Hands down the best hair salon I have been too!!!! When I walked in yesterday I knew I wanted a change in my hair color but had no idea what I wanted lol !!!! Olivia listened to what I was looking for and my hair came out AMAZING!!! I was so happy and pleased, also I just wanted a trim (usually when I go places they cut off wayyy to much!) Olivia did a perfect trim of my ends !!! I am in love with my color & highlights!!! Also, the owner Kim is very nice & welcoming !!!! This will be the ONLY hair salon I go to for now on!!!!! THANKS LADIES!!!!!!!

Ive noticed that every time I come here, I spend a lot more time than whatis initially relayed to me. Yesterday took the cake. I went there to put a hair toner. I was told it will take 1.5 hr. My appointment was at 1 and I didnt get done till 4. My stylist on the other hand was taking care of other customers who came after me while I sat waiting. I would have understood if it had taken a half an hour more than what was expected but a whole one and half hour longer than what I was told in the beginning was a total disregard to my time. The stylist did a good job on my hair otherwise but I will not be coming back since I value professionalism and punctuality more.

Awesome pedicure. Even better customer service. She did a great job even though she was the only one working until another employee came in. She didnt rush and attended to everyone she was performing services for.

I had a fantastic experience with Kim! After calling, Kim was able to fit me in for a layered haircut. I don’t live far from the salon and I’ve heard many good things so I really wanted to visit. My hair is a little unruly at times with SO MANY thin strands that stick up in all directions when brushed, curled... you name it. Often times I go without brushing it making it a sticky tangled mess thanks to the poor quality shampoo I use. Kim did a wonderful job working out the tangles with better shampoo and thoroughly massaging my scalp to ensure all the old shampoo was rinsed from my hair. After leaving Rainbow Beauty Salon I’m happy to say I invested in some better shampoo and conditioner 😂 as I did not realize it made that much of a difference!I love my haircut and it was a very affordable price of $35! I went to Rainbow Beauty Salon for a manicure, haircut, and massage - absolutely amazing! Olivia was so nice and so helpful with my hair cut. It had been almost two years since my last hair cut. I showed Olivia pictures of styles that I like and she helped me pick a style that worked with my facial shape and my hair type. And the massage was fantastic!I will definitely be back - Olivia is now my go-to girl for haircuts and spa days!

I was looking for a place to get a haircut at 5:30 p.m. on a Sunday (I know, silly) and I found the Rainbow salon. They took me in with a smile, and took their time. Specifically, Kim cut my hair. I’m new to Richmond and this was my first haircut here. I was really nervous because the same person has cut my hair for years, and before that I came across many people who had no idea what they were doing. Kim did an absolutely wonderful job. I waited to write this review until after I washed and styled my hair my way (which consists of brushing it, i.e. doing nothing) to see if I liked it as much as I did leaving the salon, and I do! Kim managed to give me exactly the haircut I asked for, with just the right amount of flair. Kim, I really appreciate your kindness and giving me a really great haircut. It seems like it should be an easy thing to do - to give a decent haircut if that’s your job - but I know that’s not the case and a good hair person is hard to come by. I never write google reviews but now I really have to because the service was exceptional. I paid $35 for a layered haircut and looks so good. Part of the haircut includes washing your hair and straightening it. I was scared to cut my hair but the hair stylist was so was nice and took care of my hair so nicely. If I ever need a haircut and I’m in Richmond, I will definitely visit this place again!

Ive been here twice now. First, I got a perm and that lasted longer than what other said it will last. Now I got my hair colored and it turned out great. The people in here are very nice and they will not overcharge you. Theyre fair with their customers and they make everyone comfortable. I recommend this 11/10 times.

I highly recommend this hair salon! I’m native from New York City and I’ve been in VA for 7 months. Every other hair salon I’ve been to here in VA messed up my hair and over charged me! I’ve been to Rainbow twice and I’ve been very happy with their service. Very friendly and their prices are reasonable! Casey and Kim Lin have done a wonderful job with my hair (and I have a lot) and take their time to make sure it’s done exactly how you want it. They are also very honest, they won’t do something to your hair they feel will harm it or won’t look good. Outstanding all the way around. Rainbow Salon has an amazingly talented staff, comforting atmosphere, 7-day availability and reasonable prices! I was in need of a massive color correction after someone in Chester, VA butchered my highlights and haircut (see transformation below). Kim worked a miracle through inquiring about my hair history, listening to my vision and strategically carrying out her method for lifting my hair without breakage by using olaplex throughout the entire process. I love the way my highlights turned out and how soft and shiny my hair is following the deep conditioning/hot oil treatment. Additionally, I got a beautiful layered haircut that looks great curly and straight. It is difficult to find a stylist who you can trust with your hair, and I can assure you that you will not regret making your way to Rainbow Salon! Thank you, Kim!

Came from Charlottesville and dropped by Richmond for a visit, decided to try this place out for a haircut and Eric paid very close attention to detail the entire time. made sure I was comfortable with what I got and the overall experience was very relaxing. definitely would be willing to drive an hour again for my next haircut!

I always leave it too long in between hair appointments, it was easter today and I didnt have anything to do so I went looking for an open salon. Kim was there and she did an amazing job with my hair. Ive probably asked for the same hair style from a hundred people over the years and the layers Kim did today look best of all of them.

It was the best experience and the work is soo professional. They waited for us until 10 pm that night me and my sister got our hair colored. It was such a beautiful color for us patiently done and perfectly done. I loved their dedication to make things perfect.

I have a meeting with my partners in Richmond, and my appearance did not look so good. Luckily, I found this barber shop and had a warm welcome from the guy named Eric. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and knows what he’s doing. He gave me some advice about all the hairstyles professionally. Overall, it’s a great experience with him, and I definitely come back again. I went to visit a friend, and he invited go to a salon to get our hair done. The service inside make me feel very respected. Eric, the gentleman gave me a very attractive haircut, was patient, hilarious and willing to listen to all my needs. I love this salon! My hair is naturally dark and I wanted to change my look. This salon took up on the challenge to dye my hair from black to silver (or platinum blonde). My first time they took care of me well and worked ten hours straight just to achieve the hair color I desired. Throughout that day they constantly asked me if I was hungry and if I was thirsty so they can get food for me, which I really appreciated it. Today was my second visit and it really blew me away. My hair was the color of my dreams and I got so happy with it! I would post pictures on here if it would allow me to!

Im from California and been living in VA for a year. Since I met Eric, he show me how he is knowledgeable about hair for men ! The webpage lists no details about what a service includes. When I walked in, I asked for a menu so I could review the differences with a regular and deluxe pedicure, etc. but the menu does not list these things either. I asked someone and she could not tell me. She COULD tell me it is $10 more, and that it comes with everything. I asked what everything means, since nothing is listed. Again, no one could tell me so I left. Im not going to pay $35+ for something and not even know or be guaranteed of what services Ill be receiving.

It was horrible they was not clear with me on the phone.im a women of color. and I called to inquire and they did not do my hair right. I was not happy and I will not be returning because of there service. they saw that I was a woman of color and they told me that next time to bring at least $100 and I was not happy to get me in by saying yes yes yes to me for everything I said on the phone for what I asked About my hair. They even mentioned that there was a girl like me who had the same hair.

Lynn definitely knows how to cut and color my hair, I had a bad haircut from another salon and she was able to fix it. This is definitely a salon to come back for.

Owner Kim is the best! She and her expert team of stylists and barbers did a phenomenal job on my brother’s hair. We came in just before 6pm and were in and out within 15 minutes! I am giving 2 star for now for poor customer service. I have made the appointment Sunday, July 1,2018, to be seen today, 4th of July. I dont know about anyone but I have the expectation of being seen at time of set appt, especially showing up 10 mins before specific time. Well, its not happening, the sec I sat down, she immediately told me to wait a little bit, Sat this lady proceeded to coloring her hair. So, Im thinking maybe bec I am not Vietnamese, and doesnt speak the language. Bad decision !!!!

HORRIBLE NAIL SALON. I got my eyebrows done very poorly and ended up having to pluck them myself. Gave it another try and went for a pedicure. The lady was doing my toes and dying a mans hair at the same time!!! She had to redo my polish twice. By the end I asked her to just take it off and she still made me pay. My toenails are uneven, jagged stubs. I dont suggest going ifyou want quality service and polite staff
