Short Version: I had to schedule twice due to issues with the techs, the tech was nearly an hour late when he finally showed up, I was charged $129 for 5 minutes, and my microwave is still not repaired.Long Version: The microwave portion of our microwave-oven wall unit needed to be repaired. I called Sears Appliance Repair to set up an appointment. The representative was nice, but kept referring to it as an oven repair when I kept specifying it was a microwave repair. I was excited when they scheduled me for an appointment the very next day. I was given a time window between 1 and 5. I received a text the next morning that the tech would be arriving later in the afternoon. That time passed and as of 4:50 I had not heard anything. I called and was put in contact with the tech. He informed me that he had broken down on his way to my home and would have to reschedule. I rescheduled for the following week. I was again given a time frame of between 1 and 5. I informed the representative who scheduled the appointment that I had to leave my home on that date no later than 6 so the person had to be there absolutely no later than 5. The date of the second appointment came. As of 5 I had not received any communication at all so I assumed the tech was going to be a now show again. At 5:40 my husband called to tell me that the tech had gone to a shop that was on our property instead of our home. (This was incredibly annoying as the shop and home have completely separate drive ways and our address is marked by our home driveway. I have never had another delivery service make this mistake. In fact, usually deliveries for our shop default to our home.) The tech arrived at the home 5 minutes later. I explained that I had to leave, but he could do a quick inspection and give me a quote. He spent 5 minutes diagnosing the problem, then gave me a quote that was absolutely astronomical for the repair, and then wanted to charged me $129 for the 5 minutes he spent there after he was nearly an hour late. Needless to say I will NEVER use Sears Appliance Repair again.

My overall Repair took 3 weeks based on ongoing telephone customer service conversations. It finally came to a conclusion on 9/10 which a text verified I was on the schedule. When no on showed up, and I again was on hold for up to 1:05, that prompted an abrupt cancellation of service on 9/10 to service on 9/13 rates 2 out of 10. It was one of the most ineffective and unprofessional service calls Ive ever experienced. I will avoid using this service due to the lack of personal real person support. Additionally I will Yelp both LG and A & E so that other customers will not purchase the products you serve.

We called Sears out for a dishwasher repair because our dishwasher was not draining and would not run. Before I could even get a service call scheduled over the phone I had to listen to a lengthy sales pitch for a whole litany of different monthly plans related to warranty. It was a pretty hard sell that was time-consuming and annoying. The technician came and said there was glass in the pump and that we had to order a new one, which Sears did, and scheduled an appointment for over two weeks later. The water in the bottom of the dishwasher was left there, and the estimate of total cost, including the $80 part, was over $400. I called later to question to estimate and was told it was typical. The part didnt come on time, so the return service had to be delayed another 4 days. A different technician came the second time. He got into the dishwasher, drained it and found that he could just remove the glass and the dishwasher worked fine - we hadnt needed the new part. He also took the new part back and didnt charge us nearly as much as the estimate. He did go through trying to sell all the different warranty packages, but when I insisted that we werent interested and pressed him, he said that he was required to make the offers. If Sears had sent out the second technician first and if they had had not insisted on trying to sell all these warranty packages, this rating would be a 5 instead of a 1.

I diagnosed the problem myself. I did an online chat with a SearsPartsDirect person. I bought two parts (a touchpad/control board and a gasket). They were expensive ($385). I was thinking about doing the repair myself, but asked specifically what it would cost to have Sears do the installation. They told me I could wait until I received the parts and that Sears would then do the installation for $99.99, If I so desired. I received the control board and decided to have Sears do it. They then told me that it would be $100 plus $129 ($229). They called it a diagnostic fee, even though I diagnosed it myself. The installer called it a fee to come to the house.

One technician came, thinks he found the problem with the dishwasher. Ordered a very expensive part, which took 1-1/2 weeks to arrive. A different technician came to install the part 1-1/2 weeks later, but turns out that was not problem. There was a completely different problem that the first technician did not find, but charged me for anyway. $289 and the problem has not been repaired and now they estimate another $500 to fix the actual real problem that was not found by the first technician. The second technician, that installed the unnecessary part, knew that the problem was not addressed, but charged me anyway. I can do the math -- 2 thieves, unscrupulous business practice

I requested an emergency service with Sears. I booked this same service about a year and knew exactly what I needed. When the technician came to my house, I was told that the appointment was booked as a repair and I was charged for the technician to spend less than 1 minute telling me what I needed to have done and also charged another fee for the service when I explained to the representative exactly which service that I wanted. I was supposed to be charged for the service only. Sears took advantage because of COVID-19 to charge me twice. As a loyal customer, I feel that I was taken advantage of and charged an additional fee because of greed. I will not useSears any longer! Sears is GREEDY even when their existence is in jeopardy!!

I would give zero stars if i could. I had a Sears technician out to troubleshoot my Freezer yesterday. He quoted me $1400 to repair my freezer due to a gas leak. I got a second opinion over the phone and the other company asked me to look under my freezer on the coils to see if the coils were dirty. They were covered in lint and dust, so i vacuumed it out and now my freezer works great. I am beyond disgusted at the lack of simple troubleshooting skills of the Sears repair man. The Tech even looked under my freezer and didnt even say anything about the coils being dirty. HORRIBLE repair man.

Third party repair is the best way to go. In other words not a Sears repair representative. Sears sends their own repair and they never have parts are usually disgruntled. On my latest repair request I was given the option of third party or a Sears representative. Third party would arrive sooner so I accepted that choice much to the objection of the Sears representative on the phone. Third party repair shows up and repairs the same day! Even noticed more repair was needed and returned with parts and again repaired! The five stars is for third party repair service not Sears. Russian gentlemen, professional, efficient and courteous. Even though his English was broken he fixed the problem. Couldnt be more impressed. His company was a property management type wish I could recall the name. I suggest buy the extended warranty especially for washers but request third party repair service. Sears used to be reputable but hasnt been in years.

This past summer, my Sears riding mower had its starter go out. I called Sears and they sent a repairman out, who diagnosed the problem for the $99 fee, which I agreed to, and then said I had 3 days to decide whether or not to use them. Hed have to make a return trip after ordering parts, anyway. Very nice, and professional in all aspects. He gave me his card, which had an 800 number to call. The next day, I decided I would use Sears, and have this guy do the repair, since he had diagnosed it. Instead of reaching a local repair call center, I discovered that I was speaking to a foreigner in the Phillippines! He also said I would have to pay an additional diagnostic fee, which I questioned, because it had already been diagnosed the day before, and I was calling within the time limit. He tried to tell me that what the repairman told me is not Sears policy, and that I would have to pay the additional diagnostic fee, and he could not guarantee that I would have the same repairman. I said Forget it! and found a real American locally, who repaired it and charged $415, instead of over $600 that I would have paid Sears. I will never buy from Sears again.

The service employee was easy to work with. But all I needed was a $160.00 part (a plug in circuit board). I figured I could get the part the same day if I paid for a diagnostic visit and then install a circuit board myself and save $300.00. But, the part could not be sold from the truck, and it had to be ordered. I called customer service, and the assister seemed more interested in sending out a service rep than helping me get a part more quickly. After some direct conversation I finally got a shipping number for delivery seven days after the first visit. During the conversation I asked to speak to a supervisor and the phone assister hung up. Not a good experience. I have no reason to use Sears Appliance Repair again. Im sure I would have had no worse an experience if I had randomly selected any other company. And besides, I could have revived the part overnight if I had simply ordered it on the web.

We were charged $114.81 for an extended service agreement and $142.00 for labor. The online reminder stated it was Minimum Charge: $79.00 The minimum charge is the cost to have a tech come to your home and provide a repair estimate. If you decide to proceed with the repair, then the minimum charge will go toward the final cost of repairs. But if you decline the repair, you’ll still be responsible for the minimum charge. The service technician stated we did not have in their system a agreement or it expired. I contact the online chat sears tech they stated we had in the system a master agreement that would expire in November 2016. We were overcharged for the whole service charge $256.81. When I chatted with the online chat they stated they would open a file to process the refund. We received a email stating we were denied the refund. WOW!!!! Even though we had purchased a warranty that was still covered. After being the phone with a sales rep for over one hour due to her not having the ability to find our account and stating she could not find the receipt on their end that we paid with a credit card she stated it was paid in cash. I am not able to post zero start. That is what I would want to postMy dryer stopped working in late August. Contacted Sears to get it fixed and had scheduled appointment for 8/29/17 between 10AM and 2PM. After the technician examined my dryer he determines that he does not have all the parts to repair my dryer. Follow up appointment scheduled for 9/8/17 to install the part that is being ordered to complete my repair. Technician completes the repair on 9/8/17, states that the dryer is working fine. Next day my wife starts a load in the dryer and the dryer shuts off after a minute or so. After retrying to start the dryer it kicks out an error code E1.On 9/9/17 reached out to Sears to get a technician back to fix whatever did not get fixed. Was told that the earliest appointment was 10/2/17. When I told the Sears call center that was not acceptable they said they would put me on a priority list and call me back in an hour. I was never called back. I called Sears back and was told the dispatcher for the priority list was not on the weekends. Called the Sears call center back on 9/11/17 to see when my new appointment would be. I was then told that I would be contact in 24-48 hours to get a new priority appointment. On 9/14/17 called the Sears call center to find out when my new appointment would be. At this time I was told that only if somebody else cancelled would I be able to re-schedule my 10/2/17 appointment to a sooner date. The Call center stated that somebody would call me if an appointment opened up sooner – I am somewhat doubtful that someone from Sears will call me.At this point I inquired about a refund. I was told that the original diagnostic fee of $89 is non-fundable. That only $65 of the $175 labor cost was refundable. Any parts that were defected would need to be sent back to the warehouse to determine if they are defective before I could receive a refund on the parts. So basically I am stuck waiting for somebody to cancel their appointment or till 10/2/17 to get my dryer repaired. At this point I will never be buying anything else from Sears. Never did they offer to discount my service or somehow make things right due to the original repair not working. Calling the call center does nothing other than be told there is nothing they can do. Just a very disappointing experience.

The technician identified the problem shortly after arriving. He did not fix the problem as it was not a problem with the unit but rather the 240V electrical supply to the unit. He was correct in his assessment. Our local electrical service technicians were here as soon as we scheduled them and they found several problems with the electrical supply and corrected all of them.

The experience was totally unacceptable. The technician first tried to deny that the warranty applied to the appliance, not true. The technician could not properly diagnose the problems. He left without arranging further service. Sears now says that the appliance is too old and that the warranty should not have been written. They did no offer to refund the price of the warranty. They deserve 0 stars, but that is not an option with this survey, so I got nothing and they got more than they deserve.

Bad company, thats why theyre going out of business! I called to fix my washer Kenmore Elite that I purchased from Sears and the charged me $99.00 to tell me its to old, the parts are no longer available. So why are you still charging me cuz you cant fix it. Good way to run a company into the ground and out of business.

Recently purchased the extended warranty for our washer and dryer and needed to call to service our dryer again (after it was serviced about 8 months ago). I am frustrated that it takes 2 weeks to schedule a service tech to come and fix my dryer. This time, unfortunately, the tech called in sick so I was contacted to reschedule my service call, had to wait another 2 weeks. I had to use a laundromat for 1 month. The service itself was good, when the technician did come out. I am frustrated because I paid for the extended warranty, waited 4 weeks for the fix, and had to spend money at the laundromat.

The repairman came on time and replaced the thermostat that was over-cooling the refrigerator that was purchased just 15 months ago. In fact the over-cooling was there since the day the new refrigerator was purchased. The technician fixed the problem in 15 minutes. But also gave some good advice on some maintenance tips on the dishwasher about how to remove scaling from hard water- and how to do in inexpensively. That worked exactly as he said it would.I would have given 4 stars but for the following reason.I was covered by the extended Protection Package(extended warranty) and did not have to pay. But I was surprised to see the bill (I was covered by the warranty) that changing a part that was less than $10 cost $375. So since the labor cost was not high, it seems that by inference the overhead very high. So it has two lessons: 1) Always buy a warranty; and/or 2) Do not buy an appliance where the repair for a low priced part and minimal labor still costs half the price of the refrigerator.

The technician showed up around 6 pm and didnt do anything! The call was supposed to be between 1-5pm. He never called to say he was going to be late. When I called the service number around 4:35pm, he called me back saying he was in south Sacramento and acted like he didnt really want to come to my house. When he arrived, he looked at the freezer briefly, said it would cost too much to repair and he wasnt going to do anything. He said was going to give it to his supervisor and let him handle it. He appeared not to be in a good mood and I was very disappointed in his actions. If is going on 8 weeks and my freezer is still not working properly. There have been 7 service calls, 2 parts replaced and the tech is coming out to replace one of the parts that we already replaced again. As of 3/16/18 there have been 2 more service calls and the freezer is still not working...

The 3 technicians that came to my house were very nice and professional. I just wished that someone had told me that I would be having 3 technicians and that I would be waiting all morning and into the afternoon to accommodate each of them. I had received only 1 notice that I was first on the route. The first technician did show up shortly after 8am, but would only look at my dryer. For some reason it took 2 other technicians to take care of the rest of my appliances. I received no other calls informing me of their appointed times. I have no problem with the technicians. I have a problem with the lack of communication prior to all of these visits.

Have been waiting for almost 3 weeks for repairs. Had an appointment on the 23rd of October, and now Im told the parts are not in yet. Theyve been dinking around with our washer for months, and cant fix it. Every repair person says its okay, and its not. And weve been paying $50.00 a month for insurance on this dud of a machine. Customer service is not sure when the parts will be in. With the money spent on insurance and service calls we could have bought a new machine. Makes me sick.

A sears technician came to our home on Monday, August 22nd to check out our dishwasher that had not been working. The website states that the fee will be $59 and that covers the following: The diagnostic fee is the cost to have a tech come to your home and provide a repair estimate. If you decide to proceed with the repair, your total costs will include the diagnostic fee and labor, plus any parts and applicable sales tax. If you decline the repair, you will still be responsible for the diagnostic fee.The technician came out and tried to assess the problem. He looked at the pump, motherboard, and unplugged/plugged in our dishwasher. He then charged us $84.99. This was made up of the $59 diagnostic fee and an extra $25.99 fee. On the receipt, the $25.99 fee is labeled as PM Regular (CC Only). The technician told me that fee was for looking at the dishwasher for the problem. I believe assessing the problem should be part of the diagnostic fee.In addition, the technician should have informed us that he was about to perform a service and the price of that service BEFORE he performed it so that we could have a choice in incurring the additional cost. I contacted the business on Monday at the number above to ask questions. They stated that they would escalate the issue to their billing department and I should hear back in 24 hours. On Tuesday, I had not heard anything so I called again. They told me it can take up to 48 hours to get a response. On Wednesday, I still had not heard anything and called again. They looked up my account andsaid someone from billing will certainly call me by the end the day.On Thursday, I still had not heard anything. I called again and was escalated to a supervisor named Ed. He informed me that there was no record of a billing dispute made on my account even though I had been assured the dispute had been submitted on Monday. He stated that he submitted another dispute and that I should hear back in 24-48 business hours. I stated that I had no confidence in their commitment to call me back as they had promised the same on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The issue is still unresolved.I asked the business to provide me with confirmation of the billing dispute escalation but Ed stated that he was unable to send me a copy of the email nor a dispute case number. The business is working very deceptively and its customer agents are giving customers the roundabout in order to avoid reimbursing me for the over payment.

Our technician, Avi, was on time, clear about the service needed, neat and clean, polite, responsive to all our questions and needs and supportive of my disabled adult sons needs for his treadmill. Over the years of us using Sears warranties Avi has been here to service our equipment many times. His outstanding service is what drives me to continue to purchase the warranties on our equipment. He is a real asset to Sears and delivers Sears services with fiduciary care and commitment.

In early November I asked this place of business to services my new microwave. The first visit went well, and parts where ordered to fix the magi tron. Within 2 weeks later they showed up with the wrong part. Now I am very understanding person and gave them the ben-fit of doubt that mistakes happen. Human nature right? Never the less after that visit this company left me in the dark. 3 month later still no service, and my patience was running out. Microwave is a huge item for your household. When I called again, and again I was met with excuses. After the last phone conversation I asked to speak to management. Like a robot she could only say the same thing over. They are waiting for the parts to show up to my house. I felt like I had to do there job. They should be sending the parts to there office, and bringing it to the client. Either way 3 months later nothing got done. She became frustrated over the fact that her answer was not satisfactory to my complaint. What I wanted to hear was a solution instead she hung the phone up!!! I received an email stating my services where canceled. I was by far not rude to her. This was not how you run a business. I am hoping that the owner can see this, and make the necessary correction to improve there business. Unfortunate sears is going out of business every where. I needed a thermal fuse for a kenmore dryer. I looked up the part and said it was at Sears Arden location. Drove here and cant find any associates. 5 minutes later I found one young lady that told me the home appliances was upstairs. Of course the escalator was not operating. I had to leave the store to find a working escalator that went upstairs. Walked around upstairs and I finally found N associate that couldnt help me because it was her department. I waited patiently as the other associate was helping an upset customer with their return. When they were finished, I asked them for the appliance repair department so I can purchase my fuse and they told me that department is not at this location. Please update your website!
