I went in for a silk press and color. Monique, the owner and stylist was so nice, friendly and professional! I’ve been looking for someone who knows how to silk press in The Inland Empire and FINALLY found her!!! I’m overjoyed with how my hair came out! It looks so silky and it’s super bouncy!!! I’ve been to so many other stylists who thought they knew how to straighten and style my hair (loose curl type) but she’s the FIRST one who actually did know! These curls are bouncing and behaving!! I loved how Monique left my hair, it was super damaged, I got a haircut and a moisture treatment and it came out really soft and shiny. I love how she also teaches you what she does and gives you tips for how to maintain it at home. She also went out if her way to accommodate me into her schedule since she does get booked pretty fast. She was really sweet and I am definitely coming back!

This was my first visit to The Hair Cafe and it won’t be my last. Monique provided consultation prior to service. She is knowledgeable and highly professional. Color, textured trim and style. My hair feels amazing and looks beautiful.

My only regret is that I didnt call them sooner. A competent and qualified professional hair stylist is a rare find. My hair feels good and, while itll take some time for my hair to recover, I think Im on the right track. Moniques wonderfully comforting spirit, patience and apparent knowledge inspires trust and thats important to me. Thank you so much!***UPDATE***Id written my first review in Dec 2019, after only one visit to this salon. At that point, Id sustained some minor damage to the hairline at the base of my neck because another professional stylist misapplied a chemical relaxer in Oct 2019. Otherwise, my hair was full, healthy, shiny and full of body. Today, after 6 visits to this salon, Im forced to acknowledge that my first review for this stylist was premature. After a series of blunders, inappropriate treatments, miscalculations and, regrettably, apparent incompetence, Im left with shorter and visibly thinner hair, due to severe breakage throughout. What is supposed to be chemically relaxed hair is kinky, frayed and broken around all edges and bald in at least two spots. Upon review, Ive found that half of the shaft hair itself, is straight, while all the new growth experienced and remaining since Oct 2019 is kinky, brittle and dry. Unfortunately, these final results were not entirely unexpected; there were warning signs along the way. I was alarmed when, for example, a coloring product that contained ammonia or peroxide was used to retouch the sparse gray hairs along my front edges. Alarmed again when the stylist delegated the task of shampooing, conditioning and blow drying my hair to an individual, whom I later learned was not only unlicensed, but had had NO professional hair care training or experience. Finally, when this stylists relaxer retouch and what was supposed to be temporary color treatments left my hair dull, dry, brittle, kinky and broken, I provided her with product information that Id obtained from my previous stylist; names of products that had been used on my hair that had, up until now, produced consistently desired outcomes. Her one-time use of these products produced results that were more consistent with what Ive experienced over the more than two decades of having my hair chemically relaxed. However, the results of this last and final set of treatments were, unfortunately, more of the same. When I reached out to her for an explanation, she blamed the disastrous results on my sparse smatterings of gray hair. Wow.

I’d give 10 stars if I could! For some years now I haven’t stepped foot inside of a salon because many stylists have told me they don’t know how to work with my texture. I have very tight 4c hair and Monique was so patient, careful and made sure I was comfortable and happy from the beginning to the end. She is a knowledgeable hairstylist that really cares about the health and maintenance of your hair. Needless to say I will definitely be back!

Veronica was adorable and did a great job with my cut and root touch up. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a nice young lady named Erica. She immediately offered me coffee and made sure I was comfortable. The environment was very pleasant and professional. Monique, which I believe is the owner, was very nice and helpful as well. They all made me feel like a regular and I appreciated that. For years stylists always talked me down from what I wanted. I followed her from another salon to this new one. The Hair Cafe is nicely decorated and good ambiance. I gave four stars because I feel that the prices are not budget friendly. I understand that the Cafe may be reaching out to a specific clientele but many women want to have their hair nicely styled at reasonable prices. I know I am one of them.I have friends that have gone to the salon just once because the prices they felt were not as reasonable as other salons.

Monique is a most excellent artist when it comes to cutting and styling hair. I have always been very fussy and picky about my haircut. It was always a pain to get a haircut, because I never really liked the results, except, I have to say a couple haircuts I got in Europe, in Italy and France, which I really liked, as I do Monique’s work!. I was lucky one day last year, to stumble into the Hair Cafe when I was needing a haircut. Due to my occupation, Ive moved around the country lots. The one thing that is most challenging to find is a good hair stylist. It usually takes quite a bit of research and plenty of word of mouth recommendations to finally land with someone that makes you feel comfortable, is knowledgeable about healthy hair AND the latest trends, has a clean environment and good customer service. When I moved to Rancho Cucamonga from DC I had asked around lots for hair salon suggestions. One person directed me to Hair Cafes Instagram. I was really impressed with not only the photos, but by the messages being conveyed. I made an appointment and the rest is history. I no longer needed to search. Monique has been invested in my hair and making sure that I have a great experience. Which let me tell you is almost half of it. My job involves long hours, so coming to the Hair Cafe is quite a real release. Im always asked if Im thirsty and she is constantly offering me food -lol. She has taken great care of my scalp which has been quite challenged. My normally very healthy hair was very damaged when I arrived here less than a year ago, but Ive seen dramatic improvements to it and I attribute that largely to her techniques.
