Matt & his team have gone the extra mile for us on my ‘07 Acura RDX. In the last few months, it has needed brakes, a blend door actuator, starter, alternator & drive belt tensioner. These guys are incredible. The BMW dealership couldn’t figure out the problem, but wanted an arm and a leg. Brought it here, they got it all taken care of. They have extensive knowledge of electric vehicles. Mine was a BMW i3.

I have been going here for several years and the level of service has always been consistent. They dont give a bunch of double talk when explaining what needs to be done and what should be done. They are fair and honest and stand behind their work 100%.

Went in for a pre purchase inspection and was very pleased for the price. You can pay more for a report with pictures but this was all I wanted. They explained the codes that were read from the computer that helped me determine if it was worth it to buy. Would definitely go back for services or repairs if they weren’t so far from where I live!

After bringing my 3-year-old vehicle to a local dealership for some service, the A/C stopped working. When I brought it back to them, they were unable to provide a clear explanation of what was wrong but the recommended service would cost $2k. I decided to get a second opinion and Im so glad I did!I contacted Matts Auto Shop ahead of time about the situation, and Matts response was quick, courteous, and professional. I brought in my vehicle at his recommended time and despite how busy it was, I didnt have to wait too long while they diagnosed my vehicle.They were able to provide a clear and honest explanation of what they found, welcomed me back if I were to have further trouble, and most importantly treated me with respect. I cant tell you how many times other places have talk down to me or were unable to explain what was going on. Ive even been dismissed or forgotten when I tried to give them my business! I purchased my 2009 BMW 335i in July of 2019 and by August of 2019, it was broken. Since then Ive shopped around to a number of local shops to try to get it fixed. Ive gotten everything from insane quotes to people down right refusing to work on the car. In about 2 business days, for a fraction of the price that I thought Id have to shell out, they had my problem child running like a champ. Highly recommend this place, I will definitely be bringing my BMW back here next time it breaks.

This was my first visit to Matt’s Auto Shop. This place was beyond Fantastic. Quality, honest work, professionally done, at a great and fair price. From the the shop foreman to the mechanics, everything was a first class, well orchestrated operation. I took them a 300,000 mile nightmare and they turned it into a dream.The mechanic even came out and talked to me personally and the shop foreman kept me notified the entire process. First time customer and I had a great experience at Matts Auto Shop. Timing belt and water pump replaced in one day and at a fair price with a warranty on their work. Nick gave good communication and made the process super smooth.

I manage a local used car lot and we have tried several local shops for our used car inspections and repairs. Matts Auto has by far been the best! They are honest, reliable and very good at what they do! We use to have vehicles come back for repairs with the other shops around but I can honestly say that since switching to Matts Auto we have not had a single vehicle come back. They diagnose and fix the problem right the first time! That is very important to me because my company has 40 years worth of a good solid reputation and nothing would ruin that faster than selling cars that customers have to bring back because someone took a short cut. If you live anywhere close to Garner you would be crazy to not use these guys!

Matt and his team are quite simply, amazing. I sent them my 1967 Mustang, which had been sitting in a garage for 20 years, neglected. They went over every aspect of this car and brought it back to life mechanically for a very good price. They also did a disc brake conversion and installed an electronic ignition for me. They took the time to research the correct parts and procedures for this vintage automobile and took excellent care of the vehicle while they had it in their shop. Prior to sending the car here, in years past I had never let anyone but myself work on this car, so it was difficult for me to trust anyone. I totally made the right decision in choosing Matt and crew to do the work. These guys are real car tech nerds and know their stuff. They run a clean, modern and HONEST repair business. I live over two hours from these guys, but when more work is needed, the Mustang will go back to Matt.

My daughter has a 2016 honda civic with the new refrigerant system that requires different equipment, and a certified technician and Nick Riggsbee is that guy! Nick was honest, and professional as he handled the car issues. He did a great job listening and explaining what needed to be done and delivered the car completed earlier than expected. My daughter was able to leave go get back to Charlotte for work. I am so high on Nick because the Honda Dealership diagnosed unnecessary and costly work that wasnt really needed. Let me just say, as a 23 year old woman who generally doesnt know much about cars, having to go to the mechanic is TERRIFYING, because I never know whether someones going to pull the wool over my eyes. I first came in to get my front brakes and rotor replaced and they had the best deal out of over 10 shops I called. The experience in person was quick and painless, and they even have complimentary refreshments while you wait. You can bet that when my car started having cooling system troubles a few weeks later, they were the first people I turned to! They made it a priority to order and get the parts I needed on my car the same day (and I drive a smartcar which most people wont even touch!) Matts Auto Shop pointed out all the problems and suggested the work that needed to be done. The work was done in a timely manner and I can really tell the difference. Glad I had them check before the next road trip!AC started blowing hot air. Switching to extreme hot then extreme cold would fix it for a while. YouTube videos suggested a valve switch needed greasing. Glad I took it in. The actuator control was bad and needed replacing.2007 Monte CarloI really appreciated the suggestion of checking the integrity of the head gaskets before proceeding with sinking more money into the car. Gave me a lot of peace of mind knowing it wasnt all for nothing.

Its been well over 24hours since Nick and the guys at Matts have fixed my car and shes running great still. They did a great job and were very wallet friendly while still doing top notch work. They informed me of some other wear and tear to keep an eye on but I not once felt pressure that I needed to buy something other than what I went in for. Its a friendly place with nice hard working people. I am definitely taking my ride back if she ever needs a tune up.

I have my new mechanic!! I had 3 mechanics work on my brakes and still the brakes were terrible. the other mechanics told me well there is nothing we can do because of the year of my van. Outstanding service! I went to Matts Auto Shop for a pre-sale inspection on a used car I was looking to buy. They carefully inspected the car, found an issue, and cautioned against buying it. Generously, they offered to let me bring in a different car in for a pre-sale inspection, no extra charge. Long story short, I ended up having to bring in four used cars before we found one that passed pre-sale inspection and they never charged me an extra dime beyond the first visit. They really helped me to avoid buying a lemon. Further, Nick was patient, glad to answer my questions, and he remembered me every time I came into the office. I would use them again in a heartbeat, and plan to for my other vehicle service needs. Highly recommended!

Matts Auto Shop has done an excellent job on my cars. I had Matt find a coolant leak which turned out to be a head gasket. I had been trying to diagnose this for some time. A 94 Mazda Miata, Matt did the head gasket and I asked him to replace all the rubber he touched while he was doing it. Not only did he do all that, the car is running great and he didnt gouge me for all the rubber parts/hoses he replaced. Fantastic shop and a great group of guys. Im done working on cars haha!
