The Parking situation at The Q is horrendous and winter is upon us likely making a terrible situation somehow worse. The staff in the leasing office couldn’t care less including the manager of the property. There are not enough outdoor surface spots or garage spaces to accommodate all residents. Returning from work even in the early afternoon makes it impossible to find a spot. Everyday there are 30+ cars parked on the main road between the apartment and the golf course. Not to mention the residents who park right on the corner of the entrance making it impossible for one car to enter the property while another car exits. Additionally residents park in front of the fire hydrants and The Q does NOTHING about any of it! They only make the situation worse by allowing up to 10 visitor spaces, where there are often commercial vehicles parked! In addition, The Q parks their equipment in outdoor spaces and parks their golf carts in handicap spaces and striped spaces meant for wheelchairs, walkers, etc. Parking fails to be the only issue and towing certainly doesn’t help. I’ve also yet to see a tow truck here and the only car I’ve heard of that has been towed belonged to a resident!
I’ve wanted to give this place 5 stars. Everything about it makes it such an incredible place to be for young professionals - amenities are perfect for hosting, roof deck is amazing, rooms are brand new and gorgeous, and it’s honestly really reasonably priced given what you get.All of those nice things above fall right by the wayside because of parking. I’m sure you’ve read other people’s complaints. It is, by far, the most horrendous and pitiful thing I think I’ve ever seen. The second building doesn’t even have enough spots if there was only allowed one car per unit. Coming home early from work even at 4, there’s usually only one spot left because people all are remote. When your own residents have to park up the hill in the entrance circle and down the road to Granite Links, you know there’s an issue. The fact that management hasn’t done ANYTHING to address the issue is beyond me as well.Towing company getting rid of visitor cars too isn’t helping, there’s simply not enough space and the only solution is for them to come back to reality and expand parking lots. I also second an earlier comment made - I cannot imagine what parking will be like when it snows. As we were told, there’s no guarantee we can park on the public road entrance to The Q when there’s plows. Guess we’ll see - hope management speaks on behalf of all residents and fights to somehow get more parking.EDIT TO RESPONSE - parking in the building one garage is not helpful at all to anyone living in building 2. That solution actually makes 0 sense. Been here since the fall and now that every unit is full, no parking whatsoever.UPDATE - all comments pointing to the fact that earlier towing hours are helping alleviate congestion is false. Building 2 still have absolutely no parking past 5 because it’s all resident stickers and just not enough spots!UPDATE 9/22 - 10pm on a weeknight and we parked about 1/4 mile down the road from the complex because there’s no parking. Office believes getting rid of guest parking will solve the issue - not even close.I will gladly change this to a 5 star review when parking gets addressed!
This place doesn’t deserve the word “luxury”.Called the leasing office about the parking situation, said they have exhausted all options as the city won’t let them build more parking spots AND they are still talking to the city about letting residents park on the street during the winter. Also…. they are out of garage parking. Someone from the office said they’ll reach out to me about waitlist garage parking, I havent received a call at all and this was 4 days ago.To add to all of this my stove hasn’t been working for almost a week now. Maintenance came to fix it but went right back to not working the next day. The maintenance guy is very nice but I shouldn’t be having stove problems in a “luxury” brand new building. They said they might have to replace my whole stove/oven in a week. As someone who doesn’t eat out, this is a huge inconvenience to me.Everything about this place is wrong. These people built a building for the purpose of making money with no care what so ever about the people that were going to be living there.
Highly advise not signing a lease here. There is not enough parking for residents and you can forget having guests, there is no where for them to park either and if they come for dinner, they’ll get their car towed! It’s advertised as pet friendly, but there are no spaces to take your dog other than the small areas in the parking lot, which are frequently sprayed with pesticides that are harmful to pets and kids. Although the apartment looks nice when you move in, you’ll quickly find how cheaply it was made. When you open cabinets, the doors hit the light switches and turn your lights off and there are no lights in the bedrooms. You can expect management to be essentially useless and for them to enter your apartment without permission on numerous occasions. Not to mention, there are weddings and parties at the golf course every single night of the week with music blasting until late at night, which echoes in the buildings.UPDATE - To the managements response - the last time you sent maintenance to my unit, you believed you had an open invitation to enter my apartment when it was convenient to you, which is alarming and terrifying to come home to. Your maintenance is not great, rather they are messy and careless. A service request would require you to move the light switch to another area on the wall. Having a dog wash station (which is incredibly loud and a traumatizing experience for my dog) does not make the building dog friendly. The dog walking trails are also not located on the property.
I hate coming home, waiting for my lease to end. After a long day at work, I have to drive around to look for a parking space.People move away from the city to get away from parking nightmare, that is not the case here. Your chances of finding a parking spot on boylston street is much greater than here.Management sent out an email last week for us to vote one keeping visitors space or taking it away. Mind you, visitor parking takes up 10 spot…10. If they REALLY think 10 spots will make a difference then I don’t know what else to say. Are we not allowed to have visitors after 7pm?There are people with garage parking still parking on the surface and management does nothing about it, but sends out email about people with no garage parking to not park in the garage. I’ve brought this to management attention, still nothing. Keep it fair.
Everything is fine except parking. The spots are very limited even the paid garage parking are all taken. I have difficulty finding a parking spot every single day. Id say its a disaster. Coming back home from work doesnt make me relaxed but anxious.Even though they said they are working on towing visitorss cars, it doesnt help at all, only makes you more awkward if your visitors car was towed. They just want to rent more units to make money, not even think about if there are enough parking spots. I am very disappointed at this apartment. I cant wait to move out even Ive only moved in for 2 months. Definitely not recommend to others to move in.
I live in an 800 square foot apartment and the utilities are extremely high. We paid over $400 for one month for electric and gas. We don’t run the AC during the day, run the dishwasher every other day, and are very good about shutting the lights off. Half of the plugs in our unit dont even work despite maintenance coming to fix it. The people above us are also incredibly loud. Amenities are nice.
The parking is horrendous and completely unacceptable. Extremely worried about this winter.Ive started a community page on reddit run by residents (not associated with management). I envision this page to be a way for residents to get to know each other and plan cookouts or meets ups. It can also be a place that is utilized for residents to communicate our concerns amongst the community here at The Q.r/TheQmmunity
So I have lived in The Q for a few months now and I can say that living here has been a great experience. Ive been apartment hunting for quite some time for a WFH friendly living space for my roommate and I. I must have visited 20+ locations and compared to whats in the area (15 mile radius) there was no other place like the Q. Melanie went above and beyond to make the move in process seemless.Great Amenities (excluding a pool and large gym) but the rooftop view and courtyard definitely make up for it. Great view of Boston and the rooftop view on July fourth is ONE OF A KIND. Aside from that, the staff have been phenomenal at addressing any issues we had.Overall this is a great place to live if you are a remote worker, like to golf, love beautiful views, and large bedrooms.
I would honestly give this complex a 5 if it wasn’t for the parking.Any units on floor 1 or 2 of either building do not have an assigned garage parking spot. When we toured the apartments - we were told “there is plenty of outdoor parking” for the people living on the first two floors.Fast forward 2 months - my girlfriend and I had to walk almost half a mile from the street with limited lighting to our apartment - because there is only about 50 percent of the parking needed for those two units.Eventually we complained about the parking situation to the management office and their only feedback was to pay 95 dollars a month to park in NOT EVEN OUR BUILDING. After discussing it further we decided it was the safest option for my girlfriend to pay and park in the assigned garage spot while I continue to play “musical parking spots” every day.The complex is nice, the people are nice and the amenities are nice - but none of that matters when I walk alone in the dark up a street to an apartment I spend almost 3 grand a month to live in.Fix the parking and I’ll be happy to make this a 5 star review - but I shouldn’t have to pay more a month when i was sold an apartment with “plenty of parking.” At this point I am just waiting on my least to run out - and am terrified of when the winter comes.
DONT MOVE IN!!!! Parking here is horrible!! Before I signed the lease, the leasing office told me there are sufficient parking spots, it turned out a lie!! You have to drive all way down the hill to park and walk back home, I cant imagine how it would be when winter comes. As a resident, my car was towed without any warning!!! This the worst apartment Ive ever lived.Gym is very small, the facilities and equipment are limited.
Parking is terrible there are more units then spots, management doesn’t care they say come by to discuss this further and it’s always the same response NOTHING. They also believe they have the right to just walk into your apartment with out knocking.
Parking is a nightmare. As a resident I shouldn’t have to drive around the whole complex to find parking, or park all the way by the other building just because visitors take all the parking spaces. Complex is like a dog park, everyone has at least 2 dogs here. Don’t mind the dogs but elevators smells like wet dog all the time. For a building this new, the units have no video security entry system, you have to let someone in through your phone and that doesn’t work all the time. So you have to come all the way down to let people in. Landscaping and leasing office staff are good and units are cozy.
You”ll never find a parking spot if you move in. This is how we residents park on the street, which is dark, spooky and far away from the building, I don’t feel safe walking down to my home every night. If you own a car, stay away from this apartment. It literally makes me upset every single day. The leasing office is doing nothing to resolve this. I don’t see any improvement even though they are towing visitors’s car from 7.The most ridiculous thing is that they let me pay a garage parking in the other building. I am so speechless about this solution. Can’t wait to move out next year when lease ends.
Parking in building 2 is definitely painful. Barely can find a space. You will have to walk a long distance. Cant imagine the winter.
Parking is horrendous. Lovely units but rent is way too high to have to worry about parking. There is more units than spaces available. No public transport here so must have a car. Convenient to be near highway but you are some miles away from Boston exits. Gym is small, amenities are ok. Can’t imagine the parking situation in the winter. If you have a car or friends with cars, stay AWAY. Also the building blames vistors (non-residents) for occupying spaces (sending tow). VISTORS ARE NOT AT FAULT FOR BUILDING INCOMPETENCY. When I have to park far and get close to my building, all I see is parking permits. The building sold more units than there are available paid and “free” (free is in quotes because rent is very high) parking spots. Complete mess of parking.
Great location, beautiful apartments and amazing views. Staff and maintenance are very friendly and professional. Snow barely hits the pavement before its plowed and maintenance issues are addressed in a timely matter. Big shout out to Melanie who went out of her way to accommodate my last minute (well, really, more like last second!) decision to change apartments. It was a very busy day at the rental office, but she managed to work it out for me.
I can not say enough about the the staff here at The Q. I moved in about two months ago and they have been extremely accommodating in every aspect. Melonie, Craig and Patrick have gone above and beyond to make me and my Dogs move back into a complex as painless as possible. They greet you everyday with a smile and treat all the animals in the complex amazing. The common areas are always clean a tidy and even with all the covid restrictions they do their very best to let the residence use the enmities as much as possible. Even the maintenance division is great to interact with. I have had a few small issues which one would expect with a brand new building and they are taken care of immediately and follow up emails are always delivered promptly. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a well operating complex to look into joining us here at The Q, you wont regret it!
The parking space is horrible! Always I can’t find a parking lot! And be tolled several times!
All of the staff are extremely friendly. Had a great experience on the tour and moving in. Zero complaints. The buildings are brand new and the rooftop views are amazing. Would recommend anyone to live here.
I was excited to move to The Q as the building is in a beautiful area and the location is great. However, since moving in, it’s not worth the rent.Staff is rude and condescending. They send out rude emails regarding masks but they don’t apply those rules to themselves and are often in the leasing office without masks. All amenities are limited due to Covid, this is understandable in some cases but what is the harm of the roof deck being open? It’s been closed since I moved in and will be until summer. They also have an Amazon hub but it isn’t used and packages are left all over the mailroom. Several of mine have gone missing after being delivered. In addition there are two buildings on the property but only one small gym. I can’t imagine what that will be like when the property is full. The noise is outrageous. I hear every footstep from my neighbors above AND below me. Never have I lived somewhere that I can hear my neighbors walk or close doors behind them In the apartment below me. Not to mention most master bedrooms are right next to your neighbors living room or kitchen and you hear every sound they make.
Nice place, will be better once all the covid rules become more relaxed.
I’ve lived here since the beginning of November. During unsettling times it has been hard with restrictions but I am glad that the Q has been in the best interest of safety of their community. During the Christmas season we were supplied with wrapping supplies which no other apartment community has done for us. The spaces are clean and the staff has been nothing but friendly.
Poor parking service, really bad
