Have gone to Midas for years. While on a trip had some tire issues, and found a different Midas in Rapid City, South Dakota. Turned out to be minor. Fixed the problem and didnt charge us.
Professional, Amazing, Timely, and understanding. And on top for that they under promised and over delivered. I was traveling through South Dakota on a family vacation. I could not find a dealership to look at my car and it’s issues. Keith and his team at I Midas Rapid City open up a spot for me to get my work done within a day and got myself a family back on the road in less than a day. I would highly recommend this business and their craftsmanship to anyone looking for car work to be done.
We are so grateful for the team here, who got us back to having fun quickly when a tire got damaged on our vacation. Highly recommended!
They were busy, and I needed to get in quick. They recommended another shop, and that other shop was awesome. Thats epic customer service right there. Knowing they couldnt get to it, but helping me out anyway. Will definitely give them my business in the future.
Phenomenal job! We were on vacation when our brakes gave out and these guys worked all day on our car. With friendly service!
Brought my pickup in 3 days ago. And was told they’d call me with a price before they work on it that day. My number was read back to me so I know they have it correct. Tried to call them and got a busy tone. Multiple times over the course of the last two days. Not too excited to spend 1000s on ball joints a new rear end and an alignment with a business that can’t even call me back on time. I brought it to midas to avoid the mom n pop headaches and to hopefully get my pickup done faster Instead I get ghosted and forgotten about and receive no update on my machine when they said to expect a call. Has this happened to anyone else here?
My active duty Air Force son took his jeep in due to a front end issue. Midas told him it was a control arm and ball joint. $750 to fix. He then took it to another garage, they tightened the ball joint for $20 and he was fixed and out the door. No other issues. Sorry Midas, you missed out on this rip.
Great service in emergency. Warning lights showed several systems down and no cruise control.. Very friendly staff checked vehicle. Felt safe for next 14 days,3,500 miles of vacation travel. Spent 2+ hours, no charge.
Staff is friendly, efficient. But 6 bucks extra for a quart of oil??? Gouging at its finest.
Great quick service and turn around! Highly recommend. Price as quoted.
Traveling Through Rapid City on vacation when my honda started to over heat, I pulled in and met Keith & Justin they took my car in and had me back on the road in a couple of hours. They worked with a sense of urgency knowing i was on vacation, Another great Midas experience!!! TY
Great staff. Friendly and work was done quickly. Recommend 100%
New management has great customer service and always answers any questions I have. I highly recommend!
The staff was great, took care of my truck.
I pulled into the Rapid City Midas at nearly 5:00 PM, and they close at 6:00 PM. I had a loud rattling underneath the front of my car. They folks took the car in straight away, and within minutes, they found that PepBoys had neglected to put a bolt in my front drivers brake caliper. They replaced the bolt and had me on my way by 5:30 PM. They even took off an erred check engine light. These folks were the most professional and honest mechanics I have encountered in some time. It truly speaks to the family-owned feel of the place. The customer service area was very clean and comfortable. This was just a genuinely outstanding visit and excellent performance by the staff.
Friendly staff. Price go extra quart of oil seemed excessive ($6.00 +). Overall good
Got our Red F250 in Right away which was Good since we were on Vacation..And we got a Rental car at the Air Port. Took 2 days. We had Spark Plug issues. When we picked up the Truck they couldnt Get one Plug out. So left it. We had brought in Plugs we had bought at Napa right where they get their parts and adked them to to use them. They refused. And put the same ytpe of plugs that went bad in just a few hundred miles! We got the Truck back and drove it and returned rental car. Started off on our Adventure for the day. to Wall. And 10 miles from Wall It threw #8 Plug theyd just Replaced!.. Limped back to Rapid City Midas. Spent 5 hrs. While waiting While they fixed whatever!! Told us that # 8 striped the upper threads and cant get the coil in! The # 8 Plug Had not been Tightened All the way down! Thats Why it blew!We Had No Choice to have Son haul us Daughters and husbands Chevy Pickup from Iowa to SD! So we could pull our Camper home! And Son Haul Truck home! As We Ran out of Vacation Time!I Would Not Recommend Them for a Darn Thing! The Mechanics are Young and Not Very Experienced !!
Took advantage of an elderly man, only replaced front brake pads and rotors. Charged him $900. Came to our shop 3-4 months later with rear caliper stuck, pad grinding, and noisey front brakes(they replaced). Found pad silencers clips missing and caliper sliders ungreased in front brakes. We replaced pads, rotors, caliper, and pad silencers clips for way under $900. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. Good day
Didnt fix the problem.
Great work. Great staff!
Appt. for routine oil change went great. No nonsense, just a good routine of tire, fluids and filter replacement as needed for 2018 Subaru Forester
I had taken my SUV to have the Power Steering Pump serviced/replaced.Mechanic stated that I needed a new steering rack and pinion. Charged me $499.99 for a remanufactured one. Broke it when installing it, had to replace it due to warranty, after he said “Now that I know what I’m doing.”Mechanic said I need 2 new tie rod ends, charged me $70.49 each. (Napa- $46.99 each)Also, steering fluid return hose charged me $83.26 (Napa- $37.99). Replaced my fluid and charged me $30.Also, they found a leak in my transmission lines, replaced one transmission cooler line at $126.82 (Napa- $50.99) the other transmission cooler line at $152.78 (Napa- $86.99). Dextrin ATF $12.50 each for 4qts at $50.Also said they’d do my brake fluid flush at a charge of $149.99 range. Not listed on receipt. As well as, replacing my front bushings in the $100 range but again not listed on receipt. The mechanic(s) stated that after replacing the steering rack and pinion, they had sent it to have the alignment done but wasn’t able to be completed due to the front bushings needing to be replaced. After all of this was supposedly done, when I had my SUV picked up the woman that currently owns/manages the business said I needed a new power steering pump and she’d give me a great deal on it...As well as for her calling me, the man at the front desk did not update my personal information when I gave him my current information. In their records, as they had my old information from over 10 years ago, she had said she called and spoke with me...Very poor service, overcharged for parts, poor communication between the employees and myself. I will not recommend this place due to my bad experience. I was also charged a credit card fee of $78. For a grand total of $2318.57!!!I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau as well after this experience.
They did a great job! Unfortunately they dont sipen tires and didnt communicate what was going on with my car from yesterday to morning. The positive, they looked at everything put electrical tape on my ebrake line so water wouldnt come in again, and because it was Christmas/ I was medical he didnt charge me. That shows a great company and if I need tires in SD I will go see them. Great customer service
Excellent! Was in right away! We were taken very well care of. The owner lady was super friendly, helpful and welcoming to us. We are from Wisconsin and had truck problems. Great place. Mechanic was honest and very nice!!!
Love the crew at this Midas. Betty B and the boys helped get my truck back on the road. I highly recommended this shop.
Some of the best service my husband & I have ever received! We are from out of town & had to get new tires- they ordered and replaced all 4 of ours tires in less than 24 hours. Prices were more than fair. Betty who works the front- is incredibly personable and kind. To add to this they topped our coolant free of charge! Wishing we lived closer- we would be lifelong customers!
Great service. Friendly staff.
Went on line to schedule a brake job. Online great, quick to respond. Took the vehicle in and 2 hours later done pads And rotors. Price was also reasonably priced. Drove to Sams club nothing but squealing worse than grinding brakes. Took vehicle back asked for a solution this vehicle didnt come in that way. The mechanic named Joe stated it was probably oil seals on rear axle. Left for overnight & came back the next day. Nothing done. But Joe did have quote scribbled on paper for the amount for the job. $732.00 for rear seals & same for the front. Took to Great Western Tire in Spearfish the mechanic there told me that I needed some ball joint work done on the front. Seals are good. The front seal on drivers side might need some attention later. When drove from Rapid City to home no squeeling, no unusual sounds. I will never go back to Midas in Rapid City, SD.
Good service, good Christian woman running the counter. Work was fast and solid. I was stopping thru on vacation and appreciate them fitting me in and getting me out within a couple hours.
My car had a super rough month of August with this shop. Sadly also changed my perspective on shops in general. Always get a second opinion.1. Went for tire rotation - Knew I had an issue. 2. Shop says wheel bearing, cv axle - fine, take care of it 3. Almost a grand later, I get the car back with ABS and VSA lights tripped - its probably a recall or you need a firmware update No joke.I opened a ticket with corporate, not much help. Had another shop tell me they didnt tighten the CV axle nut which shredded the new bearing and destroyed a wheel speed sensor I was charged for. Dropped off the other shops work order, again, no response. My car was out of working order for 27 days because of the work done by this shop. Please consider your options. I cannot stress this enough.
Everyone was super nice. They found a loose heat shield and removed it with out charge. I do not live in the area
The woman at the desk was very helpful and nice, she is the mother of the shop owner. I went for a brake pad check, I asked to get the compromised ones replace, they put new rotors on without asking me. I had left after paying a the bill, my husband was very upset as well was I, so I drove back and asked them to take them off. They gave me the rotors because they didnt have time to take them off. I did not want this at all. I felt bad even though it wasnt my fault, there was on obvious lack of communication. As I am waiting to get a refund I hear one of the men yelling to the other workers obnoxiously complaining about me! It was super disrespectful and upsetting. He knew I could hear him.....I went in for one thing, I thought that it would be easy. The woman at the desk did her best to make it right, but no one has the right to treat anyone the way he did. I will never go back.
I have been using Midas in Rapid City for years. Very good service, nice staff and reasonable prices. Great experience!
I will forever recommend Midas in Rapid City to everyone. Betty B at the front desk was so extremely nice and considerate. The techs were professional and quick. They explained and broke down all cost and did nothing with out permission. They discovered my issue was a factory recall, they did not charge me at all (brake inspection). I will however take all my future business there!
Ahhhmazing! So friendly and knowledgeable family owned business. After calling around to other shops Ill never trust my special needs car in the hands of anyone else. Betty B and her son Frank really take wonderful care of their customers and their cars.
Loved it!! They did a great job on getting me in and gettin the job done correctly, and Ms. B was absolutely great to shoot the breeze with while I waited, definitely comin back here for future repairs and maintenance.
Great service. Family run shop. They took great care of us and our vehicle as we were passing through Rapid City.
Went in for an oil change... and my bad for not checking the price ahead of time... but $230 for what I normally pay $110 for is out of line... ask for prices up front... nice people in all...
Betty B. cannot be beat for her genuine enthusiasm, customer care and great personality and stands behind the Midas name with good service and great mechanics.
Horrible service, if you want to be ripped off by all means go there, they tell me a price its gonna be and then end up charging me for 2 more things i didnt go in there for. also i brought it in 2 and a half hours before they close and they ended up having to keep it overnight and half of the next day and when they were supposedly working i looked back and saw them sitting down joking with one another. witnessed them do this to another lady. very unhappy with my experience and will never ever recommend going to this place to anyone nor will i ever return.
Super nice and helpful. Showed me exactly what the problem was and fixed it faster than I expected. Definitely one of the better places Ive taken my car to.
Great place they offer amsoil oil changes at a awesome price
CAUSED ME AN EXTRA 300 DOLLARS! I went in for a break pad fix. They fixed the breaks, but according to a trusted mechanic, they pushed the break fluid back up, which causes the master cylinder to go out, instead of replacing the fluid. They went the easy fast rout that ended up costing me 300 dollars to replace the master cylinder. Oh not to mention when I went back to Midas they wanted 600 for the repair compared to other competitors at nearly half the cost. If you want to get ripped off, this is the place to go.
The most lovely and kindness people work here 💙
Im from the west coast and was on my way to see Rushmore. My breaks were making noise and not working well. Brie was such a big help and was friendly and honest. My final bill was even lower than what my original quote was AND she fixed a small problem with my emergency brake for free. Thanks you and your crew for making my break experience great.
Its an awesome place.
I highly recommend this place based on the quality of work and the friendliness of the staff.
Betty and Carl have been more than helpful and accommodating as we were squeezed into a busy 4th of July weekend. Our check engine light came on along with some engine hiccups and they fixed the coils in a jiffy! Our road trip across the country would have been ruined if it werent for them. 5 stars. Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and great sense of humor. I recommend this place.
My experience at Midas was not good whatsoever. My husband had a noise coming from under the hood and he gave them a call and asked if they had anything open for the day. The lady Betty B or something like that said that they didnt but they could take a look at it before they closed at noon. She asked how far away we lived and he responded with 10 minutes away. So around 11:40 we show up, and my husband says yes I called earlier about the noise under my hood. And she gave us THE WORST ATTITUDE about it. She was like you said you were 10 minutes away and you were not here in 10 minutes so let me see if anyone would be willing to help you since youre so late. The guy who decided to help us kept telling us that he had to leave at 12 and he didnt have time to really look it over. Never again will we go back here, rude customer service... Pretty much just terrible service all around.
High prices but decent service and they will fix what they can.
Betty B. & the mechanics are the Best!!!!
Too expensive for the work they did.
Did a good job
Not open at the indicated hours. Stopped in at 2:45 on a Saturday and it was locked up right.
Always honest, Ive had nothing but great customer service w the 8 years of service w all my vehicles!
Honest business.
Totally incompetent.waste of money and time.told me to come in and Midas would change my fuel filter.after sitting an hour they said it was to difficult.I went to oriellysand took out4screws replaced filter with loaner tools in5minutes
Betty b is the best!!!!
Not a very good experience. Dont be fooled with their oil change advertisement. I noticed the technician took 3 runs at the ramp to get the vehicle on the air.
