I can not say enough good things about the Pendergrass Academy of Martial Arts. If you are looking for a program and want to feel like you are part of something, part of an amazing extended family, look no further. The instruction is outstanding and for the kiddos they learn so much more than just martial arts. This program includes teaching responsibility, being honest, trustworthy, andso much more. They also focus on the importance of hard work and that when you put in the work, anything is possible. Hard work pays off! I have 2 little guys who love coming to class each week. As soon as you walk through the door you automatically feel at home. No matter how anxious you are, you will be confronted by all the smiling faces in the gym. Sanitation is outstanding. The mat get cleaned after every class. There’s an amazing kids program that i recommend to anyone whose kids need help with discipline, focusing, or who just want to have fun time and get some exercise in. The kids learn important life lessons likes honestly, respectfulness, trust, etc. PAMA also has a STORM team (special team of role models) that help out with kids classes and inspire the kids to want to be on the STORM team one day too. Phenomenal instructors as well!! PAMA is just on big family and there is no place i’d rather train at.

I am in the process of relocating to the Wake Forest area and I visited PAMA for the first time this week. The cleanliness of their facility was very impressive and I felt welcome from the moment I walked through their door. Very knowledgeable instructors and everyone was friendly and helpful. I learned some new choke defenses while I was there and I enjoyed the open mat session at the end of class. Cant wait to return again!

Amazing academy with awesome instructors and staff. My son and I both have started training Brazilian Jui-Jitsu at Pendergrass Academy of Martial Arts (PAMA)and from the very second you walk in the door you feel welcomed. This is important to everyone but especially to a female starting something completely new in a primarily male dominated sport. They make things super easy and accessible with scheduling classes through an APP as well as a wide variety of times for each experience level. I would hands down recommend anyone looking to get into Brazilian Jui-Jitsu or Muay Thai, come check out PAMA.

I’ve heard good things about PendergrassAcademy for years now. I flew into Raleigh airport and didn’t want to sit in traffic so I stopped in here for a class.The facility is beautiful! With all the amenities you’d want to find at an academy (they even have coffee available in the lobby!) Everything there exceptionally CLEAN, especially the mats, something that is paramount to see when you’re dropping in for a class. The group of students there were all friendly, the instructor was knowledgeable that all made for an informative and enjoyable class. I’d definitely recommend this place for the first time to martial arts individual or a seasoned practitioner.

As a frequent traveler, I rarely find an academy that has everything Im looking for. Pendergrass Academy checked all the boxes for a great experience, professionalism, cleanliness, courtesy and most importantly quality instruction! From the moment I walked through the doors, their friendly staff greeted me and gave me a brief tour of their fantastic facility which included two separate mat areas, lockers, showers, bathrooms and even sitting areas for spectators. The professors took the time to shake my hand and introduce themselves. The folks training were also free of ego and welcomed me as one of their own. I cant say enough great things about Pendergrass Academy of Martial Arts!

They take the time to give me pointers and help me get better. The schedule flexibility is great as well. I really enjoy the morning classes and it is always a good turn out. Tells you a lot about a place when a crowd of students show up at 6:15 in the morning to train. I highly recommend it. Do not think twice about checking out PAMA family.

The Pendergrass academy of martial arts is a wonderful place. I started training there when I was 14 years old and guy and rob have helped teach me not only elite martial arts but discipline and humbleness. The environment is by far one of the most positive family friendly atmosphere’s I’ve experienced in my life. I 100% recommend this academy to anyone who is interested in martial arts.

The Pendergrass brothers have shown exceptional leadership. To me any black belt can shove you around and bully you that takes no leadership skills at all but to be patient and to show technique in a way that benefits the student to the fullest extent while maintaining professionalism and charisma takes a good amount of skills and I believe PAMA has that. You can be good at JiuJitsu and horrible at leading/teaching but at PAMA I wholeheartedly believe they embody both. Out of any place Ive ever trained Ive never been as impressed as I am with PAMAs leadership.

Im in town visiting family and dropped into PAMA yesterday for open mat. Before coming to town I was in contact with Sue and Sue was great with information and very welcoming. PAMA is an amazing academy - the instructors are patient and knowledgeable, the staff are always happy and helpful, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. My 5 year old and I both train - Professor Boo does a great job teaching the kids techniques and discipline while keeping it fun and engaging. My son is always excited to train and is disappointed if we cant make a class. In the adult classes, not only are the professors great but the fellow students are helpful and willing to meet me where I am but push me all at once. This place gets 5 stars and you would be silly not to stop in to check it out!

We have two kids that have been attending Pendergrass Academy for 2 months now and they absolutely love it. The instructors are awesome with teaching them proper techniques as well as discussing character development topics. Highly recommend it! We started with the two week trial and after the first session the kids wanted to sign up. Our only regret is not attending sooner.

Been training for years, this is by far the best run and most professional place I have ever trained. Only wish I had come here nine years ago instead, but am here now and really enjoying myself. Great instructors, very professional, and always ready to help.

I recently attended a self defense class taught by Rob and Guy. We were able to practice moves to quickly react to a situation that would enable someone to escape a sudden attack. On top of that, we were instructed on how to be aware of possible situations. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, and Rob and Guy were so informative, great instructors and extremely knowledgable. I would highly recommend this class! Loved it!

My two boys go here. They are 6 and 7 years old and the instructors have them on the mats grappling ! My older son did Jujitsu in another place and they got tested on how many push ups they can do. Here the OWNERS and other instructors teach the kids real Jujitsu and test them on what they learn. Both boys have learned so much in such a short time. I cant rave about this place enough Guy and Rob really know the sport and know how to teach and make it fun for children.

5 stars doesnt even come close to expressing how much we love Pendergrass Academy! Our son started BJJ here almost 1 year ago, and it has been an unbelievably incredible experience for our entire family. Our son has found a sport that he loves, established positive relationships with students and professors alike, and we have watched his self confidence improve drastically. On top of the wonderful coaching, the professors have created a strong character development program through which our son has learned about respect, work ethic, manners and more. They have done an amazing job at creating a family friend environment that makes everyone feel welcome.

My husband has known these local brothers for years and has trained for some time. We started our son when he was 6 and he still loves it at 10! We couldn’t have found a better family environment to grow in the art of Jiu Jitsu. My husband uses what he learns here at Pendergast to keep and him in great shape and ready to protect himself in his public safety job. Our son had gained confidence and it is great exercise after sitting in school all day! The benefit of the both of them training here they show each other what they learn when they get home. We now have mats at home they can get away from the “screen” and have father/son fun!

Was visiting from out of town on a business trip. I made it by in time to take part in the no-gi class where I learned some interesting tips and tricks that I will definitely utilize in my game. Very clean kept. This gym seems to have both the aspects of a family gym but also those of a gym that excels in competition. Great people, very welcoming. Would recommend to anyone dropping in like myself or to someone who just wants a good place to learn good jiu jitsu.

I have never been in the best shape, have terrible cardio and flexibility and will never be very technical, but always feel very welcome and encouraged at Pendergrass. That is my favorite part of PAMA. When I feel less than worthy a 30 second conversation with just about anyone there makes me wonder why I am not there for every class. Pendergrass has the perfect blend of Great staff, coaches and training partners. Joining has helped get me out of the house, exercise and find a new self worth! Do they make a 6 star review because I Cannot recommend it enough!
