One of the worst apartments I’ve ever lived in service is bad, they charge for parking and you can’t find any place to park at all!!!! I got 2 parking tickets this month cuz I’ve been parking in the fire lane I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO LIVE HERE OR YOU GONNA GET a lot OF PARKING TICKETS, also they never clean the pools and a lot of crimes here.
Been here for about 18 months and haven’t had any issues. The front office staff, specifically Yeiny Gonzalez and Tracy Thomas always make sure my concerns are heard and handled quickly. Special shout out to Yeiny for finding my dog when she got lost and making sure she was taken care of until we could be reunited!
Hello! legacy! I just left your office, I am glad you responded! you made me aware that you understand that there is a parking issue. You made it very clear, that you understand there is a parking issue Yet, would not let your wonderful employees (they were sweet and understanding), give me a letter stating the parking problem. I just want to know, should i post all the pictures of the parking issue here? For the many residents that have receive tickets.....because you guys mention that you understand there is problem, but wont fix it. okay.... lets keep the conversation goin, since youre now
Run AWAY!!!!! I would give negative if I CAN. They would leave your maintenance service for 3 weeks alone even if you keep calling!! They would closed your request even no one really came with any solution!! They would sneakily add some service charge to your rent even you never really applied for the service!! And if you find that and ask them to remove the ridiculous fee, they will have no response or no action indeed! I never had worse experience than this apt. Dont be cheated by this location.
Location is great and that’s about it. If I could give a negative star I would. I lived here for two years and the management and leasing office were not helpful at all and have just gotten worse over time. There is no communication from them at all and they’re so unresponsive. When trying to get someone on the phone or to answer an email who can actually assist you it takes weeks and most times still doesn’t get resolved - might be successful if you walk yourself into the office and demand something is done. Im glad I got out of here - I would not recommend living here.
I’ve never had a perfect move in experience ever. This place was no exception. However where they are exceptional is taking care of business once you’re in the door. Work orders handled promptly and the maintenance and leasing teams are exceptionally friendly. I don’t get upset easily at minor issues usually though. The sq ft and floor plan of the unit we rented is good value for the money spent and I would recommend it here without question. Proximity to transit if needed is good, and walking distance to shops/restaurants is great. Don’t let a few bumps detour you from a hidden gem.
Have been resident for almost 3 yrs. Have met awesome neighbors and pets. And with every life event. Management and property staff have been there to assist or explain anything needed.
07/10/21 Why does the fire alarm go off in the LE building every weekend? This has been an issue for weeks and nobody addresses it.07/20/21 Since posting this review the complex now emails me once the alarm goes off. It had still gone off each weekend. Multiple times this weekend. This is no way to live. Good luck raising kids with the alarm going off reliably in the evening time.
Ive lived here for 2 years. Ive tolerated the parking and the trash in the hallways. My rent was 1499, with utilities it was closer to 1580. My second year, rent was only increased by 22.00, thats it. So my rent was 1521.00. I received my renewal letter via email and the rent increase was 21% at 1890.00.Yesterday I visited the leasing office and was informed that the property is catching units up to market value as the reason for the increase. I am filing a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office as well as my congressperson Van Taylor regarding the price gauging UDR intends to implement on its current tenants to recoup losses that occurred during the current pandemic. I am also urging fellow residents who fall victim to this abuse to do the same. When I informed the leasing agent of my original rent upon moving to Legacy Village only 2 years ago, she laughed in my face. My 6 year old daughter was with me. If a child facing homelessness is funny to your employees as well, I believe this should be reported and addressed.§17.46(b) of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act provides that it is a false, misleading or deceptive act or practice to take advantage of a disaster declared by the Governor under Chapter 418, Government Code, or the President by:Selling or leasing fuel, food, medicine, lodging, building materials, construction tools, or another necessity at an exorbitant or excessive price;orDemanding an exorbitant or excessive price in connection with the sale or lease of fuel, food, medicine, lodging, building materials, construction tools, or another necessity. Please note that high prices alone do not mean that price gouging has taken place, as businesses are generally allowed to determine the prices for their products. However, if a disaster has been declared by the Governor of Texas or the President, and businesses raise the price of their products to exorbitant or excessive rates to take advantage of the disaster declaration, then it is quite likely that price gouging is taking place, and you should file a complaint with our office concerning the incident.File a Consumer Complaint with our office to report a suspected price gouging incident.
The safety of this apartment complex has really dropped off. 1. Parking garage arm is routinely broken 2. Doors propped open all night and all weekend 3. Thefts from garage (probably doesn’t help the arm is broken) 4. No video surveillance in elevators. The only good thing are the guys who respond to your maintenance requests.
Things have been going downhill ever since Hillarie left and Sofia arrived. I have sent emails a month ago about various topics that were never responded to. Voicemails and leaving messages are also unreturned. Just bad management. You never know what you got until its gone.
Nice and calm place to live, package locker available you can pick up anytime. The property always clean and neat,Restaurants, ice cream shop, ups, grocery shop are in walking distance
We chose these apartments because of square footage and proximity to shopping areas, highways, etc. However, I wish we had spent more time reading reviews and looking at other apartments in the area - I would definitely NOT sign a lease here again. My husband and I had to move to another city due to our jobs shortly after signing our lease and consequently had to terminate our lease early. We only ever had a few small moving boxes in our apartment, never moved in furniture, and never lived in the apartment (we never even spent an entire day at the apartment). I took photos and videos of the apartment during our tour and upon move-out as well. At the beginning of our lease, the apartment was not in move-in condition. There were broken panels/slats from the vertical blinds that were laying in the floor when we toured, and whenever we gained access to our apartment the panels were still broken on the floor. There were several other items that needed repair that were overlooked before we moved in. I noted these on our Inventory & Condition form when our lease first began. However, upon move-out we were charged for the broken panels - damage we weren’t even responsible for, as they were broken during our tour BEFORE we even signed a lease. Had someone properly inspected the apartment before our lease start/move-in date, the preexisting damage should have been noted and not attributed to our lease.Additionally, we were charged for not having liability insurance even though I had emailed proof of current liability insurance to their office at the beginning of our lease. Their business manager did remove this charge, but only after I brought it to her attention and forwarded her the email as proof. Had I not carefully reviewed our itemized bill, I wouldn’t have caught this. They never accepted responsibility or acknowledged their mistake for the billing error for liability insurance or for the false charge for the broken panels/slats.After terminating our lease, we received an additional bill for carpet cleaning - for “traffic patterns and stains.” We never lived in the apartment and there was no damage to the carpets, so I sent the business manager photos and a video of the apartment carpets upon move-out where it is clear there were no stains or any sort of damage. In response, I was sent photos from the move-out inspection that a staff member performed two days after our move-out and I received no explanation of the alleged damages. In the photos, there is no apparent damage to the carpets. Despite having photos showing there is no damage to the carpets, the fee for carpet cleaning has still not been waived. The business manager cited the lease, saying that we agreed to carpet cleaning charges required after move-out. However, the lease only states that tenants will be liable for damage beyond normal wear (traffic patterns are normal wear) - not just any carpet cleaning charges or routine maintenance that they want previous tenants to absorb the cost of. Also, it is suspect that the carpet cleaning company the apartment complex (located in Plano, Texas) uses is almost 40 miles away out of town in Grand Prairie, Texas with only 2 google reviews (one of which is from a family member of the carpet cleaning company’s owner). The made-up damages upon move out are an opportunistic money grab and it seems that we are not the first tenants who have experienced this. There are so many other apartment complexes in the area that are more updated and better maintained than Legacy Village Apartment Homes. Save yourself the trouble of being scammed and look elsewhere for an apartment.
An honest review from a resident and a Leasing Professional:Im not usually one to give reviews but being in the multifamily industry myself, I have to comment on the staff in the office.Keep in mind I havent even moved here yet, but I feel so excited to make this my home thanks to Jesse and the other wonderful staff in the office. The team always answers the phone which is impressive considering my office cant even get to every call. Jesse doesnt even work at this office full time, and has been consistent and has provided the best customer service anyways. The location is beautiful there really isnt anything else to say on that if you know the Legacy West area haha. Now addressing the negative reviews, you have to keep in mind that these prices are AMAZING considering the market value of the location. I havent seen a single review about a pest issue, which really is the biggest concern you should have living in a multifamily community.Leaks, A/C going out, etc are all part of the experience. If you cant handle that, I suggest renting a home because the foundation shifts in large buildings lead to worse wear and tear than you would think. All in all, the staff has already impressed me and I am ready to deal with whatever typical apartment issues pop up because the community is beautiful and I am happy with my choice :-)
Happy to have finally moved out. The amenities in the area are all but gone with most of the shops and restaurants closing. It seems to me the apartments are a bit pricey for being outdated. I was surprised at how much crime has increased since I moved in 15 months ago. The biggest reason for my 1 star review is roaches. I placed several service calls that were unable to fix the problem. Pictures are included plus a bonus picture of the trash room. I wouldn’t recommend anyone moving here.
Very nice and big community that will make you feel like you’re home. Move in was easy, and the area is really great. I’m very happy with the decision to move here!
The only reason I’m updating my review is because Hilarie, the manager, was prompt with all issues that arose for my move out.Yes, there are issues living here as the other reviews state but Hilarie changed a horrible situation into a better one immediately. I think a lot of the complaints are corporate level and not in the hands of on site management. Thanks Hilarie for everything.
Peaceful, quiet apartments with great location next to the Shops at Legacy. The clubhouse and pools were very niceLack of parking was the biggest downside of these units. If you work from home or a 9-5 it shouldnt be an issue for you though
Good quiet place. The only thing that bothers me is the revving of the cars. Of course some construction, but other then that it’s good. :)
Like living in a sewer. I live near a garage that has putrid smelling dumpsters. Seems they haven’t been given even a rinse in many years. Smell is fowl. Front office staff took my complaint and nothing was acted on.
Hilarie and David are awesome! They are always there to help.
As everyone knows we went through one of the coldest winters this state has ever seen. I hope everyone made it out okay. With that being said there has been an alarm that constantly beeps in the communication room right outside of my apartment in building J since Monday February 15th. All maintenance did was silence the alarm and not actually resolve whatever issue is causing this alarm to sound.. I’ve left messages and have talked to Thomas. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE TODAY ON 3/17.
Scammers!!!! Charged me a full months rent and sent me to collection after I gave my move out notice. The location is great, but the greediness of this apartment complex is beyond me. Especially during the time of Covid .
I was able to coordinate a quick move in with the assistance of the Legacy Village property management team. The team turned a stressful move into an all inclusive experience with quick responses and professionalism. Legacy Village has access to everything for a comfortable transition to Plano, Tx. Thank you Hilarie and Thomas with Legacy Village for all of your hard work.
The gate at the LA building is always broken, allowing anyone to drive in. The door leading from the garage to the elevator is never secured. Anyone can walk right in by bumping it with their hip. A couple of people were robbed in LA garage over my 14 month lease. 2 people were shot at the building by the 5 story garage. 2 cars were broken into at the Aqua building. Parking is a joke. Elevator was out of service 3 separate occasions, one of those instances, it was out for over a month. Literally, anyone can walk into their pool during the summer. The apartment is mediocre, they’re fairly cheap for the area but you get what you pay for. Upon move out they will tell you they couldn’t clean the carpet and charge you for carpet replacement, and get this, exterior paint of front door. These two things along with countertops seems to be a pattern according to other reviews I’ve see. Pay an extra $50-$150 and move somewhere else.
Ive had a wonderful experience living at Legacy Village for the last year and a half. The leasing & management team is welcoming, friendly and helpful. Maintenance requests are responded to very quickly. Location is awesome! I highly recommend this complex.
I’m not a fan of leaving negative reviews. I usually leave my dissatisfactions to my friends and family. However, living there for a year my apartment was 70% humidity the walls were always wet, mirrors always fogged. Constant smell of weed. I tried to talk to management and they explained the humidity wasn’t an issue. After 6 months of living in a wet environment I moved out. Still being forced to pay the rent I no longer lived there. After moving out they sent me a bill for $5470 for “move out costs” mind I took everything out. Currently getting a lawyer to sort this out. $5000 out of my pocket for them to update the out dated apartment. Please don’t move in here. A lot better options around the area.
Well I just moved in and I come home to realize maintenance left my door unlocked for 8 hours, with no note or anything to tell me why they even came in. I even have proof on the app that they left it unlocked. NOT A GOOD START and this REALLY concerns me.
Don’t try this. They will charge you unnecessarily with bills at end. Even they don’t post the charges on the account they will charge you fines.Having many issues in the house it self.1. Internet issue.2. AC unit is not working.3. No pest control but they will charge you.4. Service request will take time.5. Take money from you pocket if you don’t keep eye what and why are going to charge.6. Won’t give your answer at front desk.We cleaned the apartment fully and took photos and there are no carpet stain and they charged me too much for that. Even after presenting the photos they are not lessening what I am saying and representing. In response I got phots attached in pdf which says “issue” but No explanation.Charged us reletting fee even after buyout fee. When I ask reason they told me I didn’t pay the amount on time and as per term I need to pay in 15 days of notice and actually they tricked they didn’t put the charges till you leave and then are trying to make you pay 85 % of your rent.Highly recommend near by community Post Legacy. Far better then this.
Value for money, the place is peaceful and safe. Very professional staff and 100% satisfaction with the maintenance services. Highly recommended.
Didn’t have any problems living here but when we moved out they billed us $80 two months later for carpet cleaning. We had wood throughout the whole apartment besides our bedroom. We only lived here for 5 months and NEVER wore our shoes on the carpet because I’m a clean freak. We left the place spotless and no stains on the carpet. When I asked for pictures of evidence for the stains they never responded and just kept emailing me the bill. Very unresponsive and unprofessional. They just want money.
Legacy Village Apartment Homes was by far the worst apartment complex I have ever dealt with, and I truly regret signing a lease with them. I experienced so many issues it will be difficult to even list them all here; Appliances constantly breaking, water damage and leaks on walls and ceilings that they attempted to cover up with paint, terrible package and mail systems (lost and stolen packages constantly), dirty hallways and common areas, horrible parking situation that you must pay for, consistently poor communication and clarity from leasing office, swimming pools that cause sicknesses, cockroaches EVERYWHERE, trash in yard, extra charges upon move out for issues that were not caused by myself, etc.If you are looking for an apartment in this area I would recommend looking into Post Legacy or Legacy North complexes as these are in the same area and appear to be much better options that settling with Legacy Village.
My AC has been broken 7 times in less than a year...yes, your read that right. 7 TIMES.I am still giving 3-stars because the location is FANTASTIC location, and walking to the shops is wonderful. However, the issues with my AC have put a damper on my attitude towards the overall experience. The parking is terrible, and you often have to walk very very far. When it is nice outside this isnt too bad...but when the weather is bad (or if you have groceries) it can be frustrating.
Bad Experiences & Bad Product. On-site property management does not treat residents equally & fairly.Maintenance is always top notch and the District Property Manager is very knowledgeable, professional and helpful.I gave 1 star for the location.
Parking is awful, towing is overzealous, and the maintenance is always backlogged.
I lived here for 6 months and it was my first apartment. The only issue I had was when I was preparing to move here, one of the office people told me to turn my electricity on a couple of day before I move in (my lease technically started 2 weeks before I officially moved in). 2 months after moving in, I had to pay legacy village for electricity and my electricity company because the day my lease started, the electricity was my technically my responsibility when my lease date started even though I hadnt moved in. Lesson learned. The pools were very nice but the door lock was always broken to get into the main one. There would be alot of loud music played there so if you are a quiet person dont get an apartment near the pool. I never had a bug problem and i never had any packages stolen and was not charged any crazy fees after moving out. I would move back but I was kind of bored because there werent many young black people in this area.
I’ve been here since October and overall my experience hasn’t been that great. This place isn’t maintained. Passageways are dirty and paint is in horrible condition. Elevators hardly work and when they do they are super filthy. Just the other day there was spilt food on the sidewalk and when I went to take the trash out today the room was filled!Getting a hold of the managers isn’t easy at all. You’ll get the runaround before you actually get your concerns addressed.
Ask me what i like about this place will be a shorter answer! Noisy, bedbug issues, walls are thin as paper, you can hear each neighbor. Hard to reach on phone. Dont be fooled by rental deals. I gave them one star because the location is good.
Staff is very attentive and responsive.
I rarely write reviews, but I must for this apartment complex. From Day 1, I have had nothing but great experiences with Legacy Village Apartment Homes. I must give a shout out to Lauren for being SIMPLY PHENOMENAL! I signed my lease with her because she was personable, friendly, and a spark of energy! This was back in 2018 and till this day I go to her for EVERYTHING! Now, I did have a shower issue, but like most natural things that happen it can be fixed. It was fixed by the maintenance staff immediately. Also, there was a time where my bill and another apartments bills were getting switched up, but they did eventually get it worked out. The leasing office staff are always friendly and will do everything in their power to help!I am enjoying staying here honestly. I have not seen any rodents/bugs, I have not had any issues with security, nor have I had any appliance issues. I say if you want to have a quiet, dog-friendly apartment complex....you should stop by and go see my girl Lauren! Thank you Legacy Village for continuing to be great during my stay! -Damian
Had a virtual tour scheduled yet no one even contacted me. After countless times of calling I always get the answering service taking messages it is impossible to reach an on site leasing representative. I will definitely not sign a lease with this place. What a joke !
Great place to live if you value diversity. Residents from all over the world make this a great place to immerse yourself in a multitude of cultures. In addition anything you could possibly need is in walking distance.
Im a current tenant and cant wait for my lease to be up. I would not recommend ever leasing here. You pay a lot for nothing in return. If you have a service call except to call them several times and maybe, just maybe after a month or more they will come look at it. Weve had problems with the sinks constantly and weve now been dealing with our frigde freezing everything for months! I pay over $1,100 for a tiny apartment and cant even keep eggs, milk or anything fresh. Parking is a nightmare! We pay for garage parking and 1/2 the time we cant park in our garage because of the non paying people. The gate is always broken, and they wont fix it. Ive seen maintenance just pass by it everyday and do nothing. People block you in, parking in the drive not even a parking spaces, parking illegaly in the handicap parking, fire lines, anywhere. After months of complaining we gave up. Management does absolutely nothing!!!! The towing company says the apartment wont let them tow. I hate living here, and am telling everyone to please look elsewhere. This place is awful!!! Thats not to mention all the drug dealers, and constant fighting we hear, and loud neighbor noises at all hours of the night. Ive seen the cops called here more than anywhere Ive ever lived. You wouldnt think so in such a nice area, but if you decide to rent here, youve been warned! Again I would not recommend this place to anyone!
Rats in the wall - elevators dont work people get stuck in them all the time - staff doesnt help you - someone was MURDERED in the parking garage and will not update security. This place is all flash and no substance. Overpriced and unresponsive.
We really do love this place... We’ve been living here for about 6 months and have been having a great time. A few things that come to mind are the parking situation and the package lockers. There are not enough package lockers so especially during this pandemic when everyone is ordering online, the packages tend to just get left on the floor and I have had a few packages stolen because of that.In addition the parking situation is terrible. There are not enough spots for everyone to park so people park in handicap spots (which is terrible and if you do this go to hell), in the fire lanes or they park directly behind you blocking you into the space. It’s awful and it’s the only thing I would really change about this community.
Never live in this place, besides the cleaning is horrible and the elevators dont work in a few days and you need to go up 4 floors with your purchases, besides the office people never solve anything, they are screwing up for the residents, and when you decide leave this place they just say that everything is ok and even say the amount to be paid, and soon after they start threatening you with messages saying that if you dont get paid on the exact day they want, this bill will be double, they are terrible, you have the date of payment and the amount to be paid, but they do not respect that. Not to mention that my furniture was new I got married and moved there with all the furniture arriving from the store, and in a few days my bed is infested with bed bugs, so I went to the office to give them a new bed and they said I couldnt do anything, I had to throw the bed that cost 800 dollars in the trash, and I used a month. The coordinator is a terrible administrator.
Rundown apartments. Cracks in wall, dirty hallways with chirped paint, bad customer service, overpriced for the poor quality of living.
Horrible complex. No parking. Hard to get in touch with management. You will be towed at least once if you live here, even if you pay for a parking sticker. I have been stuck in the elevator in my building, no apology of any kind. The elevator frequently breaks. I distinctly remember once a gentle in a wheelchair had to buy a hotel room because our elevator was broken, he seemed so disappointed. I have been at this complex for a long time, but have absolutely nothing good to say about my experience.I suggest if you visit the leasing office to learn more, ask a resident and see what they have to say. I promise it will not be encouraging.
When leaving they will bill you for normal wear and tear as much as possible because they know they can get away with it. I was left with a 345$ bill after we spent days cleaning the apartment. 80$ for carpet cleaning. 80$ for general cleaning. 135$ for Countertop Repair when that countertop was exactly like when we moved it. and 50$ for door paint. We never did anything to that door. They put up very bright decorative lights outside my window. They blink brightly throughout the night illuminating my entire apartment making sleep nearly impossible. When I tried using the community portal to ask if it bothered anyone else they denied my posting. When I complained they told me to buy thicker curtains. Edit: they did eventually turn them offThe parking is awful. If you come after 7 theres a good chance you will have to walk very far to your home.Lots of cars in the parking garage have scratches where they brushed up against the pillars next to parking spaces. If you have a visitor you must beg for a visitor pass or they will be towed. The elevator in building 6 often does not work. Its not uncommon for you to take your baby downstairs in the stroller in the elevator, only to come back from a walk and it not work so you have to carry the stroller up the stairs. If you are on the 4th floor life is really hard. The office staff are very rude and condescending. They take joy out of telling you no if you have a simple request. Complaints? No one to complain to. No integrity. They dont answer their phone. You usually only connect with someone if you continue to call several times in a row and tell the answering machine that you will continue calling until someone answers. The break lease fee is 2 months rent. when asked for help spreading out the payments they will smile as they tell you no and you must have the break lease fee within 15 days of your 30 days notice and then your next months rent. No exceptions period. The company is heartless, relentless in their cruel their behavior. The location is good but the devils in the details. If you care about yourself, your family, and your future, you will find another place to live.
The whole staff so far have been awesome, understanding, responsive, efficient. Had a minor plumbing issue... Submitted claim on the app and made a call to the office to confirm it. Fixed within a couple hours.
Save yourself the stress and don’t even think about this place. Management doesn’t care about anyone who lives here and you will get stuck with a huge bill for unnecessary things upon move out. They talk about how safe they are but the doors are always broken so anyone can get into the building. If you talk to Victoria make sure everything she tells you is in writing because she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. This place is not worth it!!
So happy to call Legacy Village my home. They actually care about their tenants. Its a great place to live just minutes away from the shops and a few more from Legacy West.
Choose wisely…
When I moved from here their billing department made an error. Instead of doing whats right and owning their mistake by absorbing the cost. They forced the cost of their billing error on me. I can only imagine what they said to the other resident.
The team at Legacy Village worked very hard to make my transfer from one unit to another go smoothly. I was a little nervous waiting for the approval of my new apartment while my wonderful apartment was up for grabs. Id have never left my cute little one bed unless it was for something better. Well something awesome came along. Im super happy at LV.
UPDATE: If I could give zero stars or negative stars I would. They will bill you to have carpet cleaned even after you do it yourself for traffic pattern removal. Charge a pet treatment after move out even if you have no pet. Try to charge you pro rated rent 6 weeks after you move out. Never once got to TALK to anybody - everything gone over email which was slow response time on their end. But sure quick to threaten to turn you in to collection agency. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE - GO ELSEWHEREVery sketchy business practices. Difficult to get consistant answers from corporate.and front office. People with short term lease needs (interns for college) BEWARE. Move out is an expensive nightmare
This complex is incredibly unprofessional. I tried emailing them all week for pricing and availability and never received a response. I decided to set up a tour in hopes of finally getting to talk to someone. I called them before the tour since I never got to choose which unit I wanted to view. I didnt get to speak with anyone until I had already arrived there, and they told me they didnt have any units that would work for me. It was a huge waste of time.
I stayed here one year, I really recommend it. Its a great location, staff is very helpful. My washer stopped working they replaced the whole machine very quickly. Every time I needed help, they were there. Only problem is the parking here considering the location.
I am posting this review in hopes that Jody Conley will see it and have someone come fix my A/C as I have been waiting for 2 days now for someone to come fix it (by the way, I have now submitted 6 maintenance requests for the same issue since April and it continues to break). I am hoping that we can get some professionals out here to fix the issue for good.I called the office yesterday to explain my issue and set up an appointment with the maintenance staff since I have a dog and understand that they cant enter if I am not present. Julie (Leasing Office Concierge) told me that my A/C probably isnt even broken but that she would submit a request for me. She told me that I needed to call back today at 1 PM when the office opens so that I can schedule the appointment. I called promptly at 1 PM and Julie answered again. She told me that she just got there and had not even logged into her computer yet and needed to call me back when she was settled. I asked her when she was going to call me back and she started giving me an attitude (apparently I was really inconveniencing her). I asked her why she was getting an attitude with me and her reason was that I was repeating the same questions over and over again. She also told me that I needed to calm down. All I want is to know when the maintenance team will be arriving at my home so that I can be home when they arrive. Can someone help me please? While I am here, I can give you some pros and cons of living at Legacy Village Apartment Homes.Pros:- Location- Nice interior in the units- Friendly neighborsCons:- Rat/insect infestation- Office staff (never answers phone, condescending, disrespectful)- Poor grounds upkeepIf I could do it all over again, I would have taken these reviews seriously and not signed the lease.
I would have given negative rating...moving into these apartments was the dumbest thing I have ever done..people look for other options and do not move into these apartments..its been 3 months since I moved in and it was 2 times in these 3 months where these apartment people had shut down water for hours without notice...the leasing office do not answer calls..always having issues with water
I will try to as objective as possible. I seldom give places a 1 star rating due to one bad experience, but there’s been a string of issues in this place from the moment I moved in 5 months ago until now.To start off, I’ll mention some good things about this place. The area is nice and the neighbor is very safe. The apartments look new and modern from within. The prices are reasonable for the community and the modern interior. However, my biggest issue is how disorganized they are. First of all, my apartment had numerous issues prior to me moving in. Some issues include: lock replacement, toilet clogging, a broken tap, leaky faucets., bedroom fan and light did not work, living room lights were broken, etc. The office told me they were aware of the issues with my apartment, but they did not “have time to fix it.” So I was locked out of my apartment from the first day I moved in. I had to put in a work order, and when I called the office for them to send someone ASAP because I needed lighting, they rudely told me they’ll get to it when they can. They took nearly a week. The staff is exceptionally rude here compared to most apartments I’ve lived in. Service is not something I care much for, but the staff here is exceptionally rude and eager to tell you no to where it is a problem for me.Also, there is no parking after 9pm. NONE. So if you plan to work or stay out past 9, you will need a garage or reserved parking. Will not renew lease. Definitely do not recommend.
It has been a week since I moved in. I already submitted maintenance requests twice in this short time. You cannot trust all these reviews(or they have improved?) because I first submitted a request through the leasing office(you can do it online as well) and I ran into the maintenance guy on the way back to my apartment from leasing office and he said hes going to my apt. And the second time, he came on the same day as well. So far, not bad!
Similar to buying a boat. The two best best days are when you sign your lease under false pretenses and when you look forward to moving out.
Had to move out due to COVID and company laying me off. UDR and legacy village not very helpful in understanding the these UNPRECEDENTED circumstances. Now I’m footing a $3300 bill for getting laid off and having to move out. If you’re in the legacy area go across the street to legacy north or post legacy. A colleague of mine had the same situation as me and legacy north worked with him instead of crippling him with debt.
I lived here 10 years ago and chose to move back because I had a great experience with the staff and the many people I met through out the complex. Maintenance is always prompt and I always can reach someone in the office unlike other complexes in the area. It is clean and quite. Definitely recommend checking it out!!
So I lived here for 2 years...never had a pet in my apartment or lived in filth. I actually didn’t mind living here. Best thing about this complex is their maintenance and timeliness to fix an issue EXCEPT for moving out. The end ruined it for me. They charged me $250 for normal wear and tear on carpet, noting of “horrible pet stains” that were “yellow and black” ...let me mention again that there were no pets in the apartment, they would not let me dispute this and demanded their money. I refused because their paperwork and ‘3rd party evaluation’ was inconclusive with reality. They refused to respond to me in a timely matter, let alone at all. They are sticking to their story so now I am sticking to mine. I reported them to the BBB (report attached). Theses people are greedy and will go to ridiculous lengths to squeeze more money out of you. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
Great place to call home!! The staffing is great working with all incomes and makes a moving transition seem very smooth! Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to start and call home! Also having a 2 year old I care a lot about where I live and the home I’m in and this is a great place to raise a family!
Far from perfect:06/15/2021: Fire alarms going off in my apartment along with multiple others. This has happened before as well. We always have water pressure problems too. This is honestly the worst apartment Ive ever lived in, and also the most expensive.06/04/2021: Nobody ever answers the phone.10/27/20: management reached out and I feel a little better overall, however the points made are still very valid, and mistakes were made. The main thing Id warn new residents about at this time is parking, if you dont get a paid spot then you will at times spend 5 minutes or more finding a spot far away from your apartment.10/21/20: Lights in courtyard are off again. Legacy Village really doesnt care about safety. Contacting BBB.Update: 10/19:20: Lights in courtyard are finally fixed after about two months. Still no reply to email or discount since we pay for this view.Update: 10/18:20: Sent UDR an email to get the courtyard lights fixed, they should be giving all residents a discount as well, we pay for this view. Giving them a week before contacting BBB. Last email they didnt even reply. Nothing. No reply at all.Update 10/13/20: Recently they left a notice saying they will enter the apartment to check the fire system, thats fine and great, but they never entered. Days later now the smoke alarms are malfunctioning all around the building. Legacy Village now doesnt want me to sleep. I am not happy. Also lights in courtyard have been off at nights for months. People pay extra for this view. UDR doesnt care. Recently two people were unfortunately robbed in the parking garage by an armed burglar, they sent an email stating to let them know about any lights that dont work. I called and reported to a guy named Irving a week ago, nothing has changed. UDR doesnt care, safety doesnt matter here at Legacy Village!Pros:- Lovely landscaping!- Nice location, close to lake and shopping center.- Quick and friendly maintenance team.- The manager Hilarie gave me a call after posting the review and we had a good chat, she cared and spoke to me like a human and not just another apartment number.Cons:- You cannot have packages delivered here without anxiety. Packages are constantly lost/stolen and management have excuses but take no action such as hiring security or changing mailroom codes.- Parking is nearly impossible, this will give you anxiety as well.- Was promised a very nice parking spot but it somehow wasnt reserved. They reserved another thats ready two months later and provided 3 months free, but who knows if well actually get the parking spot.- For the price the inside feels cheap, wood stickers on cabinets that peel, cheap carpet.- Lots and lots of little issues before move in, feels like nobody really checked the place properly.- Too many service requests to count within the first few weeks, mostly little issues but for the price youd really expect something of higher standards.- UDR never replied to one email, staff are slow to reply in general- Walls are thin, prepare to hear your neighbors
Now that I’ve been here for a few months, I wanted to point out some of the issues I’ve had with the apartment. Some good as well.1. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything the neighbors are doing. If you are unlucky enough to have inconsiderate neighbors, you’ll be sleeping on their schedule, not your own. Invest in some earplugs though they won’t always help if the noise gets too loud.2. The water pressure in the shower is terrible. I’ve changed the shower head three times with very slight results. If you have thick, long hair, be prepared and have some patience when trying to wash it. It will take a while...3. The appliances are installed sloppily. The dishwasher is at an angle and is not flush with the counter. It catches my clothing if I’m not paying careful attention. Now for the good-1. Maintenance is quick to respond.2. Front office is helpful when we have questions.3. Apartment is nice but appliances are a bit mediocre (supposedly “new” kitchen faucet and dishwasher broke within the first month).4. I always find parking in the garage.5. Most of the neighbors are friendly and respectful.
My husband and I were very interested in moving into the property. They had a floor plan we were looking for, in our budget and in a great area. So I called to schedule an appointment, and the lady who I spoke to at the central leasing office was very rude when saying no appointments were available past 5 p.m.. So I tried the next best thing. I went online, and lo and behold Legacy Village has this great appointment scheduler where you can set the appointment up yourself. Thats when they showed that they had a 6 p.m. showing, which was perfect. So I scheduled the 6 p.m. Got the email confirmation that I scheduled the appointment, then not too long after I got another email confirming the appointment was on for 6 p.m.My husband and I got to the property at 5:35 p.m. When we went into the leasing office that was open until 7 p.m., we were greeted by the receptionist. We told them we had an appointment at 6 p.m. and they rudely told us that they dont do any showings after 5:30 p.m. The office had three people in there, and no one got up to help us, or to ask how we scheduled an appointment at 6 p.m. or tried to make things right. They just told us to come back. How is it that the central leasing office says showings go until 5 p.m., the actual leasing office says 5:30 p.m. and then online shows 6 p.m. Three different times.Awful customer service. We have zero interest in trying to go there. If they arent going to treat potential customers well, I can only imagine how they treat the people who actually live in the property.
I have lived in 2 different apartments at Legacy Village. The first one was a bit of a mess and in shambles when we moved in but as a college student at the time it was very nice. I never heard my neighbors above me. YES the parking was horrible BUT that goes for any major apartment complex in the middle of everything. I would much rather walk in the open then worry about walking around in a parking garage. I made many friends in the leasing office and the maintenance people were great and quick to respond. My next apartment was a cute one bedroom which was perfect for my dog and I. New appliances and even provided a washer and dryer for a very reasonable price. It is when the area started to grow that the price went up on me about $200 when I resigned which I thought was ridiculous of course. Ill make a comment about the hallways...people who smoke in the hallways are inconsiderate and disgusting people. Sometimes I could smell the smoke in my apartment mainly cause the doors and windows were not sealed well enough. The dog park was horrible and extremely unsafe but after 6 months of complaints to them they provided a beautiful safe new dog park (there was delay cause of weather) but it was awesome.I give them 3 stars cause I still believe there is much room for improvement but my overall experience was just as I had expected.
Beware of the re letting fee! I was supposed to move into this apartment complex in Aug 2018. At the last minute, I receive word of a family emergency. I had to move back to the east coast, quit my job, pack my things and drive 1400 mile to D.C. I came to the office and advised them of my move-in cancellation. All they told me was I am not getting my deposit back because of the short notice. I was fine with that. Here we are in October, I am getting blocked calls from this Denver, CO number. When I call them, Im on hold for 8 minutes and then the recording states the party is not answering the phone. Turns out I have a $728.00 re letting fee that is actually in collections as we speak. I called to speak with this Hillary lady in the office to ask her why I was not advised of this fee I would have to pay for cancelling my move in. She said I dont know why I did not tell you. Now I have to pay this fee thats in collections, I got no explanation from Hillary, and she gave me a smart behind reply saying what were you hoping to accomplish today by calling me. What kind of question is that you bone head. I dont care about not getting my 150.00 deposit back. I care about having to pay $721.00 re letting fee. It would have been paid by now lady if you would have told me 2 months ago. Now its in collections and its another bill added to my already stressed finances. Thanks for the sarcasm! Youve brightened my day. You could have just said I can understand how this has affected your life, I dropped the ball on giving you this information and this is a learning lesson for the both of us here. Im sorry. But I guess honesty and dignity is not too popular now a days. I will find a way to handle my responsibility with this $728.00. I will do my part. When will you start doing yours Hillary as the office move-in specialist???
I have lived here about six weeks and have been very happy so far. Management/office staff are very helpful and friendly. The leasing experience went quite smoothly. My apartment is very nice and was nearly spotless when I moved in. Its quiet here (very little neighbor noise and quiet around the building as well). I feel very safe and havent had trouble parking.
Change the management team and you will see a difference. Why have people in the office who are too hateful and lazy to actually care and get off their rear ends and... work?
The actual apartments are really sweet. However, the people in the front office need a new job ASAP lol They can’t ever get things resolved. Everyone in the front office can never figure anything out yet they still expect for you to keep up your end of any agreement. Hope the apartments can hire some new employees soon, these are trash
Resident for 2 years. Complex is well kept. Great area, walking distance from everything. Office staff is responsive and respectful.
Great apartments at a reasonable price. You really cant beat the area if you plan to live in the far northern suburbs. If all of the staff members were even half as helpful as Julie, and if the parking situation was better, this would be 5 stars. UDR, hire more people like Julie! She tells the truth and seems to care about the customers. I wish all of the other staff members had at least one of those traits. These apartments have loads of potential, they just need to remedy the management situation.
Legacy Village is a great place to live! Yes there are a few cons which I will list below, but overall I had a very positive experience living here. The staff was friendly and any issues I had were held with the utmost professionalism. David, one of the leasing agents, was amazing when I had an issue with a noisy neighbor. Julie, front desk, was one of the nicest people and always tried her best to rescue my lost packages. Hilarie, manager, was always responsive to emails and extremely polite and friendly.PROS:-Location! (Shops even give you a discount for living nearby!)-Maintenance Staff (friendly and waited no more than 72 hours for issues)-Gym/Pool very clean-Leasing staff was very friendly and handled all my issues as promptly as possible-Apartment itself was clean upon move-in (practically new!)-Lots of storage around the apartment and even built in shelves in the closet!CONS:-Parking was a huge issue. Couldnt park in my lost past 8pm any day of the week. Would recommend separate parking for visitors rather than bunching everyone in the same spot-Package Center has a lot of issues, but that really wasnt on the apartment so much as Amazon/UPS and shipping people-Pet Pickup was not well managed. Any time walked to the gym you could see piles and piles of feces from the owners with yards and in the public grass spots as well-Kitchen drawers are abnormally small, i.e cant fit a normal silverware organizer inside themOverall great place to live! Not perfect, but no place is. I was happy to have this apartment complex as a home for as long as I did and I will miss it very much! Mainly moved because I got a new job! :)
The apartments are very clean and very affordable.Loved the community around the apartments.
I scheduled an appointment for 3:00 to do a self guided tour. I walked in and everyone was busy. I stood there for 5 minutes and no one acknowledged me. When another person from another walked in, the lady at the front desk said, “I’ll be with you folks in a minute.” So of course that rubbed me the wrong way. Why wasn’t I acknowledged when I walked in?! So then I had to sit and wait. I sat until 3:20 without an apology for the wait, without them saying anything. Why make an appointment if someone else can go before you, not to mention it was self guided so I expected to get in and out. They need new staff. Everyone there looked as they they didn’t want to be there. Terrible customer service
We had a really rough start here. So many things that werent normal things you usually deal with upon move in. But in the end, the folks working with us have really pulled through. Now its just the normal issues youll have in apartment living but Julie and Hilarie are on it. They really go above and beyond to make you feel this is home and to help problem solve. Most people living here are really nice as well.
Run away!!! Never rent here! It is ridiculous that the apt has no package room and the service team do nothing!!
Great location with lots of places to visit around within walking distance. Kind of expensive. The complex looks nice. I havent had any bugs or rodents. More parking spaces and security measures would be great. The walls are kind of thin so you can sometimes hear music if turned up.
Need more grassy areas for my pups and better parking. But all in all great place to live. Will resign next September
Very satisfied with the move in process. Was super easy and I have to give the office staff the credit they deserve. They made sure that I was happy with my service and helped me out when I had some trouble with my clicker. Very clean and friendly environment. Special shoutout to Hilarie for reaching out personally and making sure my move in experience was everything I expected. As well as Lauren!
These apartments are good on the inside. I like the appliances and the maintenance are good and timely. However the office just sucks. They recently re sprayed the parking garage and gave them numbers but still no one has been assigned a number. Also, since the recent storms, everyone Parks in the garage and doesnt even have a parking pass and they do nothing about it. Really the only downside is parking and sometimes office due to cluelessness or they claim they dont know.!!update!! Still no assigned parking even though they told everyone that there was gonna be assigned parking in the garage. All there is alot of reserved spaces. The sprayed numbers on the ground mean nothing 😆😆😆
Ive only been at Legacy Village apartments for a week, but so far its been a great experience. The move-in was a breeze and Hilarie, the move-in specialist in the office, has been a delight and a big help. The apartment was clean when we moved in, and although I did put in a couple of service requests right away for minor things, they were completed within 2 days.We are in one of the buildings with a parking garage, and even if we cant find a spot on our floor when we come home late, there seem to be more than enough spots for everyone on higher floors, so its not a problem.Based on what Ive experienced this week, I would definitely recommend Legacy Village Apartments. Oh, and the rent is very reasonable, even though were on a short-term lease (only 3 months)!
For what you pay for, you honestly feel ripped off. Parking is horrible, good luck finding any, they constantly tow here, and their lot they have contracted is at 635 and 35, have fun with that if you get towed!! Getting visitor parking passes is a pain for your friends, so they have to try and fight for a non permit parking spot almost all the time. The elevators here sound like they want to collapse and break with you in them. Again, what you pay here, you would think something of decent value, not something that might break on you. Besides, taking the stairs is a much faster alternative than these lethargically slow pieces of junk. Have a maintenance request OTHER THAN a leaky pipe? Good luck!! Our dishwasher broke around the beginning of December and it took them about six weeks to get a new one. After a one year lease, they wanted to jack the rates up because (Id at least imagine) Toyota is getting ready to open up, so were saying to hell with that!! Save your money, its not worth it folks. You can find so much better out there not too far from here for the same price. Were moving not too far away, for the same cost were getting a garage, the complex is more quite, we over look a golf course, AND a bigger apartment.
I would not recommend living here. The only decent thing is the location- but definitely not worth it- or pay more to live at another complex in the area. The parking is horrible- I did learn to accept that and from reading reviews before moving here I did know that so that wasnt a surprise. But the actual management is what I had a problem with. When you go into the office they are more concerned with helping prospective residents than actually assisting their current residents. They need to have someone designated at the desk to be able to answer simple questions. The package delivery system does have its flaws. I signed up for the parcel lockers right when I moved in, but I still had packages lost several times, and still never found out where they went.Maintenance isnt the best- my fridge was constantly broken and leaked, had them fix it several times but it was never really fixed. And eventually gave up because when they did come by to do whatever they did all of my food would go bad because they would turn it off.***The biggest surprise to me was after I moved out, I received a bill for cleaning and carpet cleaning. I have never been charged a dime when moving out of an apartment complex- I keep my place pretty clean and have no pets. I spent hours cleaning it and definitely left it in better shape than when I moved in (it was pretty disgusting and dusty when I moved in). But yet they still charged me. When I gave my notice I even asked if I could have a walk through with someone to make sure I wouldnt be charged for anything, and they said no they dont do that and someone would be coming by to look at it before I moved it (they left me a note that they entered my apartment over a month before I moved out but didnt say anything about it so I assumed all was good). Considering they dont take care of the common spaces in the complex (the halls are filthy, the floors are disgusting, it smells, needs some paint, lots of cracks etc), and I had a neighbor break down their door one night and the office didnt fix it for weeks (super safe place to live....) charging me a cleaning fee is pretty hypocritical to me. But I guess thats how they are funding their leasing office renovation- once again proving they care more about getting new people in the complex than the actual people who live there.Even if you think you can look past most things and are a responsible person and clean and dont care about how the leasing office is because you think it wont matter, dont make the same mistake I did and move here. I have never had to write a negative review before, but I dont want you making the same mistake I did!(notice most people who are have written positive reviews still live there- wait until they get charged fees when they move out and see if they are still happy. I was overall okay with everything until I moved out as well)
I am apartment hunting and cannot get over the horrible reviews that the current and/or prior tenants have experienced. There should be no reason to lie if a lot of the experiences are similar. For these reasons, I will not be signing a lease at this complex. The star is for the honest viewers that has helped me on my apartment hunt. Thanks!
I have very much enjoyed living here (going on 3 years). Great location, but thats the easy part. The building has been consistently improving over the years with this past year being the best yet. Major improvements and $s spent on decorations, improved pool area, nice new gym equipment. With all this going on I got in the action.I asked if the apartment would mind helping me with a few renovations on some items that had become warn out with general use over 3 years and they were happy to help. My place looks new again.I have also always seen quick responses to any service issues from the service team, who are awesome and very accommodating to my wifes strange sleep schedule (night shifts from time to time).Great place and plan on staying here for another 3 years!
Vomit in stair case for 6 months. 4 requests to clean ignored. 3 office visits to where they did nothing. I finally just cleaned it up myself as it was disgusting to look at. Took me 15 minutes to clean up so I dont understand what was so hard for them. I guess the thought of having to put out an effort was the challenge. This has become a dump with staff that could care less.
We have lived here for a few months now. We have had nothing but problems with this place from the get go. Hilarie has been amazing in handling our issues with our upstairs neighbors, but there’s so many more problems than that. They insist the parking is an issue because of non residents, it’s a lie. They give out too many parking passes and not enough spots for them all. They refuse to tow residents who park three across and block people from being able to get into the parking lot. We had to park our vehicle (THAT HAS A PARKING PERMIT) at the parking garage at the shops due to no parking anywhere. Our car got towed this morning. We have a two week old son that we had to take to his two week appointment and we got towed because they refuse to do anything about their room parking. Now we are out $300 and our son missed his appointment. That was the car our car seats are all in for our 3 kids.Do NOT move in here. I don’t recommend it at all. It’s not worth the price. Paying $1800 a month and can’t even park our dang car in the parking lot. This doesn’t even touch on the 50+ other problems we have with this place.
The apartment is nice and safe. The rent is also good to compare to other nearby apartments. The biggest problem of the apartment is parking. And the front desk staffs and concierge are rude except David. I got bad experience with these staffs. They need to be trashed and hire new one.
Amazing amenities and location, but the good ends there. Parking sucks after 9PM, but that was to be expected when I moved in.Be careful of getting an apartment along the main road (Parkwood Blvd), as its very busy and loud. I stayed with a friend that lived along Parkwood and had to wear earplugs to fall asleep and stay asleep, and Im not a light sleeper.Biggest issue is the maintenance. I had 6 maintenance issues when I moved in....yes when I moved in. They included a shower tub that didnt drain, a dishwasher that didnt work, ice maker not working, rattling heating vent, 2 outlets that didnt work, and a plugged up sink. I was told 24-48 hours until it was to be fixed. While annoyed that these things werent handled before I moved in, I look it in stride. After 48 hours, nothing was done and I go into the office and discuss the issue with the office folk. I was told they would investigate and get back to me. I dont hear anything. Day 5 (mind you I still cant take a shower) someone finally shows up and fixes the majority of problems, except the ice maker. But more importantly, theres a film of god knows what in the tub from whatever was in the drain line. I go into the office again to let the office folk know about the ice maker and film in the tub. To their credit, I got someone that was responsive and called the maintenance guy immediately and had him come up to the apartment within 30 minutes. The ice maker was fixed but no cleaning of the film. I called the guy who was actually responsive and left a message about the film. He called back and left a message saying the cleaning people dont work on Fridays, so it would be Monday when they would be in to clean the tub and I can finally take a shower.....a week and a half after I moved in.Come on, this is totally ridiculous. All these issue should have been addressed prior to move-in.Sad that such a nice place had a disconnect with the maintenance or more likely, an overworked maintenance crew. I work in the apartment industry and if this situation occurred on one of my properties, heads would roll. The biggest reason people move out is non-responsive maintenance requests. It will be nearly impossible to retain me at lease-up, especially if there is another maintenance issue that goes similar to this one. Btw, Im writing this in real time, as in I just moved in and still dont have use of my shower.
I have lived here for about 2 years now. The ONLY reason why I am still here is because I work across the street but it is now to the point where it is not worth it. I will be moving out. NO parking ever. Broken elevators. Rent keeps going up for no reason. This place is too pricey for what it is unless you really want to be next to the shops. I will say the good thing is every service requested I have had was answered within a day or two. I like the way the website is setup for residents. The new pool addition is nice. The office employees always seem nice.
After renting their location for more than one year, and putting up with multiple maintenance issues on the apartments, roof leaks and dry-wall repairs, re-painting etc - they now charge to repair a nail hole on the dry-wall. They failed to consider fees when moving out and looking for any excuse to keep your deposit. Attention - have everything in writing with this management group, because they WILL keep your deposit.
Good apartment to stay
I’ve lived here almost 3 years, and I can say I’ve definitely seen a decline in management and in staff. It is especially hard to even talk to someone in the office on a Saturday, which is basically my only day I can since I work during the week like most people. My partner and I tried to see about talking to someone about another apartment and there were only two people who were in the office, but weren’t physically there because they were giving tours. Which left many people waiting and ending up leaving. I had seen another apartment community in McKinney earlier that day who had almost all of their staff there and someone always available to speak to. Legacy village has definitely left me disappointed.
