I wish I could give them 0 stars. I purchased my 2015 Ford Focus from them back in April of 2017 and ever since I left the lot this car has been a nightmare. A nightmare that they knew about. The 2015 Ford Focus that I purchased had some transmission issues that I was never made aware of. I found in the service history of the car that a few things had been done to the transmission and that this was an on going problem, in fact they had worked on the transmission. Without this knowledge, until it was far to late to do anything, I purchased the car. I have had so many issues with this car and its cost me so much to fix it. If they had made me aware of the issues prior to I would have certainly looked at a different vehicle. I hate the car, I hate capitol auto for their inability to inform customers, and now I have 2 more years before I can get ride of the car because its not even worth a quarter of what Im paying for it because of these issues. Oh and the anniversary email at the 3 year mark is what really set me off.... No I will not tell friends and family about this place in a positive light.

My experience with Capital Auto was a great, the customer service was great and everyone was friendly, my salesperson Teresa was very delightful and pleasant and very professional and to top it all off Scott worked his magic to get me the best deal possible,overall experience was great would definitely return.

I bought a 2011 GMC Terrain with 132k miles for about $8300. The day I drive it off the lot the check engine light came on that night. I called the next morning they said bring it back and we’ll take a look at it, so I did. They said it was an engine misfire and switched the coil packs around to see what cylinder it was but, the code was for a catalytic converter... they said to drive it and bring it back if the cel comes on again which it did two days later. I took it back and they called me to come pick it up 2 days later and said everything was fixed. I asked what had been done and the woman on the phone said she didn’t know but everything was good to go. So that didn’t sound promising. About 3 days later the cel light was back on. I called to see what they would do for me because I knew I was getting the run around at this point. Spoke to Scott the service guy assuming. He said he would get me some fuel system cleaner and that might fix it, which I knew it wouldn’t. Never got the call to pick up a can of fuel system cleaner. Went back to pick up my tags and the woman who got them for asked how everything was going so I told her not good and that I would actively tell people not to make a purchase here. So here we are. She also said that wasn’t normal and that she’d let Scott know and they’d follow up with me. They never made contact with me again that was over a month ago. Don’t buy here learn from my mistake.

I recently referred my wife to purchase a vehicle here for credit building purposes since her old vehicle started breaking down. They sold her a vehicle claiming it was a good vehicle for her to build her credit, and the transmission started going out before she even made it home with the car from the car lot! We took it back to them, and they kept it for a week and put a used transmission in the vehicle and called us to pick it up. When we got it back the alignment was way off there was loud scrubbing,grinding, and bumping on the way home. So I had to take it to a tire shop to get it checked and all 4 rotors and brakes were gone, rusted and falling apart. They only would replace the back brakes and rotors. I had to pay for the front brakes and rotors myself to get replaced. This car should have never passed inspection. We already made the payment on the car and can’t even drive it. After we got the brakes fixed the check engine light pops on and the wiper blade falls off!!! I can’t stress enough how disappointed we are to be dealing with this, after trading her old old vehicle in for a reliable vehicle and they sold us a LEMON that has to be payed for. Do not recommend this dealership!!!

I went into Capital Auto unsure if I was goin to leave with a car or not due to my credit score not being so good. I test drove a 2017 Toyota Camry and loved it. I had my mind set on it, but after sitting there for a minute I got to thinking I just might be over doing it just a little with my credit. So after being there for hours, I was about to say forget it due to the banks turning me down. But then I was helped by Scott & Tyler who both are absolutely amazing. Scott was awesome over the phone. Told us a Yukon Denali XL was in great condition, driven by an elderly gentleman. Gave us an incredible price knowing we had a 2 HOUR drive up there. Got there & found 3 spots of bad rust, roof was terribly faded, looked like acid was spilled on the back cargo area, check suspension & check airbag lights were on dash. Could have told us all this before a waste of gas & time! No sale. Very disappointed to say the least...

Recently purchased a vehicle from there. Truck was nice but that’s it!! Literally purchased it not even a month ago & have had to spend thousands of dollars getting it fixed. They told me to bring it in to get it fixed, but it should of already been fixed before selling it! Very disappointed & very upset! I would definitely like to be refunded for everything I’ve paid for to get fixed. Don’t get me wrong, the staff was great though! I just wish they inspect their vehicles more before putting them on the lot

It was my lucky day when a friend referred me to Alex Theis, the owner of Capitol Auto. I needed to trade in a leased car that desperately needed good detailing for me to avoid getting charged for a poorly maintained car. I was embarrassed to bring it in but I needed help and I was instantly reassured that my car was by no means the worse they had seen. I was stunned when I picked up my car. It looked so good I wanted to keep it!! Just in that small encounter with that minor project I could see the incredible quality of Capitol Auto- not just the workmanship but the pride they take in their work. It was clear they really cared about me and I was by no means a big ticket item for them that day. Everyone with whom I interacted was wonderful-friendly, helpful, respectful, kind and professional. I have a 2001 Honda that needs a good check up and likely a fair amount of work. It turns out that they service cars, in particular foreign cars. Guess where I am going to go? I know they will treat me fairly and will do a great job. I had no idea they also are a car dealership! It just keeps getting better because I really need to buy a real car since the 2001 Honda with 201,000 miles is supposed to be my back up car. Guess where I am going to go for the purchase of my car? I am a Doctor, I am not someone who is fooled by people who pretend to be kind and caring but arent. From the moment I walked into the store to get my car detailed, I knew there was something special about this place and more importantly the people. They care about their work and they care about you. I cant recommend them highly enough. It is hard to find good hard working honest people especially in the car industry. They are the real deal.
