Nancy did my hair for the first time and liked it. Shes pleasant and sweet! I plan to return when my hair gets to length where it needs cut.

Do not go to this place, I had shaved my head a while ago and it had grown out a bit. So I wanted them to cut it a bit shorter and have the back shorter too, I gave them a reference photo and everything. Before I knew it they chopped off two big pieces on the side of my head and then shaved it, I waited a minute thinking this is how they do it but they shaved my head almost all the way leaving some hair at the top, the hair at the top was horrific. One side was down to my cheek, the other at my eye. I was frozen hoping that when they dried my hair It would look better. But no, the hair barber sent me away with soaking wet hair??? I had to sit in the waiting room till my ride got there, and they kept bringing me back making it shorter and shorter so I had to sit outside in the rain so they would stop bothering me. It would be one thing if it was a few months till school so I could grow it out. But it was a few weeks before hand, I have to go back to school with a completely uneven butchered cut. Thanks.

I had my hair highlighted blonde and a nice long layered cut done by Nancy and she always brightens me up and my hair is always beautiful when I leave. They are very professional and take pride in there work.they are all top of the line hair stylist....nice job Nancy thank you....😁

Caitlyn did a great job with my highlights and color, and it turned out just like I told her to do. I have a ton of hair and it takes a long time to foil but she was very nice. She fixed the mess I made of my hair with a nice haircut. Really reasonable prices I thought.

I was in town for the weekend and decided to find a highly rated place to have some me time and get a hair cut. I showed the stylist some pictures of an edgy undercut and came out looking like I had a bad toupee. It was a shame, he was a very nice man and I thought Id be able to do something with the style...but I ended up having to buzz my head because he simply cut off too much hair. I hate leaving negative reviews but dont want it on my conscience that it could happen to someone else. I wear wigs so I can cover my buzzed head...but others may not be so lucky. Otherwise I was able to get in pretty quickly and the conversation was pleasant. The atmosphere was serene. Everything else was good...just not the haircut I left with.

When I called to schedule, the woman was standoffish. When I got there a few days later, my stylist was great.

My young daughter and I came in for cuts. Darrell was our stylist. He seemed very impatient as I was trying to get my daughter situated and comfortable (she suffers from some separation anxiety). He got frustrated that she was not wearing a mask (she’s three) and proceeded to tell me he would not cut her hair without one. I told him that was fine, that I would go get her hair cut elsewhere. He proceeded to grab one and make her put it on. She teared up and was totally uncomfortable the entire time. I totally understand that places require masks but there are exceptions for kids under a certain age. He was not overly gentle when combing and cutting her hair. I would definitely not recommend him for anyone with children.

Really, really bad all around. All I needed was touch-up on gray growth with a base color at the roots and to freshen up the highlights. What I ended up with is copper streaked hair over my previous highlights from a different salon (out of state), NO gray coverage, spots of bleach throughout that look like bald spots, and a ruined anniversary plan to go out of state to celebrate at our favorite annual rodeo because I had to go BACK in the next day so she could fix this mess. Then, to top it off the hairdresser had an attitude and kept looking at her watch (as if somehow this was my fault and I was keeping her from something). When I asked her to put the blonde highlights back (the ones I came in with before she touched my hair) she refused saying she had another appointment and did not have time. Yet I was still charged for a partial. I am really disappointed because I researched all the salons in Rapid City before I came out here for the summer and decided this one looked like the best one based upon the reviews and information provided on the website. I could not have been more wrong. My advice is to go elsewhere and stay far away from this one. Pictures of my hair before I went in (one standing by a tree and the other a back shot) and pictures after my hair was ruined at this salon are attached. What a mess. I would like a refund so I can go get it fixed somewhere else, which will end up costing twice as much plus more time. Very, very dissatisfied and highly disappointed. I absolutely do NOT recommend this salon.

Had my appointment with Tory. I can honestly say that I LOVED the way my hair turned out!! The color was perfect and exactly what I wanted. I have been to several other places and have left feeling disappointed because it was really what I wanted. On top of the fact my hair was absolutely perfect, Tory had an amazing personality. We got along great!! She has so much experience and is very knowledgeable. I was so happy with my hair and her that I scheduled my next appointment to see her that day!! I go to Darrell and my daughter sees Nancy. Im very pleased with their talent and friendly professionalism. My daughter is almost 11 and on the Autism spectrum, and haircuts are tough. My visit here was amazing! I arrived early so they started on my hair early. Everyone was very friendly. My stylists name was Tory. She was amazing. She did my haircut exactly the way I wanted it without butchering my hair. She even showed me styling techniques for my new haircut, free of charge! And speaking of charges this place is great on your pocket book! Definitely give them, especially Tory, a chance! You wont be disappointed!Just adding an edit:) I returned here this last week to get my hair cut short again. Geri was my stylist. She was AMAZING! Nancy gave my mom the BEST cut and style shes ever had! Mom has naturally curly hair and has worn it long for years. She wanted a change to something short and easy care. Nancy was amazing at making sure that my mom was comfortable with the change every step of the way.

We were at Salon One looking forward to our spa experience at 1pm today. The only male working while we were there harassed my 3 year old grandson. He was so rude I would consider him prejudiced or racist. He should apologize to my daughter and her son. We wont be going there again.

I purchased a headband for my daughters Junior prom. Before I purchased it I asked the nice lady at the counter if I could return it if we didnt use it. She told me that they usually dont allow returns but she would let me. I agreed and left with the headband and a receipt.My daughter didnt need the headband, so I returned it unopened, along with the receipt, 2 days later. The woman at the counter this time was very rude and snotty. She and another woman asked who told me I could return it and I told them I didnt know (no nametags). They complained about the return, to the point I started to feel bad for bringing it back, and I reminded them that I was told I could return it if we didnt use it. The woman at the register looked at me rudely (glared) and said, I know! Thats why Im returning it for you! I proceeded to tell her that I now know why I dont get my hair (or any family members hair) done there. And we never, ever will!! I accepted my cash back and happily exited the front door, never to darken it again.If it werent for the sweet lady who sold the headband to me (she was very pleasant to converse with and was very happy and cordial), I would gladly rate this salon 1 star. She may be in trouble for telling me that she would take it back, as the second woman rudely told me it requires management approval, but again, she is the only reason I didnt rate this salon a 1. If I could, I would rate the first lady 5 stars!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bravo to her!! I would hire her in a heartbeat!!RD

I would give a zero star if I could! Horrible result on the thermal straightener treatment that was put in my hair. It was advised by hairstylist, Darrell, to use this treatment that it would give me the results I was looking for. I was looking to spend less time and product on my hair and the results is the total opposite! I noticed the horror two days after when I was finally able to wash and conditioned my hair as I was recommended to do. My hair is fried! I can barely comb through it. It is gummy, brittle and breaks when touched. My hairbrush is always full of hair from breakage when brushing. Darrell threw in a trim and my hair was cut short underneath in the back of my neck with the longer hair hiding it. This isnt what a trim is supposed to look like! One side of my head was cut way shorter than the otherside. He had me stand away from his mirror when he trimmed my hair so I wasnt able to see what he was doing. My hair was blown dry and flat ironed. It looked ok when I left the salon. I didnt notice that he had fried my hair and gave me a bad cut until two days later. I couldnt believe what was done to my hair. My hair was long and even and in better shape before I walked in Salon One! Now its chopped with sides longer than the other and damaged!Darrell did talk the talk and sounds like he knows what hes doing but obviously cant even give a trim. My long hair is damaged and it will take a long time to repair. I have had to buy extra conditioning products to help repair my hair. My advice to you if you end up considering going to Salon One...Dont ask for Darrell or let him get near your hair. My mistake cost me $370... a costly nightmare of a mistake! Will not be going back. Sad!

Hair cut is good, a little shorter than I wanted. My eyebrows are another story.. i just needed a clean up instead I got the middle waxed so much, they are far apart now and I ended up having to go home and tweezing them because no hair on the outsides were taking off. They look worse than when I got there..

I went here in March to get my hair colored and to get rid of my highlights. Beforehand, I decided to change up my hair and do something unique and different with it. I showed the stylist what I wanted (a colored peekaboo). When she finished, it was not the peekaboo that I wanted, but I still liked the colors. When I showed my hair to my mom she said “Where’s the purple?” I had to show her the purple highlights. Anyway, I knew I wasn’t supposed to wash my hair that day, so I washed it 2 days after. When I washed it, almost all the purple washed out. Within a week, all the purple had washed out. I paid almost $150 dollars for it to wash out in a week. Now since I also got my hair darkened, she had lighten my natural hair color. Now without the purple, there is tiny blonde streaks here and there. It looks like a really bad highlight job. I would have gave this one star, but since I liked the color, for the time I had it, I gave it two stars.

They scheduled me 3 days in advance for a wax with a person who doesnt do waxing and then called me after I was already waiting at my appointment to tell me they wouldnt honor my appointment.

If I could give more stars I would! Each and every stylist is exceptional, they have patiently cut all 3 of my boys hair with a smile each time. As for me, only Darrell touches these locks and I would be distraught if he retired!

I got a haircut there and The person kept commenting on how thick my hair was and then took it upon themselves to seriously thing out my hair. I didnt realize what they were doing till it was too late. Now I have these short little chunks so Im a little sad/mad that they deiced to do that. Please ask people before thinning out their hair. Not going back.

Worst place ever, took daughter to get her hair colored. The lady doing her hair didnt color the ends or the roots. Took our daughter back she stripped the color and when we went back for her to fix it. They wanted to charge us again. Paid $115.00 for my daughter to get her hair a multi colored and ended up with blonde. WHAT A JOKE DONT WAIST YOUR TIME OR MONEY THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEYRE DOING!!!!!

I went there a couple of months ago tp get mt hair colored and the damaged hair cut off. The color went away very quickly like it was poorly done. The lady who did my hair didnt know what she was doing. It would be great to train the staff on how to do peoples hair that is not Caucasian. Im African American. It would be awesome if the shops would learn how to do our hair as well. I put a review shortly after but it got took down for reason. A good business wouldnt take down bad reviews it would leave it up. Not everything is as good as it seems and you cant make it that way. Dont try to make it seem like this is the best hair salon in town because its not.

The first time I had brought my daughter their everyone was so friendly she did her hair reallly nice! Than the second time she came in this elder man was being rude maybe he didnt know but he acted as if she was suppose to know it was gunna take longer so cancelled her appoitment when we got their and was saying he doesnt have time for this. Made her feel even worse about her hair accident. Maybe he was having a bad day but no matter what should always have respect. So I would say overall just that one incident they still get 5 stars.

I didnt like Darrell he was supposed to do my hair for my cousins wedding. I was 15 minutes late I was at a make up appointment because they were full for make up I called and told them I was going to be a little late. The bride tried to get Darrell to do one of the other bridesmaids hair she made all of the appointments she didnt care who went with who but he refused. I got there and apologized for being late then asked for a half up half down he braided two strands then put it in a bun I told him the bride didnt want us to have messy buns he walked over to her asked her then stomped back to me undid my hair put it in a bun curled five pieces packed it with Bobby pins he was very rude the whole time he kept saying i lost to much time do to anything but he still had a full hour to work on my hair I had to have my grandma redo it before the wedding. He was the worst hair stylist Ive ever had. He was horrible it was 15 minutes he spent more time redoing my hair than it would have took to do a half up half down. I will never waste my money here again. Very disappointed
