I got hair and makeup for my 5/15/2021 wedding.nicole makeup taryn-hair When I was first planning my wedding I firmly decided I was going to do my own hair and makeup because I barely wear makeup and my hair is easy for me to work with and I didn’t want to spend the money for those things. About a month before the wedding my fiance convinced me that I wouldn’t want to worry about those things the day of and that it was in our budget. He was completely right! Do or Dye salon luckily had an opening for me (and one of my bridesmaids also). They came right to our hotel and Nicole and Taryn were so friendly and fun!!! Taryn did an incredible job following my ideas and working with my half short hair because I was growing out a shaved head. Nicole equally did a great job with my makeup and I looked flawless and gorgeous. She even gave me fake lashes that really pop in the pictures! I am so happy I decided to have my hair and makeup done. I learned its ok to pamper yourself on your wedding day!

I cant recommend Do or Dye Beauty & Barber in Rochester enough!! Katie and Taryn did an amazing job on all of my bridesmaids, my mom and my MILs hair and they were able to give me the LOTR-inspired look I wanted for my big day 😍 these girls are so sweet and hard working. Highly recommend for anyone needing wedding hair in the WNY area. Plus they just opened an amazing new bridal lounge at their shop--I wish I had a chance to visit the lounge but they were able to come to us on location at Wadsworth Homestead!! Absolutely incredible!!

First off the shop is really beautiful with brick walls, high ceilings art everywhere and a dozen different light fixtures that catch your eye immediately. Second, it felt very clean and open so I had no issue taking my mom there for a fun and safe outing. Third, Sarah was AWESOME and really friendly she makes you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. Lastly, we got a cut, color and style and it turned out perfect! Ive been searching for years to find a beauty shop that I want to go back to and I finally found it! They have gained 2 customers for life

Nicole is amazing, I love their monthly family membership. My daughter tried someone new at a different place. The haircut was supposed to be a small “trim” but came out drastically different—my daughter wore it up all the time to hide the haircut. I took my daughter to Nicole for a consultation, and Nicole transformed it before our eyes without shortening it any further. I’m so glad a friend introduced me to the salon and to Nicole.

Only here because a friend works here now. Place is upscale, hipster vibes, whatever.

Charlie did my hair today and it came out fantastic! I felt anxiety because I was a couple minutes late and didn’t really have a plan of what to do in my hair but he made me feel at ease as soon as he started. He spent a lot of time making sure it was colored and styled just how I like it when I left. Will send my sister here...Thank you Charlie! Bonus, the salon is super cute.

I had my hair done by Charlie he was very tentative..I was so comfortable.

Charlie did my hair and he did a great job. I showed up looking like I crawled out of a deep west Virginia cave and had no clue what I needed. He asked a bunch of Qs and I basically told him to make me look good and he succeeded (and again, he was working with some deliverance kind of hillbilly hair and beard). Hair looks good, beard looks good. I can actually go out in public and people wont assume I just got done panning for gold for the last 6 months. Seriously considering getting a club membership so I dont get called out as a Sasquatch by small children.

Charlie did an amazing fade and Im really happy with my cut and beard trim thanks guys

I get 2 haircuts through there monthly plan every month. Taryn does an excellent job and she is very friendly.

I just got what I believe to be the best haircut of my life. Katie was so nice and very talented. We discussed what I wanted, we established expectations, and she delivered. Before I left I made an appointment for my next cut.The interior is very cool. It reminds me of a hip barber shop youd find in NYC. Cool art on the walls. Cool eclectic music mix. Very interesting things to look at everywhere. When I walked in I was greeted warmly and offered a beer and a place to sit. You hear that? A beer and a place to sit. Thats like home!Prices were affordable. In fact when I went to check out I questioned it a little bit because I was expecting it to be more (cut, wash, razor, style) but nope, the price was right.

My to go to place now. Service is good. Price is reasonable. Easy to book up appointment online. Hair stylists are very knowledgeable. Some people have hard time with pin straight Asian hair but my stylist, Taryn, has it under control. I love this place.

I absolutely love my new hair! Nicole did an AMAZING job. She was so sweet and nice, knew how to hold a conversation, and did exactly what I wanted! My first time going, and I will most definitely be going back! I along with all of my friends and family love my hair!P.S fairly priced!

The best salon I have ever been in Rochester. I have very thick hair and Katie does my hair very nicely every time. She always takes time to discuss and understand what I want every time. She is very kind and professional. I cant say enough how I like my hair when she styles it very much. The time scheduling is perfect and there is little wait time. She also did my two sons’s hair ( age 1) today. And we loved our experience with her. Im so happy I found her and referred so many of my friends already.

I adored this place from the moment I walked in! The vibe is awesome (family-friendly, but not in an in-your-face kind of way). All of the ladies Ive seen there have been super friendly. Everyone is super upbeat and I have yet to see anyone leave unhappy! Complimentary beverages are definitely a huge perk, and the membership is well worth it as well! Ill be going back for a long while.

This is a great barber/ beauty shop. The interior is designed with a ton of creativity and makes for a really enjoyable, relaxing experience. But the cuts are what really sets the place apart. Katie (owner) is incredible. Her experience is self evident, and she has an amazing ability to listen to what the customer is envisioning and then making it happen. Shes also made great hires and everyone there is friendly and very talented at what they do. Highly recommend!

It was Okaish...if you go for keratin then I would suggest to consider other options. Staff is awesome - friendly.The price is affordable too

Katie (owner) is such a great stylist and person. I will never go to this place again!!!! I have never had highlights turn out as bad as they did there. I paid 145 for only top of my hair to be highlighted which you could barely notice and turned nothing what I wanted. I have been getting my hair highlighted for a long time and never have I had this issue. I went back next day, and was charged more to get them fixed which they still aren’t. Now I have blue color that I have to spend more money elsewhere to fix. Not to mention, the hair dresser smelled like alcohol. Also, when I went back she was being very rough with my hair to the point where I had to say something!!!!

They are an awesome little place! Never knew they were right around the corner from my house, but will be going there from now on. The staff is friendly and greet you upon walking through the door. Great selection of music as well! If you are lookin for a good cut hit up Amanda! She does a great job on mine!
