Dr. Austin is an incredible dentist. His Dental Assistants are amazing. I would recommend them to anyone!

Worst crowns I’ve ever had and I’ve had a few. Two front ones loose from day two, one came off and broke and to their credit they made a new one gratis but the two fronts were prepared poorly shape wise and as a result they constantly worked their way loose over time because they rockered back and forth, front to back with each serious bite. Had to have different dentists glue them back on and to top it off the constant movement broke a bit of the remaining tooth structure underneath so that I could never make the old crown fit correctly. Returned and told him about the issue and he wouldn’t acknowledge the problem. And we started with front teeth in perfect shape, we were just trying to color match. Removed too much tooth structure and thus made a good tooth forever bad. If they were free I couldn’t trust him again.

Dr. Austin and his entire staff that I encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. Very compassionate about what they do. I will most definitely be going back. Great experience

All I needed was to shorten my 2 front teeth and because the procedure (using diamond burrs) is so quick and simple, It took only a few minutes and was free.

I highly recommend Dr. Richard Austin to anyone interested in dental veneers. I felt very well guided and informed through every step of the process. Dr. Austins staff were very kind and helpful. I was a special case because I had previous work done on my teeth that didnt look good but this was no problem for Dr. Austin and he was able to work with what I had. My biggest fear going in was pain during the procedure but Dr. Austin checked in with me throughout the entire process making sure I was numb. Overall I give this office 5/5 stars for excellent customer service and reliable quality care.

I had Dr. Austin do 8 veneers some time ago. Since then I have moved around a few times and have had a number of dentists who have done work on me. Every other dentist and dental hygienist that has worked on my teeth have praised his work. They have complemented on the clean margins and beautiful veneers.Since coming back to Utah I have been back in to have some minor work done and have been very pleased. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would not trust my teeth with any other cosmetic dentist.

I wanted to leave this review, because Dr. Austin and his staff changed my life.I had been grinding my teeth from a very young age. As an adult, after years of stress and difficulty, I had ground them down to the dentin. I also had missing enamel along my gum line. I avoided smiling, and social situations, which contributed to the depression I already had. I also avoided photos with people. When I had pictures taken with close friends or family, and I smiled, I would have to try to touch up my teeth in the photos, before I could share them. It was a daunting task, that never quite looked right.I knew I had to do something, and I was told I could completely lose my teeth if I didn’t.The first contact I had with Dr. Austin’s office was with Kim, who was so friendly, helpful and reassuring. And Aaron, the lab representative who was also absolutely amazing in creating the design of my teeth.Dr. Austin greeted me with his bright friendly smile, eased my fears, and let me know I was safe, and in good hands.The absolutely darling and beautiful girls on his staff, were also kind, patient and reassuring throughout the entire process. I would love to claim any of them as my own daughter. This dentist is by far the most genuine one I have met. He goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy and feeling well. He personally takes interest in you. I have been very impressed by his kindness, knowledge and professionalism. His hygienist that has helped is super friendly and pleasant as well. I would encourage anyone to trust in this dentist. I had an amazing experience at Gateway Dental! Before my appointment I was nervous because I had never had any previous whitening done, but Dr. Austin and his staff were friendly and welcoming I instantly felt at ease. During the process the woman doing my whitening checked in on me frequently to make sure I was as comfortable as possible, which I really appreciated. I am a patient that had large gaps on the sides of my upper teeth. I had reconstruction, installing 8 new teeth, closing both gaps on the sides. My smile is perfect and awesome. The dentist and his staff are so caring... Dr. Austin is the best in the business. He has an artistic approach to teeth, making them look beautiful and real. After several times back, I consider them to be my friends. I recommend them highly!

Dr. Austen and his staff are not only incredibly professional, but what really stood out to me was how they check with you to see if you have any financial hardships and they will work with you if needed. They also take into consideration that many patients have a fear of the dentist, and they ask you ahead of time if you have any fears around the dentist and what they can do to ensure you are comfortable. Never been with a dentist who goes that above and beyond to make a genuine connection with their patients.Highly recommended!

I had a great experience there! His staff is so friendly making it such an enjoyable experience (plus to be completely honest they are all pretty as well which is a bonus)! Best doctor in town for quality if you want someone who does it better then anyone else with no concerns of the turn out I would recommend him. I went somewhere else before and just wasn’t impressed and they had to redo it when I came in but since then it’s been nothing but smiles:-D

Dr. Austin has given me excellent dental treatment. He had done veneers on my wife and she loves them, they are beautiful. I have always had a good smile but have a slight fear of dental offices, his team helps ease that anxiety and his hygienist is awesome during my cleanings, very gentle. I appreciate that he makes sure everything looks natural when do need work. I feel comfortable in his office and confident I am in good hands. I have been able to see his cosmetic and general work and I am very impressed with the final result and the care him and his office puts into my experience. You can tell he has made this his life work and his hard work shows. Thank you for giving me and my mouth the best care I could ask for.

The staff were great! Best cleaning Ive ever had. Great office and great staff. Dont hesitate to come.Update 2018:Dr. Richard does a good job and the dental hygienists are very through and helpful. You can tell they care.Ultimately I decided to leave and go with another dentist this year. This is a result of the lack of flexible billing options available through this office.I needed a crown and the office wanted to charge me full price of the crown and then have me deal with my dental insurance to get a refund. Even though my insurance indicated they would cover 60% of the cost of the procedure, I was told I was told by the receptionist would still need to pay full price upfront and then work it out with the insurance to get refunded by my insurance. It felt like they just didnt want to do the work of working the billing with the insurance company and wanted to punt all the work onto me. This was too much of a hassle and not standard business practice. I called a different dentist office and they immediately were able to tell me the insurance adjusted cost of the procedure that Id have to pay upfront. This is the second billing issue Ive had with this location and as such decided to go somewhere else.

I highly recommend Dr. Austin to everyone. I have been seeing him since 1983. Dr. Austin has on a few occasions seen me late in the evenings and on weekends when I was in pain. He has done wonders for me over the years and I am grateful. Yes there are other Dentists i could see but the loyalty and care he has provided over the years brings me back.

I had my veneers done by Dr. Austin November 2015. I am not the type of person who likes to leave reviews. the reason I am writing one today is because I read one one-star review and felt that what he/she described was not Dr. Austin. He is truly an expert at what he does. I LOVE my veneers. His lab guy (Aaron I think) is an artist as well. no one, not even my parents even noticed that I got veneers, thats how real they look. Dr. Austin gave me the smile Id dreamt of. Do your research and dont turn away by one or two bad reviews.

Dr Austin has reconstructed my whole upper jaw with a beautiful “implant supported whole upper bridge.” It is usually called “all on four” and better still, I have “all on six.” Now I can eat and grind any food I like including my favorite steaks. Dr Austin is a very patient gentleman and always abide by the rules of ethics. Above all, he is not a greedy man.He has many beautiful and sweet expert staff, including front desk manager named “Kim” who is always helpful to patients. I am a patient of Dr Austins and find it amazing people can have such differing experiences with the same professional organization. What I believe is that there is a tendency for our society to push negativity willingly and sit back after receiving exceptional service and not report. Maybe even some promote a vindictive attitude in an attempt to seek freebies or compensation undeservedly. Whatever the case, I was one who sat back without reporting publicly my treatment experience.As a result of childbearing, I had stained teeth as my mother innocently took tetracycline during her pregnancy. I lived a life with a limited smile, perhaps feeling a little timid knowing what my teeth looked like. I learned Dr Austin was performing remarkable work in correcting cosmetic defects in teeth such as mine. I am not one who enjoys any type of medical procedure whatsoever. I was talked into investigating Dr Austins work by those who knew his skills. My fear of even beginning discussions was quickly and permanently removed on my first visit with him in a consult. His demeanor, professionalism, and ability not only put me at ease, but enabled me to understand all the options available for me. Dr. Austin had restored my mouth with beautiful porcelain veneers. He was very professional during my consultation and helped me pick the best long term choice in treatment. When I went in for my work his office managers were extremely nice and helpful when starting this process. His assistants made sure I had the best care and experience during my treatment and I enjoyed the calming atmosphere they create. Having a ceramist come in and discuss exactly what color, shape, and look I wanted made me feel confident in the choice I was making to have my mouth restored by Dr. Austin. It really made a difference.Its very frustrating being stuck with a smile you dont like. What is even more frustrating is trying to hide your smile. My lower teeth were very crooked and it was extremely frustrating having to try and make a choice of getting braces at my age, along with old restorations that had discolored and started to break down. After Dr. Austin had placed my veneers, all of my teeth were white and completely straightened out. I finally had the smile I deserved, it made me feel like a new woman!I loved my experience at Gateway Dental Arts they deffinatly make their patients number one. From the time I was a young boy all the way until just 5 years ago I absolutely feared, loathed, and despised going to the Dentist....! In fact even talking about the dentist made me horribly nervous and anxious....!However that all changed when I met Dr. Richard Austin and the amazing ladies he has on his dental staff.....! On each and every visit there are no mysteries as to what procedures will be taking place and all questions are answered thoroughly, which puts me, the patient, in a relaxing and comfortable mood for the duration of my visits.....!So for Me, being someone who is terrified of the Dentist, I could not have asked for a better one than I have right now with Dr. Austin....and I could not ask for a better group of ladies/hygienists to continue helping me keep my Teeth sparkling white and cavity free.....!!!!

My experience with Dr Austin seems to follow suite with other comments I have read. He is an exceptional dentist. I had a toothache that was extremely painful, I called the office and was able to get an appointment to see Dr Austin on an emergency basis. He diagnosed it and started treating it the same day to get me out of pain. Dr Austin and his staff made me feel very comfortable during the whole experience. He completed the treatment quickly and I am out of pain today. I would highly recommend Dr Austin to anyone. Thanks

Horrible horrible dentist! Everything he did was wrong. For me and other members of my family. Implants put in sloppy and cockeyed. Horrible infections. Veneers didnt match and broke. Root canals had to be redone by another dentist. New dentists were horrified at his work! Hes all talk and smooth chair side manner. Run away!!!!!

I am a professional snowboarder. I was training on trampolines and injured my lip. My dad took me right in to see Doctor Austin and he did a laser procedure to repair my torn lip and explained to me it wasnt as bad as i had thought. He put my mind at ease,fixed my lip and even whitened my teeth while I was there. He was a great doctor and got me in right away when I was hurt.

If youre willing to put up with a lot of your valuable time wasted due to an unorganized staff, showing up on time for appointments only to wait for hours, then be seen and not know what they were even doing, come home in enough pain your plans had to be cancelled and on top of that, just ok customer service from their stafff but you get a decent end result... then Gateway Dental Arts is your place. I had an implant and 2 crowns done and in the end they look good but Dr. Austin was unable to take away the sharp edge on the inside of my crown since it may break again (the first tooth was broken at time of placement and I had to go back, yet again). AND I dont feel at all like I was valued as a client. My daughter now needs some work done and I will be seeking out a new cosmetic dentist.

I have had Veneers since 1990 I had them re-done in 2000 which was a nightmare they had constant problems falling off and just never looked quite right. After my front tooth cracked I decided to go talk to Dr Austin because I knew he does true comedic dentistry. I am still going through the process but I wanted to let you all know how amazing this experience has been. They all know what they are doing from the first visit up to today I am so impressed. My new veneers came in and they were not PERFECT it was no question they were going back- he wanted me to be completely happy. They do not even bond them until they know and you know they are perfect. You will not get this with any other dentist TRUST ME !!. When its all said and done it may seem like his prices are a bit more but in the long run you will be paying less and you will look better. Bottom line THEY KNOW HOW TO DO TEETH.

I was having horrible tooth pain I called Dr Austins office and they were able to get me in as soon as they could. I had to have a root canal, . I was nervous. Dr Austin gave great shots, didnt even feel it. During the procedure i felt really relaxed and comfortable. Thanks to Dr Austin I am pain free.

You want a Hollywood Smile? Omg!!! I cannot tell you enough how impressed I am with Dr. AUSTIN RICHARD! And his entire staff! My stories a little weird but I have never had a dentist before. I had one as a child, then pregnant but that doesnt count. As an adult, your dentist is essential to your health. Your smile is EVERYTHING! I was so so scared. I had looked up getting veneers and his ad on you tube kept playing before my videos so I figured why not check it out!. I looked him up and he caters to the celebrities. I was like hes going to be sooo expensive now!. But I went anyways. I cannot believe how affordable he was!! I am a single mom and I was able to have a Hollywood smile! He was so genuine and sweet. I was embarrassed I had never had a dentist. His team omg made me feel so welcome and so kind!. I cannot explain how amazing they all are!. They were not judgemental or mean. They took their time to explain the process and helped me with any questions!. I have come in a couple times for the temps and now the finals!. Omg I have such a beautiful smile. He made sure I didnt hurt and made them a little bigger and I absolutely love them!. Thank you guys so much!. I am telling all my friends he is the guy to go to!. Please do not go here!!! If I could give them 0 stars I would. Each of the three times I went into this office I had horrible customer service. I was not greeted and they were late for my appointment times by 30 minutes. I had routine cavities fixed by Dr. Austin but later had to have them redone because he did something wrong. I was in horrible pain after going here!!

Worst experience ever. My jaw still hurts 18 month later, he had to re-do the majority of the teeth three times and they are still not right. My speech was affected and he seemed more worried about the money, which he gets up front, than the fact that they are not right. And they are not that pretty, I would be surprised if I am in his before/after book.
