After almost getting railed by the Ford Service center, I brought our vehicle to AVEC and they were awesome. Incredibly fast diagnosis, even faster repairs and I was back in my car just after lunch. They have all my future business.

This has been my worst repair experience to date. I paid a diagnostic fee for my broken AC and asked to talk to the mechanic so I could make an informed decision on the $1000 repair quote, but the guy at the front desk was rude and wouldnt let me. He said the technician was too busy to talk to customers. Not sure if this is a directive from the owners, but he also told me that he wasnt going to schedule a repair since they have a healthy business already and didnt even offer my money back. I would avoid this place. Definitely a shop to stay away from.

My car couldnt pass inspection because of a broken taillight. The local Kia dealership quoted me $400 to replace it. Avec Service Center did it for a fraction of the cost. Ill definitely be returning in the future for all my maintenance needs.

Avec is a hidden gem of north Raleigh. We bring our cars to them exclusively. They always do a great job, are honest and have a great turn around. As an added bonus the automotive parts sculptures are worthy of an installation at the NC Museum of Art - always fun.

Weve been using Avec for 4 or 5 years now. They do a great (and CHEAP) prepurchase inspection and have kept me from buying 2 cars they didnt like the look of. They have also done a/c and other work on our van. Johnny and Cole always do a great job helping me understand what needs to be done and how urgently. Theyve even told me if a job is easy enough that I can probably handle it myself! What mechanic does that? One that wants me to keep coming back...which I will!

On a recommendation, I went to Avec for my cars routine maintenance. Just an oil change and tire rotation; but I was pleased with the staff, timely turnaround, and the spacious waiting room. Good start. Thanks!PS - the car part sculptures are really neat too.

They do excellent work and have wonderful consumer service. They all go above and beyond. Cole really took the time to explain the scope of work needed on one of our old vehicles we were trying to save. We had taken this vehicle to a different mechanic shop initially and we ended up spending a bunch of money having them rebuild the transmission after theyd given us false hope that our vehicle could last much longer after the trans was fixed. However, a few problems immediately arose afterwards and once bringing it to Avec, they found some serious problems the other mechanics should have seen. They really saved us from spending a bunch of money on a problem that was most likely just the beginning of a series with monster price tags.It can sometimes be hard to find a mechanic you can trust, but these guys have my genuine confidence and Ill always come to them, 100%.

Read favorable NextDoor reviews so I chose this place to get my car inspection completed prior to annual registration. One thing you should know is that it is best to call and schedule an appointment first. When I returned for my appointment they were friendly and extremely helpful. Answering all my questions without any hesitation. When I am ready for a tune up I will return and I hope to establish a long term relationship with these guys.They have some really cool metal welding sculptures on site and I love the checkerboard floors!

There’s a reason Avec is rated so highly. My truck broke down on my way back to Asheville on Sunday (they’re closed on Sundays). Avec diagnosed my transmission problem by Monday afternoon. Come to find out they were down a mechanic that day as well. What a solid group of people to help out someone in need. I’d gladly give them my business.

Avec is my favorite car mechanic shop. Ive used them for several repairs, from timing belt replacement to rattles and noises. In all my interactions with them, they have been very honest and helpful, and I trust them to tell me when they are not the best option for getting something repaired. This mechanic shop is top notch--not only can they fix your issues at an extremely agreeable rate, they accept customer-provided parts. Note, If you bring your own parts, you accept all liability. I failed my yearly inspection due to two bad O2 sensors. I purchased the parts myself and attempted to perform the repair, but the sensor was fused to the piping so I took the car to Avec. Avec performed the repair in under 24 hours! They readily explain repair processes and are open to questions. I highly recommend this shop.

AVEC Service Center is hands down the best place to take your vehicle to. I’ve been struggling with a bad shake in my dodge for a long time and I’ve taken it to multiple shops. They were able to correctly diagnose the issue the FIRST time and get my truck going the same day. I will only be taking my vehicle here from now on. They have great customer service and are reasonably priced. GREAT PLACE!!!

I have taken my vehicle to these guys a few times for different simple car things and they were always friendly and easy to work with. This time I knew something was wrong with my van, but didn’t know what. These guys figured it out, gave me a quote (with a couple of different options.) They fixed the van AND were able to come in under the quote, I know this isn’t always possible, but it sure was nice! I got new tires, struts and an alignment. They had to order the struts and the company they ordered them from did not send the whole order so it got delayed, but they stayed in contact with me the whole time. They apologized for something they had no control over. They made sure my van was really fixed before they called me to pick it up! Now it drives nice and smooth. These guys are good and honest mechanics! I recommend them to anyone that needs a mechanic!!

This is the only place I take my vehicles for service. Always fantastic service and price. Recently, they told me I had to order a $400 part for my AC. When the part came in, I dropped off my car. They worked on it for a day, then called me and said they didnt need the part after all. Refunded me the entire $400, fixed my AC, and didnt even charge me any labor. Ill never go anywhere else.

As a first time customer of Avec ... I couldnt be happier with quality of service and professionalism of Andy and his staff. They inspected and replaced squealing engine belts on my 1979 Bronco XLT. They are extremely efficient, I arrived at 8:30 am and picked it up at 3:45 pm the same day. I highly recommend this auto service shop to anyone... simply put, these folks are the best!

This is my second service with this company. On my first visit, the employees were very professional, answered all of my questions and their work was completed in a very reasonable amount of time. Two things that I noticed off the bat were they did not try to sell me on fixing something that didnt need to be fixed and their prices were reasonable and even a bit less expensive than I had expected. I immediately contacted Avec again when I had a different concern with my car, years later. They fit me in same day and had me in and out in less than 1.5 hours. Again, they did not try to up-sell me and again, the price was very fair.They are currently offering to pick you up or drop you off to your home or work place complimentary as well as pick up and drop off your car if you have concerns leaving your house regarding this virus.This is a good, honest company that I will be using again the next time it is needed.

This is the kind of mechanic you wish to fine. Everyone working there provided great service and seemed to be full of integrity. It seems like they actually give the best solution to whatever problem you are facing with your car rather than trying to talk you into replacing parts that dont need to be. I will be going back.

Honest and helpful - took a look at what I thought would be a huge engine issue and found it was a simple fix with an improperly installed oil filter. Great to find honesty and they went the extra mile to ensure they cared for everything, despite a low-cost estimate for repairs. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Can I rate higher than 5 stars? I had the best experience at this shop. They communicated everything to me and were very forward. I was quite nervous as I didn’t know what was wrong with my car, but they explained everything clearly. I’ll be using AVEC again.

We chose to take our car here because of all the great reviews, but what we experienced was poor customer service and inexperienced mechanics. We took our car in to have a specific part fixed. My husband told them exactly what was wrong (because the dealer told us and my husband did more research after that). The mechanic at Avec insisted the issue was not as extensive and that just fixing the seal on this part will solve the issue. This didnt make my husband feel confident from the start, but he figured they probably know more than he does. We spent almost $3000 on repairs. To be fair, this included other services which we figured we might as well get done since the car was in the shop. On the drive home from picking up the car, the scraping noise from the broken part was still there. After dropping almost $3k, this is not what you want to hear on the ride home from the mechanic. We brought the car back but they insisted they could not hear the noise. A week later and the noise is super loud and occurs every time we drive. He called them again to say the noise is very loud, as bad as it was when we first brought the car in, and that the seal obviously did not repair the issue. In fact, the seal that we paid them to repair is probably broken again which is why the noise is super loud again. The mechanic just mumbled on the phone and basically said oh well, we tried and I dont know what else to do. So we are at the starting point again with needing our car fixed and down almost $3000. Maybe theyre a good shop for basic things, but if you have any real issues with your car I would not recommend wasting your time and money. They are clueless and obviously dont back up their work.

Loved this place! I was worried that I needed major work after I just bought a new car. They took a look and made it a quick and easy experience for me! Johnny was super friendly and helpful, and I will definitely be bringing my other vehicles to them in the future!

AVEC has done a lot of little things for us and they are very reasonable. In addition, they just did some major work on our Lexus and they were fast, neat, reasonably priced and really nice to deal with. You get straight answers to your questions and all the information you need, because they are very knowledgeable and open with their responses. They are the best service center weve dealt with in our 13+ years in Raleigh.

They were always very nice to me and professional while dealing with my car; it was like they were fixing their own car, rather than the those big corporate auto shops that look over your car for 15 minutes and hand you a $2,000 bill and ask you to go in debt with their own personalized credit card. Definitely found my mechanic for life!

I called Avec early on a Friday to get an appointment and left a message as it was before they had someone at the desk. I received a call back within minutes and they told me not to drive my car in. They already knew what was wrong and I would have caused more damage. They also told me they wouldn’t be able to get to my car that day, but I was ok with that due to my great history with their work. They ended up calling me around lunch time and we’re in the middle of the fix, and has my car done by 3:00 the same day. I expected it to take a couple of days and their costs are much lower than had I taken it anywhere else. I love Avec!

Andy gives great honest advice. A friend recommend him, telling me he took his car in to do extensive work, and Andy told him it all wasnt needed. They give great service, reasonably priced and very honest. I will not use anyone else. I appreciate their whole staff.

Andy and his crew are the best. My old truck wags its tail when we enter the parking lot since she knows she is visiting the doctor! Work is always excellent, honest, timely, they have everything. Even though it is a ways out, there is an Enterprise car rental right by them that picks up and takes you back. Trust is a key in this kind of service and you can trust Andy and his crew.And just to update this review--my 99 truck is still running well thanks to the team at AVEC! Ive been taking two older (10+ yrs) cars two them for over 5 years and I have always had great service with them. They are good at explaining what the problem is and never trying to up sell or add on unnecessary repairs, instead they clearly point out what might need work, what I should keep an eye on, and what the upcoming maintenance should be expected for the future.

I’ve started coming to AVEC when I was doing my research for an engine replacement. Their quality of work is impressive. That combined with outstanding customer service, friendly attitudes, and them going the extra mile has made me a customer for life.They replaced a part on my vehicle that required a test drive and some damage was done to my wheel while the mechanic was not in the vehicle. It was unnoticed until I brought my vehicle home. I called them to inform them of the damage and that I was pretty sure it was fresh. I brought it back to them to take a look and they stated that it is clearly fresh damage and they will replace the rim, no questions asked.Integrity is a trait not many have these days and I applaud you. Avec is absolutely the best. Their service and prices cant be beat....I take my cars in here for everything from inspections to oi changes and everything else that comes up. Recently I was in need of a urgent visit due to what turned out to be a dying battery. I needed my car back up and running asap and Avec was kind enough to squeeze me into their already slammed schedule to get the repair work done the next day. If you are looking for a reliable local mechanic who does amazing work and doesnt charge the usury rates of a dealership this is the spot.

Always good and trustworthy service here. My only complaint is that they are popular, and therefore busy. Sometimes it takes days to get your vehicle back. But what price quality, yes? Im willing to wait.

Almost 20 years ago I drove my car into Andys service station at the time because my engine light was on. I had recently had the car serviced at the dealership. Andy told me it was safe to drive and that I shouldnt be paying more money for a job poorly done. I knew then that he had integrity that I could trust. There is nothing more satisfying than finding a competent and honest mechanic. Andy and his staff are courteous, knowledgeable, and honest. They have never recommended service or repairs that appeared questionable, and have always fixed things correctly the first time. Ive lived in Raleigh for over 20 years and tried many different Service Centers. Avec are, by far, the best. Very friendly, inexpensive and honest. They never recommend that unnecessary work should be done. I continue to recommend Avec to everyone.

Always friendly and willing to help. My transmission crapped out on me one afternoon and they not only opened up a lift for me on short notice but fixed the issue and had me on my way same day! Cannot recommend this shop enough.Edit: Again, was left stranded after my CAM sensor failed. Had it towed to AVEC that night and they had me fixed up and on the road the next day. This is one of the best mechanic shops in Raleigh. They will always have my business.

HONEST and CARING! Story...Im driving my POS 2005 Pilot, started getting a bad noise and slight burning smell. Went here as it was closest. Fully booked.. will try to fit in today to take a look. About 15 min. later, the guy at the counter (forgot his name) says he has a few minutes, asks to take for quick test drive. 15 min. later says it was a bent drive shaft loop. They straightened it out, no charge! (this all happened while I was looking for a rental).WOW! Christmas in July for me. I drive POS cars my whole life (call them my Buffet cars) so I can retire when I get old(er). Thank you AVEC! Youve got a new long term customer!
