Ive been driving only Mercedes-Benz S-Class Special Class, since 2013 and since then Ive owned 3. A 1995 S420, a 2000 S500 and a 2007 S600 (V-12 Bi-Turbo 540 HP), See-ya KIA. If you drive an older MB S-Class you are going to need repairs. The E-Class and the C-Class, (Executive and Coupe) are more simple versions which dont need many repairs even at 20 years old. I do my own maintenance and only bring my cars to Als when I do not understand the problem. Als has consistently diagnosed the needed repair the first time and has made the repair on time and within $50 dollars of the estimate. Ive never brought my car back and said you didnt fix it. Rapid is a small town and Im always asked, where do you bring it if something goes wrong? I always say Als D&I. This shop is the absolute best in Western South Dakota.

My car developed serious steering problems! I limped to their shop without an appointment and they put my car on a lift and had it repaired within an hour at a much lower cost than we expected . The best customer service I have ever experienced. What a great company!!

Very nice. Professionals. Took my BMW Z4 over there. ( which is not easy to work on). To have break checked and get worked on today. They got it diagnosed very quick. I called them by 9am. He discussed the situation with me. I told him to go ahead and fix it. Got a call around 3:30 telling me its ready. Picked it up and so far everything is pretty good. Lexus starter went out on a Saturday; towed here and droppef off key. Got it repaired earlier (ready by wed) than expected and less than est. cost. Definitely bringing all my Lexus here for service.

Als D & I was recommended by a sales rep at a local auto dealer, for some needed timing belt service on our 2006 Honda Pilot. He didnt steer us wrong. I took the car in to them on a Wednesday and it was done on Thursday. Sudden Service and expertly done as estimated. The staff was knowledgeable, they explained everything I needed to know and showed me the parts that had been replaced, and why.I highly recommend Als for anyone wishing to get the best work available.

Nobody likes to have their cars repaired, but the folks at Als D&I are nice and seem very honest to me. Scott & Jesus will take good care of you. I had my truck worked on and when my problem came back soon, they ended up fixing the other sensor in the opposite wheel (which had the same problem) free of charge. They also get the repairs done when they say they will, which is nice.

This place is exceptional they did an amazing job on changing out my A-arms on my vehicle glad they caught it cause we were about to make a 800 mile journey home. Thank you!

We unfortunately broke down on a road trip outside of Rapid City and were recommended to D & I by a local guy. So so glad we ended up where we did, Scott in particular was fantastic! Had a coolant leak that Als couldnt reproduce but one of their technicians recognized the problem as a water pump failure. They fixed the problem pronto and at a reasonable price. Im back on the road and the cars working fine. Thanks! A good experience.

Purchased a car from here as a younger kid, not the best car and broke down multiple times within the year I owned it. But I did take it back to them once and they were able to fix the issue. But the car itself was a dud, but then again that’s my fault for buying the first car I came across. My overall experience was ok.

Had misfiring issues with my 2013 S4, gave them the vehicle and same day got a diagnostics and ordered parts. As soon as parts came in the car was fixed that day, hard to find good places for euro cars but have heard about them from people before, I would recommend this place to anyone with any car do not hesitate to go here! Have used Als for years. I totally am happy with them. I trust them and feel costs to be very reasonable.

Came in with 2 problems. One was diagnosed, the other not fixed. Had the car for 2 weeks and charged over $600. They thought it might have been a misfiring injector, so I gave the go ahead to investigate. We didn’t talk about what next. They kept digging to diagnose. They ended up concluding that We needed a new engine. The car wasn’t worth it, so I asked them to not proceed with misfire issue. Didn’t hear anything for a few days. I called in and was informed that the wrong head gasket was ordered, so there was a delay in putting things back together. 1 Star for slow process, high price, and not fixing the other repairable item, that I had requested repaired. In Summary $600 for only the diagnostic accomplished. On a positive 2 weeks biking to work was good news for the body.

For above and beyond customer service, Als D& I sets the bar!!!I recently moved to Rapid City from Texas. My husband has trusted Als D& I for years and all his vehicles have been serviced here with great diligence and excellence. Needless to say I was looking forward to place my Subaru in their care as well. The team quickly determined and fixed issues and kept me informed at all times. I love the way they communicate and you know what to expect. Everything is explained to you what and why a repair is necessary and at what cost. I brought my first Mercedes the Blue, an S420, to Als D & I in March-April, 2014. My first Mercedes ran, technically. It idled between 750 and 4000 rpm erratically. None of the dashboard electronics worked and it was a mess. This vehicle had huge problems! The guys at Als D & I told me what was wrong with it and how much it would cost to fix it before they began repairing it. I agreed to the repairs and the costs estimated. When I went to pick up the car, I started it. It sounded like a brand new engine. It idled perfectly. I got inside the car and all of dashboard electronics worked. I was amazed and overjoyed. The price I paid was the price quoted. Since then, the car has always started and ran at top performance. After over 22,000 miles of driving, it has always idled perfectly and has never chugged or run hard.My second Mercedes, the Black, an S500 threw an ESP code after 18 months of un-problematic ownership. It went into limp home mode, i.e. it didnt go over 5 mph. I took it to Als D & I in utter despair. After 5 hours Als D & I had fixed it, for $140.00!If you own a German luxury car in the Black Hills and are in need of a repair, bring it to Als D & I. I have nothing but good things to say about this company.John M. Fitzgerald

They got me in very soon, they did my a/c, oil change, routers, and trunk struts, got it all done within two days. I also had them try to put a trunk panel on that was falling off because there was to much sound dampener on the trunk, they said they wernt able to get it on unless i modified it which was totally fine, but failed to tell me the screws that were hanging the trunk on ended up getting torn through the panel. All in all they got everything they could do done fast and nicely.

Charged $100 to tell me they could not figure out what was wrong with my vehicle. Too expensive, ineffective, but friendly.

I had my Buick Lucerne repaired at Als D&I, and was very pleased with the work they did and the price they charged. They have a well educated friendly staff that diagnosed the problem quickly and didnt run my bill up with unneeded parts.

Although they do not do glass work they referred me to a couple places they use around town and said that the glass places may be able to not have to replace the window. Very helpful and nice on the phone.

They went above and beyond what is required. I brought this in expecting it to not be finished until Monday. They not only got it in quickly and fixed but I was with out a way to get the vehicle and they came and picked me up. Exceptional place. Ill be going back with any future issues I may have.

Had some family in town from California. On their way here, the a/c in their 2011 honda crv stopped working. They stopped at a shop on the way and were estimated 2000$ in repairs. I know a/c is a pain to work on, especially on those hondas, but still felt 2000$ was a little excessive. After they made it to rapid city, I found their parts online, totaling 350$ including overnight shipping. Als D and I got them in their shop right away and fixed their a/c. Im very thankful, as im sure the owners of the vehicle are as well, for the fast, friendly, and professional service we received from als D and I. It was over 100 degrees when they drive through Las Vegas on their way back home. By the way, 1000$ was the total in repairs. I HIGHLY recommend Als D and I, for anything, but especially imports. Thanks again guys!
