I’ve been a member at burn since 2014 and I think this is the best gym in the area. High quality equipment, and the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming. There is a wide variety of options available for people who like to work out alone, or there are classes and personal trainers available. I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re considering a gym in the are!
The cleanliness and welcoming vibes here you just cant get elsewhere.
Amazing gym. Staff is very friendly and professional. Everything is always clean. Stacked gym with everything you need and very affordable.
A+ for design, function, and cleanliness. One of the few businesses that could earn a 6th star.
Ive been coming here for years now and the trainers are great! Ive met so many new people through my gym and even some of my best friends! The cleanliness and welcoming vibes here you just cant get elsewhere.
When the pandemic hit in March, I called the gym and spoke with someone on the phone asking to cancel my membership. I was assured it was canceled by the guy on the phone and everything was going to be alright.Flashforward to December of this year and I find I’ve been getting charged since September by this gym. When I asked for a refund and sent a screenshot of my bank statements I got a very snarky email back saying “If I had canceled I would have been asked to send an email.” They refuse to refund me my 121 dollars back.Remember to check your account when dealing with this gym. You’ll see hidden charges pop up all the time and they’re very tricky about how they bill you. Way better options in Rochester Hills. Look elsewhere.***Edit: money was refunded
During the pandemic once they were finally cleared to open they didnt bother to call anyone they just charged everyone for that month. Now doesnt that seem unfair theres people that cant even go out now let alone a gym. Didnt call anyone to ask if they wanted to resume their membership just started charging people. So I called and asked for a refund because of course I dont feel safe going to the gym, and they refused. So they wont let me get a refund even though I didnt even go in at all. Plus you cant even call to cancel you have to email them. Just a scam Id advice you to take your business elsewhere if you want a decent gym because Burn Fitness only cares about your money not safety.
I joined Burn Fitness several weeks ago as I was looking for a gym close to home. Given the current CV19 situation, my second biggest consideration was safe practices. I took a quick tour with Dan (who was very nice). I didnt bring my white gloves but was looking to see what the general level of cleanliness was. First off, their policy is for staff and members to wear face coverings. THANK YOU! (I toured another local gym and not one person (staff or clients) was wearing a mask... unreal.) Back to Burn Fitness. During my tour, there as a staff member running a vacuum in the middle of the day, a good sign. Looking at the equipment, I was surprised to not see dust on the equipment or debris around the base (areas that are tight are harder to clean). It was clear that they cared about cleanliness. So I joined and Ive been there almost every day for 2 weeks. During my time there, staff is very friendly, always saying hello. Many times, I have seen staff pushing a dust mop across the floor, wiping equipment, and even using a duster to dust off parts of apparatus that nobody would see. SOLD. This place feels so much cleaner that when I was a member at Lifetime. Lifetime has a ton to offer (at a higher price), but it is also very crowded at times (during peak hours you may not get the stations you want in the weight area). Also, at Lifetime, there were times I felt I was a Junior High social (tons of young teens). At Burn, it feels more calm, the ages of people working out that I seen thus far range from 20-60 and people are there to work out. Overall, I really recommend this place if you are looking for a clean place to work out and respect others that want to work out with people that wear masks.
Great place. Wouldnt go anywhere else with my business.
I had a not so nice experience this morning. I didnt have my card to sign in so the guy at the desk gives me an attitude. He said we are not going to go thru this and here is your card. The previous staff never ever gave me a hard time. Andrew, Kristine, Sarah and few more were very nice. They always sign me in. I never had to ask. Social distancing is not followed by some staff members.. The girls keeps cleaning machine if you call it cleaning that have not been used. Sorry to say that but this place is not what it used to be.
Ive been going to this gym for 8 years. It is sad to see it close with such sudden notice. This used to be a 4/5 star facility as they only had ONE squat rack. Fast forward to present date, and they have doubled their floor space, which includes ~9 power racks. I cant think of why you would pick anywhere else to workout if you are serious about your fitness.
Promptly resolved my complaint. Was willing to do whatever they could to solve the problem. Great place. Wouldnt go anywhere else with my business.
Great gym and appreciate having them open. Since they expanded this location its become an awesome facility. Tons of free weight plates, DBs, workstations. If youre into machines, plenty of them to work every body part from multiple angles. Lots of cardio machines including rowers and spin bikes. One section is just TRX systems, TRX slam balls and battle ropes. Lots of accessories as well including Bosu balancers, resistance bands, kettle bells, etc. Friendly staff.
This place is incredible, whoever built it really went all out with the equipment, quality, layout, atmosphere, everything.Solid setup of racks, barbells, and bumper plates with 8 positions available in the free weight room. Place is very clean, has good assortment of things available for purchase at front counter, and great pricing for visitors. The staff was really nice and helpful too. Very attentive and do great job maintaining the equipment and overall cleanliness. Andrew was great with my on boarding.Looking forward to more business travel so I can stop in here for workouts!
This place is run by great staff. Membership pricing is very competitive. Quality of equipment, service and the hours beats anything in the area. I did not have to deal with any pushy reps when I signed up 3 years ago. Im very happy they opened up in the neighborhood.
Nice gym. I was in town for work and lifted there for a day. Reasonable day pass for traveler. $10 I think. Clean, well kept, well stocked. They do not have miles of gear, one of most everything, but for a smaller strip mall gym its very good. I believe its a local chain of 3-4 gyms,,, similar in size and scope to most Anytime Fitness, except a notch above. People were very nice. They have a nice shake bar at the front desk.
I always feel a burn when leaving and so fit
👩👨👩 This is a great Fitness Center! The people are nice, the equipment is Always clean, & no one judges you as your trying to get yourself fit! I Never heard one bad word while I was there! If your looking for a great place to work out, that actually has nice people, I recommend going here! 🏋️🤾🚴
I went to check out Burn Fitness to see what it was all about and determine if it was a good fit for me. It wasnt. Theres a fee to sign up, plus two months payment (first and last), plus an additional club improvement fee of some sort, plus you had to give over 30 days notice of your intent to cancel. Based on my estimates of how much money from the annual club improvement fee that Burn Fitness was raking in each year, it seemed to me that the money wasnt being spent on the club itself, but rather to line the owners wallet. When I had asked them what improvements had been made that year, I was told that they had installed new shower dividers/doors. Those must have been some very, very expensive shower dividers. All said and told, my gut told me that this place seemed more concerned with obtaining your money than helping you attain your health goals. I suspect Im correct because the gym was virtually empty when I took the tour during what I was told were peak hours. They probably need all of the members they can get in order to pay the rent for such a large retail space. I found that there was nothing about Burn Fitness that made them stand out from any other gym. Be sure to do some comparison shopping if youre considering a membership here! I hope this review helps some people avoid all the fees that this place tries to throw at you!
I am happy to recommend Burn Fitness. I have been going to the Rochester location, for 6 months, convenient, just off of M59 on Adams,. During this time I have noticed a good improvement in my strength, I can now lift my grandson, 60lbs, in the air and wheel him around like before. Ive experienced a decrease in pain level as well, (arthritis). The facility and change rooms are kept clean at all times and the equipment is well maintained, with wipes and hand sanitize dispensers at your disposal for extra precaution. There is also a nice selection of equipment, which I like, and the instructors were able to counsel me regarding the use of various machines to work on specific body areas of concern. The staff is friendly and helpful, I am greeted by name whenever entering and leaving the building, rare today.:)
Super crowed all of the time regardless of being told when you sign up that not being crowded makes them different from other gyms. I was told a specific equipment would be arriving within a few months; 6-7 months later, there still wasn’t this equipment in the gym. There is no designated training area so you’re told to move from equipment because it’s part of the trainer plan. Staff is extremely nice when you’re a member which noticeably changes once you deactivate your account. 2 stars for cleanliness and new equipment.
I like it, Sarah is cute, she is a slam dunk employee *swoosh*. Carlos knocked it out of the park with his outstanding greeting capabilities. *crack* .He is an outstanding employee. Also I almost walked into the girls bathroom until I noticed the big W, that one is on me. Sarah is amazing.
I followed my trainer to Burn. Kati is great! The Rochester facility is clean, the equipment is maintained, staff and members are friendly and helpful. Im continuing on toward my goals! Im hoping the Rochester facility will purchase a sled. We had one at my other gym and I loved it. (Hint, hint to the owner.) 😆 The first & last months fee is normal. Im hoping the yearly maintenance fee will by the Rochester gym a sled and maybe one more rowing machine. The monthly fee is affordable. Im happy I joined Burn Fitness. Id recommend it to anyone!!
Love this place. All the workers get to know you and become your friends.
The staff is so super friendly. Its always clean. It smells good. They have quality equipment. I can get in and out of there SO quick.. LOVE burn :)
Prices are competitive to other gyms, the difference is the staff. The trainers and other staff members are GREAT!!!! Very family oriented. My trainer is personable and fits my personality perfectly. The daycare staff are wonderful with the children at all stages of age.
Edit: 5/5 ⭐, the new addition is pretty cool. Plus, now there are 9 racks that could be used for squats, rack pulls, and deadlifts (instead of 1).Only 4/5 stars because there is only one power rack. Though I heard that there would be more power racks added, after the addition to the building is complete. The machines here are nice, the facility is clean, and the HIIT classes are fun. The staff will recognize you by name & face.
Great customer service and knowledgeable staff. They keep the place clean and have expanded the gym area to double previous size. They have all the equipment to keep me looking sexy which...I dont really have a problem doing 😁
$55/month for a visitor pass, but the gym is extremely clean and well maintained. I cant complain considering I pay close to $30/month for Golds back home and the Golds facility is nowhere near this clean. Would recommend.
Best gym ever, Ive belonged to all the chain gyms except planet fitness (not a gym). I love burn
Really well run place. Hard to tell staff from owners...everyone seems empowered to make you happy. Love the showers CLEAN...Other places I’ve tried I was not impressed with having to use their shower.
I was reluctant to join at firsr, but am glad that i did.Loving it here..super friendly people. Clean equipments. People wipe off machines after they use...it gets little crowded at peak times, since the space is limited.
The environment is very clean and good place for sports.
After a tour, I got phone calls on second day to ask my decision. I told them do not call me until next Friday. I hang up the first two phone calls, then the guy still call my phone in a minute. I do not know why they do this. I was felt to be pushed on this action. I also feel the person really want to sale the membership during the tour. Please be professional.
Very impressive pricing strategy. $25/month + $49 Enrollment + $98 Lock in Fee + 2 Advance pay of two months ($50). Then the markettig guy will start you giving offers like free two months gym. This will make you feel like an awesome deal and then he will ask you to pay for two months fee in advance..lol, where is the free gym then??..Alright its their deal, but my strong recommendation is this, if you are joining for more than two year, then you can select this gym otherwise by paying all these extra fees, you will end up paying $35-40/month
Very clean friendly staff, and friendly atmosphere. Love the smoothies too.
Friendly personable staff, nice facility, dedicated, knowledgeable personal trainers availabile.
Nice gym. I went there because the Hilton gym was undergoing renovations and they comped my visit. I dont live in the area, but I would return if I did.
All the equipment is brand new and they keep it spotless. I go for the yoga and the great staff!
The environment is great, the facility workers are kind, and the equipment is always clean. This is a great gym.
Nice gym, Awesome staff!Wish it was a little bigger with a bit more equipment. But Still definitely worth the membership!!
Excellent gym. Go back everytime I visit family.
I give credit to the sales reps for listening to what my needs were and being flexible on my specific needs. They were willing to work with me on a short term membership solution, which would not be financially competitive with their base membership model. Facilities are just good enough, nothing fancy, but this review is pre-reno if you are reading this review post summer 2017.
The best thing Ive done for myself. The people that work their are great
Nice large facility, you dont feel cramped when its busy & super clean
I like the machines variety, but the week price fall a little expensive for my taste
The typical gym that wont let you go. They told my wife my membership was canceled a year ago but they have still been charging us. Be sure to check your credit card statements. there are many other extra charges.
Great to exercise but over price
A great environment to become your best self in.
Looking forward to joining!
I like this gym. The staff is very friendly and cheerful. You feel good when you get out. Classes are good too and fun. They are ten bux per month unlimited! cannot beat that. The gym is clean and so far I have not been harassed by guys. Changing in the ladies room can be challenging because of the entry door location - anyone can see inside when someone opens it, so you have to change in a stall or something. Loose them pounds before the holidays...yeah! Oh and they have smoothies too! nom nom
Spotless facilityAwesome staffExpect great results👍
Great place to go! Great staff and knowledgeable trainers!
Best Gym EVER! The staff are friendly and the place is very clean and organized.
Solid gym. inexpensive and clean w/ everything you need!
Amazing!!!! Thank you for creating such an amazing atmosphere to workout in!
This is a new GYM, clean and not very big, price is not expensive, they are not 24-hours, good to try
Good place for gains, friendly staff
I have been a member since they open.
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR PERSONAL TRAINING HERE< my credit card was charged $300 and trainer quit, manager Cameron will not refund my money.
There family!
