The gym itself is very nice.Dealing with Paramount Acceptance is not. Called 2x to close my membership and both times the staff were unable to provide contact information for Paramount. When I was finally able obtain contact information, I was informed that I must submit IN-WRITING my intent to terminate my contract THIRTY DAYS in advance. What a racket.
The staff here is great. Jerry is the man. Not too crowded.
This is a good gym that is clean, open, has friendly staff, and a variety of equipment to use for the regular who just wants to stay in shape, or the athlete preparing for next season.
Great gym not to crowded all the equipment is in good shape and clean.
Total scam. They refuse to process refunds properly and tote their commitment to military with easy refund if you PCS, which was a lie. They ignored Paramount’s request to refund me and are now trying to give me a hassle to refund me the proper amount. A membership freeze is too good to be true here ladies and gents. If you freeze your membership, they take that away from your total membership time if you cancel your membership with a move-according to them. Yea makes no sense to me either, it’s not just you. I filed a complaint with several legal channels to resolve this. Thankfully I kept a paper trail of everything (do the same if you decide to go here) and my bank is awesome and going after them for me. The gym was not that great, especially for all this hassle.Update: Paramount’s emails are not upheld by the club. According to Paramount “the clubs can decide to do what they want”. There’s nothing in the contract explicitly stating several things, which allows them to hide their policies from the consumer. The club refused to contact me the 2 months I have been constantly pursuing this (owner and manager). I see a track record of this happening as I file more legal complaints against this gym, so please just be careful, I’m not the first or last person this will happen to. Also same management and all from when it was Gold’s. So no, business aspects and conductions did not change with the change of name.
Overall great experience and atmosphere but the only downside is that the door doesnt always work after hours.
Gym is okay. Cheap, but the group exercise classes are mostly during 9-5 when a lot of people are working. Their billing situation is endlessly annoying. TruFit will completely take care of signing you up for a membership or contract but then if you want to cancel or revise anything youre told to call Paramount, the billing company. I prefer gyms that handle their own memberships start to finish - if you signed me up why cant you also make sure my contract doesnt renew? They wouldnt even allow cancellations during Covid. Regardless, its not the best gym and its not the worst. They have all the standard equipment, weights, sauna, child care, etc. Its just not the gym I want to spend my money on.
Great place to workout with a large variety of machines! I would definitely recommend this place. Awesome personal training staff, well worth the money!
Good luck with their billing company....
Been going to TruFit for a few weeks now and I have to say it is a great gym. The facility is kept clean, the music isnt too loud, and the staff are friendly. The layout of the equipment is good, keeps people from getting too bunched up in one area. The gym has most equipment youll need for anything youd like to do whether its cardio, CrossFit, powerlifting or classes. The daycare is supervised by staff and was well stocked with things to do. Overall a good place to workout.
Very great fitness center.
The sales manager is awesome! Jamie is so knowledgeable and well rounded! The trainers are phenomenal and really motivating! Ramon did a great job at helping keep me on track and always motivated! When you walk in theres always a warm welcome from the front desk staff! Awesome equipment that is always being improved! Brett is always available to answer any questions and bounce any fitness and nutrition ideas off of! Awesome staff and awesome gym!
Best gym in the area, hands down.Offers a full range of exercise opportunities with very well maintained equipment and facilities. Staff treats you like family.Member for 4 years now and the gyms manager keeps making improvements and making the total experience better and better.Keep up the great work.
I have been lifting at Golds for nearly a year now. The gym itself is also great. Nice equipment and always clean. There are plenty of free weights and tons of machines for every body part. The staff is also great. From being greeted with a smile and hello at the front desk to the guys cleaning and maintaining the equipment talking to you. The child care is good also. Very friendly atmosphere. But my favorite thing about Golds Gym SP is the trainers. I have been under Ronnie Jones since March of this year and the guy is top notch. Very knowledgeable and very driven to see you do your best. I have witnessed him tell members he does not even train that they are doing doing great and to keep it up. Support and motivation like that is what makes this place a top quality gym to train at! Highly recommended to anyone wanting to reach their goals!
I love this gym. The people who work there are amazing and incredibly helpful. Im working with personal trainers there (the amazing Mallory and Victoria) and they are making a training program designed specifically for me, and also helping me out with nutrition guidelines! They took measurements, photos and everything. I am incredibly motivated and I feel like its completely personalized which will help me reach my goals! Cant wait to see how much I have changed in a years time!!!! I definitely suggest this Gym for those in the Southern Pines Aberdeen area!!!!!!!!
This gym is a bodybuilders paradise. It is recently converted from a Golds Gym and it has equipment for most every application and exercise. Tanning beds are available and saunas are in each of the locker rooms. My only complaint would be the cleanliness from time to time. The staff makes an excellent effort to keep it clean but a lot of the members are messy. Overall, I do recommend this gym to anyone in the area.
Very versatile equipment would enjoy seeing one more cable machine or smith machine. Awesome that there are drinks, tanning, classes, sauna, personal trainers, and locker rooms. Locker rooms being renovated now! For the money, it encompasses pretty much everything. Unfortunately I was very unimpressed by the tanning beds. They are 20 minute beds and extremely old. Had to pry myself out of one today. Have to go for the full 20 just to see a difference. Rarely greeted by staff. Sales are more concerned about generating more sales than offering quality customer service. Had to ask for a tour, what hours were, if there was an annual fee, what promotions were available, etc. Overall would still recommend this gym over any others in the area!
My best place
Best gym for the price in town. They’ve done a great job recently getting new equipment in and getting more squat racks and new cardio equipment. If they keep making improvements it’s going to get even better. Friendly trainers who will leave you alone if you don’t need help or help out if you need it.
Love the changes Yall need to improve the cleanliness Need constant monitoring of restrooms and equipment It doesnt take a whole lot to go around with a duster Equipment needs oiled again some of it is sticking Please hire a morning cleaning lady Ladies restroom wont stay nice for long It is not routinely disinfected Been reading some reviews and those who say its clean must be coming from a much worse experience or no experience with a truly excellent gym Because its improved doesnt warrant an excellent rating Ive been to Golds gyms and other franchises that would put Southern Pines to shame Again on its cleanliness and equipment maintenance Id rate them a 2 Everything else a good
Because of a deal through health insurance I have 2 gym memberships (one with a competitor up the street). The only reason I use this gym is because of the childcare offered while working out. This facility is pretty grungy and really only seems ideal for people solely interested in lifting weights. There are 4 elliptical machines. One has been out of order with a sign for 2 months now. The other 3 rotate working with today being an all time low of only one (The oldest elliptical mind you) functioning. Also there doesnt seem to be air conditioning and they have a few of these big industrial looking fans that people lug from machine to machine to point at themselves while working out. If I have the option I definitely prefer to use the competitor gym up the street!
I have had a great experience at this Golds Gym! Brett, the GM, is extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone that Ive spoken to/worked with there has been very welcoming and nice. Mondale, my personal trainer, is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and encouraging. I was a little hesitant to join a Golds Gym because I found it to be a bit intimidating, but Ive found that the clientele of this gym is extremely diverse, and Ive never felt judged there. They are currently undergoing renovations, but its never inconvenienced me. Most of the machines are brand new, the locker rooms are upgraded, and its just a fantastic facility! Youre not going to find anything better in the local vicinity.
I have been a member at 3 Golds Gym and a few other gyms. Southern Pines Golds is hands down the best overall facility I have been a member at. First, the staff is incredible. They are nice, caring, and more than willing to facilitate your needs as a member. The gym is constantly improving its gear and making sure everything is up to standard. There is an unlimited amount of classes throughout the week with excellent trainers. Lastly, the members themselves are great. Everyone is friendly and everyone shows each other respect. Excellent facility!
Excellent fitness center under great management! Since changing from Golds to TruFit Gym - this place has improved dramatically. Friendly staff, well-maintained equipment, no cost child care and now a 24-hour access option. The management here continually strives to make improvements. Updated locker rooms and showers, new upholstery on over 40 pieces of equipment and a completely upgraded look - just to name a few. When/if machines break, they are only down for a day or two. This gym is staffed with friendly people who make you feel welcome. Protein shakes, drinks, and other items are for sale, and there is always someone available at the front desk to help. I am grateful there is a facility that offers this much so close to our home! Thank you!!!
Southern Pines Golds Gym is one of the best places I have worked out at. The atmosphere is great, the staff are friendly and very helpful. I would not choose to work out anywhere else. The personal trainers are very knowledgeable and experienced. The gym has many new upgrades and renovations going on right now, only making the gym more inviting.
What a great Gym! Over the past 10 years I have been a member at several gyms, including 24 Hr Fitness in Houston. This is the best gym I have ever belonged to. Very accessible, plenty of machines with alternatives for all muscle groups. Brett and his staff take special care to ensure the facility is clean and inviting.I have been a member for 5 months now, and decided to try out the personal training. Wonderful job by Mallory assessing my fitness( as well as personality) to assign me to the proper trainer. Victoria has been marvelous and extremely motivating ( have lost over 20 lbs since working with her). Wouldnt take any other instructor.Highly recommend this gym
Decent equipment but can get crowded easily. Free weight and bench area is a bit tight compared to the amount of open space. Friendly staff.
I have been going to Golds gym for about 8 months and truly have found an amazing gym to work out at. From the membership staff to management, they are all truly wonderful and knowledgeable. I have to personal training and every trainer I have worked out with has definately gotten the job done. I enjoy walking through the gym front doors everyday. Beyond happy to call this my home away from home. Golds Gym Southern Pines is the BEST!
Best facility for the price in the area, it is very clean, neatly organized and to the point. The machines on the main floor are set up in rows according to major muscle groups. This makes it easy to navigate and less intimidating for new members. All of the staff are very helpful and friendly. I signed up with Jaimie who accommodated all of my requests with sincerity and patience. This gym actually cares about building a good reputation and pleasing their clients. Only complaint I would have is that they need more water fountains, which Im sure they are already working on. Great experience so far, really love it.
This fitness center is by far the best center for the price. And if you are looking for a personal trainer. They have great people that will help you one on one. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone wanting to get into fitness.
This is the best gym I have been to while traveling! Clean, friendly staff, smoothie bar, child care, plenty of classes, tons of equipment, and even friendly members! I took a class here while visiting the Southern Pines area. I took a class with Christy who is an amazing and energetic instructor! She greeted me immediately upon arrival. Several of the ladies in class spoke to me and one even help me find equipment! The gym offers complimentary water. The staff at the smoothie bar is extremely pleasant. The childcare staff was great as well. If I ever come back to the area I will definitely stop in again! Highly recommend this place!
TruFIT Gym is an amazing place to be a member! Group exercise classes, kids care and tanning are all included in my membership. My personal trainer has also helped keep me accountable and helped me get closer and closer to reaching my health and wellness goals. The equipment is all updated and they are frequently adding new machines and updating the facility.
I have been training at Golds for a year and a half now with Ronnie Jones as my trainer. He is by far the best trainer ever!! He is so incredible at what he does. During my time with him Ive gone from never stepping foot into a gym, to stepping on stage in a bikini competition. The gym as a whole is a great atmosphere. I have found a family in people that work and train there.
This place is great. They have two membership options: regular hours or 24-hour entry with membership tag. Free weights, cardio equipment, fitness classes, trainers, get your BMI checked, and you can purchase freshly made smoothies at the counter.
Ive been working with the training staff at this Golds since April, in particular, Mallory. Traveling as much as I do for work, it has been a blessing to be able to contact her from as close as around the corner, to half way around the world. (Its true, we kept in touch via text while I was in Japan!) She keeps me on track as far as eating plans, dietary supplements, and impromptu workouts when the local area gyms arent up to par. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to improve their overall lifestyle and fitness, to get in touch with Mallory.
Absolutely love this gym!! Front desk staff is so knowledgeable and friendly! Sales manager, Jamie, is super helpful! I had a question and she was on top of it! You can really see the team work amongst the staff! Great equipment thats always being updated.
We were visiting for an exercise and bought the day pass. Everyone was really nice, the place was clean and the equipment was nice. I recommend this place for anyone visiting the area. They have a nice juice bar / shake stand and there were a bunch of personal trainers on scene helping people. Thanks for the lift!
The guest pass is false advertisement!!!! Dont fall for it! You will be charged $12 to try out the facility unless you join. I was told that I would have to purchase a membership in order to use the free pass and avoid the $12 daily fee which is backwards in my opinion. This process is a turn off and does not encourage anyone to join your establishment. Fitness Connection has TRUE guest passes for 7 days with no hassle.
Nice place. Classes are timed during child care (and the ladies there are GREAT!!). Bathrooms are constantly being cleaned. Friendly people. lots of equipment and Ive rarely had to wait to use anything.I only joined 2 weeks ago, but so far I like it a lot.
Great gym, friendly happy staff, and very clean. Classes are fun and a great workout, love the childcare staff and the hours for childcare are perfect for catching the classes offered. Added bonus is the tanning beds! Lots of convenient amenities. Thanks guys!
My personal trainer Julia is awesome! She always keep me motivated and challenges me to the best of my ability to word hard and never give up! One improvement I suggest is more room. The gym seems a little overcrowded at times and possibly more equipment.
The mixxedfit class was great but the fee i was charged was ridiculous. I go online for a free pass to get a call in return saying that if I wasnt interested in joining I couldnt get the pass..but is that not want the pass is for? For me to try it out then decide if I wanna join..CLEARLY ITS NOT!..its false advertisement..and this is whether you come alone or with a member..I was told by the worker the fees were..12.00 for one day, 19.99 for three days and 39.99 for a week extremely high when I pay 40 a month at the gym that I go to..so I paid the 12 but u better believe Ill never go back to this gym again Ill just ask the young lady that invited me to come with me to the gym I attend for 5 with a member and if she wants to go without me its ONLY 10
I really enjoy TruFit. Theyve gotten new equipment and gear since switching from Golds to TruFit. They definitely upgraded! Staff is friendly, manager is awesome, and the personal trainers are very knowledgeable. I had Liesel and I loved her! She showed no mercy. The people that go there are fine. Ive heard were people complain about them being rude or whatnot. Its a gym, not a cookout. 95% of people there are in the zone and doing their thing. Theyre not there to meet friends and the ones I have met have been friendly.
This is the first gym Ive belonged to in a long time where I look forward to going. Great people, encouraging staff and trainers! Ronnie Jones is the BEST trainer, EVER!!!!!!! He takes time out to explain how to use a machine or show me something that would benefit me.
Ive been attending golds gym since 2014. I oringinally chose golds over the local gyms because of child care. I was new to the gym scene then. The gym has exceed my expectations. They are always constantly upgrading. Ive also worked with trainers that have helped me lose weight and keep me motivated after having my babies. I highly recommend them to all of my mom friends all the time.
Going to Golds Gym in Southern Pines has become an important part of my daily regimen and one of my favorite times of the day. Has definitely helped me improve my fitness, build strength, and working out there always makes the stress fall away. There is a feeling of community and camaderie that supports the members (all levels) to achieve their fitness goals. Great facilities and friendly supportive staff. Lots of space to work at your own level.
I joined a couple months ago and have loved it so far! I work with Victoria as my personal trainer and she is great! She always pushes me and I never get bored with the workouts. The entire staff always greats you with a smile :) This gym has everything you will need for a great workout, I just wish they had a lap pool!!
This gym is quite adequate. Their daycare hours could use a bit of work, particularly being open during times where single parents tend to work out and actually need daycare. However, there arent homeless people in the bathrooms like the one on Bragg BLVD in Fayetteville so thats a plus.
Great gym, amazing STAFF, but they need a new tanning bed and/or new bulbs. I actually signed up for the month to month plan because if they don’t UPDATE the tanning bed soon I’m switching to the new Anytime Fitness in Pinehurst (which is only a 4 min drive from me). Anyway, overall a great experience and BEST STAFF ANYWHERE. They all are so so friendly and work so hard. They are honestly the only reason I haven’t left. I believe they all deserve a raise.UPDATE: March 24th, 2020__________________________________________I’m updating my review of Tru Fit in Southern Pines/ Pinehurst Area, and I should have done it sooner, because they listened to my response and purchased a NEW tanning bed. Everything about this gym deserves FIVE STARS!⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
The personal trainers at this location are the best. I have had experience with a few of them and they were all great and I am seeing results in a short amount of time. All the staff are super friendly and it is just a great atmosphere here.
I recently joined and worked with Mallory Nolan, who I must say is phenomenal! She was extremely thorough during the fitness assessment and during the review/recommendations of what best suited my needs. Mallory not only covered the exercises, but also Incorporated a basic food plan to enhance the much needed addition of extra protein into my diet. I highly recommend Mallory to all.It wouldnt be fair of me not to mention Brad, who signed me up. Everyone that I have come into contact with, has exceeded my expectations! I am looking forward to my many visits to the gym!Thank you all,Mary Laverne Gebert
This is probably one of the best gyms out. I came in to evaluate the gym because I am moving to the area and wanted to start the new year off right. Bradley was extremely knowledgeable and made me feel very welcome. I am definitely going to get a membership when I come and I cant wait to get started!
I wholeheartedly recommend Ronnie Jones as a personal trainer. His exacting attention to proper form and technique lead to maximum effort, maximum results and avoidance of injury. His positive energy and encouraging personality also allow hard work to be fun.
I am very unhappy with the new management of this Gym. Called to cancel my membership and was told still had to pay a full month even though my months fee had just come out of my account. They have also charged me a wellness fee TODAY for the year AFTER i informed them i was cancelling my membership. No proration just a charge knowing i won’t be there. I’ve been with Golds over 2 years with no problems. But absolutely dislike the new management.
Very motivated to begin my new training with Mallory. She was very helpful to personalize my training for specific goals that I requested. She is very sincere and cares about your health and fitness needs. Cant wait to get started and see my results!
DO NOT USE THIS GYM!!!! The gym itself was fine. BUT my husband went in and specifically told the manager that he did not want to do a contract bc our jobs move us around all the time. He said no worries there wouldnt be anything like that. My husband paid for he and myself, signed the receipt for the charge of that month. Was told we just have to come in to let them know when we have to move and the monthly charges would stop.Went in to cancel, given a card for National Fitness to cancel. Was told by National Fitness that we do indeed have a 36 MONTH CONTRACT. I requested a contract emailed to me. They took my husbands electronic signature for the receipt and placed it on the contract. My husband NEVER received any form of paperwork or was told that he was in fact signing a contract. Now we are moving and National Fitness, the company this gym uses is not letting us cancel our contracts even though I have a bank statement, etc. to verify the move. We have to each pay $199.00 to cancel the contracts.Google this company and you will see nothing but complaints about this fraudulent company who constantly rips customers off. PLEASE RUN, Use another gym in the area that does not treat or use companies that treat their customers so horribly.
Thumbs down!!!! I Find this gym leaves a lot to be desired. Management needs to learn the meaning of true customer service. Not friendly at all. Decent facilities if you want to work out alone; but Do NOT get talked into any training sessions. Gym Seems to not be able to hold on to qualified trainers. Have several training sessions yet to be used but good trainers Never seem to stick around.
Ive been going to this Golds for 3 years now. It is the best gym for weight lifting in the area. They recently updated the locker rooms, updated the outside and have been adding new equipment. The facility is always clean and the staff is friendly.
Great people, but not enough equipment to meet the needs of the clients. What equipment is there is poorly maintained. Classes are not scheduled around the needs of those that work traditional Monday through Friday schedules.
I joined Golds at the beginning of year as an alternative to my previous gym. I was uneasy walking in as Im not used to this type of gym setting. Everyone I met with from gathering information to signing up was beyond helpful. Within the first week I took a fitness assessment and ended up signing up for a years worth of personal training. I am on week 6 now and I couldnt say enough good things. My trainer, Liesel, has pushed me and created workouts to hold me accountable and really show me results. I cant wait to see the results as the year progresses. Id definitely recommend this gym to anyone interested in a friendly, not intimidating, helpful gym!
I have been a Golds Gym member since 1998. It is perfect for me. They have all sorts of cardio machines, free weights, circuit machines, classes to take and various exercises for the cross fit connoisseur. You cant beat the membership price, superior to all other gyms around the area. Going out of town, no worries, you can work out at any Golds Gym around.Great place to be!
My mother used to go to this gym.She had an active membership for many years. She was diagnosed with cancer and battled with it for a year.So she wasnt using the gym.All of these so called wonderful people NEVER called to see where she was but continued to hit her account for a year.My mom passed.I took care of her affairs and everyone was wonderful, kind and considerate.NOT golds gym!!!!these people put me through hell over 20 bucks a month.I could not believe what these people expected me to do to cancel my 70 year old mothers membership. We played the you have to call these people no these people no these people oh no we need her ssd number oh no death certificate 5 hrs later still not settled .go to hell golds gym
The gym was clean, equipment was nice and new. Staff very knowledgeable about fitness and eager to help. Pleasant atmosphere to workout in. Love the manager Brett and personal trainer Mallory, I think they are great at what they do.
I am reading reviews, member elsewhere, and i think its wonderful that you all respond to the reviews. It lets the members know that YOU all are concerned and are listening, keep up that part, says a lot about you. Maybe you should pass this on to the other locations. 5 Stars just for responses and i dont even go to your location
I am really enjoying the Southern Pines Golds Gym! The classes are fantastic and the instructors are so great - encouraging and motivating. The facility is what you would expect of a gym, with plenty of space and equipment available and restrooms w/ample showers, toilets & a sauna! My big complaint is that members pay a facility fee once per year and yet the Air Conditioning does not work!! I have heard from multiple people that it often gets band aided, yet is broken every summer. This makes it incredibly hot in the classrooms especially (even at 9am!) and not safe for exerting extra energy, especially for some of the older patrons. Fix this and Ill give it 5 stars!
They have a lot of equipment and some space for independent/floor work. It is almost always busy regardless of time of day but I have rarely had to wait for equipment or weights. The staff is friendly. Personally it is overpriced for me but when I first moved here it was the cheapest option and I got suckered into a three year contract so be careful. Their recent updates to the locker rooms have been very nice. They have good personal trainers. The biggest disappointment for me is their lack of weekend hours and times for classes, but that is something I probably should have researched before joining. If you want a good workout, you can certainly get it at Golds.
The staff is very nice and they help you with whatever you need. Equipment is clean and the shakes are great. The prices are also very affordable.
For 2yrs this has been my sanctuary. All positive vibes. Very encouraging staff. Defiantly a great place for both the novice and the more experienced lifters and fitness enthusiast.
Love this gym! Ronnie Jones is the best personal trainer ever! I go in there mid afternoon everyday and Brett, Mallory, Aridai, and Jamie make it a lovely experience every time! If you are looking for a gym look no further!
The treadmills facing the weights is a bit awkward and the gym can get so hot that the windows fog up. However, the weight and machine selection is top notch and the smoothie bar and child care availability is a massive plus.
This is a great gym! The workers are incredibly sweet! The new equipment is great also. Its a very clean gym and just over all a great place.
Great staff. Jamie was incredibly helpful and made signing up super easy! The equipment is nice and clean, so far a great place to get a good workout in!
They have all the necessary equipment including 3 platforms and bumper plates.
Golds gym has been a great gym with a variety of machines to use for workouts. We also have a great trainer, Derek, who has helped my fiancé and I out with training and giving us different workouts we can do! the support and encouragement from everyone at golds gym has really been motivating!
My wife and myself joined 2 months ago, we could not be more pleased, our trainer is Alex, he has been great, very patient and understanding, We have been very impressed with all aspects, highly recommend.
Great gym! The price is competitive but I do wish they had a platform and chalk.
I previously left a 5 star review but had to amend it after what just happened... my husband and I have both been gone since September for military reasons. We could have suspended our memberships but didnt because we dont want to hurt our gym after the loss we assume happened during covid. In January my credit card expired. I didnt realize my Tru Fit membership was linked to this card. The company Tru Fit uses for payment says they called me and left voicemails yet I have no missed calls or voicemails. I wanted to pay the missed months and continue my membership but the company hit me with outrageous fees. I explained I havent even been to the gym in 9 months (I am the perfect gym member!) and I am not going to pay their fees when I wasnt even reached about it and continue being a member. Sadly they seem to not value customer service or their patrons at all. So I am paying the outrageous amount today and I will never be a Try Fit member again.
I love the classes. They make working out fun. And my trainer, Victoria is amazing! Shes constantly pushing me to be my best and holds me accoutable.
Clean gym, friendly staff and gym-goers, lots of options for those who want to use weights, take a class, cardio, or something a little private. Trainers are friendly and very helpful, and the supplements are plentiful. Great place to go and workout or just clear your mind.
Best gym in the southern pines, Aberdeen, Pinehurst area by far. If youre an experienced lifter theyve got just about all you need. If you break down the pricing it is just as good or better than anywhere else, especially with the amount of equipment they have compared to other places. Just one FYI is that when you sign up for a membership, you arent billed monthly, you pay for the whole thing up front. I dont have a problem with it personally but it can be a lot of cash out of pocket all at once depending on whatever length membership you get. But on the flipside you dont have to worry about any payments or anything after that. You can also get a 24hr access membership upgrade for higher cost but the regular hours are still plenty suitable enough that you probably wouldnt even need 24hr access 95% of the time. Even without 24 hour access you can still show up right before regular hours end and stay until you finish your workout, you just have to get in before they lock up.
After my previous gym closed, I came to Golds in late 2012. Ive made great connections there and am always welcomed by many of the staff and members. The manager, Brett, is an outstanding individual who knows how to run an effecient business. Glad to be a part of this gym.
Its a gym... nothing more or less special than any other
Great Gym. Ive been going here for a coupe years and I like it. Victoria is a great trainer she has helped me with my workouts and getting my nutrition right!
I have been going to Golds Gym since Feb. 2015. It is a great gym with lots of equipment and great classes. The best part, though, is Kearstin, my personal trainer. She is great and has helped me immensely. Having Kearstin as my trainer keeps me going in the right direction. She is always available to answer my questions. I would flounder otherwise.
Great folks that make a great team! For someone who has never worked out before, I have learned a tremendous amount of great information and I AM seeing results and am on my way to meeting my fitness goals!
Ive been working out here for almost 3 years. The staff are super friendly and kind. Although I dont personally use a trainer, watching them train clients to reach their personal goals is awesome! The equipement is always up to date, and they are constantly adding new things to spice up training. If you havent found a home gym and live in our neck of the woods, you should definately check it out!
This is the best gym in the area, by far. It is newly renovated, so everything is in great condition, and has everything you need from free weights, to Crossfit areas, to cardio. The people area beyond nice, and theres a real community feeling in there that is rare in todays gyms. If youre in the area, definitely check them out!
Awesome gym, the staff is extremely friendly and the gym is pretty clean only downfall is there isnt that many cardio machines and at times you have to wait for an open one
I love going to this gym, they keep it very clean and have every machine imaginable. My trainer through Golds Gym always pushes me and encourages me, keeping my workouts different and effective each time.
The gym is being updated the equipment is new. The trainers are dedicated and the staff is always helpful and friendly. This is the best gym in the area.
My fiancé and I started going to Golds Gym back in February and we have really enjoyed going there. They have a ton of equipment to choose from (machines, free weights, classes, and cardio equipment), and a very friendly and encouraging staff. Our trainer Derek always gives us different workouts to do and he isnt afraid to push us.
I was thoroughly impressed with the training staff. Ive learned allot about my own body and they have pushed me last what I thought were limitations. I drive an extra 35 minutes just to use their facility.
Gold’s Gym uses a separate company to handle its billing. The contracts are set up to nickel and dime you. The employees (both at Gold’s Gym and at the billing company) don’t really know the contracts themselves, as there were three separate occasions where I was told something completely wrong, or wasnt told something important that cost me even more.Gym itself is fine.
This gym has improved by leaps & bounds since Brett, Mallory & Ronnie arrived. Excellent weight training atmosphere.
DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM! This is run by sleazy people who act like they do everything to help you. I was in the area for the summer for an internship and only needed to join for the summer. While signing up I was told how easy it is to cancel and that I would only need to provide 30 days notice of relocation.Upon doing this I was told 15 different things by each representative of National Fitness on all these fees I had to pay, even though I provided the correct documentation. They argued with me that Blacksburg, VA was within driving distance to this gym (mind you, this is a 4 hour drive). What a joke. I am still being charged every month from these scoundrelsDo not trust these people with your money, they will do everything they can to squeeze you dry of money
Extremely nice place to get a workout. Friendly staff
Great gym, really clean. Only thing to improve would be more squat racks.
Great staff!! Always friendly and smiling! All the gym equipment/trainers you could need for your personnal fitness goals!
Very nice experience they actually care about you .. My new Favorite place to work out
Management is sleazy, rude, manipulative and lack integrity. They will do everything in their power to suck you dry of every dime you have unapologetically. They show no interest in genuinely trying to find you the best membership for their clients, its only about how much money they can generate to meet their monthly goal. Personal trainers are nice but sessions cost an arm and a leg for the time alloted. Contracts are nearly impossible to cancel without incurring a $199 dollar cancellation fee per individual. Facility is average at best and the amenities are sub par for the price. If you are interested in joining a genuine gym environment I would recommend you stay far away from this sketchy place!
