Lonnie and his crew have all been great. Especially Jake who even stopped to check on me when he saw me on the side of the road checking out my car from excitement after picking it up.I got in way over my head with a classic car I have been wanting for a long time. I thought I could do it myself and very quickly found out I needed some professional help. They did a complete SS dash swap with a full rewire on my Chevelle. They not only completed the job quickly, but took the time to ask about and then fix some of the other issues people caused by cutting corners. They have fixed a lot of the issues I have had with this car and have been wonderful to work with. I can’t say enough about these guys. Hard workers, incredibly knowledgeable, available, and very friendly. A thank you is not enough for how much I appreciate their help.If you need something done to your ride, this is the shop. They’re worth the wait.

Although I didnt end up having the guys and CK work on my car because there were 4-6 months out and I wanted to enjoy it before summer. I did end up purchasing a bunch of parts from them. Great pricing and fast shipping.. some parts were hard to find and Lonnie took the time to locate them for me from a different company, even though he wouldnt make any money on them. He also took the time to help me figure out my rear end measurements as well. Great guys and Im looking forward to them working my car soon.

Communication is everything to me and to not answer the phone. Let alone set up an appointment to talk about a project and not actually attend the appointment (phone call btw) That probably tells me enough about how itll be bringing my car to them. I really wanted to work with this business but getting in seems like a hassle. No thanks.Updated: I was supposed to call I guess. Oops whatever. Ive never had a business expect me to call when im the client. Especially when it comes to a scheduled appointment that either I didnt see clearly or it wasnt listed as I call the place. Even les scwab calls to confirm im still arriving even if I didnt expect it. Its just courtesy. Customer service should then be worked on if they felt so offended to just post reciepts rather than say We must of had a miscommunication on who was calling who, we can schedule another or you can work with another company. We apologize for how things turned out But instead they felt a need to reply the way that they did. I dont appreciate that at all.

You can expect high quality craftsmanship. My husband inherited two classic cars from his father, one is in near perfect condition with very low original miles. The other is in pretty good condition but needed a little fine tuning to run well. He took his cars here and Lonnie took great care of him. He paid a premium, which I wasnt fond of, but considering the circumstances it is worth it to keep these investments maintained. One wouldnt start and they work with a towing service. Extremely professional and respected the beautiful cars in their hands. If you own the kind of vehicles worth spending money on to keep nice, this is a great place to work with.

No. No. No.Poor communication, expectation setting, and project management (actually, there is no project management at this company - I know, since I employ people who manage projects for a living)As a general philosophy, the owner of the company treated the project like an infinite piggy bank, with no clear communication on what things would cost. Phone calls were not returned, emails lacked even clear grammar or basic communication. To get specific: I asked several times for price estimates. For example, Will you provide me an estimate for the cost to do body work and prime after sand blasting is done and you can see whats needed?Nothing.Eventually, I was forced to pull the project.I later took the project to another shop. Sadly, they found rusted spots in places that were supposedly fine. I spent over $10k at this shop and can say that I would have been much better off elsewhere.Perhaps if you have deep, deep pockets, this place can work for you. Or, perhaps if you speak the secret language of non-communicative shop owners. But if neither of these applies to you, stay far away from Lonnie and his crew.

These guys have ALWAYS made us feel like family. We never feel like we are being swindled or over priced. We actually have to drive a good 45 minutes out of the way just to get our car serviced here, but the trip is always well worth it. You can rest assured that this facility will take care of your vehicle needs and give you the best possible service.

The shop owner is a family man who isnt into it for the money, but for the satisfaction of reviving classics and making peoples dream car/truck become a reality. He and his crew cater to your every need and will work with whatever budget youre on. Great friendly staff too! They definitely have an eye for detail!

I’ve known Lonnie for close to 10 years. When we first met, I bought an instrument cluster from him for a car I’m working on. Great guy with high integrity. He left the door open that if I needed anything, call anytime. I did, he answered and he calls back.He worked with me on a project to do all the bodywork and paint on my 1967 Mustang. We came up with a plan, and I went into this with eyes wide open. The car turned out great and he delivered it to my house so it was on me to finish, which is exactly what I asked for.He treated me the same way buying a $500 part as he did when I spend thousands on the bigger project. Many people have no idea what it takes to work on a car, the time and the costs. It is never cheap if you want it done right. He’s always been a straight shooter with us. I’m teeing up my second project with him.If he tells you what somethings going to cost, thats what it takes to do things right.Do your homework and realize that there are guys out there that are flakes. If the numbers sound too good to be true, they probably are and you won’t be happy. Save yourself from throwing money away and do things right. Compare, talk to the owners, look at their work from other customers, go to the shows and see...This shop is legit, and its why I’m going back...

I went to this shop on Jan 31 2015 and had my new air ride system to me in less than 2 weeks. Lonnie always answers the phone and even returned the one call he didnt answer in a few minutes and I didnt have to even leave a message. Best service Ive had in a very long time! Ive added a few little upgrades to the system I wanted that didnt cost a bunch more with Lonnie suggestions that really made me love this system even more than anticipated. If your looking for a great value of high quality service, support and workmanship give this place a call. After looking at a few different places online and coming from Vancouver Im more than ever satisfied after calling Carolina Kustoms. I called today for a simple question just over 3 months from purchasing and Lonnie knew me by first name off the bat and makes you feel like family after working with him. This is the type of service I remember seeing my Pops get back in the day with his cars. Thank you for doing business!

When someone comes on the phone sounding drugged out and estimating $15K-$30K for a paint job for a non-show quality paint job without even seeing the car, Im tending to go with my first impression. There is no way *any* paint job is worth that.Nice spin on the phone conversation, $450K for a coupe? nope. Glass replaced? No. Full remodel? No. My business? No - at those prices Im sure you dont need it. Looks like you do great work, but I dont have that kind of cash to burn.

A fairly simple job of adding a rack and pinion turned into a year and $5000 for a weekends work and even then the job was half done. Tie rods said to be too short were actually too long. Broken heim joints and no alignment because of the incompetence. The rack I provided was bad, so in defense of Lonnie, that was a problem but he should have noticed it. Think twice. I may have to sell what was a perfectly fine car from the damage done. Yes I accept some responsibility for going down the wrong path, but overall a really bad experience could have been avoided :-)
