I called on Monday and asked if they could look at my car. I was having an issue with the ABS system, and a grinding sound from my rear tire. And even though they were booked until June 1, they allowed me to drop my car off and said theyd try to look at it the next day.. and they did. The diagnosis was I needed new brakes for both rear tires and a hub assembly for the passenger tire. I thought this would take weeks. Parts are hard to get these days. BUT, they found brakes the next day AND the hub assembly. I dealt with Eric everytime I called. He was very professional and I appreciated everything he was able to do to get me back on the road! Avenue Garage is an authorized dealer for APR tuning. My 2014 Volkswagen CC was completely stock with the manufacturer rated 200 horsepower and 207 foot pounds of torque (APR dynod the stock motor at 221hp and 223 ft-lbs.) This is a reasonable amount of power but considering the basic architecture of this motor is tuned considerably higher in other VW/Audi applications, I wanted to upgrade its performance. FWIW, those sharing this 2.0 TSI motor include the VW Passat, GLI, GTI Tiguan and the Audi A3 and TT (and others.) APR has been among the best tuners for over 20 years with a reputation for performance, quality and reliability. Their Black Friday special was too good to miss.Ron at Avenue Garage was very helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. He thoroughly explained the process and worked with me on the logistics of getting my daily drive in and serviced. Kirk did the tune (more about that later) and I couldnt be happier with the service he performed. My car was done well within the time estimated and the cost was right where it was estimated.The Stage 1 tune is nothing short of amazing. APR really has tuning down to a science. Peak acceleration has definitely increase significantly, but ordinary performance has noticeably improved. APR states that fuel economy will increase but I would imagine that would have to be if you are showing some restraint with driving habits. The car is definitely quicker. I havent tested it and I dont have a baseline, but Im sure the 0-60 and 1/4 miles times are dramatically improved.My only regret is that I didnt do this sooner. I was considering buying another car with better performance. But the result of this $500 upgrade is real bargain and driving performance makes it feel like a totally new car. This is the tune that VW should have used from the factory. Given the exceptional service and incredible performance upgrade, I cant recommend Avenue Garage and an APR enough. Id like to give a big thanks to Ron and Kirk and the staff of Avenue Garage.

Best experience I’ve had with a garage and getting my car fixed! And great mechanic for MINI/BMW. They were able to diagnose the issue and get me on way in a matter of 1.5 working days. High standard for parts and labor at a reasonable price! Not trying to scam you- I came in well below my estimate. Great people, who care about the service they provide you! I’ll always try to take my cars to Avenue garage in the future!EDIT-Two months later, I then needed an additional repair from the dealership that I thought was done at avenue garage (it wasn’t!) but they were generous enough to pay for it to be done (at the dealership!) anyways, since they missed it. As well as my oil change. Such kind and not scammy people who really stand behind their work. HIGHLY SUGGEST!

Avenue used to provide a good service but lately it’s gone down hill to say the least. The staff in the office is terrible. The pricing has gotten out of control lately and unrealistic. I will not be back here, and I do not recommend Avenue garage anymore. It’s unfortunate because They used to provide good service both in the office and in the garage. I’m not sure if they went under new management lately but the pricing is unrealistic.

Where do I start with this amazing shop? My car needed so much help to get up to par that I, was losing hope. But, thelevel of Professionalism from the first phone call to the last step of the process was outstanding at Avenue Garage and got me through it. I drove 3 hours to arrive at this shop and I can honestly say it was worth every mile. They provide such detailed reports of there assessments for customers to understand and that’s matched with a high level of knowledge when it comes German engineering regardless of the year. First time customer recommended by a friend. I called in on a Monday and spoke to kirk, seemed like a nice guy and I felt he would look after me. We set-up an appointment for next day to get my engine light diagnosed. I came in the next day and met Kevin, he didnt even look to see if I had an appointment, all he said was what do you think this is our busy period we will try and look at your car. There were other comments but you get the message. This is not the place for me I like professional relationships where there is trust. Cheaper is not always the best. I called back to give Kirk some feedback, he was good enough but backed his employee and said the appointment was in the books but was in small print so Kevin didnt see it. Kevin didnt even look, but that gave me a bad feeling about Kirk as well. Just my experience for what its worth.

Spent $556.00 after negotiation (quote over the phone was around $300.00 to bring me in - change spark plugs and wires for 4.8l chevy express 2500 age of 2008), they had to change one more part that was not in the quote after their diagnostics(Coil-$129.00) so I thought $300+$129=$429.00. He said $620 some dollars, I said $500.00 is more than a fair, we negotiated to $556.00.Well, I got a call that my van is fixed and ready, I come take my van, first feeling, not bright. Rough running but no CEL. Used it next morning for few service calls, rough running no CEL. Parked for the next 3 days. 4th day I worked 7-8 hours and light is back on with still rough engine sound (first time I see that CEL is blinking before going solid on dashboard ). I am having feeling it will stall on the traffic lights. I stop by AutoZone they checked and it is the same code that I had before. I called this shop again and drove my van in. I am told now that some O2 sensors are stored in the codes and that is why I have the problem. I decided not to let them work any more on my van thinking if O2 sensors are bad now, whats next in the line. I told him, the part exchangers are no good technicians and that their approach of elimination (change this part, change that part) is only good for them, the shop, not so much for the customer.I am waiting in the front to get my van and I am approached (always the same salesman person from my very first phone call) and he says that with no charge they would like to confirm for me it is indeed O2 sensors because, he says, they had similar experience with somebodys else van just like mine not so long ago 😶. He asked me to wait a bit and they will bring me my van. After 30-40min..... YES it is CONFIRMED one O2 sensor is bad. Come inside to see how much this costs. I come back in and with some discounts it is $367.00 to replace both (two) sensors it is recommended to do so since one is gone the other will soon. Ok makes sense I am thinking and with some calculations 556+367 I am closely approaching his majesty of $1000.00.I am thinking, thinking and accepting this fair offer and agreeing to drop off my van in the morning for confirmed bad O2 sensors replacement.Are we done yet?Well we are close.In the morning I dropped my van and expecting phone call by noon as already discussed this in person. Also I was told at the counter(always the same salesperson)no need to go with more expensive sensors since other one he recommended is same quality as the other one.I would save $40.00 for two sensors. I accepted and thanked him for the help.Now, we are close to the closing hours, no phone call.I have scheduled work tomorrow, I need my van. I called and was transfered to my advisor and he says: your cylinder#6 is dead you do not owe me anything problem is inside the engine, we can not help youW H A T in the world has just happened?It is process of elimination, I know, and they just eliminated one potentially very good customer.So $556.00 total out of pocket without time loss, stress and feeling of betrayal still with the same problem.I came to get my van, asked him kindly, not to do this to the next person down the road.This is exact and precise reason why todays America is going down the hill and we really should worry about future of this country and our kids.This is NOT America where in God we Trust!

We have been dealing with Avenue garage for the past 5 years. Weve always dealt with Kevin and he has been more than upfront with us and our car. Its a 2005 Mercedes Benz and he knows we dont want to put a ton of money into it.. Went to Avenue Garage Inc the first time this past week. The place is tucked way back in the corner of a very small Street. The garage looks like any other mechanics garage except, that it is surrounded by high profile, very expensive foreign and domestic cars. However, what sets this garage apart from all the rest that Ive ever done business with is there customer service. I spoke with Kevin when I arrived. he explained in detail the process of which there were going to take with my car and I would get a phone call before any work was done. He kept his word. Explained what needed to be done and gave me different options on all of it. not once did I feel like he was trying to up the price or to do something that didnt necessarily need to be done. He was courteous, he was extremely knowledgeable and I will never take my car anywhere else as long as I live in Port Charlotte thats for sure. Thanks again to Kevin and his staff, your awesome!J

At the advice of my business partner, I took my 2014 Mercedes to Avenue Garage to resolve an issue with my brakes (turned out to be bad sensors). I anticipated it being down for the week before I even called. I was told they wouldnt be able to finish it that day but itd be completed that week... I received a call the next day it was done and for a more than reasonable price!

Fixed my car after dealer and 3 other places told me it was something else also found a secondary air hose disconnected. No issue with starting car after getting gas now. I have other issues to be repaired and will return!The staff is awesome told me what to do till I got my car in and it worked. These guys are able to take care of the best (most expensive) of cars, but also take the time and courtesy to take care of my little (cheaper :) car as well. My BMW was surging and not running right and I paid $94 for them to “diagnose” it and it was a misfire in cylinder 4 because a coil was not in all the way and they told me my car was fixed, I also had a wheel speed sensor go bad but that was unrelated to why I brought my car in but I told them I’ll fix that myself. I called in a few days later because my car was still not running right after they “fixed” it and they want to charge me again even tho they said it was fine and they fixed it but really they never did other than push that coil in which only helped a little bit but didn’t get rid of the problem I brought it in for. The guy on the phone was also rude and not very helpful in understanding my view. I will never be coming back to this shop again, I _had_ high hopes about this place due to some family friends who have been going here for years telling me how nice it is, but even they were shocked to hear what happened.(REPLY) No nothing was performed by any other shop. The wheel speed sensor was changed by me, that had nothing to do why I brought the car there. I got that sorted out now. That’s out of the question, I am concerned about the engine that’s running rough that you were supposed to diagnose and fix when I brought it in the first time...

Best around ONLY company I trust with my vehicles. Been going there for years. They dont rip people off which is so hard to find in mechanics these days. You wont be disappointed.

Highly recommend Avenue Garage. I have found them to be knowledgeable and honest. They are half the price of dealerships and I have always been happy with their work and prices. They are know for their work on imported luxury cars, I now travel there to have my car serviced, I had moved and learned that they are worth the trip.

Fast service but expensive labor.

These guys stand behind their work. Had a 12 year-old Honda A/C go out. They fixed it for a competitive price. A year later, the replacement dies - they replaced it without charge. Another year later, the third died. Theyre no fools - they tried to find a different brand, albeit unsuccessfully. They didnt charge. Although Ill worry about that A/C unit from the manufacturers perspective, Rob at Avenue Garage has been great.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I brought my car in on Friday 11/6 and everything went well. But when it came time to pay the machine was not working. I watched the mechanic run it 5 times before he tried another machine, which finally worked. After that I get home and I had multiple charge from the business. They were of course closed by that point. I called my bank and they cancelled the charges. WELL come Monday they have charged me now almost $1000 to fix a simple blower motor in my Nissan. I called and the man I spoke to said he couldnt see anything BUT take a picture and send it in and they will see what they can do. Meanwhile after they tied up all my money now they keep charging it again and I get hit with a $36 overdraft fee this is the third one. This is the worst customer service I have every received. They are thieves and I went thru my bank AGAIN to get all of the charges. Removed. I will never bring my car there AGAIN.. NOR will I refer anyone to this business. I cant respect a company that does not stand behind their careless mistakes. GOOD LUCK!

Good job on my Ferrari. They did a front end alignment and mounted all 4 of my custom tires and wheels.

Literally a 30 second phone call convinced me NOT to go there ever. Asked about a simple procedure requiring a specific OBDII hookup. I just asked if they have the necessary software to access tho computer on my vehicle to which they replied the procedure could not be done. As the guy on the phone spoke and told me it was impossible I had the factory print out from the dealer in my left hand on how to perform the procedure.

Excellent service at a reasonable price. This is an extremely busy shop that does not sacrifice quality service. I brought my Acura NSX here because other shops are scared to touch it. The owner Kirk worked on it himself and saved me a lot of money fixing a part himself instead of having me buy a new one. The shop to go to especially if you have a high end car.

We took our car there for an estimate and left it. They called to say the necessary work would be $1100. We said we would come and pick it up rather than pay this amount for something we felt should be much less in cost. When we picked it up; they charged us $95 to fix hoses. We also had a hole drilled in the valve cover that was never there before.NEVER AGAIN!!!

Shop buys used parts off ebay to service cars, then returns hacked items to the ebay seller under the ebay guarantee. Great for the Avenue Garage bottom line, but youre getting mystery components and the shop is violating ebay policies and people are losing money. Just a forewarning of some of the practices that are going on here. I might remind you that I listed the part as-is, as I didnt have a way to test it, nor did I try to imply that a 25 year old electronic dashboard was working. I wouldnt have considered your situation if you plugged it in, tested it, and returned it in the same condition.. When you manipulated/disassembled the part and the part I marked prior to shipment isnt returned with that mark...then Im not dealing with what I sent you originally, and I do have a problem with that. I followed-up with Ebay and they ultimately refunded my purchase as a courtesy, since they saw what was returned wasnt the same item that was shipped.
