The apartment is nice but had several problems the first few months. The property manager was the previous tenant and left multiple problems for us to deal with. We pay $70 for our parking permits and assigned spot yet we are being told to have a permit while in our assigned spot or we will be towed. What the heck is the point of having an assigned spot that I pay for every month if I have to have a permit to park in my own spot. This place is ridiculous and would advise anyone to stay away if they can help it.
Living here has been a good experience for me and my family. My kids love the park and have made several friends here.I live in a two bedroom apartment and I didn’t think living in an apartment would feel so much like home as it has been here for me.I would recommend living here
Lived here for 3 years from April 2017 to May 2020, never any drama. Maintenance was always done within 24 hours if an issue arose.Office staff we’re always helpful, my kids always enjoyed the park, love north Salinas.
New office staff is incredibly helpful and friendly!Had several issues in my apartment and they get fixed if not the same day the next. Maintenance is fast to fix out issues. For the price I pay here I have been happy with my rental. Compared to other places I considered prior to moving in. I get more room a car garage, patio storage room a washer and dryer and a central heater and fireplace which if you ask me in this cold weather it’s a must! I couldn’t be happier with my choice to rent here.Parking can be a struggle if you have more than the allowed number of vehicles which then you do have to park outside if you have more than 2.Perfect dog park which my dogs love and spacious patio room for them as well.
The maintenance team is straight to the point an always get the job done fast an professional like their not even there, an when it comes to calling an making a appointment Gabby, the service manager is very professional polite and resourceful.
This place has mostly 1 star reviews and 5 star reviews. Nothing in between. Obviously the 5 star reviews are FAKE people. I lived here 2 years ago and worse experience ever. Dont do it... Id rather rent a room from a complete stranger than relive my experience here.
Just relocated from NYC around 8 months ago, been here ever since. Love the staff and maintenance team all made the transition super smooth, efficient, and enjoyable experience! Recommend this place, safe, respectful, and clean community.
Loved living in this location. Staff including Manager was super friendly and attentive at all times. Very dog friendly and great amenities !
The apartment itself was BEAUTIFUL!As for the surroundings...very disappointing. Garbage dumpsters over flowing. Parking area looked like a junk yard. The Gates were always open. The area looked shady and dirty ..having ALL ground floor apartments questioned my safety. The price was different/lower when calling the central location as opposed to walking in and asking the price..$100 difference.
This is the second time I have lived here. I am renewing my lease for another year. The management team is friendly and they are quick to fix any problems that may arise. They are eager to make you feel welcomed. Theyre always doing special things, like BBQs and contests for different holidays. I enjoy living here.
We have lived here for just over 3 months and have loved it so far. The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors are friendly!
The management is great. We were moving out and our furniture rental couldnt get picked up on the day we handed in our keys, so they made an arrangement with that company so we didnt have to pay extra. We couldnt be more satisfied.
Recently toured the property overall was a great experience, customer service was outstanding, really helpful and answered all my questions.
My wife and I were tenants for 3 months. When we moved out management failed to disclose final payment necessary and then billed us late charges even though they would not return our phone calls (3 times) when we tried to make contact. We would highly discourage anyone from renting from this company as they are thrilled to say screw you and we will keep all your money. We have never had an experience as bad as this. I highly recommend renters avoid this complex if possible, they will try to screw you over!
Maintenance service is amazing, but it sucks to know that your rent will be raised when your lease is renewed and when they start to charge parking fees after being a valued tenant for a couple of years. Dont forget about the neighbors; theyre great at dumping couches and old furniture! Besides that, groundskeepers really make an effort to make the place look nice outside.
Management was easy to work with, the property looks well taken care and clean.
The apartments are old and not well maintained. While we were living there they had to repair the deck on the apartment above us and they made our deck area unusable by storing their tools and making it a work space and a muddy mess. They also plugged their power tools into our outlets, using our electricity to do their work. They also cut into our outdoor closet storage area while doing their work causing rain and debris to get into our stored belongings. The area around the trash dumpsters was always a mess. The office is impossible to get a hold of. Anytime I needed to talk with them I had to leave multiple messages and no one called me back. When we moved out I needed to talk to the office about our deposit and no one would call me to discuss it. They screwed us over by figuring out ways to keep all our deposit even though we had done everything right. Would never, ever, ever rent from them or any of their apartments if this is the way they treat people!
Community is beautiful, I came in for a tour and Gabriela was very friendly and professional.
Our lease ended and they more then doubled our rent with out notifying us. And we informed them we would like an extension a month in advance and they said they would call or email us back. Never got a response. Poor business practice. Now we are stuck paying $4,000 for a two bedroom apartment.
Lived here for 8 months... I would say dont do it.Management sucks, the people at the office are so lost and confused all the time. People use fire lanes to park all day. Nothing gets done. When I had moved there, I applied for waiting list for 2nd parking.. A month later i asked why i have not gotten my parking. I was never even put down on the list even tho I asked a few times. After all that trouble, I do get a parking. Security... where? Gated, yes it has a gate.. but is always open. Never worked, and probably never will. These guys charge you for everything.. assigned parking get ready to pay $35 for the assigned parking. Moved over a month ago, and just found out that my deposit never got sent, because workers cant even input a correct apartment address. No phone call, no email no nothing to tell me check was never sent, or to confirm address. LOL. Manager also told my wife, he would not charge us for the touch up paint, because of how clean we left the place... Next thing we know we still get charged for it. Talk to the guy, and we basically got a F. U ... So yea, dont trust these people unless there is some sort of signed paperwork. Anyways, If you are reading this... I would suggest to avoid this place. Save yourself the headache, and just find elsewhere. If not, you will have people with surrounds sounds shaking the apartments down at 11-3 in the morning LOL.
Bottom line up front, they wrongfully charged me with $396 for carpet change when I moved out. I had to move there when Sheridan Apartments failed to make the apartment ready on my move-in date. I stayed there 7 months and that were like a prolonged nightmare. The staff is so professional and kind, but the UDR professionally and kindly steals from you. The rent is more expensive than apartments in Monterey with Ocean View. Plus you have to pay for all utilities. You even have to pay $15 to park your car inside the community. Furthermore, you have to pay $5 each month to be able to pay the bill. Yes, you pay them to send you utilities bill. They say it is a gated community and safe, but gates never work properly, and anyone can walk or drive in. Mostly, danger comes from the inside. After all, I was able to save my family away from this wicked place. But it haunts us. They did not pay us our security deposit back. Plus they ask for $46 more. The reason was they changed the carpet. I called the billing department to immediately hear payment options. Sorry but why on earth would you change the carpet, if there is no stains or damage on it. I asked them for pictures and also detailed invoice. They failed to provide me with the invoice, but they sent me pictures that proves nothing that they had to change the carpet. I asked for the invoice again for several times via email, they never replied. After that, I called the billing department several times, they never replied. I would say never ever get fooled by the professional approach of the management office, they are the soft face to keep you calm while stealing from you. Stay away, if you can.
Worst possible Management staff. Never any parking for residents. Homeless people wandering the complex and you still get charged $2000 a month. We went two months with half of our bedroom roof caved in from a water leak. There solution was to through a tarp over the hole and call it a day. We went without a working dryer and stove for three months till we finally had enough. As we were moving out, we were told to leave all the passes and keys in the apartment, since no one is ever in the office, now Im being charged $250.00 for not turning them in.
Nice property, great customer service!
Where to start...I wanted to take some time out of my day to do a public service announcement on this Apartment Complex to serve the people of Salinas and surrounding area. I have just broken my lease and paid the $3,000 dollars to leave this place in order to keep some of my sanity. Topics we’re going to cover today are all in no specific order.Parking is horrendous. Its as if there’s 5 families living in each apartment by the way the parking overflows to the street and in tow away zones. If you work past 3pm Monday through Friday say goodbye to that extra 20$ you paid per vehicle per month. Weekends are no different except that you cant leave. Period. Or your spot gets swooped in on by people idling in cars parked in tow away zones. Some vehicles look as if theyve been abandoned for a few years by the qtr. inch thick layer of dirt and dust. The towing and patrol that PHR likes to brag and advertise about is non-existent. They do nothing, when you have this amount of people smashed into such a small area and confined to live, you end up with numerous 911 calls and constant reminders that youre in the ghetto of Salinas. Anyone who’s lived here will tell you there’s a metal grate in the parking lot as you exit the left end of the complex that has been ignored for the entire 6 months weve been here. Every time a car passes over it and hits it, it sends out a massive boom that radiates the entire complex. Get used to hearing this. I think the staff here are deaf, they dont seem to hear it or any other thing that comes out of tenant’s mouths. If youre someone who enjoys the window being open at night for fresh air, Im sorry. Traffic at this end of Main street is never ending, which makes up for the most dangerous left hand turns youll ever make. Remember those illegally parked cars mentioned above? Yes, thats why. On top of life endangering maneuvers, one must make on the daily...youre greeted by a constant flow of Highway 101 noise, exhaust, engine braking. The CHP use Sala road as an exit to catch people getting off at Boranda Ave. So, if your unit is on the street like the ones typically available for rent for all the reasons listed above, youll have a Nascar race to watch nightly.Amenities at this complex are absolutely disgusting. Employees would rather race on their golf carts and holler at girls than do their jobs. Pools are 24/7 dirty, I mean pool because the 2nd pool is never opened out of fear of personal liability. This leads to the only pool being packed with 40 kids and one parent watching them. The gym or what I would call a staphylococcus infection waiting to happen is never cleaned and bathroom lights have never been replaced in the 6 unfortunate months I endured here. Hygiene wipes are never restocked and most of the time since the code is never changed you have children inside throwing weights or playing tag even though theres cameras. The last time I ran on the treadmill the gym was filled with cigarette smoke. Guessing its where the kids from one of the 3 trailer parks surrounding go to hang out. On the last week before our fortunate escape, some people entered the gym and stole all the flat screens and destroyed all the equipment out of spite. Doesnt surprise me, they treat their tenants like garbage and the code to enter the gym is never changed nor the door ever locked. Serves them right, maybe now theyll take care of the amenities. Sadly, I think theyll just shut down the gym indefinitely like they did the pool that was too much work to maintain. ( Theres so much more to this review, if youd like to see it message me)
Great place to live. Lived in east salinas apartments for 12 years and moved here to harden ranch and its been really great
Pretty great place to live. Large complex, however was still private, no nosey neighbors. The only thing I would have to say, there are tons of kids in the pool, splashing in the summer. They should have one for the unruly splashers and one for the more civilized sun loungers. Also, the rent was a little high for what is was and they do nickel and dime you to death with all the add on fees; ie. parking passes, pet fees and other nonsense not included in the original rental price they post on their ads.
Management screws tenants for everything. Security guard works with a tow company, they tow your vehicle for any reason to charge the tow and storage charge.. management, security guards and tow company work together to charge tenants.. dont move there..
For the 8 month I least there, someone tried breaking in to my apartment and were two homicides that took place there. People are rude and dirty. The grounds are a mess the roads and parking need to be fixed. And they still have the never to charge close to 2k a month for rent. And that not including pets, water, parking, pg&e, cable ect. The parking is horrible if you have more than one car you are battling for parking spaces every day. Do not rent from this place unless its your final and last resort. This is Salinas not Monterey or Pacific Grove.
This establishment is an absolute joke. Cockroach infestation in our apartment, when moved to another apartment by the maintenance team large items were stolen, but since the management said multiple people had access to the apartment they could not be held liable, Had the management accuse me of stealing my items and identified me as the person they saw carrying a 45 gallon turtle tank, though I was out of the state on business. Upon contacting the corporate office of the property management company they defended their staff to the end, dismissed my calls, and blew me off. If you ever have to rent in Salinas stay away from here and any properties managed by UDR.
I moved to Salinas in 2016 for work. The Pointe at Harden Ranch Apartments werent the first on my list, but ultimately was the one I chose to spend the next two years here because of the location, community, affordability, and management. I hate commuting, I dont know how you Californians do it. PaHR is near the 101, you have two on ramps north and south of the apartment complex so if one tends to get backed up youre able to use the other and get on your way. The apartments are in the outskirts of Salinas which means you wont get the heavy hussle and bussle of crowded city streets. Its north of the mall with plenty shopping centers and grocery stores near the complex. PaHR is very nicely laid out, I use to deliver pizzas in high school, some of the disasters of apartments I had to navigate through were ridiculous. Everything here is straightforward. Covered parking, mailboxes, dog parks, exercise rooms, pool/spa, and play grounds are all very well maintained by the grounds crew. The units are a bit older but they are always getting renovated and kept up to date. Price for a single room unit was probably the best I found when scouting for a place to stay, from that aspect I highly recommend. Management was always so willing to attend to whatever needs I had. Leaky sink, clogged drain, flooded apartment. Etc... Stuff happens, Im not going to get angry at them for mother nature, but they were always on top of it whenever it came to getting something fixed. There was only one time I had to get straight with them about a pretty persistent annoying issue. Dont come here thinking youre going to be living in the Cadillac of apartments, come here knowing you have a home that will always be here for you with a management and staff that keep it professional.
Honestly i love it and ive been here for a year almost but man the think that i hate is the parking on Sundays and Saturdays
Just one of the worst apartments Ive lived in. Totally disrespectful, the front gate breaks ALL the time so youre locked out most of the time, not to mention its totally unsafe, and theres moss and moly growing everywhere outside because they dont take care of the property. If you have a choice, do yourself a favor and choose somewhere (ANYWHERE) else to live.
I really love it because they allow pets and its very cool.
Just DONT move here!!! Simply put.......
This is hands down the worst apartment complex ever. My wife and I lived here for 2 years and had nothing but problems. From the constant drug deals, to the prostitution rings, to the leaking roofs, it was a living hell. The staff is unresponsive and rude, showing the complex with blanket letters angrily accusing all occupants of the misdeeds of a single person. Parking is always impossible to find and the management never enforces their own rules regarding it. The maintenance staff is incompetent; Our leaky roof was fixed (After we complained 7 times) by painting over where it was dripping inside, which just moved the leak. There was certainly dry-rot throughout our unit and we found lots of black mold when we moved out. The entrance gate is perpetually broken and when it is fixed it only takes a couple of days before someone breaks it again. The parent company, UDR, does nothing to mitigate these problems, except for replacing the manager every couple of months. In the 2 years we lived there we went through at least 4 different (and ever-more incompetent) managers.
This place is filthy. Dont waste your time or money! First day I moved in I had mold in my closet (ruined my wardrobe after a rain day) the office people told me it was black paint... Yet the unit is white? At 9 months I have ants infesting my home due to cracks and holes in the walls prior to moving in. Oh they want raise the rent... Disgusting and cheap are the only 2 words that describe this place!
Our apartment was really dark and since there are no ceiling lights in most of the rooms, it led to a pretty gloomy atmosphere. Thats only a problem in certain apartments though. The first day we moved in, there was mold in our shower, which leads me to believe they didnt actually do much to clean the apartment. There was also a piece of tape on one of our walls that someone had clearly just panted over and left there rather than taken it off.Overall the staff is really friendly, and they try their best to help you out, that being said, how can they help if they dont even answer their phone or reply to voicemail. They say the office is open, but no one will answer the phone, or no one will even be in the office at all. I never once had a problem with maintenance. They really get the job done, theyre super nice, and pretty fast. Their online system to submit problems is great, weve had maintenance come the next day to fix a bunch of stuff. The secondary gate is always open or closed at the wrong time, only the main entrance seems to work properly, and not all the apartments are accessible from there by car.Our door was super hard to open and close too. It stuck like CRAZY. You literally had to slam into it to close it. You think its great having a fireplace, until it gets cold and it lets in cold air for the entire winter. Plus the ceiling was so high in the 2 story apartments, and the loft was so open, that all the heat went up, so anyone upstairs was SUPER hot, and everyone downstairs was freezing.Luckily for us, we knew what we were getting into, but some people dont realize that some of the two bedroom apartments are actually one bedroom and a loft. So the upstairs bedroom has no door. This would probably be best for roommates, or people who dont mind the openness, or maybe if you just want extra room in your apartment. We found our neighbors loft was more closed off than ours though, so youll just have to find one that works for you.Lately theyve been increasing everyones rent significantly once their lease is up, so either plan on that, or plan on only staying a year. The lease says no dogs over 40lbs, and no to certain breeds, but they dont check or even care. So youre going to see a lot of dogs that may even be pushing 100lbs. A lot of people have dogs that bark constantly too and they do nothing about it. Ive heard peoples dogs attack other dogs in the parking lots as well, and people get away with walking dogs off leash, even though its required to keep them on a leash. If youre afraid of dogs, especially big ones, DO NOT rent here. Ive even heard people in the office saying that if you have a dog theres no reason to put it on the lease, so most arent even registered. Its really easy for cats to get over onto neighbors decks and what not, so be mindful of that too. (Though what would you expect with a cat.)The location is nice, and its pretty quiet since its not actually on any super busy sections of major roads. Its pretty much at the end of Salinas, but there are a lot of restaurants and a mall nearby. That being said, it is only convenient if you plan on staying mainly in Salinas or Castroville.I would not tell someone never to rent there, but Im happy not to be there anymore.
Whenever I have something leak make noise or anything wrong with my apartment they are always fast to respond and come with courtesy and candor and always get the job done right
Rudest place Ive ever dealt with.. moved out of my place and was told just bring the money well get u into your apt showed up the next day and the apt I had reserved was rented and the lady working that day denied my application and charged me 200.00 for an application so now Im staying in a hotel. these people are a dam joke wouldnt rent there if it was my only option
Management is a joke!!!! They let crackheads live in garages, people from the neighborhood just come in and use the pools and gym whenever. The apartment was a disgusting flea ridden mess when we moved in and they are still trying to charge us for carpet cleaning when we moved out. Slum Lords!!!
Worst place to live please people look for other. Place living here its a nightmare i cant wait to get out of here stupid regulations charge for everything the pool its being closed since I move here this place its the worst place to live
Never never ever rent these apartments its the worse place i have ever rent in my life just dont do it seriously 😡
Just Dont
I do not understand. I leave them messages, I mark them and nobody can attend me. They transfer my call to another office, then to another, hang up or do not answer. We already made the application, we paid, we sent it, I received a receipt, my husband had the money deducted from the card but he did not receive a receipt. I try and try to communicate by e-mail, by calls and they do not answer me. If you are not going to rent it to me, just tell me so as not to waste my time or money !! Here if they can read me?
More than anything the tranquility
These apartments are very nice quiet area we live very happy here
Disgustingly horrible
The facilities are beautiful
