Having recently moved back to Richmond, one of my first tasks was booking a haircut with Juliet at Mango. Ive had service from Monique as well. Unfailingly professional, the stylists at Mango take great care while you are in the chair. This Aveda salon is on the corner of Grove Avenue near Libby next to Long & Foster. Parking in back is free but needs to be validated. Covid19 precautions in place. I only have great things to say about Mango.

Great place to get hair dyed and cut. They get special training and actually know how to mix colors correctly and they know how to cut your hair. It is one of the best places to get your hair done. If you want it done right and no worries you need to come here. I go to the Grove Avenue location and they have the best staff. Park in back of store off Granite street. Remember to take a parking ticket and get an employee to validate ticket and it is free. If bar is in up position for any reason, then you will not need a ticket.

Overall, the experiences I’ve had at Mango across multiple locations, and with several different stylists is generally and predictably ‘very nice’, though be prepared to pay for that assurance. I’ve never received a terrible cut that I regretted, and most of the stylists I’ve had take the time and care to deliver on any requests and are really looking to understand what it is that you’re looking for in and happy with. I’d say this is true for ~ 90% of the stylists I’ve seen over the years. While some better and more experienced professionally, for sure, I never feel concerned that I may end up with a terrible cut that I hate when booking with a stylist that I haven’t previously seen before.In a few words: Consistently good experience, with a hefty premium.

VERY expensive...and hair cut wasnt right. Color was good.

I went here about a week ago for a hair cut and color....long story short I wanted red hair I got brown hair. Went back to get an adjustment the color looks better :) but while I was there I the 2nd time noticed Mango Salon does not allow a lot of time between clients. I feel like there needs to be a some time between clients just in case the stylists might need a bit extra time with their current client. I also feel like they don’t put the stylist in the right tier. If a person is paying $200 to $300 for a hair cut it needs to be the best hair care they ever got! Food for thought mango salon.

I have gotten my hair cut here since about 2009 and have always gotten a good cut. I got my brows done here a couple of times and would recommend that service 2. I have visited their City and Henrico locations and the parking & ambiance are good at both of them.

Mangos Libbie and Grove location recently moved across the street from their previous spot and its bright and beautiful and gorgeous!! Even if you dont have an appointment, you need to go in to see what it looks like! 😀All of the staff are welcoming and friendly and make you feel right at home as soon as you walk through their doors. All of their stylists are well-trained and educated in modern color and cutting techniques and collaborate with you to achieve the look that you want! They carry Aveda brand hair and makeup and I love trying new products that come out. Since I discovered Mango a decade ago, I have never set foot in another salon.

I tried Mango a few years ago when my regular stylist was out on medical leave. I had Roberta and she was awesome! It was pretty expensive but I loved my cut and color. Roberta was also easy and fun to talk to.When my regular stylist changed industries, I figured I go to Mango again and then try some other salons. The day of my appointment, Juliet called in sick. They called me and asked if I wanted to reschedule with her or I could come in at the same time and Kyle could take me. I was impressed they found someone to cover for her so quickly.Kyle was great! He really listened to how I style my hair and that I don’t like the feeling of heavy product. The color looked great and cut was exactly what I asked for.So why 3 stars? The price and how it felt like a factory. 4 different people did different parts of my services like pulling my color through and shampooing. I was moved to table while my color processed and I didn’t see any magazines so I just wasted time on my phone but boy I would have been bored if I didn’t have my phone. They do have WiFi so that’s nice. The old location had lockers for your purse but this one doesn’t so I had to tote my purse around to the chair, color table, shampoo bowl, and back. I just don’t think it’s worth $250 for the hair or the experience.

You definitely get what you pay for. Exceptional service and astounding results. I am quite pleased with the way my hair turned out. It is a bit pricey though so be prepared.

Melissa did an amazing job on my cut + color. Its a bonus that she is fun to talk to! Would highly recommend and look forward to my next appt.

Emily B was amazingly wonderful. She took time to figure out my life style and what my hair could/couldnt do. She went through the bag of products I brought and told me how to use them best. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the new cut and style. Its been about 6 weeks and it still looks great - its grown out beautifully, no awkward in-between look. I cant wait to see what she does next.

There is no place in the city with more experience, creativity, or a positive friendly environment. The stylists here are some of the best around. Four locations spread from the Libbie Grove area to the west end of Short Pump. You will love the experience

A lot of high end salons have snobby customer service. Mango salon was fabulous. Everyone is professional, and down to earth. The customer service is top notch. You get what you pay for, I am so pleased with my service #fabhair

It is a very nice salon. I have been going there for two years, but recently am looking elsewhere. The quality of the haircuts is great and the experience is very nice, but with a recent layoff the prices are a little too steep. Jen, the manicurist is great. She does a really nice job. Josh is also a great hair stylist. He knows what hes doing and really listens.

Ive had 2 haircuts so far and Destiny has been amazing. She took the time to really help me figure out what I wanted in my first cut and didnt rush. The blow dry and style was included in the price and she gave me tips to keep the style. Its not cheap but its a great salon experience (deep condition, hot towel wrap, complimentary hand massage, etc.) and worth the price tag.

Christian at Mango Salon was absolutely wonderful. I couldnt have asked for my highlights to turn out better. She really took her time doing my hair and I could tell she really cared about what she was doing. Ive been to many salons and hair stylists in Richmond and this is the happiest Ive ever left a hair appointment.

I love Mango. I have been going for almost 4 years now and after trying a LOT of different salons in town. Ive had long hair, short hair, colored hair and everything in between and have not been disappointed with their ideas and outcomes. I have always felt like the way I am treated at the salon plus my haircuts and styles (and the scalp massage during the hair wash) lives up to the prices. I especially love my current stylist Merritt although I hesitate to write that because I dont want it to be hard to get an appointment with her because everyone else falls in love with her. Oh well.

Went only once ...called afterwards re having hair color adjusted to what I requested... Asked to speak to hairdresser and after no response requested to speak to the owner and the only response I received was a phone call from the receptionist asking me to never call again and never come back again. I was denied the opportunity to make known what I wanted.Unimaginable rudeness!

Bumble and bumble products are the worst! I wish Mango would stick with Aveda! I just had my hair shampooed and conditioned with B&b, no other products and it is so flat, heavy and sticky! Yuck!

Love the atmosphere

I was shocked when my hilights and cut cost $300. Iv never paid anywhere near that much and the following day none of my friends liked my cut,either at lunch, nor had they EVER paid that much. I checked your prices online before booking and it said $120 for long hair hilights and cuts from $35 to $90 and I am SURE the girl who cut mine was not a master stylist. Its the worst haircut I have had in 8 years though the hilights are good. I ask why it was so much at the counter and was told because she used a toner. This is ALWAYS included if even needed. I have never been charged and extra $30 for toner. And, if timed and done correctly it isnt even needed. It took me over a year to grow my hair out to the length I wanted and sadly, I could honestly cry, the cut is so bad that it will be months before my hair looks decent again AND I SPENT $300! Someone I know used Merrick for the same and it was $100 less. Do you just make the prices up as people walk in the door? SUPER SUPER UNHAPPY as I said when I called 2 times. No one bothered to call me back. NEVER COMING THERE AGAIN!

I had a terrible experience. I wanted a structured a-line bob and the hairdresser told me it was out of style. She then proceeded to snip here and until I had a totally unstructured cut with random lengths that looked awful. Worst haircut since my mom gave me bowl cuts in the 90s.
