I bought a 2002 Ford Focus from there and he said there where no problems with the car. It was my daughters first car. Now 2 1/2 weeks later the car won’t start all kind of lights are on . I’m very disappointed. I would not recommend nobody to buy from here. Now where out of over a thousand dollar.

Came to get an inspection done with a few questions about a weird noise my vehicle was making. Not only did Dennis and Theresa get me right in, but they were able to help me warranty out another mechanics bad work, and fix the problem I had with ease and speed. They were extremely conscious on time for me knowing I needed my vehicle to get my kids picked up. If your looking for a reliable place that will do good work at a good price, this is the place to go, they’re honest and friendly! Won’t be going anywhere else!

Thank you Dennis and Theresa for saving us on our way home from Labor Day 2019! We called everyone from Licking to Rolla and you were the only one open for holiday emergency service. Because of your hard work and prayers we made to your shop and home safe to St. Louis. Between the shade, office and pleasant company our 3 hours went by quickly. Also, your grandson’s yellow friend says hi.

My car suddenly quit running one day, so I called for a tow. They came out within 15 minutes to tow my car. Within 3 hours, I received a call about the problem, and within 24 hours I had my car back to me all fixed! They answered any and all of my questions very thoroughly, and the tow was super reasonable at $50! I recommend them definitely if you’re looking for a reliable local business.

I am a travel nurse and was on my way home from Rolla when I had a blow out and didnt have a spare. I called them and they came and towed me back to the shop and put a tire on my wheel. The care was awesome they kept calling me updating me on when they would be there and they didnt charge me a fortune. I have their number saved in my phone and will be using them again if I have any mechanical problems because I feel like they are very trustworthy and dependable

These folks saved our vacation. We drove off the highway with a flat temporary spare and a cracked rim. Dennis was there with a row truck in about 20 minutes and his wife drove us to the hotel. He was able to repair our rim and get us back on the road the very next day. To top it off his wife pick us up at the hotel and drove us back to the shop to pick up our car,no extra charge. Great people genuinely happy to help us out. We are very grateful for their help.

These folks are live savors. They literally saved our vacation. When we experienced an issue on our vacation they were the only place open on a Saturday afternoon. They could have easily turned me away until Monday. They were able to fit me in and resolve the issue for me. They were great to work with and very reasonably priced. We cannot thank them enough!!!!!

Absolutely FANTASTIC service. My husband, mother and 2 small kids were stranded overnight in Rolla when our Dodge Grand Caravan broke down. Of course it was 1030 on a Friday night when we got stranded. Googled towing services first thing Saturday morning and decided we would try Cedar Grove as they had towing and repair hours on Saturday and they had a good rating on Google. They had us towed and back on the road before 1:00 Saturday afternoon! Can’t say enough great things about our experience with them. They made a horrid situation better!

I was scheduled to have my vehicle inspected at 1 p.m. on October 15th. My plans fell through earlier that morning for another event that I was to attend . I contacted him and asked him if I could get my vehicle in earlier for a vehicle inspection and he he advised me that he was willing to work it into his schedule to bring the vehicle by at 10 a.m. very pleasant, very professional and courteous. He completed a very thorough investigation on my vehicle. I would recommend him to anybody in Rolla great guy great customer service.

Great experience to work with these guys. I had several other quotes from various repair shops in town in order to replace my rear brake pads and rotors (Zanes Engine and Garage wanted to charge me $600 for parts and 2 hours of labor can you believe it?). The labor to replace both rear brakes was for $40 and it was done within the hour I got there after buying the parts from Autozone. Fantastic service.

My name is Ralph Gallow and I am a retired Fireman from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.I was driving from Wisconsin to Texas and my 98 Cadillac STS began to overheat severely. I pulled over and knew I needed a mechanic. It was a Saturday morning and of the shops that I called, Theresa of Cedar Grove answered immediately and instantly began to give incredible service. A tow was offered, but with their shop being so conveniently located, I decided to nurse my car to their shop in increments.Once there, Dennis took charge and stayed with my car until he had determined the water pump tensioner pulley was bad and had the part delivered in what seemed like 2 minutes.Dennis also addressed several other areas of the cooling system to eliminate any chance of secondary overheating problems. All while I was standing nearby watching.Dennis is an excellent mechanic!Dennis is also an Army veteran, so is his wife, which is huge for me since my son is career Army and any time I find a Soldier in the public sector now, I am so glad I can patronize their business. Add to that, their service is outstanding, skill level is also outstanding. And after doing such a great job, he didnt overcharge one penny. Even though I threw a wrench in his whole day, he charged me a very fair price for the time and materials. If I lived in this area, this repair shop would be my regular mechanic!!Dennis & Theresa, thank you so much and may God bless you and your business!!!

We had been on vacation for 2 weeks and we were heading back to Louisville KY when the check engine light started flashing on our Chrysler Town & Country and we started shaking/vibrating when accelerating and idling. There weren’t many service places open on Saturday so we stopped at one place and they couldn’t couldnt service us until Monday. We then called the local Chrysler dealership and one other place nearby and they couldn’t get us in... so we found Cedar Grove Auto on Google and they had good reviews (and another’s family in crisis ok vacation just 2 weeks prior!) and Dennis was able to squeeze us in and replace our fuel injector in just a few hours. He was very accommodating, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced even though we surprised him and kind of put him under the gun to make it home same day. We couldn’t have asked for better service from nicer folks in an “unfamiliar-to-us” town. His wife was also a peach when she came out to assist us so we could pay the bill and be on our way. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for down-to-earth, knowledgeable people who offer great service! Thank you guys!!!!

I was friends with Dennis junior (the younger one), who works at Cedar Grove, UNTIL I had him work on my car. The car had been sitting for a couple of years, mostly in a garage. I asked Dennis to get it roadworthy for trips to KC that I needed to take. I drove the car to his shop, and he replaced a bad alternator and brake lines. However, he missed that the car was lacking coolant and oil.Lacking coolant, the car was overheating at his shop as we were there. After the overheating, Dennis began pouring cold water into the radiator. As I understand, not allowing the engine to cool first after an overheat before adding coolant is a rookie mistake, but I stood and watched as he did it. Jets of steam spurted from the radiator as he kept in cold water. It felt wrong at the time to let him do this, but since he was the expert (or so I thought at the time), I allowed it, which I now deeply regret.Sure enough, once the car was re-started, I could tell by its sound that there was something seriously wrong. Since that time Ive often had problems starting the car. Sometimes it would spurt white smoke from under the hood or from the tailpipe.I believed that the car had engine damage. Dennis told me that it was just bad gas, and that if the car had engine damage, it would run poorly all of the time, not just when attempting to start the vehicle.I went on a website of experts to ask about the car issues I was experiencing. I learned that pouring cold water into the radiator after a severe overheat can warp the engine, crack the block, or damage the head gasket. What the expert said fit the symptoms of the problem precisely, and also went against Denniss assertions. I took out the spark plugs when the car died at ORileys, and saw water droplets on the spark plug from the first cylinder, which confirmed engine or head gasket damage. I was able to start the car after drying out the first cylinder. I then also poured head gasket sealer into the radiator, which has appeared to help, as the car has improved significantly, but still has serious issues, and I dont feel safe taking it on long trips.I understand that people make mistakes, including mechanics. It is only human. What makes me angry is when people make excuses and try to deflect responsibility for their mistakes. This unfortunately is what Dennis did. Dennis tried to make me believe that the engine problems were a result of the car sitting unused for a long time. But there is no way this could be the case; the car did not have the engine problems until immediately after the incident I described in the second paragraph. He also attempted to blame me for the car lacking coolant and oil. But he knew the car had been sitting for two years, and had agreed to take care of everything needed to make it roadworthy. Under these circumstances, he should have checked these things himself. On top of everything, he hung up on me (lol).Listen to me, avoid this place AT ALL COSTS. If you go to this place, you risk similar things happening to you. I 100% stand by this review. In response to the owners response to the original review (above), I have this to say:Dennis Junior came to my house to look at the car in person. He was in my garage. He saw the car before it was even started. I explained to him in person that I needed the car ready for trips to Kansas City. I explained that I wanted him to take care of everything I needed to make my car ready for trips to KC. I used almost those exact words. Everything means everything. This includes coolant and oil. I was in effect turning the car in its condition as it was at that time into Denniss care, and he understood this. He also Ok-ed the drive to the car shop himself before I drove it at all, saying that as far as he knew, it should be ok.Also, you said that an engine noise was heard before Dennis added the coolant, and that he waited for it to cool? This is UNTRUE. I was THERE. He added the coolant immediately after it was discovered that the engine was hot. Only after did the engine exhibit damage.

I thought they would be a step up from Johns Firestone in Rolla, however it turns out they are the same just at a slower pace. 1. They gave us an estimate that was lower than everyone else to do some major work done to my car. Then when I went to pay it turned out to be much much higher than everyone else. Later it turned out to be much much higher than that because of other work they claimed needed to be done but I will get to that in a second. 2. They said they would have the work done by the time I was supposed to go on vacation a week later. I thought this was crazy but not impossible as it was some major work and they would have to focus on my car alone to get it done. I go in a week later and they hadnt even towed it yet and didnt have the part. Then acted like I was crazy for thinking it would be finished. They told me they would then have it done by wednesday. This one wasnt the end of the world for me until 3 happened. 3.(I went on vacation the next day) Thursday I was on vacation and contacted my mom to see if she had picked the car up yet for me. She said that it wasnt finished yet and that they have told her it now needed other major work done and were texting her I should be patient. 😡 I had been patient very patient I believed given that they had now lied to me 3 times and didnt get any of the things I asked them to do done and then had to shell out even more money and werent notifying the correct person of what was going on. 4. When I got home from vacation I decided to shell out the last of the money I would pay them and hope and pray as I had now spent a little over 3000 dollars (to cedar grove) that they finished and got it done correctly. Once they get it all back together they informed me that now they had to take it apart again to do more major work. I Informed them as by this time they had it a month I would be picking up my car. 😡😡😡 we went and got our car and it seemed to be running ok the only issue seemed to be that all their work was done with electrical tape and the window and air conditioner no longer worked and some other unimportant parts (plastic coverings) were simply sitting in my back seat (this wasnt as important to me as it actually working correctly). About 2 days later it began having the original problems it had when I first got the car a little over a half year ago and so we took it to get those checked and the new mechanics told us that there were parts scraping from it being put together inproperly they fixed this free of charge but now once again we have to have the rack n pinion (dont know how this is said or spelled still?) Replaced again which should have been a new part given that we just had it replaced right before taking it to cedar grove.(they also told us that the part they were trying to replace at cedar grove tested fine) I almost wrecked today as the wheel jerked left on its own going around a corner. Now I am out of funds as all in all I trusted two businesses to fix my car shelled out nearly 10,000 dollars between the two and a bank to buy the car. (Actual price of the car was 2000 the rest went to the two businesses) I am sad to say I dont know if there is such thing as an honest mechanic anymore or if there is even one that knows what to do in Rolla at all or I just have the worst luck imaginable. Any recomendations would be nice and accepted.
