I’ve been seeing Kari now for years, and was super excited that she decided to open her own business with a partner. Her and the staff there are absolutely amazing. I have never had an issue with any cut and she’s been more accommodating whenever I need to reschedule or offer an earlier time. In the office I always get compliments on my hair and refer them to talking heads to get a superb cut. Honestly I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else, especially when Kari and her other staff make you feel at home. If your looking to get a really great haircut or any other service that they offer, you will not be disappointed.

Awesome shop, truly a unique Rochester business. Do yourself a favor and go see this place at least once! Everyone is fun and inviting and professional, and their cuts/colors are top notch!

A simple haircut was a disaster. Saig is new at the salon, did an absolutely horrible job (each side of my head was cut into a completely different style and length) and the salon refused to arrange for corrections. As independent stylists, the only option was to let her try again. No thanks, I just disputed the charge with my credit card company and they agreed the charge should be reversed. My suggestion is to never pay cash (thank you USAA!) and keep a very close watch every step of the way. Also, dont expect to be offered a wash, a dry or even a second mirror to check the results. Live and learn.

What can I say about this parlor and shop? Oh I know, it is the best. Cari is amazingly deft with her styling and conversation. I have been to many stylists and she is the best. The pandemic hit and I couldn’t get my hair cut but because she is so talented my hair looked great after four months.The shop is clean. The curiosities are fun. The staff are friendly. You can even pay in advance! Special circumstances have made my experiences there better and better each time. Thank you Cari!

Great location that is highly accessible and has super cute/spooky decor! The pops of color and eclectic furnishings make for a fun experience. Jen Fowler is an amazing hair stylist and colorist who takes the time to listen and knows her clientele! Not to be missed!

Anessa is an amazing hairstylist and colorist! She does a phenomenal job with highlight/lowlights and cuts and is a magician when it comes to blending in the grays. Her dynamic, inclusive personality makes you feel immediately welcome and cared for when youre in her salon chair. I now live 400+ miles away but still come to Talking Heads when Im in town because shes that great!Plus, I love the ambiance at Talking Heads... it makes me feel like Im getting my hair done at LUX on South Avenue. Chill, alternative, vibe!

Honestly incredible!!!! The best salon experience Ive had. Everyone is so kind and welcoming and the design of the parlor is SO sick. Anna cut my hair and she was so so friendly and my hair looks amazing!

Kari does such a fantastic job, my family goes to her exclusively. I started going to her and one time brought my 16 year old son along. Since he’s had his hair cut here, he can’t go anywhere else. She’s truly an artist in her craft.The new shop is stunning with a roomy relaxed atmosphere. It’s like a place you would want to visit again and again. The entire experience is a relaxing time out from the day to day grind.Strongly recommend!

This place is awesome. Kari does a great job with my hair, cut and shave with a straight razor, hard part, awesome style (she helps me with this big time), and she always gets it right. The decor and curio shoppe is really cool. It’s fun just to look around at all the stuff they’ve got! Tons of antique and eccentric decor and lots of interesting things for sale. They’ve got a chill place for my daughter to sit while I’m getting my cut with a game system and TV (they had Mystery Science Theatre on when I was there last) and a bunch of comics. Great shop, great people. Definitely recommend you try them out.

What a great space! Ive been going to Kari for about a year now and I was so excited to learn that she and Anna were opening their own shop. Its huge and spacious, comfortable with a fun atmosphere. The hours are convenient, the street parking is easy, the prices are fair. Most importantly though, the owners really know what theyre doing. Ill be here for years to come!

Anna is an extremely knowledgeable stylist who can literally make magic happen! You instantly feel comfortable with her and she will spend as much time as you need to discuss what you are looking for, make suggestions, and make sure you leave feeling flawless and with what you came there wanting! Kari handles a razor blade like a pro and can edge you up like you never imagined. Wonderful little antiques and decor items at bargain prices available and the ladies make sure you have a beverage and a blast while you are there!

I followed my hairstylist, Marlena, to this parlor, and Im so happy I did! I love Marlena to pieces, but once realizing who owns the place, Im so excited and happy for them! This place is awesome in decor and comfort. They have a huge TV, with Netflix to choose whatever your heart desires. A fridge full of different kinds of beverages, and coffee too! The place was clean, and HUGE! Please, do yourself a favor and go see one of these awesome ladies! Youll be glad you did!

Highly recommend Talking Heads in Downtown Rochester. Karis been cutting my hair for over a year now. Shes consistent, got great technical skill and with great intuition. Real cool to chat with.Great Prices and scheduling is very easy with no hassle through Schedulicity.The interior of the location is a high ceiling, large and aesthetically pleasing place.

Anna is very talented at what she does. I like to change up my hair styles often and she always exceeds my expectations. I always receive compliments on my hair after she cuts it. What a rare gem for Rochester. Great barbers/ hair stylists and a very unique curio shop rolled into one. One of the owners Kari took care of me. Exclent experience. Make sure to take a moment while you wait and browse the little shop in front. Some great finds at very fair pricing.
