra wisdom tooth that hasnt even come through the skin, you should have that removed (I have a small fifth wisdom tooth, come to find out the new dentist Im seeing now is not concerned about it AT ALL.) Also, he doesnt think that I have a teeth grinding issue that would require a mouthguard. And, at my last visit at Canyon Rim, Sam told me I had THREE cavities that needed fillings ASAP. This was when I really started to catch on that something wasnt right. So I canceled my appointments at Canyon Rim and found a new dentist. My new dentist did X-Rays and examined my teeth and said they look great, no fillings needed. I usually dont leave negative reviews on here, but this really rubbed me the wrong way, and I felt people should know about it. He has been literally conjuring up stuff that is wrong with my teeth or saying things are a big problem when they are in fact moot. Do yourself a favor and find a new dentist.

I am so happy that I found Canyon Rim Dental. The initial cleaning/exam appointment was great. Tammy is so friendly, and so informative about dental anatomy. I ended up needing a root canal and I was SO NERVOUS. The day before my appointment, I had questions about my procedure and Dr. Delahunty called me back very promptly. During the appointment, Dr. Delahunty walked me through every step of the root canal and the purpose of each step. Not only is he very thorough in his explanations of procedures and x-rays, but he also allowed us to watch my crown being made in a high tech machine in-office, as well as watch him put the final touches on it by hand. What I like most about Canyon Rim Dental is their communication. Dr. Delahunty never seems like he is in a rush, and he answers every question with his full attention and with excellent detail. Although I was nervous throughout the root canal, I felt confident with Dr. Delahuntys expertise and his genuine mindfulness to my comfort.

I was in need of a root canal, and finding an endodontist to take care of it in a timely manner(if you know the need for reprieve, you know) wasn’t happening. Dr. Delahunty and his staff were so sympathetic to my plight and worked me in the schedule FAR sooner than any other specialist. In addition to the entire staff being professional and incredibly kind they have state of the art equipment that elevates Dr. Delahunty’s practice to another dental plane.As far as local anesthetic, I was very impressed with technique and results. As much fun as feeling dental work is, it isn’t. Dr. Delahunty had me numbed up and ready to go in a flash and it wasn’t painful like I’ve had with dentists in the past, nor was I numb all day afterwards.

Dr. Delahunty and his staff are exceptional. I do not like going to the dentist and I look for any reason whatsoever to avoid it. However, with this dentist if I felt any discomfort or pain he handled it immediately and didnt let me suffer. Throughout the whole process Dr. Delahunty explained in good detail what was going on with my procedure and what would happen next. This is by far the most informative dentist I have been to. I was surprised at how much Dr. Delahunty and the dental assistant remembered about me and were able to hold a conversation. If you are new to SLC like me or looking for a new dentist, Id personally recommend you check them out!

First, I normally don’t give 5 stars as that means there is nothing left to improve upon. But, in the case of Canyon Rim Dental they are most deserving of the distinction. The staff is friendly and very helpful at explaining everything from the procedure to the billing. The equipment is state of the the art which, now means that rather than two visits for a crown it is done onsite in one and frankly, is a much better crown than those of the past. The most important and best part of my review is that Dr. Delahuanty (Sam) has been amazing. I have been through many dentists in my life and never have I had such positive outcomes and experience from the procedures that have been required for my dental health.

My husband and I left there with an outstanding experience. The hygienists are great and do a great job making your teeth look new and fresh.Also, Dr. Delahunty is very knowledgeable and will make sure to keep your smile healthy!

I have a terrible dental phobia that has unfortunately been built from a terrible dental history. I am always hesitant to try a new dentist but after being referred to Canyon Rim Dental and Dr. Sam, I am confident that I will never have to go through the painful process of finding a new dentist again. Just got a crown from start to finish in 90 minutes. Dr. D. Was amazing. He even let me watch the hi-tech machines making the crown.

I am severely terrified of needles and any type of dental procedure. The team at Canyon Rim were so amazing to work with. Even though I was a basket case and dropped a few choice words (simply due to anxiety), they treated me with respect and professionalism. The shots were nothing and I can honestly say I have never had that experience. I truly appreciate their care and patient care. I cannot recommend them enough!

He shared photos and the story of the patients he has worked on. I really enjoyed that he included his family in his presentation. It just goes to show you that its not all about the work that someone does but also the lives they touch and even their own life with the self gratification of knowing that they really helped change someones life for the better. :)

One amazing team that really cares! Our company moves events all over the country. Unfortunately, I cannot schedule Dental appointments in advance. I was having issues with my teeth and was going to be in SLC for a few days. I contacted Canyon Rim Dental. The staff spoke to Dr. Sam and were able to work me in that day. Dr. Sam took the time to clearly explain what needed to be done in both the short and long term. They were able to work me in that day and the next for a wisdom tooth extraction, two crowns and a cleaning. Dr. Sam even told me exactly how long I would be there so I could plan my work around my appointment. This team is second to none! They are outstanding, very personable and do not judge. Moving forward, I will only get my dental work done at Canyon Rim Dental in SLC.

Such a great dental experience! The staff is one of a kind & it starts with the receptionists, they are so kind & helpful. I scheduled a cleaning and a consultation with the Dr. because I hadn’t been to the dentist for over ten years. The staff was very nice and Amy suggested I schedule a two hour cleaning because it had been so long. I went into the cleaning and the hygienist was amazed that my mouth was so clean. So I didn’t even need the extra time. So it was a lot cheaper than I was expecting even though I was prepared for a deeper cleaning. They were honest and fair. They suggest a fair treatment plan for the two very small cavities I had.

I had a rather complicated procedure which was coordinated with doctors from out of state as I moved to Utah mid process. Just had a crown down today, Dr. Sam is the best! I had an emotional experience as a teenage with having to have eleven cavities done. Today as I sat in the chair to have work done for my crown old memories came back. Dr Sam sensed my nervousness and took time to make me feel at ease. Not only was it a good experience while I was there, but later tonight he called me personally to check to see how I was doing. That was going above and beyond ! Im from Ohio and I was out in SLC for a few weeks and I chipped a tooth about halfway through my stay. Finding medical care far from home can be intimidating so I was super thankful to find Dr. Sam and his team at Canyon Rim. I needed a crown (my first one), and was dreading it but it was painless and easy. The staff took the time to get to know me and answer all of my questions. Dr. Sam also recommended a night guard to help protect my teeth from further chipping and they rushed it for me so I could get it fitted before we left. I really cant say enough good things. Fantastic work by all. Staff is spectacular. I needed a root canal, but with the careful work executed by the doctor and his staff, I felt no pain and had an easy recovery. Also, they give you a pretty awesome cup when you join... so yeah, don’t be stupid just make an appointment.

Dr. Sam Delahunty was intentionally not truthful with me about an important matter. I would prefer not to give him any stars if that was possible. I like his office personnel, but question his veracity.

Great practice and I highly recommend going here for mouth injury’s, I suffered an injury skiing in which I bit completely through my tongue and was referred by the medical center at snowbird to Canyon Rim. Dr Delahunty did an excellent job repairing the damage with stitches and made the painful process the best it could be.

Canyon Rim Dental has a super nice and professional staff. They welcomed my boys and I right from the start. They also have the unique ability to make and replace new crowns all in the same visit. I was amazed that they were able to basically 3 D print my new crown out of porcelain right there in the office. No more waiting for a week or two with a temporary crown to adjust to. I got everything taken care of in less than 2 hours!

I was clenching and grinding my teeth so bad that I was experiencing severe jaw pain. Some nights it would take me hours to go to sleep. Dr. Sam recommended a night guard and it has been a total life saver! My jaw pain has gone away and my quality of sleep has improved greatly!

I started coming to Canyon Rim about a year ago and I have been so impressed! Ive had a lot of dentists and none have ever made me feel as educated about my mouth as these guys! I had to have two cavities filled and they took pictures along the way so I could see the cavity along the process. You cant even tell there are fillings there. Fast and effective cleanings and check ups

This is the best dental office! I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and would never change. The staff is the best part, they’re so friendly, patient and informative. Everyone makes it such a great experience! Plus, you know they’re being thorough and giving you the advice that they would give to their own family. Dr. Sam even went as far to call and check up with me after some work they had done. They’re genuinely the best in the valley and I would recommend giving them a call and trying them out for yourself for any kind of dental work!

I’ve had a few dentists in my lifetime, but I’ve never been so impressed then I am with Canyon Rim Dental. The staff is fantastic, I’ve learned things about caring for my teeth from the hygienists that I probably should have already known, but never did. They are friendly and helpful. Dr Delahunty is kind and knowledgeable, he takes time to explain any concerns or procedures. He makes sure your comfortable during a procedure and out of all the numbing shots I’ve had (which are many) his are by far less painful, I don’t know how he does it, but I swear it doesn’t hurt as bad as other dentists I’ve had. He also put a crown on my then 5 year old son and fixed a few cavities for him. He was so good with my son and helped him stay clam and it was overall such a great experience for him too.

I have been going to Canyon Rim Dental for years and love all of their staff. They are nice, friendly, and do great work. They are up to date on new technologies. Dr. Sam gives me options on treatments when problems with my teeth come up, like whether to get another filling on a tooth that already has two fillings or get a crown.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Mark Taylor for about 20 years and recently with Dr. Sam. They have done some amazing work over the years and I cant recommend them enough. The whole staff is friendly and skilled. I had a root canal a few years ago and two veneers put on my front teeth from a skiing accident and the color match/reconstruction was perfect. Theyve fitted me for multiple mouth guards and filled a few cavities. Trista is a master dental hygienist and Denise is always happy to see you. Theyre the best, go in and give them a shot.

Im generally not a fan of going to the Dentist (who is?), however, I do really like Canyon Rim Dental. Ive had two oral surgeries with them and both have gone extremely well. They are very competent, very kind and have a way of putting you at ease. My child actually thoroughly enjoys going. Trista is absolutely lovely with him. I highly recommend this team. Dr Sam Delahunty gave me an incredible experience. I’ve had horrible dentists in the past that charged too much and were very invasive. Dr Delahunty was able to perform a less invasive operation saving my tooth. He taught me the process and walked me though everything so I knew what was going on and felt more comfortable. I absolutely hated going to the dentist because of previous dentists who loved to belittle. Canyon Rim actually made me comfortable and relieved my anxiety about going to the dentist. They showed me step by step the process and approach they were taking for the work that needed to be done. Wow, what a positive experience! I have been going to Canyon Rim for 20 years and never really had a serious issue other than a filling or two. Going to the dentist is not one of my favorite things to do so when I started having serious tooth pain I was not looking forward to the journey. I explained to Dr. Sam what was going on and before we rushed into a root canal, he suggested a temporary crown to see if he could relieve the pain. I also noted that I wasnt a great patient and didnt like things close to my face. Dr. Sam was understanding and explained the procedure step by step as we went through the process. I wont say that my fear is gone but the experience that I had was above and beyond my expectations. I eventually did have a root canal and did have a follow up appointment to have a permanent crown. Once again the Canyon Rim staff was professional, understanding and performed excellent work with the understanding of me as the patient and made me feel that I was the most important person in their office that day (maybe I was!) Dr Sam followed up every step of the way and called me that evening to make sure all was well. Going to the dentist is still not high on my list but Canyon Rim has sure made it a lot easier for me. Ive been going to Canyon Rim Dental for years. We love Dr. Mark and think hes the best dentist in town. Trista does my cleaning and is thorough, tender and wonderful to visit with, shes the best ever. I also think Barb at the front desk is warm, friendly and wonderful to work with. I was on vacation in Park City, Utah when I had a tooth abscess. I had some friends in Salt Lake City refer me to Sam Delahunty and I could not be more happy with the dental care that I received. Sam is a very personable young man and clearly communicated the procedures he recommended. I had a root canal performed on Wednesday afternoon and returned the following Monday to receive a crown for the tooth. Sam and his staff made my visit very comfortable and my overall experience was excellent. I highly recommend Sam and Canyon Rim Dental!

Canyon Rim Dental is by far one of the best dental offices I have ever been too. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a dentist! The doctors and staff treat every single patient very well and make sure you get the best care possible. They truly treat their staff and patients like family. Absolutely best dentist practice Ive been to! The entire staff is so friendly and kind. They make it a point to remember the little things. I walk in and I immediately get asked about my son and my husband...its like Im talking to close friends. I had to get a crown and it was all done in one day! I didnt have to get a temporary crown. I love that they can now make the crowns while you wait! All the staff is so friendly and professional. Dr. Sam did an awesome job. Thanks for the great experience!

I visited Canyon Rim Dental today for my appointment with Dr. Delahunty, and for a dental visit, it was exceptional. If I could do a 10 star rating I would. Amy greeted me as I entered the office and got me through my remaining paperwork quickly and efficiently. One of his assistants, Maddie, immediately took me in for a 3D image of my mouth and then helped me get comfortable. Dr. Delahunty warmly greeted me as well the moment I sat down. What I was impressed with the most is how Sam (Dr. Delahunty) asked me questions as to why I was there rather than just probing around as I have experienced with other dentists. I thought I was going to need a root canal due to sensitivity to hot and cold foods. Sam listened to me first and then began exploring the cause of my problems. Upon completion he felt I wasnt going to need a root canal because the pain was probably coming from gum decay and a small cavity on the side of my tooth instead. The next thing that impressed me was that he gave me two options and recommendation what he felt would be best for me. His recommendation included the verbiage I want to take care of this issue for you for decades, not just a couple years. Based upon his professional recommendation I went the direction he suggested. Throughout the process he would first tell me what he was going to do and then during the process he would tell me about how much longer he thought it would take. I honestly cant say enough about how impressed I was with Dr. Delahunty and the entire staff of Canyon Rim Dental. I feel like I have finally found my new dentist who Ill be seeing for many years to come. Thank you Canyon Rim Dental!!!

Drs Sam Delahunty and Mark Taylor are very skilled at their craft. Results are what counts and they have delivered. I started with Dr Taylor but the past couple of years have been with Dr Sam and I have been impressed at the technical expertise on difficult procedures such as crowns and bite problems. Impressive use of technology as well. Good followup, friendly staff, good hygienists--theyve got it all. Keep it up!

Doctor Sam at Canyon Rim is amazing! I have never yet had a negative experience. He makes me very comfortable and is happy to talk my nervous self through each procedure. The staff is also wonderful and very accommodating. Trista is a fantastic hygienist and always takes great care of my teeth.

Truly amazing experience at Canyon Rim Dental. Ever since I was young the dentist has been one of my biggest fears. Sam Delahunty and his team has completely changed this. He walked me through in depth of what they were going to do and showed detailed pictures. I had two fillings done and it was painless which was a first for me. Highly recommend Canyon Rim Dental !!!

I have been with Canyon Rim Dental for over 5 years now and have always loved my experience with them. They are friendly, professional, organized, clean, and up to date with the relevant dentistry technology. Dr. Sam and Dr. Mark take a great deal of interest in their patients well-being and education - and most importantly they are preventative oriented rather than problem management oriented. I will be with them as long as I am in Utah.

Very knowledgeable staff that did a great job examining my teeth, and outlining a plan to keep them healthy. Im glad they were so detail oriented with their examination.

I had a cracked molar which needed a crown. Dr. Sam did a painless, relatively quick prep on my tooth and I got to see him “build” my crown on a screen. This technique is wonderful because there is no living with a temporary crown and having to make another trip for a permanent fitting. The crown is made in the office while you wait and fitted in the same visit. I’m amazed at what a quick and painless procedure this was. Thanks to Dr Sam and his staff.

This is absolutely the best dental practice I’ve ever used. Both front staff and dental professionals are working hard for you. Dr Delahunty was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything beforehand and during the procedure. He listened to my concerns about comfort level and repeatedly checked with me to make sure the procedure was painless. I would highly recommend this office for children and adults.
