I have had most of the ladies in this shop work on me. They have all done a wonderful job, especially considering the fact that I have a tendency to catch my hair on fire. I have come in multiple times in need of some help and they deliver with a cute haircut, perfect brow wax, or a funky long perm for a girl who just had a cervical fusion. They are all very kind, gentle, professional, and caring. 10/10 would recommend.
If you have any issues with launching a live complaint to poppy Eco salon, be sure to make sure the context of your email is very clearly non threatening as they might misinterpret the desperation of a truly unsatisfied customer. Not only did Poppy Eco Salon have the nerve and gall to call the police on me because I stated that Pam, was on a vacation which seemed highly suspect. I started complaining to Pam about my haircut before my two weeks was up but she stated she was on vacation until Sept 17th, a day which fell outside there two week policy. What a way to cop out of having to return my money fo this horrible haircut, and having a desire to actually fix it. What a horrible business practice. What a horrible way to treat a paying customer who doesnt well over $130 dollars at your crummy salon. Funny thing about Pam being on vacation now that she received reviews when she should have been on vacation. I am the most peaceful person in the world and I do not ever or would ever cause harm to anyone. What a bull way to get out of returning my money and or having any responsibility for the horrible way you guys treated me. I am reporting Pam and Chelsea to the better business bureau as well the state boards. You guys are horrible people who left me feeling empty inside. Great salon and business within Chelsea and poppy Eco salon. You just made a while reflection of good people, into horrible people.
I got a haircut by Pam, who is very creative and did exactly what I wanted. I wanted an asymmetrical pixie and she delivered! Great work and really friendly. The interior of the salon is a bit rough but I think thats mainly because its an old building. I will return for my next cut! Good price too.
Super friendly, welcoming, and clean salon. Stylist understood exactly what I wanted. Love the color and cut! So many talented people that work there! Find the stylist that works for you! I only visit Nina when I can!
I visited Poppy Salon for the first time yesterday to get a partial highlight and had a great experience with Pam! She is the sweetest and so attentive to detail. She made sure to take her time and do an amazing job, it’s very clear how much she values her clients and making their vision come to life. Definitely will be coming back!
Chelsea is the best hair stylist I have had in ages. She always listens to what I want and takes the time to explain the process before she gets started. I have dry curly hair that is probe to breaking, but she does an amazing job cutting/coloring it every time. I would recommend her to anyone!!
Poppy is the highest quality salon on the Palouse. Their stylists and colorist are professional yet fun! Regardless of your hair need, there is someone there that can help you. Curly, straight, wavey, thick, thin or gray, this is the place you want to go. They are true artists and take pride in their work. They will give you an honest recommendation for your personal situation. Every person is welcome there. Highly recommend!
I love this place! I have been going for years and all the stylists are sweet, professional and great at hair! Definitely recommend to everyone!
Honestly, I had heard only really great things about this place. Sadly, I got the worst haircut I’ve ever had. I’d been hesitant to even get my haircut in pullman, so after being a student here for 3 years I finally decided I should and went to Poppy’s. I want to say it was just an off day for the person that cut my hair, but the result is pretty inexcusable. I can live with haircuts not being exactly what I asked for, but damn, this was sad. Even my mom said it looked bad.
Had one of the best haircuts ever with Renae. Men’s cut. Quick, did not miss a spot and enjoyable. I would highly recommend Renae. - Chanc Hiatt
This is a great place to get a haircut. In addition to the good service, there is a terrific atmosphere to the business.
Step son risked getting a cut in Pullman rather than wait until he came back to Seattle for our normal stylist. Should have waited. I had to be honest when he asked my opinion.
IF YOU HAVE CURLY HAIR GO TO NINA! My wavy hair felt heavy and lifeless and she brought it back to life! My waves are bouncy again! Ive never felt so great leaving a salon before. She has curly hair herself and knowledgeable about all the struggles curly haired people go thru. Super friendly and easy to talk to.
First off its really obvious that a lot of these new reviews about Pam are FAKE FAKE. You guys have a lot of really bad reviews and it is obvious why. You are having friends bomb your page with positive reviews to make new victims. I truely feel like a victim of poppy eco salon. Pam trashed my hair. I complained about my haircut and my husbands horrible haircut. You guys called the police on me for asking for it to be fixed. I never asked for a refund but you threw my money back at me because you didnt like how aggressive i was about my hair. Even the cop i talked to felt bad for having to call me. He looked at my pictures online and felt bad for me. You guys are an over priced fantastic sams. I would never treat a client so badly. You can tell the positive new reviews are fake, real people with happy haircuts would show it off with a picture. I would suggest gping anywhere other than this salon.
So I really have tried hard to not be negative about Poppy. When I moved to Pullman, I was thrilled to find Poppy, using the Davines salon-finder. I REALLY wanted an eco-friendly salon. And I had gotten spoiled on Davines products and incredibly-trained Davines reps. I couldnt believe my luck in moving to a small town with a Davines salon.Ive had my hair, my goddaughters hair and my daughters hair done here and... Its questionable, at best. One of the things that bothers me is that I honestly cant really tell how eco-friendly the salon actually is. I wanted to like the sort of eclectic use of old salon furniture rather than the latest and slickest looks but actually... Its not that comfortable or charming, once you get past the front desk. It also doesnt solve the biggest problems of environmental impact in a salon. If theyre a member of Green Circle Salons, I have yet to hear about it. And that brings me to another problem... I have never heard anyone in the salon actually discussing the environmental impact of their products or in any way talking up products. Yall could be moving a LOT more merch, and itd probably make an impact on this community. You have an unusually high number of well-educated and well-employed professionals, here. Your pool of clients to draw on is big. Tbh, Im not even convinced my last dye job WAS Davines product. I was handed a Redken hair book and when I said but it will be Davines product, right? my stylist said she had to go check they had the right colors in stock. 😱🤯I also have qualms about the quality and professionalism. Like others have said, I was rushed. And one of the times, my stylist was so harried that she put the wrong dye on the wrong parts of the hair. It ended up costing both of us 5 hours. She fixed it for free, obviously, and I think she ended up charging half in the end but... She still got the color wrong. We were trying to take my goddaughters hair back to original - which was a dark ashy blonde and instead we got... Auburn. All three of us, both girls and myself, have had at least one long piece that had to be chopped.I got spoiled, and I know it. My last salon served drinks (and I dont mean a can of soda), and generally ran specials where you could combine a 30-minute in-chair massage while waiting on hair to process. They had an in-house esthetician and again, frequently ran combo deals. Relaxation and conversation were the order of the day and clients talked to each other and stylists encouraged that. Salons have long been a place of social movement as well as beauty. And honestly, Id pay for that again. I already did so in a poorer city than Pullman, on a much less comfortable wage. I just see a lot of missed opportunities, at Poppy.
A huge thank you to Taylor Harrison for the review that told curly girls to seek Nina! Thats exactly what I did and I could not be happier. I havent seen my curls pop like this in years!! So very Happy! Thank you Nina! She also had great product recommendations and overall was a great experience!
This is a huge shout out for Nina!! As a curly girl, having a new person cut your hair is SCARY. She was a pleasure to chat with during my appointment and did a phenomenal job. She used the shape of my natural curls to cut my intended style. I’ve even gotten second day wear out of this haircut which is a rarity for me. I couldn’t be happier. Curly girls - get an appointment with Nina ASAP!
Have gone to Poppy since they opened and I always have a great experience.
I was really excited to try this place so I got my hair styled for graduation pictures. My curls fell out in just a couple of hours which was kind of impressive because when I usually get my hair styled, they last a lot longer. I really wanted to like this place but for my first visit, I wasn’t much of a fan. My stylist seemed really nice but it did seem really rushed when she was curling my hair so that could be why they didn’t last.
Horrible experience with stylist pam she cut my hair uneven was very rude unprofessional would not even talk to me about what she had done to my hair I was told that they make their own reviews to push down the negative feedback would not recommend
Friendly, innovative, talented team of caring professionals
Left a message over 3 weeks ago. I never received a return call or message. Its too bad they seemed like a nice salon.
My mom and I both go to Diana and love her! She is so sweet, professional, and takes great care of hair on both younger and older clients. She is always able to cover my moms stubborn grays, and fix damage from years of box dye and chlorinated water. We always leave feeling like QUEENS.
Nicolette Glover did my hair and makeup for my wedding on August 3rd as well as a few of my bridesmaids and she was amazing! Everything we asked for she was able to make happen and we all felt so beautiful! I would recommend her to anyone looking for services! She is easy to talk to, fun and makes the experience one to remember! Thank you Nicolette!
Buckle up, this is gonna be a long one. JUSTINA IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. One of my favorite stylists of all time for skills and for personality. She went above and beyond (twice) to help me fix the last few months of Colorista box-dye experimenting, which had left my hair stained pink at the top and green at the bottom. Id also resorted to shampooing with baking soda to try and get the color out, so there was even more damage. ANYWAY, she did her best to get the job done well and get it done right - even if it meant staying after closing and getting home late. Id never had a stylist do that for me, and it meant the world that Justina did. I wish all salons and all stylists were as great about that. And my hair looked super cute after both visits with Justina! Shes so talented and really cares about you feeling comfortable enough to go out in the world! I also really wish Id found Justina and Poppy Salon right when I got to Pullman! Theyre so good, and I think the prices are so comparatively reasonable to other salons, that I will seriously consider flying back to Pullman every time I need a haircut after I graduate. Okay. TLDR: Justina is a amazing and deserves every penny (and honestly way more). Go here.
I went to Poppy during my entire undergrad and it was always one of the highlights of my time in Pullman. The staff are all excellent and go above and beyond to take care of you. In my case, Heidi was my go-to gal for years and the relationship I was able to establish with her is one that I will remember for years. It’s not often you make a great friend at a hair salon, but here it’s as easy as could be. I wish I could give over a 5 star rating because I absolutely would.
Heidi always does an amazing job with my hair shes my favorite person to see. Love you girl!🥰
My wife loves this place She always comes back happy and satisfied from the services.
Diana did such a great job on all of my bridesmaids and ls hair and makeup, and such a pleasure to have on my wedding day 😊
Phenomenal experience. I was in serious need of beautification and Jenna Tank gave me a great haircut and style and waxed my brows to perfection. I am incredibly pleased with my experience.
Love, love, LOVE Poppy! I primarily work with Shanna and Heidi and love them both dearly. They are so warm and friendly and make me feel like part of the family. They also do beautiful work; I always leave there feeling rejuvenated.
After trying all the salons in town and not leaving totally satisfied, Im so glad to have found Shanna at Poppy! I called on a Tuesday looking for an appointment (expecting to have to wait several weeks) and they were able to get me in that Saturday. Most other salons in town have lousy weekend hours so for a Saturday appointment, youll wait 4-6 weeks to get in. All of the stylists working that day greeted me and were super friendly. Shanna gave me an awesome cut and style and she helped me find some products that would be right for my very fine hair. Poppy is absolutely my new go to salon in Pullman!
Heidi did my hair, and I have never had a single complaint! The entire shop is friendly, fun, and everyone has great hair. 😁 They specialize in fun, wild colors, so if youre looking for a change, see them! Their products are all natural, and eco-friendly.
I love the atmosphere and every time I have gone I am so satisfied with the service. Highly recommend to anyone in the area. It is worth booking a few weeks in advance.
I set up an appointment for my daughters hair for prom and Diana contacted her through my cell phone a few days before the appointment to get a few photos of what my daughter wanted. We asked if she could also do her makeup, and she was able to accommodate us. I texted her some photos ahead of time and was hoping for a better hair do for prom than what my daughter received. The makeup turned out nice, but her hair was barely curled. The curls fell out before we were even able to take photos. There was nothing special about my daughters hair, and I could have done it better myself. I expected a lot more for $100 and was shocked that both hair and makeup took less than an hour. Very overpriced and I was very disappointed at the outcome for my daughters first prom. We will not be back to Poppy for anything.
Hedi Armstrong dyed my hair teal and cut it. It turned out very stylish and cute! I have had Hedi cut my hair many different times.
I have been going to Heidi for the past year or so and am always satisfied with my hair. On top of that, shes super friendly and seems to remember whats happening in my life even if its months in between our visits. She must take notes or something, but whatever it is, it makes me feel pretty darn special.
In haircare, you get what you pay for. Pay $10? Youre gonna look like you got a $10 cut. Im a cheapo and its physically painful to spend money on hair, but I bit the bullet on a friends recommendation to try Whitney. I was BLOWN AWAY! Not only did she keep to the pricing shed quoted (my wallet thanks you Whitney!), but she worked with me, specifically identifying EXACTLY what I wanted. Communication is SOOO important and she made sure I knew what I wanted and communicated it CORRECTLY to her. I closed my eyes while she was drying because I was so anxious, but she styled it and turned me around and MY JAW DROPPED! If youre hesitant about coloring your hair, but have always wanted to give it a try, ASK FOR WHITNEY TODAY! Shes an epically fantastic conversationalist with deep and witty insights and youll leave her chair feeling important, relaxed, and most importantly, youll leave having the exact cut/style you want! SHES INCREDIBLE and absolutely adorbs ;) I would give her 20 stars if I could!!!!!!! As for the salon, the space is clean and well cared for and everyone I saw was very friendly and cheery. I will recommend to anyone I come in contact with! Also, they dont mark their products sky high. I couldnt get them cheaper anywhere else (and I looked). Very classy and customer friendly company!!!
Whitney does my hair and shes always amazing! I love the whole atmosphere of the shop and everyone who works there is always so friendly. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
We had moved to the area in April and was referred to here by a neighbor. I could not make 3 consecutive appts online because you can only do 2. I ended up going in and making them which we were still unable to get on the same day for myself, daughter and son. We had Diana and Jenna. The haircuts were fine even though they were on 3 different days. I called and left a message on a Tuesday to see if they could do an updo on the 25th of Oct. I said it was a saturday by mistake on the phone. I heard nothing back from them. I called and actually got to speak to someone on Thursday, stated when I left the message I had said the 25th was a Saturday instead of Friday. No problem, they would have the person, that does them contact me. Friday I get a text from Diana. Asking what my schedule was like for that day. I replied it was crazy. Could we do 3. She replied, she could not do 3 and suggested I go to another place. I texted back and asked what she had available. Almost a week later still no reply. I have now cancelled our appts that we had set for December. It seems like they really dont want to do business with my family.
At first, I loved it. I will not be able to go back. I wanted to finally try and get a decent haircut. So, I went last September. I cannot mention the name of my stylist. But she gave me a great haircut. Now I know this statement is relative to what a great haircut means to different people, but I have have been wearing my hair short for over 50 years in one style or the other. But Supercuts and the like are really precarious when it comes to consistency.Anyway, I was so pleased with the service, etc., that I came back just before Thanksgiving for a trim and style with the same stylist. I dont know where to start but I guess with while she was washing my hair, she got the water too hot at soaked the left sleeve of my shirt. Then, for some reason she started to use the electric clippers as her first tool and nipped me behind my left ear. Okay. She seemed to be very agitated. She took a short break and came back and started to cut my hair. It didnt need much but she seemed oblivious to that. Then she started to dry it and burned my head with the dryer. I had made little remarks of pain and noticed that a couple of the other stylist working at the time took notice. My hair was way too short. I went home and thought it over that I could never go back there because she would not understand why I would ask for someone else. But I finally called and wanted to talk to the manager or owner but I got her. She was very apologetic and gave me my money back. It seems that the stylist are independent contractors there. I never did get to really talk to the owner. I started out so promising but ended very badly. I wish that I had stopped her mid cut and asked her what was going on. I did ask if she was okay. Wet, clipped, burned. What can I say? They probably have a lot of fans. I noticed some nice work coming from the other stylists.
Best salon in Pullman. Fantastic service, great atmosphere (relaxing but not hoity toity), reasonable prices, and talented friendly stylists. Hours are convenient & you can choose a stylist based on their specialties. They know how to cut curly hair & give free bang trims/undercut refreshes between appointments. Whitney is my fave but Ive heard great things about the other stylists too.
Absolutly the best place to get your hair done. You will look like but more importantly feel like a million bucks!
Ive been going to Chelsea (owner of Poppy Salon) from the time she started - and she is fantastic. Ive never had a bad experience at Poppy and its been great to see it expand. Everyone is fun and upbeat and offer great services. Its unfortunate that some people appear to have had bad experiences, but I can say after 10 years of going to Chelsea, I havent had a bad experience yet!
🙂 So happy with my hair Do thanks Justina 💐
Chelsea was great! Definately have to book out in advance which stinks if you want something done soon but other than that I loved it! Friendly staff, keureg, and nail polish if you want to paint your nails while you wait!
Love Poppy! My hair color and cut are perfect. Just what I wanted!
Great place, I love that there is a waiting room providing drinks and nail polish - fab idea! And my hair looks amazing!
I have to give MAJOR PROPS to Nicollette. I came in with brown redish hair (after dying it with Splat back in Dec.) and I wanted to go blonde ombre bollyage.....well when we started lifting the Splat became a nightmare and would not budge! But Nicollette didnt give up, she not only spent hours on the first session but even came in on a day off to help try and get the Splat out. Ultimately, the Splat defeated our best efforts but she came up with a really AWESOME idea to help cover up the Splat and still have fun professional hair. I love my hair after being here and 100% recommend Nicollette. Also BEWARE OF SPLAT!!!!!
Great cuts and color, including wild colors that dont normally stick well!
Great stylists and quality products! Ive never been unhappy there.
I do love Poppy Salon! The ladies are very friendly and Whitney A is a wiz with her scissors!
Justina is an Enchantress of Color! I’d been to numerous salons around the Palouse looking to touch up my roots, every salon would get out their hair swatches to match my roots and no matter the similarity between my hair and the little hair-loop of color, my naturally light brown would turn black/super dark brown - Everytime. Justina understands colors and understands hair, instead of just painting over my hair with a ‘matching color’, she fixed a brassy tone no one could get out (it haunted me), corrected all the different root touch ups from before, lightened my hair and put in a beatuful brown glaze - I’m SO IN LOVE WITH MY HAIR NOW! Aside from being a hair Druid, she’s a super cool gal and I will be following her to the ends of Salon Earth (wherever you go, I will be there, haha). Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
I had my hair done back in April, and the only reason I am just now posting about it is because I finally got my hair cut again and realized just how bad it was...I scheduled a root touch up and a cut, I walked in and the lady I scheduled with seemed nice and seemed to listened to what I actually wanted, I have long thick hair and so I am very protective of it due to having bad experiences with previous hair stylists, anyway, she begins mixing the color which seems to be dark enough when she put it on, and she tidied up my layers, thinned it out a bit and framed my face. Here is my problem, when I got home my BOYFRIEND who is most the time oblivious noticed right off that the hair color did not match, not only that but he told me the layers looked choppy and unblended. I ignored him thinking it was just maybe the way it was styled but within the next 2 weeks I straightened it and it looked AWFUL. Color did not match, trim was terrible. I was honestly to scared to go back for her to “fix” it because I felt it would not get properly fixed.Fast forward to today, I go to get a haircut and my new hairstylist told me that it was at least an inch off from rt to left side and my face framing was completely off! What should have took a couple minutes to trim took 45 min in an attempt to fix my once beauitful long hair. Now looking back on that day it seemed the lady at Poppy salon was more interested in telling me her life story than doing my hair, I get wanting to connect with your clients but when I am paying you $100+ I would hope you would know how to at least multi task especially with all your “years” of experience that you continually boasted about for the whole 2 hour appointment. Definately not impressed, and will not be returning.
Amazing service, this place is chocked full uf talented women who do amazing work. They are nothing short of miracle workers
Whitney was very friendly. She listened to what I wanted and gave me a great haircut! I had been having trouble finding people who can do a pixie cut correctly, and Im so happy I found her.
Good service. Usually need to book 2 weeks ahead
Love Whitney and the salon! The girls are all friendly but Whitney is my go to for cutting my hair and always getting it right!
So sad to be leaving the area. Nicki is an artist and I have never left dissatisfied!
Unfortunately I have not had good experiences here. I first booked an eye brow appointment. It got cancelled on me the morning of and rescheduled later in the week. My eyebrows were done while sitting in a hair washing chair.I then decided to go and get my hair done. I did a base touch up and haircut and spent $100. The woman double booked me and didn’t even ask what I was going for with the color. She ran back, mixed the color and slathered it on. Sat me in the back to wait while she worked on someone else. I was in and out of there in an hour (the time line said it is a 2-2 1/2 hour appointment.) Felt very rushed and it was terribly done. Wish I could post pictures with how horrible my hair was blended. Actually was asked by people if I even got my hair done at all.
Great haircut, friendly stylists, a bit pricey and hard to book, but worth it.
Ask for Whitney for a great mens cut at a friendly and competent place!
Best place to get a men’s haircut in Pullman!
Hands down the best place to get a haircut!
I heard about this place from my mom, she told me about the great reviews, and when I tried to learn more about it, I got a rude text, I dont know if she was agitated, because she was busy, or just frustrated, but I was more than willing to go in, but I am not so sure after that....
Diana is fantastic !!
Favorite salon! Whitney is amazing!!
Fun
