It was easy to book an appointment through the Google listing. The location has parking on the street or nearby stores. The spa is very clean and bright. I got a regular Mani/Pedi and it was $45. I dont typically get anything special or get my nails done often. I was in and out in less than 45 minutes. Manicure included nail trimming, shaping, a hand massage, and polish. Pedicure included massage chair with foot soak, nail shaping, trimming, sugar scrub, massage, and hot stones. Love how my nails look and will definitely be going back!
My wife drives across town to come to this salon specifically. Jennifer is always friendly and professional. And my wife is always pleased with how long her manicure lasts. Other places she has visited have chips in a few days. It is always worth the wait and drive to go to Jennifer’s.
This was my first time going to Jennifer’s Nails and it definitely won’t be the last. I wanted acrylic nails for my engagement photos and came in with a picture of what I wanted. With just a quick glance at it, my nails turned out exactly like the picture. She was very efficient and focused on all the details to make them perfect. They looked so good I might have to keep them and get them filled every few weeks! Will definitely return!
Easily booked a same day appointment for myself and a friend via Google. My friend is a mom of two young kids, so when we unexpectedly had to push our appointment time, we appreciated that the change was Able to be accommodated. We both got regular pedicures, then I got a regular manicure and my friend got a gel manicure. When my friend’s gel manicure dried in a weird way, the woman who I presume is the owner, gladly fixed it. The salon isn’t the fanciest aesthetically, but is clean, has massager chairs, and wasn’t at all crowded which was nice in this “return to normalcy”. My regular mani/pedicure cost $45, which I find reasonable. We both left happy with the services and the experience. I plan to go back soon!
She did amazing!!!! If she was closer to me Id def be going back. Shes a tiny bit more expensive than your average place but you get above average service as well!
I love going to Jennifer’s . The service is always quality and they are the sweetest human beings you will ever meet. Not to mention the cleanliness of everything especially in the time of COVID. I recently got knee surgery and couldn’t bend my knee all the way into the tub, but they still figured out away to make sure my pedicure happened. I will continue to support this lovely shop🤎
I scheduled a pedicure for my daughter and I. They told me 3pm for both. When it was 340 and they still had not started mine I told them I no longer wished to receive the service. The technician was really rude about it and charged 35$ for a childs pedicure. She was extremely unprofessional following. And the place is visibly dirty compared to other facilities in Richmond. Do not recommend.
The cleaning procedures of the place are pretty doubtful. They gave me a very bad toenail fungus infection that took me several months to get rid of. I never had this kinda problem before, always had healthy toenails my entire life.
This place is extremely expensive and she does not do amazing nail art. The good news is that she is never very crowded. Her location does not have a lot of parking and it is hard for Uber and lyft drivers who find her spot but again you never have to worry about crowds in her shop. It is just her and her husband
Ive been getting my nails done at Jennifer nails every couple of weeks for about 6 months. While she always does a good job, except that my polish chips sometimes. My complaint is with the pricing. My normal price was in the range of $35 - $40, depending on what I needed done. With the exception of twice where I was unexpectedly charged $65, without warning. So last week I brought my daughter in, she wanted a full set and she specifically asked for the $35 set. But then she asked to have gel polish instead of regular polish. Of course I know the price will increase maybe $5 or so. NO, think again, she was charged $65!!! My daughter really didnt have the extra money, she was already splurging to get her nails done. She was so upset, especially because she asked about the price before receiving the service. Its too bad because now Jennifer Nail Spa has lost 2 customers. My daughter wont go back and I wont either.
I booked an appointment last Wednesday for an acrylic fill with gel polish. First they had very few colors to choose from in the gel selection and then she did a poor job polishing them. My nails chipped as soon as I left the salon. I feel as if she rushed to do my nails. I will never go back to her
I attend this business every couple of weeks and I am always met with wonderful and friendly service. In my line of work as a performer I love how the owner keeps my hands looking there BEST! Jackson Ex (Singer/Songwriter)
Friendly, reasonable price, and great job! My new nail salon.
I can’t say enough about Jennifer nail salon.I’ve been coming here for almost 9 years and never ever disappoints I’ve done Fillans full sets pedicures manicures she does it all. In a timely manner I see some not so good reviews on here but I think they’re probably talking about another Jennifer nail salon not the one in carytown. Because this one’s awesome so polite and clean and professional.
Very professional and does a great job with manicures and pedicures. I am a loyal customer and have been going to Jennifer for several years.
Jennifer is a perfectionist when it comes to doing manicures... my nails are almost ALWAYS in the worst of conditions & “BINGO” Jennifer has my nails looking like a movie star when she’s done !!!She never rushes & always ask if I’m liking it during the procedure❤️I highly recommend Jennifer for anything from nails to pedicure to brows 👍👍👍
They advertise that they require masks and take temperatures and are very clean. NO, that is not true. I called and asked and the owner, in effect, said she wears one but not all the customers do. Bottom line: misleading advertising.
I love Jennifer she does my toes and my eyebrows. Best eyebrows I have ever had, and my toes are always perfectly polished.
So my experience here was awful, the lady is not aprofessional which is crazy to me. I asked forcoffin shape nails and i had to tell her they were not even and then she had the nerve to argue with meand state “oh you want them done professionally” she is not a professional.
I think the service here is tremendous. I’ve been in for pedicures and I find the treatment and the service here to both be very good. I lost three toenails climbing back down Kilimanjaro so my toes need slightly special care. I have had many pedicures at high end spas like the Ritz or Breakers and Jennifer is the only technician to get certain aspects of what I need completed correctly plus she’s recommended at home care that has helped my recovery. I am a big fan and recommend Jennifer Nail Spa highly.
Got in quickly for a pedicure mid-day on a Wednesday. I am in town for work and was in desperate need for some a fresh color! They did a wonderful job! Great price and super friendly. :) if I am in town again I would absolutely come back.
Great job! Very experienced - accurate and timely. I got acrylic black tip nails and they look very natural. She cut my cuticles and trimmed excess material under the nail. Warm massage stones were even incorporated into my pedicure. Definitely coming back.
I was visiting from out of town and I had time to get my nails done. Picked this place because it was within walking distance of the museums. Got gel nails and my eyebrows waxed. Happy with both. The place was clean and well lit. I made an appointment but I imagine walk-ins are welcome.
Great to get ur nails...a bit pricy but good.
Had my girls nails done last week. Nails falling off and chipping. Owner refuses to fix the problem. Stay away from this place!
I had an amazing pedicure here. The man that did it was through and took his time. He did a fantastic job, my feet felt amazing. Not the fanciest place from the outside but great service and great prices!
My husband and I get pedicures here on a regular basis. I never make an appointment, just walk in on a weekday during off-hours, and Im out in 30 minutes. Im usually the only one there. I bring in my own nail polish. Feet look great, and the job lasts until the toenails grow out. Sure, its simple, but I prefer speed and low price to the 1 hour+ pedicures of other salons.
I was not impressed with the painting they did on my toes. Gel Color was not even. Some nails weren’t even polished. Won’t return.
Super nice owners at this place! They always take their time to ensure you have a quality experience and the prices are great! Best pedicure Ive had in Virginia!
I have now been to Jennys 3 times & she is my go to nail tech! Very comfortable, very personalized service, friendly, and best results I have seen for nails in the area. Also she is amazing at eyebrows & eyelashes!
My girlfriend and I always make a date to come down here and get our nails done. We love the fast service and they always have time to take us. The women here are fantastic and do an amazing job. Also, it is in a great location, there is a parking deck right across the street and we can walk around after and grab some food.
Ive been going to Jennifer for almost 2 years for gel nails and Ive never been disappointed by her. Shes always available (I call ahead) and is very good at what she does. Referring to the negative comments made, try and make nice conversation and she will respond well. Much like you and I, if the stranger is nice to you then youre more likely to be pleasant back.
Worst nail job I have had in 20 years. The nail tech didnt listen to me when I told her what I wanted and when I corrected her, she rolled her eyes and tried to fix, and her fix made my nails way too short. And it was completely overpriced. I will never go back. Waste of money.
Jennifer did a great job on my nails! I went in for a fill in and she was very attentive to details and made my nails look awesome. She clipped my cuticles too and filed the under part of my acrylics after shaping them which a lot of salons don’t take the time to do! I would definitely recommend this salon if you are in the Carytown area. I was a walk-in and there was only a very short wait unlike some busier salons which might make you wait hours. Prices were very fair, too. Will definitely be going back.
Absolutely rude and a rip off. Went in for a gel pedicure. Only 2 people working in the shop on a Saturday. Was placed with a gentleman who had obviously never dealt with gel polishes before. The polish removal took 1 HOUR. I got nervous about his inexperience and politely told them I would simply do a polish removal. The woman who runs the shop was rude and charged me $25 for a full pedicure, explaining he had “soaked my feet in water.” No cuticles, no massage. $25 to soak in water.
Walked in for a full set, showed her a picture for an idea of what I wanted and she made time for me. Wonderful lady and I have to say, these have got to be the nicest acrylic nails Ive ever had. Could not recommend this place enough.
I’m literally getting a pedicure as I type this. This place is amazing and are the only people who can handle the disaster that my feet truly are. Couldn’t recommend them enough.
Need a lesson on how to NOT run a business? Please come to Jennifer Nail Spa for their 5 star course in unprofessional behavior. They will even throw in a temporary manicure for only $35! Dont worry if you dont like the color, it will only last 3 hours and it peels right off! No nail polish remover need :)
I was in and out, but i was also the only one there. I will say that Jennifer did give me the cold shoulder when i walked in. When i was finishing up her 10:30am appt came in who screamed money. Jennifer sure was quick to be nice to her. Jennifer did a great job on my nails. I just think $40 for a fill in is quite pricey. The place could really use a revamp. I wouldnt go back.
This was probably the best pedicure I’ve ever had. He was thorough and took a lot of time on my neglected feet.
I had gone by a different place after work and the line was outrageous- I needed to run errands in Carytown and decided to stop here on a whim. It wasnt crowded at all, they were quick to help me and super nice. It was a pleasant surprise after a tiring day.
I love Jennifer. She is so nice and always greets me the second I walk in and remembers I always come for fill ins. I get pedis too and every few weeks she asks if I want that too. I have been to other nail salons but no one is as good as Jennifer.
Jennifer always takes her time with my feet when I go in for an occasional pedicure. I tell her what I want and she always does it perfectly. The salon isn’t the freshest salon there is but it’s not crowded and she keeps the place clean and that’s reallly all I can ask for with her low prices.
One eyebrow is now extremely and obviously thinner than the other and I am livid. And WAAAAAY too much hair taken off......I still wanted to look like I had eyebrows???????? 😡😡😡
Jennifer is the best. She does exceptional work, moves quickly with little to no mess. Neat, clean, and elegantly decorated establishment. Reasonbly priced. I had some issues where i couldnt go for over a month including my birthday and she remembered amd blessed me with a birthday gift. I truly thank God for her and love her spirit. This review is late i should uave completed months ago!
Great service best nail shop I’ve be to in Richmond Virginia.
Very nice!! Owners are great people!!
Fit me in on short notice but did a horrible job. She rushed through putting my acrylics on and cut my cuticle with the nail file. The cut was infected a day later. Three of the nails broke within the week. Save your money
By far the worst shellac manicure Ive ever gotten! They got the color wrong and when I tried to tell her she didnt listen and just laughed it off. My nails look awful. The message pedicure was a joke! DO NOT GO HERE!
Great service! Always welcomed with a smile.
The ladies were very nice but my gel polish bubbled up and I had to get it removed the next day.
Very professional and competent. Well-satisfied.
I would not recommend this place, especially a shellac manicure...terrible. there was cotton ball residue on my nail i was trying to remove before my nails went under the UV light. polish was on my cuticle, which will peel as anyone familiar with shellac knows and when i brought it to the attention of whoever was in charge (i think jennifer) she basically tried to say that was normal and when i asked for it to be fixed she painted another coat on top which made my nails look like jelly beans, the polish was so thick. so got very angry and i dont think its too much to ask when you pay $35 for your nails to be done. i would never return here. on a good note, pedi wasnt bad. shellac...TERRIBLE. my cousin, however got a shellac mani same day and her nails werent horrible but werent the greatest either.
Abysmal customer service. The woman who did my nails was terse and unpleasant. She watched a Vietnamese soap opera during the whole event, made me pay during the manicure????? And my nails promptly peeled within an hour. Avoid like the plague.
This was the worst pedicure Ive ever had (nail polish all over the skin around my nails) and they did something to be big toe that I believe created an infection because it is very painful to walk around. I could go on, but I will leave it at that. If I could give 0 stars I would. Be warned!
Very good!
Very good for me
Nice experience.
Jennifer is a nice gal!
I just want to get gel removed from my nails. I had never been before. Instead of wrapping my nails she had me dip both my hands in acetone. She started working on another person and had two other come in for pedicures. The girl beside me was getting acrylic nails removed and the woman was removing the tips with edge of an unused nail tip- meanwhile the lady was telling her it hurt so she wanted to soak off as well. The lady went over and started the other girls pedicure. We both sat there for like 20 minutes. I eventually just started peeling the shellac off myself and when I got it all off I just got up and asked to pay. AND THEY CHARGED ME literally just for providing acetone to stick my hand in for 30 minutes.Never again.
