We would like to thank the owner, Tom Barrett, Casey, and the AWESOME staff at Dakota Battery and Electric.We were attending Kool Deadwood Nites with our 55 Chevy. We arrived late Friday night. Come to find out the armature in the generator burned up. We called Saturday morning and they got us in right away (even with their very busy schedule) They rebuilt the generator and we were back on the road by 1:00.We appreciate the fast and quality service that you gave us so we could enjoy the rest of our weekend.Thank you and God Bless!!!Larry & Jackie.

Good service in past, not so much. Supposed to call me back on a Fri pm to get batteries, called back at about closing time, no answer. Sat am buying batteries needed for Saturday trip. Disappointed....😡

I grew up wrenching on cars. And can pick apart any work done by others easily. I recently found myself stranded on the interstate due to a failed alternator. I called a handful of places and no one had my alternator, someone suggested dakota battery. I called them up and inquired. They said they could help me. So by an act of god i was able to limp my truck to their shop. They were not sure if they could get it fixed before they closed because it was already after 2pm. I told them if they could get my truck fixed and me back on the road, i would treat them all to dinner! Guess who bought dinner!! In the process i learned they were as passionate about cars as i am. Cannot give them enough credit for helping me out of a bind. I will go out of my way to stop in and say hi, and should i need their services again do the same.

Our battery went dead after being left on for about an hour and a half. We jumped it and let it run for 20 minutes then drove about 15 minutes to work, thinking it would start right up after. When we came back out the battery was dead again so we jumped it and drove to Dakota Battery.Compared to NAPA across the street, which is where I bought the battery for my car, the service here is TERRIBLE. My wife bought a battery at Dakota Battery and it went dead while still under warranty. I came in to get a new one and they gave me the run around about how the battery went dead. They wanted me to charge the old battery up by driving it around for an hour and come back to test it again. I told them no way, Ill pay for a new battery just put it in already. I was there for an hour, and they told me they would do some tests on the old battery the next day and get back to me on if Id get a refund on the new battery or not. I didnt hear from them. It took me 3 calls and leaving messages before I got someone, and they said the old battery got up to charge and if I wanted my money back I would have to come back in so they could swap the old one back in and charge me for the install. So here I am 35 minutes into the second visit, looking across the street at NAPA remembering when the battery went dead in my car. Over there they tested it, saw it was bad right away, and gave me a new battery with a new warranty without question. Were talking 15 minutes tops. Here Im on over two hours all said, and I have an old battery, a month of warranty left, and am out $12.50 for the install. Im never coming here again, warranty or not.

Horrible place! I was trying to take my car to get work done on it, i called in to schedule an appointment and had mentioned my car is under warranty and before even hearing what i have to say they shut me down and said they were not interested in doing work on my car. I have given this place so much business and for them to deny doing work for me is messed up, would definitely not recommend taking your car here. Sorry that i can not afford to just buy a car cash up front. Go to Ls DNI they are AWESOME!!!
