Now I know why Spa Works has so many 5-stars reviews. Kari went beyond my expectations and was very fair and competitive prices for his excellent service today on our hot tub. I would definitely use his help again without hesitation and would definitely refer him to anyone needing hot tub service. So this was what happened...We moved into our current home around two years ago, and it came with a 2008 Master Spa - Down East hot tub. My wife and I have never owned a hot tub before and so not very experienced with maintaining the water. After using it like five time more than a year ago, with the last time my wife and kids all got some kind of skin rashes afterward, I was hesitant to use it in case I screwed up with the water balancing and sanitizing. Since then, I would turn on the spa for half hour every other week after dumping 3-4 spoons of chlorine granules into the hot tub to keep the gross stuff from growing. With the COVID-19 shelter in place, my wife and kids kept on nagging that they’d like to jump into the hot tub again. So last weekend, I went to turn on the tub. It went through the initiation start showing 5 different numbers and then immediately gave a OHH code for overheating. The water was in the 50’s and the spa heater didn’t even started yet. So it’s definitely not overheating as the error code implies. I flushed the water hose down the filter inlet and outlet in case there were air traps, and also checked the resistance of the two heater sensors that gave indication there wasn’t any issue with the sensors. Everything pointed to a bad control circuit board.Searching on Yelp, Spa Works caught my attention immediately from the great reviews. I called on Monday morning, and Kari picked up the phone immediately. I gave him a synopsis of what I observed and what I tried, and was surprised that Kari immediately offered several possible solutions to try out myself first at home. Unfortunately none of what he suggested on the phone resolved the OHH error, and so I called Kari back for an in-person appointment for the coming Wed.On Wed, Kari called to confirm his appointment before he arrived and came right on the agreed time. He patiently assessed the situations, took time to explain to me and narrow down the potential root causes one by one, and expertly and finally pinpoint that it has to be the circuit board. Since this is an expensive component, he even went over and double checked again that it wasn’t other less expensive components causing the error code. Finally, he also called another hot tub peer who is very knowledgeable about the spa model and circuit board to double check he wasn’t wrong. After seeing what he did to assess the issue, I was pretty confident he is correct. I went ahead with a deposit so that he can order the circuit board and have it shipped in time for our follow up appointment two days later on Friday.Friday came, and again Kari reached out to confirm our appointment time and arrived right on time. He quickly swapped out the old board for the new, and everything worked again! He even discovered that my original board’s dip switch was incorrectly set to turn off the spa heater whenever any jet is turned on (which you don’t want since it’ll quickly cool down the water during usage). He also made sure that all the pipe attachments were screwed in tightly, which a lot of them came loose after years of use. I also had a great time chatting with him about various topics during his work, and he never hesitated to share his best practices to make sure I maintain the hot tub water more accurately after. That was pretty cool of him to spend his time to do so! Thank you, Kari!

Kari fixed my 2001 Vita spa- which I was told was not fixable by another pool/spa company. Keri was very prompt about returning my call and on time for the repair appointment and returned the next day to install the needed part - all at a reasonable price. If you have a spa thats not working - call Kari at spa works!

Excellent. After a few services refusing to work on parts we ordered, and my friend trying to fix things the wrong way, he comes, found the problem (rotten out heater), fixed it and fixed all we did the wrong way, all in 1 hour. Looks as he has a great experience and intuition. He even come before official hours, as he lived in 10 minutes from me, so I did not need to wait few weeks.

Spa works repair to the rescue. Kari quickly diagnosed the problem...a defective Lang circulation pump. Helped me order it...and installed it the day after it arrived. Could not have asked for better service. Why did i call Spa Works Repair:I purchased a top of the line artesian island spa at the alameda county fair in the summer of 2015. Amazingly I found there were no Artesian warranty servicers in the Bay area. Napa, Sacramento were the closest.Within 2 months the spa failed to start up.At that time I was in conflict with the dealer, Hot Tub Super Center, over there incompetent installation and subsequent decision to charge for a visit. The Nevada company, Artesian, was unable to provide another resource and would not honor its warranty.
