Every year I wait until the last minute to get my car inspected, and there are typically things that I need in order to pass inspection. Murray‘s always has time to fit me in, they are super accommodating, Super affordable, and they have the friendliest staff of any establishment I’ve ever been to. They will continue to get my business year after year.

I have been a customer at Murray’s Tires for many years and appreciate their fair prices, honesty and great customer service. This visit was pleasant but I had a long wait. Longer than usual and wasn’t foretold that it could be a long wait. The lady that checked me in did say there were “several” in front of me. But after waiting an hour I asked how much longer and was told that only 2 tire techs were working. I’m understanding that these days many places are struggling to keep workers on site. I also am polite to have patience waiting. Just wishing I’d had a bit more heads up before waiting 2 hours before the guy got to me. My only day off work and luckily I had no where else to be. I arrived at 2 pm and pulled away a few minutes after 5 pm. The young man who put on the tires was friendly and worked steadily. Only the waiting time issue is my remark.

They were great!! The power went out right as I got there, but I was able to leave my car with them and they had it ready as soon as possible. The people were kind and helpful and the price was awesome! Highly recommend these people for anything they can help you with :)

Murrays not only got everything sorted out with my car for a low price but were so friendly and kind there! I got to witness the owner not only interacting with his customers but also the employees as well and everyone seemed so happy to be around each other! They made me feel comfortable trusting them with my car. Something I get nervous about is being scammed by auto shops. Murrays is trustworthy, quick, and get the job done right! My car drives like a dream. If I could give more stars I would!

Today is my third visit relating to the same issue. SOME of the TECHNICIAN/MECHANICS NOT ALL need more TRAINING or they need to better QUALIFIED. With this third trip, NOW they telling me its the TIRE. WHAT AND WHY my tire was not addressed at the SECOND visit while they were fixing the FRONT DISC BRAKE PADS. YOU tell me the TECHNICIAN/MECHANIC sees another issue that will be OR is CONTRIBUTING to your issue YOU A WOMAN WHO IS CLUESS....BUT THEY ARE LICENSED and dont have the REGARDS to tell you the SAFETY OF A TIRE IS REALLY CAUSING MY tremble IN THE STEERING WHEEL ALONG WITH APPLYING BRAKES IT MAKES A weird SOUND. I spent hundreds of dollars but SAFETY IS MY BIGHEST CONCERN but evidently its not the owners. He BLUNTLY TOLD ME I had brake service not for the TIRE. I was very angry after that comment and my daughter was too. EXTREMELY ...HURT...she told him how can he do people like that. I told her God will deal with it. But at the end he stated we have a five star rating. We went back and forth outside in front of customers. That wasnt right. I only apologize to them but to him...I have nothing good to say. CLEARLY SAFETY IS NOT HIS ISSUE especially me traveling and have physical therapy from neck surgery. WOMEN PLEASE HAVE A MAN WITH YOU WHEN HAVING YOUR CAR SERVICE BECAUSE THEY SEEN ME COMING.

Fantastic service! Friendly and informative crew! Candace at the counter is extremely welcoming, delivering service with a smile, fun dialogue, and a great level of hospitality. You almost forget that youre in an automotive shop. The mechanics are knowledgeable and take the time to let you know exactly what theyre doing and why. You leave feeling like they actually care and arent just after your money. They want you their customers to leave happy.

This was my first visit to Murrays but it certainly wont be my last. When I called to inquire about new tires for my vehicle, my call was answered by Ashley. After telling her what I was looking for she placed me on a brief hold. When I was reconnected I had Gary (owner/manager) on the line. I told him what I wanted and he told me that he had a new set in my size or, since I dont drive much, I might consider some used ones in excellent condition. He told me to come down before closing and hed look at my tires.When I walked into the customer waiting room I was greeted by Ashley with a warm smile and friendly demeanor. I told her that I spoke to Gary and before I could get another word in, this larger-than-life gentleman rolled off the tires I was looking for to Ashley. He reached his hand out to shake mine and said welcome and thank you for coming.As I waited for my turn, I sat there and watched the interaction between the employees and their customers. I was appreciative of how everyone was made to feel welcomed, valued, and looked after. Whether it was a repeat customer or a newbie like myself, there was a level of trust. There was never a feeling of being coerced into spending money on something not needed or up selling to make you buy a more expensive product.When it came my turn, I was introduced to Joshua. We walked to my car and I explained what I had recently been experiencing. He told me that he would inspect the tires and knowing that I wanted a new set, hed let me know what they had to offer. After inspection, one of my tires was found to contain a nail which was causing the recent flat; there was also a tire with a nail and a broken belt. I had a question about a third tire so Gary suggested it be removed and tested for leaks. It was agreed that one tire be fixed and one replaced with a used tire that was in excellent condition. This saved me money and I was pleased with the suggestion.Upon leaving I was offered a tee-shirt and a bottle of water. I also found Joshua and Gary, shook their hands and thanked them for the excellent service. I will return in the future for sure!

I went to Murrays due to a blowout of my drivers side rear tire, caused by debris that fell off of a construction truck, as I was driving on the highway. Candice addressed me by name (extremely important when you work in a position that is customer facing), got my vehicle in quickly and the crew took very good care of my vehicle! I was shown a replacement tire (used) for my approval prior to it being installed. Everyone is polite and accommodating from the time you pull onto the lot. Neither men or my family members have ever had a bad experience! I am planning to return to replace all 4 tires on my and 4 tires my sons vehicles again, just as I did about 18 months ago. Great job and THANK YOU ALL!!!

The staff are friendly, but unfortunately the tires are unreliable. I got all 4 of mine replaced here earlier this year, and came back to get them rotated a month ago. I came back again today because one of my tires had a leak, and was shown/told that two of my tires needed to be completely replaced - after I just bought them there earlier this year! Not to mention, whoever it was that rotated my tires apparently didnt notice the wear, or at least didnt let me know. I work from home and dont go on trips very often, so Im not driving a lot, and I keep an air pump in my car to always make sure my tire pressure is good, but these tires had already worn out in just a number of months. I got the 2 tires replaced here (Id already waited an hour, so I figured I might as well), but if they dont last longer than the last set, I wont be returning.

Had some issues at first trying to order a tire. Was told I would get a callback never had one returned. Called again and spoke to Gary. Gary advise me on some of the family matters they had going on around the shop and was able to get me situated. Great communication on their end and I appreciate the hard work with trying to meet customer’s expectations!

Had an amazing experience here! My car has had a wobble in the wheel at high speeds for over a year. Firestone kept telling me nothing was wrong and I was imagining it. Spent a quarter of the price and 4 hours later here it was solved. Thank you to the technicians and the staff that helped me out. I will definitely be back!

The folks over at Murray’s were great, very friendly and took the time to explain process and then made it happen in a timely and economical way. On top of that, needed to get somewhere, so they even loaned me a car. Any additional car needs, we will definitely go see the folks at Murray’s, just made it a great experience!

Customer service is top notch!!! Gary and his entire staff were polite, courteous and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend. They went over and beyond what I expected and much better customer service than I have experienced at any other place.

Once again Murrays customer service and skill is top notch! I was in need of rear wheel bearings, hub replacement, brakes, and an alignment on my Jeep. This is a pricy service (anywhere) because there are so many parts to replace. The mechanic wasnt sure if my northern vehicle would also need an axle replacement with the amount of rust. Ashley explained some finance options with a company they work with called snap which offers 0 interest for 100 days. I decided that was the best option and Im very grateful this was available to help manage the cost of the services.This was also a lengthy appointment. I was coming off of 3rd shift and started to fall asleep in the waiting area when Ashley suggested I take a loaner vehicle home to get some rest. She gave me the keys and a bottle of water and said they would call when the vehicle was done. My wife and I returned around 4. Ashley had all of my paperwork ready with the finance company all set up and let us know they did not need to replace the axle which saved us around $500. She gave us more water and sent us on our way. Thank you once again for the hospitality. The team members here go above and beyond and are greatly appreciated for their honesty and hard work.

I was unfamiliar with the area and in need of a vehicle inspection so I did a search on maps. I was lucky to have found this place. They were very professional and friendly and got me in and out in less than 30 min without an appointment. Ashley was awesome at the counter. Couldn’t recommend higher.

Called today to see if I needed an appointment and was told the alignment space was empty if I wanted to come now. I took off and went over. When I got there Ashley remembered the call and got me into the computer. Before I knew it the tire tec came to get me and I pulled in and spoke with him. (Didnt catch his name). A very short time later they pulled my truck into alignment and I was checking out in just a very short time. My experience was great from phone call to leaving. My truck drives so much better. Look here first, for good selection, good value, great teamwork. I was pleased on a busy afternoon, to have no waiting to pull into a service bay, then wait in the warm shaded breeze for the install. Surprisingly quick!

Joshua was great over exceeded hospitality! I appreciate the alignment and the tires and also giving me the issues that I was able to resolve myself and save money not may shops do that! But that was the reason I came back to do the alignment out of respect!! Y’all keep up the good work!

I arrived around 11:30 and was surprised how busy they were. I almost left; however, I needed a tire and decided to wait. I was told there were 10 customers in front of me. I was amazed at how fast I was out of there! The entire staff is extremely friendly and I will return for all of my repair needs.

Had a tire leaking. Called Murray and they said there was no wait for tire services. I stopped by was in and out within 30-40 min top. Patched up my tire and was good to go. Very nice staff. Give them a go!

Recently, I had brake work done at Murray’s tires and was very impressed as a customer. Gary Murray, who is the owner and a respectable businessman who I have become to know over the years, has certainly kept his business top notch; example his business is clean; the employees are respectful; and more importantly, his brake technicians are truthful. The main thing that I evaluate when dealing with a business is honesty and whether I can trust the employees. Aside from trusting this business, is that out of several places that I have dealt with before in Raleigh, Murray’s tires was the most reasonable in terms of prices, that I paid for brake work! And the brake work was “second to none”.

I ran over a big screw which caused my tire to leak air very quickly. Ricky and the team from Murrays got me in and quickly got the issue taken care of at a reasonable cost and things went very smoothly. The ladies in the shop check out were very nice and overall it was a great experience. Gary and his family have been helping people in Raleigh for many years. Thanks!

I called yesterday needing a flat tire changed. Ashley was super helpful in getting right back in touch with me about tires they had available and even texted me pictures of them while I was at work. Got here this afternoon and Gary helped me right away to get stuff going with what I needed. Shortly after a gentleman named Josh eagerly walked up to help get my tire changed out for me. I was honestly dreading coming here this morning because every past experience I’ve had at vehicle maintenance shop was not pleasant. I’ve always dealt with the most disrespectful, rude people in environments like this so it was nice to come here and have my preconceived notions turned upside down. Thank you to everyone at Murray’s Tire & Auto for making this a pleasant experience for me.

Stopped in to get 4 new tires installed and state inspection. The staff here was super helpful and I was taking care of right away. I didnt wait longer than 5 minutes before my car was being serviced. During the tire installation mechanic noticed that my brake pads were really really low and Murrays let me inspect everything and provided recommendations. In the same visit Murrays was able to turn the rotors and replace the pads for $170. Thankful for their quick and good service. If you are in Raleigh and looking for a auto shop that can take care of your tires, state inspection and other maintenance then this is a great place to stop by. **Just note that they do not do oil changes here.** A great locally owned and operated business to support.

Ive been using Murrays for used tires for years (probably since 87-88). Theyve always been honest and had good used tires. I hadnt been in a while because my situation allowed me to purchase new tires but now things are tighter with the pandemic and all. My gfs car blew a tire and I called around to see what the cheapest thing we could do was. A new tire was going to run around $80. Several of the used tire places quoted me prices from 50-70.Murrays wasnt the cheapest but the website listed the price mounted and balanced as $43.97 for a 15-17 used tire and since I had dealt with them before I went there. When I got there I was told it would be $50 for my tire. I complained that the website said 43.97 and the warehouse manager said something about not having any standard tires in stock. I was tired of calling around so I told them to go ahead The total came out to $53 something. The service was awesome as always and everybody was friendly and helpful. The tire, honestly, looks almost new. Ten dollars probably doesnt seem like much and 2 years ago it wouldnt have been but now it is.If the price is $43.97 for standard tires or more for specialty or premium tires or whatever and to call for availability. It doesnt. Is it the end of the world that my tire was $53 instead of $43? No. Will we go hungry because of it? No. But it does cost you a star in my review and will make me look around harder the next time I need a used tire.

I used them before and it was great. Did work on my girlfriends car and my own car. Now they have seem to gone the wrong way and it makes no sense. I always buy my parts which are manufacturer or directly from dealer. Now Im being told they wont do it, this makes no sense to me because its the same parts they are using. I was told this is for insurance purposes. But that makes no sense because its not like these are used parts or I made them myself. The parts are brandnew and sealed inside boxes. This seems nothing more than a money grab to add on there own prices on top of parts they get at a wholesale price.

As a brand new resident of Raleigh, I found Murray’s almost by accident and I am so glad I did. This is a locally based, family owned auto and tire shop that gets everything right. They are well- organized, polite, professional and efficient. Although the fix my car needed was relatively simple, I was totally impressed with every aspect of their operation... from the employee who spoke to me on the phone to the mechanic who worked on my car to the price they charged for the repair. I love this place and will bring both of my cars here whenever they need service.This is exactly the kind of business we all need to support. This is the type of business that creates and sustains a city and community.

First Time at Murrays Tires and i cannot recommend ENOUGH! Great service, great advice, and very efficient work methods. I had a nail in my tire and they didnt even try to sell me new tires, they just said a patch would work and it was only $20. I was expecting to spend way more! My boyfriend also went to get new tires and they did not try to sell him on the best, new, expensive tires. They took his budget and gave him amazing used tires for an extremely affordable price. These people are not trying to scam you, they honor your business. 10 out 10! This place is a gem in Raleigh!

My mom popped a tire while we were visiting Raleigh and was extremely stressed about it since we live out of town. We were able to get in and out of Murrays in under 30 minutes and with an incredibly reasonably priced tire that matched hers. While I know it was partially lucky that they had the tire, they could not have been more friendly or helpful. I didnt catch the name of the bearded fellow who assisted us, but he was so nice and also super funny, so he made us instantly feel welcome and forget the stress of the popped tire. I am new to the area and I dont know anyone that can refer me to a safe/trustworthy auto shop/mechanic. I had been experiencing my car shaking when on the highway, so I knew it had to do alignment/tire balancing. I GOOGLED what was near me and Murrays was close to me and had a VERY HIGH RATING, so I felt it was worth taking my car to them. I have to say that the ENTIRE PROCESS and the way I was treated from ALL the employees, from the mechanic and the office staff, was with professionalism, courtesy and their appreciation of MY car/business being brought to them. Everything was explained in detail to me and I felt the prices were EXTREMELY FAIR! New or used tires, i have found Murrays Tires best place to get your need taken care of. Their prices are very competitive and after sales service is great. Walkins are welcome. Even they give sone warranty for used tire purchases as well. They do maintenance and wheel alignments etc as well.I have used their service several times and have been kind of blessed each time. Their staff is super active and polite with very high customer care and service attitude. Will certainly recommend to give them a try.

Got 2 used tires(19 inch) for my car at ~$300 cheaper than a new tire. The used tire looks great with a good amount of tread still left and it only took about 40 minutes from drop off to leaving. My second time getting used tires here I would absolutely come again.

From start to finish, the most professional, personable and welcoming experience I have ever encountered at any auto/tire related business.The minute I drove on the property, despite it being cold and raining, I was met by a service tech who asked how he could help. I explained what I needed and he directed me to the appropriate garage bay. He explained what he was going to do, walked me to the reception area, even held the door. The staff behind the counter were super nice and offered coffee and water while I waited. All the work was completed within 15-20 minutes, was even offered a water to take with me when I checked out. This was my second visit and I can’t say enough good things. You pass the place every day when driving south out of downtown. The building is not new and shiny ...it may blend in with the others and not catch your eye. But don’t be deceived... this is truly a hidden gem and a the definition of southern hospitality.

Recently had some tires balanced here. Customer service was excellent, and the actual what is just as good. Toque wrench was used when putting the tires back on, which I really appreciate.

They was very friendly when they found out I had drive all the way from henderson and one guy jimmy explained that I didnt need a line up I needed a wheel balance they offered me a water for driving so far and was going back.. jimmy insist on getting the wheel balance but after it was done I still had the same issue .. but he did tell me two of my rims was slightly bent and he put them in the rear which was a good idea I just had got my rims that Saturday I went to them Monday its just me but I was over charged for the service to have the same issue but Im not mad or bitter I did get the balanced it could be another issue but I still thank Murray tire service and there crew for all they have done, explaining the service and sending me on my way with a cold bottle of water... Thank yall

Great service. They let me drop my car off while I was out with a friend for a little while. Jesus was my technician and he patched up the tire puncture in a timely manner while we were out. We went back and picked it up as soon as they called and I was offered refreshments. Only paid just under 20 bucks for the service when I was worried I might have to get a new tire and everything. I would definitely go back to Murrays for future services.

I came in one day to get a tire looked at. One of their technicians took a look at it for me, free of charge! He was also very friendly and helpful.The next day I came in to get both the front tires replaced, although the folks there insisted it would be a waste of money to get both done. I really appreciate them looking out for the customer!The technician who worked on my truck, Ricky Usher, was extremely professional and did a fantastic job. Everybody I interacted with at Murrays was incredibly friendly and respectful. I will definitely come back when the time comes and recommend to friends!

AVOID GETTING TIRES INSTALLED HERE! Got a quote over the phone to change some tires on my mothers car. Sent her there to get it done only to find out they charged her 43% over what they told me on the phone! Its unfortunate that theyll take advantage of someone who doesnt know any better. I can no longer recommend anyone go to Murrays.Edit: The response from the Gary is a blatant lie. I called and got a quote for removing old tires and installing new ones, not some obscure procedure. I made sure to specifically ask if it covered everything knowing some places wont include small things like tire disposal fees and they confirmed the price. After taking the old tires off, they recommended new valve stems for $20 claiming they were giving her a discount because they normally charge $30! These should be replaced every time and should have been included in the original quote, besides the fact that price is outrageous. THIS IS SLEAZY SHOP UPSALE 101. Low estimate and then the extra purchase when its too late to take it somewhere else. They cant even line up the low spot of the tire(yellow spot) with their overpriced valve stems and left her brand new tires looking like a bird crapped all over them. I suspect the lug bolts are over-tightened and the tires have incorrect pressures, but I havent had time to check yet. Take your car somewhere with upfront pricing and techs who know what they are doing! This place is the worst of both worlds in terms of price and service.

I found the staff to be very friendly and knowledgeable and was very timely in getting things done. The man that worked on my car was extremely helpful and knew what he was doing.

While traveling from Greensboro to Topsail Beach we encountered a tire issue that we thought was a flat tire. After pulling off I-40 we realized that it was something other than a flat. We started looking for a tire service and located Murrays. From the moment we walked in, the owner and all his employees were wonderful. They immediately started working on our vehicle and found the issue. It was pouring down rain and we were traveling with three dogs. They made sure we and our dogs were comfortable and secure. Finding the dangerous issue at first was estimated at about $1,000 but the technicians found another solution that repaired our wheel for under $200. We were at the mercy of Murrays where they could have over-charged us because we were stuck but they didnt, thats professionalism and integrity plus quality workmanship. We highly recommend Murrays Tire & Auto, a long established company you can trust with all your service.

I found this place through a Google search and emailed to price a set of used tires before scheduling an appointment. Im so glad I did, because the experience was exactly what I hoped for - reliable work and excellent customer service at a very fair price. The next time I need tires on my car Im going back to Murrays.The only drawback I found was that parking can be tricky. They have a very small front lot. But they do have a nice little Pavilion or gazebo where you can sit outside if the weather is good. This location is also right next to the Harley-Davidson shop, so you can go next door and do some shopping or just look around while you are waiting for your tires or whatever else youre getting done at Murrays.

I had a great experience at Murrays! I was visiting Raleigh for the day from out of town and got a flat tire after running over a screw. When I got to Murrays I prepared to have someone try to upsell me (as a lot of car repair shops do) and expected Id have to replace the tire completely and it would take an hour or so, ruining my day trip plans. I was so pleased when they told me theyd be able to patch up the tire. Jimmy was able to fix the tire in about 20 minutes for $20! I really appreciated their honesty, and ability to get me back on the road quickly, especially since I was unfamiliar with the area and didnt know what to expect. Great customer service - everyone I encountered was extremely friendly and welcoming. 5 stars!!
