This place was alright. I got the shellac with nail polish and the shellac on my nails doesnt look even. Especially on both my middle fingers. As it usually is, the workers were all Asian which is fine, but only a few of them understood any English. I couldnt explain to them that I needed some things on my nails fixed. I felt their prices were higher than other places, and they do not accept card so you have to use their ATM which charges a fee.

Victor is so detail orientated and funny! 100% recommend this salon.

I usually go to annie shes always been good and always took her time unfortunately this time i went in for a full set i LOVED THEM but within 2 days one popped off and i called to have it fixed the next day im explaining that they where lifting on the sides and that it got caught on something and popped she looked at me and looked at my hand and was telling something to the tech next to her and then looks at me again and says no i no see a problem at the point i said please take em all off ive been going to modern for years now but after that I WONT BE BACK AND ADVICE FOR ANYONE GOING NEXT TIME DONT GO TO ANNIE OR TONY! THEY RUSH WHAT THEY DO AND THE QUALITY IS BAD. I HAD A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Great place to get your nails done and a pedi. The people are wonderful at keeping my nails and feet looking good and they are friendly! Wish I could give them more than 5 stars.

Poor quality polish started chipping and peeling within hours of leaving. It took longer than anywhere else I have been to finish with the manicure. And they refused to refund me when I called to complain, they said they would fix it but I had already left Salem and I told them that.

I went to get a fill, color change, and a shape change. The gentleman that helped me has such an amazing attitude and was very patient and respectful to how I wanted my nails to be done. The service was amazing and professional. When I first walked in I was greeted nicely. I googled this salon because I was visiting Salem for work this place is true to their star rating. Got my fingernails painted on Monday June 15 2020 and the nail polish is all ready coming off on Wednesday June 17 2020. Two days thats it.

I love coming here! They are so nice and listen to exactly what I want every time and will redo a nail if it isnt how I want it. Tony and Victor are my go to guys but everyone is wonderful. So professional and really take their time.

I could not recommend this business to anyone. The elderly lady that did my pedicure did not trim my ingrown nails at all and just barely got through a weak service and did the minimum..she was nice though. My fill was okay, but the main reason for the low review is because they sat very close to me and did not wear their MASKS. When he painted my nails he did not use the clear barrier to protect me (or him). Very lax and there was NO business in there. Yikes!

I am very disappointed with the service I received here. They didn’t shape my nails and filed my nails with a used nail file. At the end when I saw my nails done there was hair cemented into my nail and i’m disgusted. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I ABSOLUTELY loved it here!! Got a full set of acrylic nails with Gel polish for $40. He made sure every detail of the nails where perfect. Kept going back and fixing things he himself noticed. Which was AMAZING! Super friendly, all males which definitely helped with having no drama “tension” inside. (Big problem I feel at most salons).The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because from what I saw they did not use new files on my nails. (I will be bringing my own from now on) but other than that BEST EXPERIENCE.

Im writing this on behalf of my wife:She mentioned that they were prompt, efficient, and courteous. She liked that the conversation was pleasant but not intrusive. Apparently, some other establishments asked questions of a more personal nature than she would have preferred. She found that the actual nails service was superior to other places shed gone and inexpensive as well.

They did my nails beautifully. I was shocked to see how cheap they were compared to the many places I have been before. Definitely my new spot to get my nails done.

Ok I have now lived in salem OR for two years and I finally found my watering hole for nails. I came in today for a full set acrylic manicure and pedicure. Tony took care of me. He is great at what he does and really puts love and patience into his work. We had great conversation and he did a beautiful job on my coffin style request. Thank you Tony and modern nails! I will most definitely be back.

I moved here a year ago and this is the first nail salon that I went into where the people weren’t rude. They were very nice got me in within 30 mins and Tony did an amazing job and was very nice.

I got a filled cost me 40 dollars, not sure why.. also my nails look awful. They are lumpy the shape isnt consistent. The polish is running down the side into my nail bed. I left having to file them. Not sure why I would pay so much to have to fix them myself I told the guy the errors and he didnt offer to fix them

I stopped getting my nails done for years cause they always cut my fingers up so badly it wasn’t worth it to me. Tom did my nails and was AMAZING didn’t even cut me once. He was extremely kind too and listened and did exactly I wanted. I recommend this place for sure

I dont get pedicures or manicures often, but thought that they did a really nice job at scheduling an appointment for a pedicure. Nice and clean shop. The tech was really nice and professional. Not sure if its common, but they provide a pedicure kit (small fee) for each customer to reuse next time they come which seems very sustainable and cleanly. I love the pedicure and foot massage. Definitely will use them again next time.

They were friendly and professional. The place was clean and spacious and the services were just what I was wanting. Their prices are reasonable and you get a lot with what you pay.

The only reason they deserve a star is because Victor is good at what he does, and the first two times I went in he did my nails and they were wonderful. The last time I was in was on Monday, January 7, 3019. I went in for a fill, and was charged $30. When I left I looked at my nails and realized that every surface was wavy, and every edge was jagged. Also, the color from the prior fill was still showing all around the edges of my cuticles. The next day, the gel polish had chipped off my acrylic nails and I was able to see that my natural nail had separated from the acrylic. Upon further examination, I realized that was the case on all of my natural nails. These issues should have been addressed at the time of the fill. I called back on Tuesday and asked to have the issues corrected at no charge. I was told that would not be a problem. When I went back in today, I asked that they just remove the acrylics and put a gel coat over my natural nails. The acrylic would have needed to be removed for the issues to be corrected, and i had already paid for the gel polish when i had my full done. The technician popped off my nails, and took the remaining acrylic with the file. She applied the gel polish and the results were atrocious. I explained that I was unhappy that I was charged for a fill that needed to be removed just a day later, then she charged me $15 for the gel polish that I already had paid for when the crummy fill was done. I was incredibly unhappy. I will not be coming back, I will be finding a new salon and I will be recommending everyone I know to go elsewhere. Victor, I’m sorry you have been amazing, but twice I’ve left unhappy, and had to pay for it each time.

The staff are welcoming & extremely nice. They listen to your requests & along the process they check with you to make sure youre content with the nail size & shape. If youre getting a design on your nail/s and youre not happy with how it came out, they are quick to fix it without making you feel uncomfortable. Theyre prices are also fairly good!

Went in the other day for the first time excited to go into a new salon. Ended up coming out very disappointed.Not only did the lady doing my nails not communicate anything to me concerning my nails, she was a mute basically the whole time I was in there. I asked for a full set with a French tip, which I had never tried out before. I didn’t know that if you have small nailbeds French tips will possibly not come out looking as nice. She failed to explain that to me and went straight to doing my nails. When I started seeing they were not looking the way I wanted, I told her to just paint over them with gel polish. I walked out of there so disappointed and I will not be going back.

Unfortunately will not become my home salon. I was placed with an inexperienced, nice young lady completely unable to communicate with me and I with her. The man nearby had to translate while dealing with his own client. Their colors were scattered different places so I could not find my color, which they did actually have. The girl could not understand me. The sparkle used is garish, and they DID have the sparkle I needed but, again, in a totally different spot. And the girl could not communicate with me about it. She could not communicate well enough to understand she cut some nails too short and others were left longer; and some of them square and some of them round. One was crooked and even with great effort I could not get her to fix it. The other salon downtown was a really bad experience for me bc the men make older ladies like me feel ugly and like they hate to touch our feet. I had originally determined never to go back since Id had three such experiences at their shop in downtown Salem. Deciding to give them a try in my neighborhood, I had asked for a female and got this inexperienced, non-English speaking young lady who did her best, but it was not satisfactory. They were all very nice, it is a nice low-key salon, good location for me. I gave her her five dollar tip anyway. But this was not a pedicure worth $30, and my need to be polite every step of the way as repeated efforts to communicate color/effect/pedicure basics were unable to be understood, I opted to just accept what I got and move on.

Cony is very knowledgeable and has the softest hands. My pedicure was such a relaxing experience. (Nearly fell asleep).Love this place now, dont know why I didnt try them before. Overall great service and loved my French tip. Pedí. Thank you 😊Update. My French tip only lasted 2 and a half days before it started to chip off.🙁Not cool.

The guy didn’t glue both of my thumb nails right and shaped them crooked. He didn’t blend the white & pink together at all and the glitter is lumpy and he was very aggressive with my nails my thumb started to burn

They just rushed through the service, my nails turned out way too thick and wavy it was not a smooth surface I paid over 50$ for a full set and ended up filing them down the next day because of how thick they where. Very quick very unpersonal and very careless in how they did my nails. I can say I wont be going in there again.

Walked in said hello a couple of workers said hi and let me know that the barber is on the back. I found my way and introduced myself and the barber Bob cut my hair. I thought it would cost me 25 dollars but its less than that Bob charged me 14.00.

Not a good place to go unless, you are okay with the employees sharing files between customers and not cleaning tools between customers. The nail tech I had was so rough with my cuticles, he made my fingers bleed! Zero stars!

I went in because my old salon sold the store and a peraon a like worked here but he wasnt in. Annie did my eyebrows great and her husband did a good job on my pedicure. Annie Didnt let my nail polish dry. As soon. As her husband finished putting a clear coat on my nails they made me pay and annie said ok goodbye you go now my nails were wet and a toe smeared when her husband put my shoes back on... every other sLon Ive been to lets my. Ails dry before leaving ahe made me leave as soon as they put the clear coat on.

Finally I found a place that treats you like a human being and actually gives you what you ask for! Im very pleased every time I go there.
