My car months ago had a bad brake noise. They found a rock in caliper, no charge.A couple weeks ago I had an oil change inspection on my truck. I had a major question about a transfer case leak that I think was not done right.That tech is gone so they did the transfer case fluid change at no charge. Ill be back in a week for the transmission fluid change.
I was taken advantage of and scammed by this place. Severely over-charged and they didn’t even fix the problem. Do not trust these people with your car!
This review is for detailing our car. We brought our subura recently in because our lease was ending. We felt guilty about how dirty the car looked and how unkept it was... Honestly it was pretty bad after many camping trips and dog park days. I was so impressed with how well they cleaned the car, it felt cleaner than the day we got it. Overall I thought the price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place.
Took my car in for them to replace one wheel bearing that I already knew was going bad. Went back the next day after they have given me an estimate for 20 other things they said needed to be worked on and then wanted to charge me for test driving it to find out that the wheel bearing was indeed bad, and did not change the bearing. So 50 bucks for them to put it on the lift and say yep, you need a new bearing. They said it was a shakedown they needed to perform on the car, but what they really were doing was shaking me down. Bad business. Dont take your car here. Go to Fix 4 Less in Gresham.
I came in and brought my x5 that I just bought for a inspection to see all what needed to be done. The girl at the desk Kaitlyn was really friendly and got me in right away on such short notice! definitely will be coming back with my other cars!
The way they handle diagnostics for vehicles is pretty funny. Say you have a car thats misfiring, the CEL is on, and youre experiencing drivability issues. Instead of charging you an hour to diagnose the issue by pulling codes with a factory approved scan tool, Town Center Automotive would rather immediately perform their head gasket check and bill you $165 right off the bat. Then, instead of trying to actually figure out whats wrong, they then must perform a compression test. The first 2 tests combine for at least $345 depending on your engines size. Then they check fuel, spark, and make sure the engine is getting air. Their last test is to finally pull codes and see what the modules in your vehicle are saying. So imagine having a newer vehicle, experiencing a misfire, and maybe youve got a bad fuel pressure sensor in your vehicle. These guys wont figure that out until they first charge you $345 for their mandatory tests when you could just take your vehicle to the dealer and have real professionals diagnose your vehicle in an hour or less with the factory scan tool. Obviously, no one here has any real experience in the automotive industry and you can tell just from this one example. They could probably install some tires and change your oil but leave the actual work to the professionals.
I went to Town Center on Halsey for some long delayed repair, they were amazing.I get nervous trying a new place, but the dealership was way too much- Town Center charged me less than half the dealership quote and got it done quickly.My own experience, and from hearing them on the phone while waiting in the office, you get the sense that they are invested in getting the job done right for each customer. I really appreciated the care they give and recommend them to anyone with a car concern.

Edit:I find it extremely disrespectful that youre accusing me of taking my children out in the pandemic for a car while sick. I also find it rude that youre taking this review as derogatory when I simply stated exactly what happened. There was only 3 employees that had seen us. We went inside, and neither of the two people inside said anything and took my keys because unlike what you were told, my children werent coughing. And your third employee had passed by after my children were already inside the car with the doors closed so I dont see how they would have heard such a thing. Not only that, they had us sit outside for nearly 10mins prior to telling me that they cant give us a ride due to the driver being IMMUNOCOMPROMISED, NOT vaccinated. If you need to check your videos, go ahead, but dont accuse people of trying to harm their children, other people and defame a company prior to it. The original review was made the day of the incident, a few hours after we had left. Again, good on you for taking care of your employees, but you dont need to teach someone who is also vaccinated and still gets regular checks due to working in a field with actual immunocompromised people. Have a wonderful day, and dont forget to check your videos to see us going in, handing our keys and waiting outside for 10mins for no reason.I was told I couldnt receive a ride home due to a cough I had and the driver is immunocompromised. Im glad they kept the employee safe, even though my cough was due to asthma from allergies...but im giving 1 star for the fact that they have someone immunocompromised being around people, or even offering rides where they will be in an enclosed spot with strangers less than 6ft apart. Putting someone at risk in the front lines is the only reason I am giving this a 1 star. I was asked to reschedule when they didnt give me a ride, so I cant base it on their labor.. The check in lady was really nice when explaining and apologizing though so their customer service isnt horrible from what small time I spent there.

It was early morning. I was just leaving the house to take my son to school and then head work. I was driving down the road when my rig just quit, nothing, done. Dead on the side of the road. I am a single father and only have 1 vehicle. Had it towed to K&M where they were able to fix it and get it back to me the next day. Quick and efficient I got my keys back and was pleased that the repair cost didnt break the bank. Elias at the front desk was friendly, helpful and was great with the communication. I would highly recommend K&M to anyone for any auto repair needs and they have earned by future business.
Our trucks power window wouldnt roll up. We called K & M early this morning, and they told us to bring it in and theyd take a look at it same day. They were able to fix it, as well as our unhinged door panel, all while we were at work. Window works great! Highly recommend them! Always a great experience with them!👍

The quality of work was good, but my car was not returned in a timely manner like I was told. I scheduled an appointment for 10am on a Monday. I needed a coolant flush and new water pump, which I was verbally told would be done by the following morning. Unfortunately I did not receive the car until Thursday at the end of day, only after I called to check the status of my vehicle. I dont care about how long it takes to fix my car, but I expect I an accurate estimate on how long I will be out of being able to commute to work.In comparison to the plethora of seedy, bottom of the barrel auto repair shops around Oregon, potentially waiting a couple extra days for good quality work at K and M is a small price to pay for the cost of doing business.

My sons car broke down. We towed it to K&M, Gerald was super sweet. He seemed genuine, that he hated to say, that the motor was dead and needs to be replaced. They were quick and very polite!

This weekend both cars we owned decided to start having problems. I looked up local mechanics and found this family owned and operated shop and decided to check them out. I am so glad that I did. I didnt have an appointment the morning I stopped in, but they were able to fit me in and take care of both my vehicles the same day! They were honest and fair when it came to the price of my new alternator and fixing one of my vehicles sensors. I believe I have come to find my new trusted mechanic in Portland!

My car had a few issues and K and M fixed them and did it in a timely fashion. I was also given a loaner car which most places do not offer! I dealt with Elias, he was very knowledgeable and professional. He kept me in the loop on the cost and what was going on as far as repairs that needed to be done. Definitely going back if anything else needs repaired and I would recommend bringing your car/suv/truck here!!!!
I have known the owner for almost 30 years. He used to work for me. His shop, workers and Rose are the best. I have had 2 million miles of road use so plenty of experience with auto shops. These guys are the BEST!! Which also shows the character of the owner and the employees. You cant go wrong here, only RIGHT!

Cant say enough about the fantastic job these guys did on my truck. Shane, and mechanics that worked on my vehicle ( I wish I remembered their names to give them much deserved credit) were extremely knowledgeable about my situation- and had the specialized extracting tools and equipment to get it done. I have a 2004 Ford F-150 which is notorious for being an absolute nightmare when putting in new spark plugs / tune up. Simple Google search will yield pages of results from other owners complaining about how they snap off & the whole process in general (Easily a two-day ordeal). My truck runs so good now - its like new! Very happy. They also put forth extra effort with preventative measures to make the process easier next time. Additional labor hours were needed which was expected given the circumstances. Price wise - I got a fantastic deal on top of top notch work. Thank You K&M !

These guys are amazing! Shane was super helpful and the guys in the shop explained everything to me in a way that made perfect sense (Im obviously not a car person). I hung out while they overlooked my Ford Focus- came back within an hour had quotes ready to go for what needed to be fixed. Their estimated time to fix the squeaky belt was an hour and then less than an hour later, belt was fixed and I was out the door! Definitely going to keep bringing my focus back. Plus online scheduling and the online portal to keep track of everything is super cool.
Finding a good mechanic is hard. Finding a shop that is honest is even harder. Ive found both with K&M and Ill be going there for life. They break down what the issue is, let you see what is wrong with your own eyes and then show you how theyve shopped for the best prices on parts. ALWAYS friendly and courteous, theyll even give you a ride home!!!! When my older car was on its last legs they suggested not going by forward with repairs, something no other shop has done for me. Once I saw what was wrong and what it would take it was obviously time to buy a new one. Anywhere else would have nickel and dimensions me for the profit. This shop understands the value of building life long relationships and like I said before, I value that enough to say theyre my guys permanently because of it. Fantastic service and great pricingI took my Honda Im here to get my intake gaskets fixed a job I would rather not do my self came in first thing in the morning they took my car in then ever offered to give me a ride back and forth while waiting on my car .I did have a issue where the stereo and power doors were not working when I got it back . Called them when I got back home they took the car right back and fixed it within the hourml best part is that they were willing to admit and fix a mistake made witch it hard to find at an auto shop thanks you k &m will be coming back for any auto work

These guys were great! After I dropped my car off Doug gave me a ride home, I thought that was pretty awesome, I have never had a shop offer to give me a ride home. They replaced my battery and even did some extra work to fix my hood (it wont open), Im going to take that to a body shop to fix, but they were able to get it to open and shut or me, so I thought that was pretty great of them. They are really nice and honest, I will definitely take my car there for future work.
I expected the repairs for my truck to take a whole week and expensive. I was very surprised how much K&M saved me by only repairing what needed to be done and nothing beyond that. They called me within 3 hours after I dropped off the truck and ran through what they recommendedand gave me a quote. All the repairs were done within a day after the parts were received.
Really impressed by the level of mechanical and customer service I received. You got me scheduled same day, an hour from my call. Thorough inspection at no cost with oil change. These guys are awesome! Not only were they trustworthy and knowledgeable, Shane went out of his way to accomodate my difficult work schedule as soon as possible to complete an urgent repair for me. In addition, their estimate was lower than two other shops that Id gone to, but once they looked at my vehicle, it turned out that the cost was actually half of what Id thought, because Id been told by another mechanic that my vehicle needed more work than it actually did. I will definitely be going to K & M for any future service needs, and I would recommend them to anyone! *** Also, as a side note - I worried about taking my BMW to any other place than one that specialized in German autos, but these guys knew exactly what they were doing and did a fantastic job!
Had part to repair ac. But not tools. I have 40 years fixing cars. I thought what if ...I dont have tools needed.I called and explained it to them.Was ok. Will install your part.Didnt work. Ac was done. Ok. So just fix it. And fix the oil leak too.Decided was ac compressor was done. Ok buy new and install.Not working still.Bad new partReplacing again. No charge.Finally it works.Stayed with it and made it work. Plus gave military discount.I can recommend this repair shop. Thanks for staying with it guys..
Brought my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee in because I was showing all the symptoms of a cracked cylinder head/blown head gasket. Im relatively handy with a wrench but when it comes to major engine repairs is when my skills stop. Took it in and Doug had it looked at for me and found out that all my symptoms were unrelated issues that I could easily fix on my own. I greatly appreciate their honesty since I made it clear on drop off that I was sure it was a cracked cylinder head. Will definitely use them in the future.
Waited about a week to write this review to see how my car held up after service. Happy to say I am not disappointed!!!Brought my car in to the 122nd location with A LOT of issues: 1998 Buick LeSabre that had been sitting for months and had a list of issues that I thought would cost me a small fortune to fix. I chose K&M based on reviews from prior customers because I wanted someone who would actually fix the car and not oversell me. The guys at K&M did exactly that! No gimmicks, all honesty; I never felt like I was being nickel and dimed.No service you will get anywhere will be as cheap as you want; theyre cars and theyre expensive. But K&M will fix your car exactly how they say they will at a price that is well worth the stellar service you get. I will definitely be coming back to you guys for anything else I need! These ppl are scam artists and likely paying for the good reviews they get....Look up the people that are writing them and you will notice some are teens who are also writing reviews for resorts?!?. K&M Auto did a pre-purchase inspection on a truck we were considering. They were able to work us in the following morning. The inspection was very thorough and the mechanic and Shane were great about explaining their findings. I would highly recommend this business for their professionalism and terrific customer service.
I went to this shop because it was near my house and I heard a couple good things. I have a 1999 SVT Cobra and its hard to find a reliable place that can work well on my engine. I asked them to check out a list of things for me because the car itself has many problems that Ive needed diagnosed and repaired for a while. They looked at it and gave me some items and numbers to what I needed done...one of which was a head gasket repair...this is where it gets annoying. I took it to another shop to get another diagnosis cause I didnt believe it had a bad head gasket. This ship gave me different quotes and different things I needed(a couple the same). They said that my head gaskets were completely fine and I had no other oil leaks at all. So this shop was trying to have me repair something I didnt need for a massive price. They seemed nice, but I find this very unprofessional and rude, so just be aware...always get two opinions.
My car was taken care of promptly. They fixed the problem so no more check engine light. Everyone is very friendly snd helpful. Good job!
AWFUL! WISH I COULD GIVE LESS THAN 1 STAR! I had hoped to get this resolved and not have to resort to posting on social media, but unfortunately it has come to this. In July I took my 2004 Lexus GX 470 in to K&M to have an oil change and for them to check through the vehicle prior to leaving on a 1000+ mile road trip. I was having NO issues with the vehicle whatsoever. They recommended a transmission flush. After they flushed the transmission the vehicle would not go in to 1st gear. We were told the transmission would have to be completely rebuilt. THEY DAMAGED A PERFECTLY FINE TRANSMISSION. I did some research after this happened and found out the transmission on a Lexus GX470 should NEVER BE FLUSHED. There is a warning in the manual about it. I had to have my transmission rebuilt by another shop. That alone cost me $3600. This doesn’t include the other cost associated with this. They even charged me for the transmission flush which ruined it in the first place. I have tried to resolve this matter with K&M directly, but have ended up hiring a lawyer. My lawyer has sent them 2 certified letters, but THEY WON’T SIGN FOR THEM. I can only assume THEY KNOW THAT THEY ARE AT FAULT FOR DAMAGES AND ARE TRYING TO AVOID US. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ALTHOUGH THEY SEEM OK AT THE BEGINNING, ONCE THINGS GO BAD THEY GO REALLY BAD.

After my check engine light came on, I took it into this shop within three days. When I called, they were able to make an appointment for the next day, which was convenient, and I was looking forward to getting my car fixed so quickly. I got there at 10:00am, which was what time my appointment was scheduled, and was told it would take a half-hour to check the engine, so I stuck around. After waiting for an hour, I had gotten no word, and asked the guy at the desk how things were going. He said then that my car was ready, though no one had let me know. I didnt think much of it, and asked them how it was looking. They said I needed a new distributor, and gave me an estimate of about 520 dollars. It was a lot, but I figured that the part was just very expensive, and ordered the part change. They said it would take 90 minutes, and then said they would give me a call when it was done. Then Rose, the bookkeeper, gave me a ride home, which was very nice, and she was very nice and interesting to talk to. I had left the shop at around 11:00, and at about 2:30, I had still gotten no word, so, I called back and had to leave message, and about 15 minutes later, they called me back, finally, three hours and 45 minutes after I initially left. They said my car was ready, so I got a ride over, though not from them (not that that is an issue; just specifying), and picked up my car. I got the bill, and it was $100 more than the estimate, which is fine, though upon looking at the price of the part I had replaced, the distributor, I was charged $412 for it. After looking online at parts prices, I noticed that they were going for $80 to $120 online, on various websites. Upon seeing that, I was struck by the price I paid for the part; obviously, a markup is necessary, but a markup of over 400% is startling and confusing, leading me to few thoughts but that I was over-charged, and significantly so.Overall, the lack of communication from them was confusing, and made me feel somewhat lost or forgotten. Combined with such a significant mark up on the parts, I felt that was treated as an afterthought, and easy prey for money. If it wasnt for Rose, who was kind and helpful in giving me a ride home, I would be incredibly dissatisfied with my service. But, given that, I was only very dissatisfied, and I have little interest in returning to this shop.
K&M takes great care of all the trucks in our fleet. Fast turnaround time and great customer service. I even use them for my personal vehicles.
Great people, pointed out additional problems with the vehicle but didnt pressure us to get work done on things that could wait.Had our drive line rebuilt. Got it done in a way that was cheaper and easier to fix later if anything happens. Forgot to tell us when it had to be sent back when the rebuild was done wrong.Overall going to stick with them for our Jeep.

Be wary getting an inspection here. Particularly if you are a company like Getaround getting inspections done. I guess K&M decided their $75.00 dollar inspection fee wasnt enough. If they make up enough bogus work to do they could make more. Their idea of an inspection is to look for stickers instead of under the inspection covers. They said my Subaru needed a timing belt because it didnt have a sticker. They said it needed new spark plugs because it didnt have a sticker. Both were actually brand new with less than 200 miles on them. They said it needed the rack and pinion replaced because it was leaking oil. The steering assembly was so clean you could eat off of it. None of the hydraulic lines were leaking and all the fittings were clean. The only thing dirty was the bottom of the bellows had collected some road dirt. The only thing they got right was that the transmission did need a flush. literally a 200 to 300 dollar job instead of the $3,200 they wanted to charge.Makes me wonder how many people they have ripped off. They seem to be quite comfortable doing it.My reply to Owners comments: 1-18-2019Sorry but that is some poor business practices you have there and I find it interesting that you admitted to taking shortcuts. First and foremost is that many times those cheap stickers will not stick or stay stuck for very long due to unseen contamination. Second point is that you are flat out wrong about inspection covers being difficult to remove. In fact it was rather quick and simple to do the inspection even for someone not used to working on Subarus. In fact I would say that most homeowners with very limited mechanical ability could remove the inspection cover. I mean that is why it is put there in the first place.You can claim to be honest but the facts dont speak of honesty to me. When I can take my car and have 4 mechanics including me going over your report and find all these things you claim need done are totally non issues, well that speaks volumes about your shop. You didnt rip me off so much as you ripped GetAround off. GetAround lost potential income. I didnt actually lose anything. I fixed a minor brake problem you didnt find and I spent $100 on genuine Subaru transmission fluid and flushed the transmission myself. $200. If I paid myself for the time. The car has been on Turo since with zero problems for a couple thousand miles making money for Turo and I.

These guys are fantastic! I was going on a road trip and am from out of town and was worried that my catalytic converter was going out and wanted my car to be looked over before I headed back to Iowa. I am very weary of where I take my car because Ive had very sketchy mechanics in the past and because I feel like being a woman sometimes mechanics take advantage of you. However, I had no sinking feeling in my stomach when I went there and they went above and beyond to make sure my car was safe and that I knew what was going on with it. They had not one but two mechanics look over my car and found nothing wrong (yay)! They also gave me advice on how to keep my fuel system clean (I have had fuel pump that went put and fuel line problems in the past month) and told me what I to look out for when I get back home and what I need to replace in the near future. They also gave me a bottle of coolant to take with me. And the best part is because they didnt do any work, they didnt charge me a thing. They employees were extremely helpful and kind---one even gave me advice on my road trip on where to drive when going through California and the store manager, Shane, also squeezed me in their schedual because I was leaving town the next day. If I were you I wouldnt take my car anywhere else.
These guys are great! So friendly and professional, the type of business where you can tell that they know what they are doing and enjoy doing it. They gave me all the specials ($19.95 oil change, $15 off of a transmission flush) and did lots of little maintenance things (filling tires, topping off fluids, checking code for check engine light) quickly and without my even asking. They even tightened up the loose plastic covering on the underside of the car. When I asked if they had wifi they apologized that they didnt---and then an employee walked out from the back with an internet cable for me to plug in to my laptop so I could get online! What service. 100% recommended.

Came in 11/20/2015 to get a pre-purchase inspection. They were very nice and professional, very thorough. The car was previously take to the dealership and they gave me more information than the dealership. I will be using them again.

Tried to lie and say that a 20$ part was unavailable and that we had to pay 1300$ to rebuild. I found the part online in 5 minutes but they refused to purchase it and insisted on rebuild. Total scam.

K & M Auto Service is a freaking life saver (ok a little over dramatic but they are awesome)!! So my car broke down yesterday, by the grace of God right as I was pulling into my parking spot at work. It sputtered out stalled and died and would not start again :( My car has had some issues this past year, but a super awesome friend of mine has mostly been able to figure it out. I have also taken it to a few shops when my friend need diagnostic help, and I received good service from both of the other shops. This time there were no obvious things wrong, so I had to have it towed to a shop. I have never used K & M before but heard good things and they are really close to my house. So they diagnosed the problem (EGR stuck open, tail light and oil needed changed, tie rods and alignment) they called me and stayed after hours to help me with financing, which is a God send because Im a single mom right before Christmas right after her birthday (funds just arent there). And here it is noon today and everything is done and ready to go and I didnt get it to them until late yesterday afternoon! Great experience in a sucky situation. Long story short if you need any sort of auto repair or oil change etc.Absolutely Blown Away With The Service!
I was told that I needed a new engine and a wheel bearing. First my appointment was at 1pm and the technician didnt get back from lunch on time. I waited 30 minutes. Iwas told I would get a call with an estimate of either a new engine or 40 hours of labor to fix my oil pressure problem. Next day and still no call. I was filled with overwhelming anxiety thinking that I needed a new engine on a truck i still owe over $9000 on. I decided to get a second opinion. The new honest mechanic says I dont need a new engine at all. I only needed an oil pressure sensor after they did an engine flush. These people are christians and say they could get rich if they didnt live for God. Im so happy! I only had to pay $300 and not $4-$5K. Thank God and may he bless this dishonest or ignorant mechanic with some truth. Oh the new mechanic said I didnt need the wheel bearing either.
I came in to change the oil. Doug looks like a store manager. I asked him something and who he is. He said that he is the janitor. He looks very rude and mean. Bad customer service.

Um. The Worst Ever. Cant prove anything, but I put gas in my car before I took it to them, had it towed home, had someone come out to scrap it, who offered to empty the gas tank... Empty already.
