Rochester Lapidary is my favorite jewelry store - beautiful, highest quality products and always amazing things to look at (their gem and mineral collection is awesome). Yesterday I stopped in for a significant repair - I bent one of the prongs of my wedding ring and the diamond was loose. I was prepared to leave the ring there for a while - but instead, the staff at Rochester Lapidary fixed the ring while I waited, at no charge. When they returned it to me it sparkled like a brand-new ring. Again, no charge, and I was just a walk-in. This is what customer service should be - I was thrilled. Add this to the long list of reasons why I drive to Rochester from the Twin Cities when I have jewelry needs. Thank you!

Brought in my grandmother’s necklace that I had recently been gifted. I planned to add her birthstone to the current metal design. Staff was friendly and very helpful. With the help of staff, I was able to find a stone and design to my liking. Now 3 weeks until I can give a review on how it turned out.

I went in to order a mothers ring for my daughters birthday and received great customer service. Every ring I looked at she priced and displayed on computer so I could see it in advance. Even though they were busy she never rushed me. I told them the date I needed it by and they ensured it would be in and get fitted for her by her birthday. I still had time to spare. I would highly recommend coming here for all your jewelry needs. I know it has been a long time family business that has been here forever because my son 26 years ago came here at 8 years old to buy his mom a mother/child pendant with a family friend and the owner at the time drew up a little contract for my son to sign to make payments with his allowance to my his mom a Christmas gift. I have always been impressed with that story cause my son talked to just about every jewelry store in Rochester and Lapidary jewelers was the only one who was touched by his attempt. I brought a precious ring in to replace a stone that had fallen out. Even though they didnt have exactly the stone I was looking for, I was shown something so similar that I cant tell the difference. I brought it in on a Monday and was told it would probably be a week to get it back. It was ready 2 days later! Amazing service and extremely reasonable pricing. They even cleaned and reshaped a different ring I brought in...at no charge. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

RLJ has always been my jeweler- there is no other who compare to the customer service, quality, and trust. They have a beautiful selection of ready to purchase merchandise but I’ve personally used their talents in the designing of my wedding rings. Don Kirchhoff would be proud of the legacy he has left his son Adam and how Adam is continuing that standard of excellence. I recently visited to have my rings cleaned. It was another positive experience with his staff. We even got to swap stories. My first ring was made by Don and his staff back in 1989. I will be sending my son to RLJ for his future wife’s custom ring as well.

They did an amazing job customizing a piece of jewelry for me and it was done a day ahead of time to boot. Friendly and very personable to work with.

I was more than pleased with the final product as I have always been. I was extremely disappointed that a 10 day turnaround ended up being 90 days without communication outside of me calling inquiring on the status while missing a birthday and an anniversary which this surprise would have worked well for. Needless to say it was no longer a surprise. The clerk also didn’t have any reason for the delay other than telling me “it happens”.

I had lost an earring which was had a not so common stone. They were able to find a matching stone in very similar color and size and remount in a different style. I am very pleased with the final product.

Highly disappointed! Found out my gifted diamond earrings from here costed double the price compared to other jewelers for the same type, design, and quality. They do not do refunds so be careful before purchasing. Would highly recommend comparing other places first before purchasing from here.
