We had our son’s birthday party at KI. It was a huge success and all the kids had a great time! The staff was awesome with the kids and kept them entertained. I only brought a cake and everything else was done including tables decorated and gift bags for the kids. The extra charge for board cutting was worth it- all the kids thought it was the coolest thing! We could not have been happier and had tons of positive comments from the parents.
My 5 year old son started in the Little Samurai class (3-5 years old) and really caught on to the character development and listening skills that Mr. Tsikos and Mr. Rowe promote along with an introduction to age-appropriate karate movements and techniques. He has tried a lot of different sports and programs over the years and I have never seen him even close to as engaged and focused as he was right from the start in his karate classes. My son was able to try out the dojo with the new student promotion (3 classes and a uniform) which was inexpensive without much of a commitment to start with. The price for enrollment after that at least in our experience has been well worth it. My son loves it and the great improvement in his behavior at home even after just his first class have been priceless. Highly recommend to anyone!
My daughter did karate for nearly 2 years with Karate International and it was a wonderful experience for her. The instructors were fantastic and she learned a lot of valuable skills.
The instructors are truly excellent with kids. They have all of the qualities of great teachers, including patience, clear instructions, positive attitude, encouragement, organization, and humility. My son loves karate here and is motivated to earn his black belt. We are very happy with our choice of karate school and are willing to drive an extra distance to attend.
We absolutely love Karate International. Our son, who has anxiety and ADHD, has been greatly helped by participating in karate. We love the small, family atmosphere here. The instructors are fun yet focused, and they do a great job of motivating the kids to be the best they can be. They have worked so hard during the pandemic to provide virtual private lessons, virtual group lessons, outdoor classes, etc to help keep the kids going. This was the ONLY thing our son did to interact for a long time during lockdown, and something as simple as the fact that his instructor realized he got a haircut and commented on it meant the world to me. No one else was seeing him--but his instructors were, and they cared enough to REALLY see him. Thank you. We have been here for 2 years and look forward to many more. I could not recommend this Dojo more highly!
We started our son in the Little Samurai class last fall and he loves it! We wanted him to have a place to go have fun with other kids his age and learn self discipline. He definitely gets both at KI and more. The instructors are all amazing and the older students look out for the younger ones. We are so happy we joined and look forward to him being there for years to come.
My daughter finally found her groove, and its here, at the dojo.
Really good, my son loved it
We love training at KI - West Raleigh. We enrolled our children first, then decided to join them! The adult classes are challenging and the family classes are fun for all. Ive seen increased coordination and concentration in my kids. Personally, I know I am much stronger and more confident! Its great to have the goal of reaching black belt. I highly recommend Mr. Rowe and his team at KI-West Raleigh!
This is a great place to bring your kids. They are so inclusive and accommodating, that it makes you trust your kids arein great hands. My son had his first class, was a hyperactive little mess, but you’d never have known that with how well the instructors did with him. He has a new love, and it is helping us with his ability to focus and control his impulses. This is excellent for anyone who needs help with providing structure and discipline.
My son has been attending Karate International for a long time and it has been fabulous. The instructors, Mr. Rowe and Mr. Tsikos are amazing and it is like a family where he can meet his friends, as well. He loves going there, in-spite of his very busy schedule. He loves the opportunity to teach classes and it is a great place to grow. We LOVE Karate International.
This place is great for our kids! The staff is very polite, kid friendly, and knowledgeable. My kids just started recently and look forward to going back soon. Just within the first class, my kids have already learned so much. I would highly recommend. My kids are 5 and 3.
KI of West Raleigh has had a significant, positive impact on my son. In addition to teaching adults and nurturing children to learn karate, the team at KI-West incorporates real life situations in their daily lesson, which teaches children, and adults, right and wrong; strong character traits; how to set and meet or exceed goals; etc. KI-West even supports the community through outreach and volunteerism, further exemplifying to their students ways to give back and make a positive impact in the world. KI reinforces what we try to teach our children at home. But, they do it in a fun, energetic way. The lessons KI teaches of discipline, self control, honesty and perseverance, all in a nurturing, positive atmosphere, will stay with my son for the rest of his life, where he too will hopefully make a positive impact on the world. And for that, I’m eternally grateful. #KIwRocks
Our two sons (8 and 3 years old) started classes at the beginning of January. We have nothing but great things to say about this place! Our boys LOVE it and are so excited to go every week. The instructors are just the best. They are so encouraging and made both the boys feel like they fit right in. They are so attentive to each student to make sure they really understand what they need to be doing. Not only has this been such a great physical activity for them, but it is also teaching them how to be respectful to everyone around them, take care of their bodies and develop better focus. We are beyond thankful for finding this place and what a positive impact it has been on our boys!
We’ve been actively enjoying classes at this dojo for over four years! The instructors are well prepared and want to see each student do their best. Karate is more than just a fitness class, students learn respect, values, and self-discipline. I highly recommend KI West Raleigh!
We love Karate International West Raleigh! The instructors are great with kids of all ages and really care about all the students. Each class has just the right amount of instruction, fun, and character lessons that leave my daughter looking forward to her next class!
My nephew has attended the classes here at Karate International for over 2 year and has grown so much from the experience. The instructors are amazing and you can tell how much they care about their students. His confidence and self-esteem has grown and enriched his life in many ways. We are so happy to have found this dojo.
This is a fantastic karate school. This has been my second home for the past 3 years. I have watched my 3 children earn their black belts here. They have learned discipline, determination and healthy living to help prepare them for the future.I also practice karate here. The instructors are wonderful and very patient. The family atmosphere allows parents and kids to get a great workout and develop life skills through martial arts.
I love West Raleigh Karate. I have been attending for about two years. As a student of many martial arts in the past this dojo is where I will finally achieve my goal of black belt. The instructors are top notch, and they actively care about their students. The sense of family and support is amazing and makes this the best dojo I have ever had the opportunity to be a part of. Come and join us you wont regret it!
Awesome instructor Chester does a great job.
I like it [frog eat bug] I recommend :>
We are coming up on a year with KI of West Raleigh. The instructors take their time with the students and give the attention needed for them to advance. On top of the karate skills that they learn, they are also taught character building to enhance what is being taught at home. I have been absolutely pleased.
Our family has been attending for more than four years, and both children and adults have enjoyed it, become fitter, and have become stronger!
Our kids have trained at the dojo for almost 7 years. They love their “karate family,” and Karate International has been a place where they can go and see friends and their instructors and feel like everyone is glad to see them and that they are cared about. Beyond the physical activity benefits, the social benefits for our kids is equally as important. My husband started training their after our daughters started. We also hosted our youngest’s birthday party there this weekend, and it was one of the best parties she’s had. Mr. Tsikos and Mr. Rowe handled everything (including all decorations, goodie bags, games, and clean up!), and the kids had a terrific time. It was the perfect party set up for a group of very active boys and girls.
My three kids have been going here for nearly three years, and this dojo is truly a part of our family. Mr. Rowe and his team have taken the time to learn about my children and help them achieve their very best in karate. This dojo is about more than just learning cool karate moves, it is about educating students to be compassionate leaders in all parts of their lives. We are so grateful to be a part of this karate school.
Waaaaaaay overpriced. Not only was there an outrageous sign up charge, they charge it again after a year. Make you sign a 3 yr contract after the first year and then charge you $500 maximum by NC law for canceling. That’s after a crazy monthly fee. Just beware, owners look at it like a business rather than a dojo. My son has learned more in 3 months at our new place than yr and half at KI. Do your self a favor and try out the TKD schools in the area before you commit. Wish someone had warned me.So the viewers are very clear on the owners response ( and I don’t want this to happen to others). I had paid a yr in advance and was due $750 of unused fees. I was told I was only getting $250 back, when I told them they were immoral and unethical, and I was appalled, I was given 350 back. Others I have talked to paid the full 500 cancellation fee. This is now how a martial art dojo should be run. All about money. No upfront fees or contract at our new place and kids getting the true M/A experience. Do your homework before committing.
Our son has been going there for just over 1 year now and has just been promoted to a Green Belt. He loves the classes, the teachers, and especially Sensei Rowe. What we love about KI is that they not only teach Karate, but also self discipline, ethics, morales and other valuable traits that will serve our son well in his life. If you want to try Karate, you or a child, I would strongly encourage you give Karate International of West Raleigh a try.
My son is 3.5 yr old and very active as most 3 to 4yr olds are.....did know what we could get him in at such a young age and then we came across KI groupon so we tried it will worth every penny and now have sign him up for a yr...this school caters to younger kids and they know exactly what to do to keep them interested while learning some great moves!!!!! Love this place!!!!!!!
Sensei Rowe and the team hes built are truly committed to the martial arts. Love the full visibility into the dojo, floor-to-ceiling glass panes create an airy and open feeling. Great instructors who care about the students. its actually in the Leesville area, close to 540, Brier Creek, 4-5 miles from the Finley YMCA and theres a Food Lion in the same strip mall.
My son is currently earning his black belt at Karate International of West Raleigh and I could not be happier. The instructors there are great with children of ages!
It is a great place to go if you want to learn karate
My daughter is 5 years old and is a little Samurai Black Belt. She loves Karate and as parents we are thrilled that Karate International has been able to provide a loving and nurturing environment for her. Ms. Bauguss, Mr. Tikos and Mr. Rowe are excellent teachers and definitely excel at handling little kids and know how to keep them engaged. I have studied and practiced many different styles of martial arts like Kyokushin Kai Kan Karate, Tae Kwondo, Jujitsu, Kung Fu, Aikido and Tukong. Over the years I have learnt that martial arts is way more than just kicking and punching. Instilling proper values (like respect, responsibility, courtesy, self-control, paying attention to teachers and seniors, focus, self discipline etc.) and good principles of life are key elements of any good martial arts program . Good moral values and discipline are also essential for a successful martial artist whether they are inside a dojo or outside the dojo leading daily life. Karate International provides that training with great emphasis. I would not trade this training for anything else. This institution is so good, that my daughter, even after a long day at school looks forward to going to class and she does her best. This is truly one of the best Martial Arts institutions I have seen.
My son loves it here.
Waste of money, not worth itupdate: still not
