Brought in a riding mower to be fixed. Had an estimate from the manager to put a drive belt and a mower belt on for about $160. .by the time all was said and done I paid $460. They never quoated or tried to OK with me the increase. I took it home and the drive deck disengaged. Seems like a repeatable dealer would have told me of this . Since thats their business model to partly fix then hike up the price and threatening to sell your mower if you dont pay the increase. If you want honest quality service. Then I suggest you LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR REPAIRS. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS PLACE HIKED UP THE PRICE THEN THREATENED TO SELL MY MOWER. NEVER AGAIN .LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR QUALITY SERVICE. HERE YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF.. STAY CLEAR
Professional and reliable small engine and equipment repairs. Great guys who know how to fix things the right way. I recommend them to all my clients and friends. 5 Stars.
Friendly, had the stuff I needed before I ever got there and a great price.
Generac home page suggested using Arvin Inc as a support center for my Generac OneWASH pressure washer.Dropped-off pressure washer at about 10-11AM and it was ready by 15:00 the same day.Service was very good and labor cost was reasonable. Tech/Mech was able to diagnose the issue quickly and provided a few tips on how to maintain the unit in good running condition. I recommend this small business.
Dont do business here. My weed eater caught fire after they worked on it. The technician hung up on me when I called to tell them about it. They said that if I wanted a refund, they would have to keep my weed eater in exchange. ??? Extremely unprofessional staff.
Small family owned business thats been around for many years, friendly and knowledgeable
Good place to get your mower fixed! Very knowledgeable, nice and most importantly, prices are spot on and affordable.
I have been taking my zero turn to these guys for three years with no complaints. I called to set up an appointment today and was told very rudely they don’t work on my brand of zero turn. I’ll be taking my loyalty and my cash somewhere else.
These guys at Arvins are top-notch. Michael does a great job with the customers and their techs are top-notch.
My father-in-law and I went to Arvins yesterday after troubleshooting my push mower most of the day. We were at our wits end, but Michael recognized that it was a timing issue and listed a few potential causes.Michael was friendly, informative and passionate about small engine repair. Hands down the best customer service Ive ever received. Ill definitely be recommending Arvins to anyone that asks. Thanks guys!
Had my parts. Michael does great job & good to talk with. Thanks Michael
Called to see if they work on my equipment. Was told they do, once they found out it was a bit more complicating, told me to take it to the mower dealer. Guess they only do simple stuff...
I brought my pressure washer in for repair. After listening to everyone else, tell me that it was something else that was wrong, Arvin figured it out for a lot less than the other places.
Quick service and helpful — the guy behind the counter seems fairly knowledgeable about the issues one may have. I took my mower in and the guy in the back said it would take 3 weeks — they turned it around in a week and a half, and it was cheap! Big plus that it seems local and family owned as well. I’d probably go back as long as I have my Briggs Stratton mower.
I have had equipment serviced at many local places, none of which I would return to another time, with the exception of this one. Repair price was fair. They were honest. No additional work was pushed or billed. The amount of work they have piled outside is a little scary but they told me how long it would take from the onset and they completed within that timeframe.
Extremely rude. did not seem to want to help us at all once he learned this was going to be a factory warranty repair. Then told me it would be two weeks before he could even look at it. This is not what he told me on the phone before I brought it up there. If youre paying cash you would probably have a good experience but any type of warranty repair this would not be the place to take your equipment.
Shannon B,I am not a customer yet, but I intend to be soon.It sounds like they were trying to fix your mower at minimum cost, rather than sell you something you didnt need, which you almost insisted that they do.In many lawn mowers, the starter motor does not have enough torque to overcome the cylinder compression. There is often a rotational-speed-activated mechanism that cracks open a valve a bit until the engine starts up. This mechanism sometimes comes out of adjustment, and when that happens, it is as if the starter motor is dead... it wont crank. But in this case, there is actually nothing wrong with the starter motor. The valves require adjustment.Who knew? Until recently, I did not. I am looking for a new repair service because my old small engine mechanic, who taught me about the valve adjustment when he fixed my mower when it wouldnt crank, has recently retired. I will certainly give Arvin a try.
They rock mower back in 8 days after stating 3 weeks was cheaper than estimate and 130 cheaper than pro mow. thanks guys
Highly recommend. Honest and does great work.
Wow good? They were great. Been looking for an honest lawn mower repair. Wish I found them sooner. Reasonable too!
Over the last 25 years I have always came to Arvin for my small engine parts and service. Staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They always do a excellent job and prices are reasonable. They get busy spring time and you might have to wait longer to have your things repaired, but you know it will be fixed correctly.
Always great service and very knowledgeable
I have been going to Arvins since 1990. When he did tires and would occasionally take a peak at any car engine trouble I was having. Arvins has serviced my lawn mowers, riding and push every year. Wonderful family and GREAT service!
Would give them 1000 stars if I could. Mike is great and knows what he is talking about. Wish all service places were like Arvins
Its really hard to find a mower repair shop that is fair and quick and these guys are both.
Absolutely recommend this business. Brought in a pole saw, they looked at it and called me the next to state it was fixed. Charged me a fraction of what their hourly rate is. I will go back for any future needs.
Good and dependable.
These guys are the best. They have a great can-do attitude and will go the extra mile for you when other shops will turn you down. Had a swamped boat motor with a B&S Vanguard engine and all of the other shops had refused to work on it, even though they were obligated to and Arvin jumped all over it and had it running in short time. Great service and capability. I highly recommend these guys.
I took my Troy Build weed wacker in for service - would not start. They said it was totaled and it would be less to just buy new. I told them I would never buy anything Troy Built again and asked for suggestions for a great brand. They recommended one they did not sell and told me where to go to get it. They never even charged me a bench fee for the service call.... I will give them 100% of my service needs going forward.GREAT PLACE
Always great service at very fair prices. I trust all my small motors to Arvin.
The mechanics are helpful, they finished fixing my mower several days before promised, and their prices are reasonable. You can’t ask for much more!
I have been coming to Arvin for years for my lawn mower parts needs. They also service lawn mowers, trimmers, lawn tractors, and do small engine repair. Be sure to get the model number serial number and code and type of the engine that you have before coming in so that they can give you what you need for your engine. The price for repairs is $35 plus parts for push mowers and is higher for lawn tractors. They will also pick up your lawn tractor for a charge. The charge for pickup depends on your location. They get busy sometimes so it may be hard getting through when you call in but I would suggest calling in first so you know exactly what information about your lawn mower to bring in. They are very knowledgeable, helpful, and polite.
I was referred to Arvins by Hudsons Outdoor Equipment and and I was quickly taken care of. I reached them on the phone as they were closing and they sold me the part over the phone and left it for me to pick up after closing time. One small spring is all I needed yet they took the time I needed as they were closing to make a special arrangement. Ill definitely be going back.
Went in to get a price and availability on a starter motor for our lawn tractor and they tried to tell me I needed a valve adjustment. When I asked for a price on a new starter motor I was asked 50 questions instead. The older lady asked the whole motor? Again I said no just the starter. How do you know its the starter? So I proceeded to tell her the battery and solenoid were good, that we put power directly to the starter and its seized up, it wont turn over. So you mean the ignition switch? No. She then asked the whole motor is seized up?!...again I said no, the starter motor. She replied well it sounds like the valves need adjusted, bring it in and well check it out. I nicely persisted and again asked whats the price on a starter motor...finally was told $117. I dont think she was purposefully being misleading, she just didnt know what the hell she was talking about. The worst thing you can do is give a customer misinformation. I prefer to keep the money local rather then buy from the internet, looks like Ill be taking my business somewhere else!
Best place for repairs on lawn care equipment.
This is the best place to repair your lawnmower. I have used everyone in Cary and several well rated place in Hillsborough st in Raleigh and this guys are far more knowledge, professional and customer service oriented . My lawnmower is 15 years old and this guys make it to work like new. Summer is ending and still sharp and turn on on the first try. You will not be disappointed.
If you need any small engine repair this is the place to go . I forget the name of the worker who helped me but him and his Dad are awesome. They found the parts I needed in 10 minutes for my powerwasher & the son gave me great insight on gas.
Staff knew exactly what we needed and took care of our needs
Great customer service, and parts I needed were in stock.
This place is the only small engine repair shop Ill recommend. Theyve always treated me as VIP, make sure work is right the first time and if not fix it on the spot.
Very very good serv.
I have an assortment of chain saws and lawn equipment that I do all the maintance on myself and I have never been there that they didnt have what I needed or they would go through a box of used serviceable parts to help me. Very knowledgeable and kind folks.

Chain saw works great!
Guys there are awsome and helpful
Great service. Fair price.
Great work, fair priced.
Professional and knowledgable staff. Service many older equipment. I brought my old toro and homelite yard equipment and they were able get parts.
These guys are the bomb. Hudsons referred me because Arvin is the only local place that works on Craftsman. Ive got a 15 year old Craftsman weedeater with multiple interchangeable heads (weedeater, edger, brush cutter) so I wanted to keep it alive for a few more years because replacement for the unit and the attachments would be huge. My weedeater had become hard to start so I took it in. They first checked the compression (which was great) and that told them (and me) that the unit was worth repairing. $70 later, they put a rebuild kit in the carb, fixed the pull rope system, and even ditched the old auto choke system and installed an old school manual choke system. It starts and runs BETTER than new. I wont go anywhere else!
Very helpful - fixed my trimmer on the spot - with a smile!
Great customer service, very knowledgeable and helpful.
Great service friendly people
Great, affordable lawnmower service.
I took 2 weed eaters to get repaired. One was a Poulan pro and the other was a $69 one. Any repair place should call you before they do any repairs. They just call and say its $123 dollars, when i complained that the second weed eater was close to the price that i bought it for, all i heard was silence. I asked if we could work something out, and silence again, then i told him that the repair was too expensive because i could buy it for $69, he responded if you dont want it i will be forced to sell it, people screw me over once in a while i was a bit mad and said thanks bye. I picked up the weed eaters and they worked fine, the next day it took me 20 mins to turn one on. I wont be going back here again. By the way if they just look at your yard machine its $32 which they dont tell you. Try this place at your own risk.
Excellent service and just what was needed for the repair. I am using him for my other mower as well.
Very nice over the phone but when it comes to do the job they just want to get money out of customers.
Great service!
Old school repair place, they only fix whats actually brokenDefinitely will be back
Customer service. Timely turnaround.
Great quick service.
Saw would die unless you gave it throttle. Turned out the idle screw had backed out but luckily was still in the housing. 5 minutes it was fixed and they wouldnt take my money. It literally doesnt get any better, will be back!
This is a repair place you can trust.
Great service
