The past month has been filled with lots of unfortunate circumstances but the light in all of this was Du Fresnes Auto Services customer service and quick repair. Our car stopped working at the beginning of Rush hour, AAA towed us to Du Fresnes, who stayed open to receive the car. Hospitality was amazing. They were quick (and thorough) to diagnose the next morning and made repairs accordingly. All service was transparent and honest. Repairs fairly priced. Got us back on the road in no time. Thank you!

My truck is as good as new! Preston helped me understand the work that would be needed and explained everything to me. After the repairs, my truck was noticeably more responsive and in better shape. And the A/C worked just in time for our second heat wave of the summer. I’m new to the Portland area and chose Du Fresne’s based on their high reviews. I’m glad I did.They performed a quick turnaround on my oil and filter service and did a “70 point” inspection with fluids topped off and vacuum of the interior. That kind of service will bring me back again.I also had them do an inspection of the front and rear brakes because a local tire store where I recently went to have a slow leak fixed also said they found problems with the brakes and presented me with an estimate of $559.94 for repairs. I have had my brakes checked every 5000 miles so I felt that I was being misinformed and decided to get another opinion. Thankfully the mechanic at Du Fresne’s found the brakes were fine. It pays to get a second opinion from people you can trust.Thanks

Was seeking a honest & trustworthy shop/mechanic for my Corvette and I seemed to have found the place. They say to look into your local mechanic and I did. Got an honest diagnosis and was repaired the same day, and came out cheaper than quoted. Prestkn was very knowledgeable, efficient, fair priced and I have no cons regarding this shop!

The AC on my 2012 Ford Fusion was blowing warm air and I was worried I wasn’t going to be able to get it fixed before the 100 degree weather this week. They had me in and out within a day and even had a loaner car for me to use while my car was in the shop. Everyone was friendly, thorough and professional. My AC works so well now, it blows out ice cold air! Thank you Du Fresne! Will definitely come back again. Also just learned from another review that they are woman -owned! So cool!

Great trusting people and if you live in the neighborhood, you cant beat the convenience. Ive never had any issues other than high prices. They do a great job. However, its rare to find an independent shop that is more expensive than the dealership. They quoted me $760 for a job the dealership wouldve done for $480. Thats a 58% increase in cost. When I pointed that out, they were nice and lowered their price to $650. If you want a mechanic you can trust and dont mind the added cost go with them. However, with that price increase, I will be shopping elsewhere for future repairs.

Went there to have bushings replaced quoted $50 for 2 damaged bushings and tried to charge me $130 and bent one of my Control arms. Will not be returning.Edit: What Corolla? The parts where for an impreza and you should read the full text before you reply. I had spent 2 hour readjusting the arm and bushing get it to even fit on the car. I said WAS QUOTED $50, yes, I did pay $100s but before seeing the horrible work, I need the arms and honor doesnt seem to be your businesses strong suit. Having seen and installed the arms, I wouldnt have paid that. Being a mechanic doesnt mean you know cars Ive spoken with many a dealers and been told this or that by mechanics that doesnt mean they know whats wrong or how to fix it. Why pay dealer prices for not dealer work. Also Corollas not mine and I NEVER TOLD YOU WHAT CAR OR WHERE I WAS FROM IT NOT YOUR BUSINESS. If you asked I would have told you and may have had a more positive opinion of you, but I dont like snakes.

DuFresns gives me good service and includes a multi-point inspection with my oil change, which is quite helpful. They are courteous and kind.

I received some marketing flyers from this business when I first moved in the area. It’s weird, but something about those flyers made me feel like I wanted to meet the people there. I love family owned businesses! I stopped in and met a warm and friendly barista named Bridget. By the way, what a great idea to have a coffee shop in an auto repair shop!Bridget was awesome and filled me in on the history of the business. I didnt need auto work, but I wanted to support this business in some small way, so I bought a lemon raspberry muffin. I had planned to take it home and split it with my wife. I did actually split it, but it tasted so good, I ate both halves. Shameful, I know, but true story.Hopefully, I wont need auto repair any time soon, but when I do, I know exactly where Im going!

The mechanics are honest and the front office people are nice. I would definitely recommend this place to have your cars fixed or even just an oils change.

My first experience with this shop and I have to say I was skeptical at first as I was mistreated by another shop and didnt want to go to a dealership with my Corvette. Ive been here a few times but never again will I take my car here. This company is so unprofessional. My husband and I were eagerly waiting for our stimulus check and I get a call from and old address that they have an important letter/check from the IRS. We drove over to pick it up and open the letter....only to discover its a promotional fake check offering a discount on my next services here. I cant even begin to describe how angry this made me. This is false advertising and marketing. The most sleazy ad campaign. I will never be coming here again. Its not right to use this pandemic as a way to get customers. If they stooped to this low of advertising I cant even imagine how poor of work they did on my car. Dont support this business.

I had an estimate from another garage for some work to my truck that they said I needed done. I gave the estimate to Preston Fowler. He inspected my truck and said I didnt need any of the work. He saved me $2500.00. I will be bring my truck to him from now on!

Marco (and Nancy and the young lady who turned on the heater) is friendly and I respect that he drove the car first even though my request was only for an oil change. After the work was completed he explained what needed to be replaced and the cost to do so, without pressuring me to do it then. The espresso, baked goods and vacuuming the car’s interior are very nice touches. I’m told Du Fresne has been around over 50 years. I can see why. I love shops like this. You will, too.

Having taken cars to dealerships my entire life, Du Fresne’s was a pleasant departure from the factory-like upselling of services. When a mechanic takes the time to talk to you rather than playing a telephone game with sales reps, it makes the automotive retail experience a little more palatable. I’ll be taking more vehicles there moving forward.

My car shut down three hours from home, and Du Fresne responded with efficiency, proficiency and friendliness. The repair was done well and at lower cost than expected, and they went the extra mile for me. Hapoy customer!

This was my first experience at Du Fresne’s and will definitely go back. I started having an odd sound when I started my car and thought it might be the transmission. Marco (mechanic) quickly diagnosed the problem as the water pump. It was fixed in the promised time and my car was vacuumed clean which was a bonus.

Two days before taking the car into the shop, I tried to schedule an appointment with the most rude, and least helpful receptionist, who yelled at me, and hung up on me three times. When I took the car there, I told them that I had a cylinder 1 misfire, and that the spark plugs and wires likely need replaced. They charged me 170 for the check engine diagnostic, (and several other things which I did not ask them to look into). They charged me 300 to essentially replace spark plugs and wires. This business is a sham run by unprofessional scam artists. Never take your car here.

I recently had a problem where Beaverton Honda was screwing with me on my low mileage car just one month out of warranty. I brought my car to DuFresnes to do the work, since I was really angry at Beaverton Honda. Mike, rather than taking on the job, thought it was really poor form on Hondas part and took it upon himself to call his contacts at Honda for me to try to get them to cover the work (at the dealership). He went out of his way, made several calls, checked in with me over several weeks, and advised me on how to proceed all to NOT have me pay them to do work on my car. Came here for a quote on my car. They charge $35 - $50 for a quote. I wouldve gone elsewhere as Im usually not charged for a quote at other mechanics and it didnt sit right with me but my car wasnt in a good position to drive further. Also, it wasnt clear what constitutes a $35 quote versus a $50 quote. It turned out my power steering pump needed replacing and they wanted $540 for the job. I called another mechanic and he offered $280. The discrepancy in cost was a difference in labor costs, both mechanics asked about $150 for the part. I ended up taking my car and risking the drive to the other mechanic to get it fixed and paid them the fee for the quote. I am grateful they charged on the low end of $35 and not the $50. I cant speak to their quality of service as I didnt use them in the end, but for the price it didnt seem worth it, and the charge for the quote rubbed me the wrong way.

Due to covid I began working from home and not driving, doing so killed my battery and alternator. I called around to a few places and while Du Fresnes wasnt the cheapest option, I know I made the right choice. I had my car towed there and they had the part ordered and my car repaired by the next day. They didnt try to upsell me anything and they didnt talk down to me just because Im a woman. I will absolutely return should I need future service on any of my vehicles.

Great staff and great service.I had a maintenance light come on and took it into Du Fresnes for service, the assured me the maintenance light popped on as someone previously forgot to reset it, as any maintenance that would be due had been done, per the database or records for my VIN, and no oil change was needed either. They did a thorough check and did find I needed brake work. They took the time to describe what condition the rotors and calipers were in, and which needed replaced and which didnt. I picked my car up later that day; they were also running a food drive for the Oregon Food Bank, so I was able to drop off a bag of groceries with them that would be transferred to the food bank. Ill say it again, Great Staff and Great Service at Du Fresnes.

I took my car to them because my trunk would not close. They charged me 120 dollars and within 2 weeks it was broken again. I took it back, they fixed it again. Now once again it is not working. This should have been an easy fix the first time and definitely should NOT have cost 120 dollars. These guys suck. Hard.Edit: That response is them admitting they couldnt fix it but still charged me $120.He probably spent more time looking through his records then they did fixing my trunk.

Ive been here about 5 times for various minor car issues like bulb replacements and spark plug changes. Their service has always been quick, always fixed the problem, and has always been a good price. Ive always called various other shops to see if I could get a better price, but DuFresnes usually has the best or close to the best price.They also take reasonable precautions against COVID. They sanitize your key before handing it back to you and wear masks.

Honesty and integrity are things that are hard to come by these days. So finding a neighborhood mechanic that was not only skillful but a man of his word was a fantastic surprise.

Its great being able to leave my car to have maintenance or repair at a locally owned place that does such good work. All of my experiences with them have been positive. I leave my car there with confidence.

Nice people who were professional. I didn’t like that my car needed the repairs they suggested, but in the end, they were accurate. A separate service provider agreed with their diagnosis.Called when ready and were very helpful to me providing extra information that I could use to sell the car.

Went for warranty work on a previously fixed air conditioner for a 2009 Ford Escape and after a $200 diagnostic charge found the problem and “fixed” it... only problem is, it wasn’t fixed so we brought the car back for another diagnosis (this was free of charge) and they found the leak was actually under the dashboard and would cost another $1700 to fix it!!! No apology for the apparent miss diagnosis from last repair, or offer to fix it at a reduced rate. So now I have a car with a, still, non working air conditioner and approx. $1500 paid out to two garages!!! When, if it was diagnosed correctly the first time we could have had a completely brand new unit!! As it is, we are out all that money and time and still have a broken A/C unit!!! I’m so tired of dealing with this stuff Any suggestions??

This place was amazing. They were able to get me in last minute on a Saturday afternoon when my brakes needed to be replaced immediately. They did a great job, and for a reasonable price. 10/10 would recommend.

I have continued to go here for my oil changes and I am very happy with them. Just went the other day. I asked about COVID precautions and they assured me that they disinfect on the way into my car and on the way out. I appreciate that. They are good.I have only been here once, but I scheduled a oil change, it cost about $38 dollars, they were super friendly both in person and on the phone, explained their recommendations very clearly. When I went to pick up my car I was also happy and surprised that they had vacuumed the inside of it and washed the windshield. I will definitely go back.Update:

Got a nail in my tire. They were able to get it in and repaired in less than 15 minutes. Will always bring my vehicles here for repair.
