Ive been going to the Jose Eber in Beverly Hills for years! And never thought anyone could compare!! I was wrong...Brit is the best colorist/cut stylist Ive ever had. I had haircut and color with Katie (@katharinefuller) and I’m VERY HAPPY with the results! I’m a brunette with a quarantine long hair that was weighting me down and making me feel older and tired. Katie understood my idea and elevated it! She was very thorough and perfectionist (which is something you definitely want from someone who’s cutting your hair really short for the very first time). I got a short bob and a balayage, and I feel amazing. You know that feeling when you look in the mirror and think: “oh yeah, that’s ME!”? Katie gave me that! Definitely recommend.

I just moved to Pittsburgh from DC and was looking for a new hair salon. Based on the amazing reviews, I tried Cardamones Salon and now Im writing my own awesome review! I am in my early 20s, have long, straight hair with volume that grows quickly and I used to get a trim every 6 months in DC, but I never really loved my previous salon experiences nor the DC prices. I already plan on coming back to see Lauren at Cardamones in 3-4 months! She gave me a complimentary conditioning treatment because she was running a little behind (my appt was at 10am on a Sat). I got a few inches off and my hair looks great, but what made me want to come back is our conversation! Shes super chill, stylish, knows her stuff, and didnt talk about herself the whole time (which always bothered me about the stylists at my salon back home) and actually wanted to get to know me. The price is also AMAZING especially with a student discount. Ive never had a stylist I couldnt wait to return to see!

I am very disappointed with this business. The one co-owner named JoJo is very unprofessional and rude. I have seen how she talks to others around her and how she treats her employees. It is shameful and disrespectful how an adult and business owner treats others. I will never go back to this salon and I will be reporting her behavior to the BBB.

I went here for a trim...simple right....false. I told the older guy who was doing my hair I just wanted a trim about and inch off and that I part my hair in the middle but occasionally on the sides too. He proceeds to trim my hair, asks if I want layers I say no I like it all one length, straight. I now have slight layers. As he’s cutting how am I to know whether he’s giving me layers or listening to what I prefer?? I almost always part my hair center he asks again if I part on the sides I said sometimes. So he parts my hair on the sides and says he’s going to “frame” my face. I told him I prefer straight he says no no this is better. He parts my hair to my left side and cuts my hair....no where does it frame my face.....it doesn’t even blend with my hair!!! I can’t part my hair down the middle anymore because it looks AWFUL. It’s so incredibly disappointing when a stylist who charged 72$ 😂😂 didn’t even listen to one thing I asked. I just wanted a hair TRIM not you to ruin my hair. In my opinion, this is the worst salon in Pitt. I didn’t do any research because I figured how could they mess up a simple trim, I was wrong!

AMAZING!! This was my first time at the salon and everyone was super friendly. My comfort and needs were a priority and I felt truly taken care of the entire time. I had my hair cut, colored, and styled by Katie. She did a phenomenal job! I could not be happier! She transformed my hair, made it healthier, and gave it life. Last week I had booked an appointment online because I really needed to have my hair done. I chose the stylist, service and time. I was sent a confirmation letting me know my appointment had been booked. The following day I received a call from the salon telling me the service and stylist I had selected would not have enough time to do my hair but she could keep my appointment and have me come in for a consultation. Seriously?! Her reason was that the stylist had never done the service I requested but that there was another stylist who had much more experience. However, I wasnt even offered the opportunity to switch to that stylist. When I told her she could just cancel completely she said she would keep me on their schedule so I could come in and have a consultation with the original stylist I had requested and they would schedule my appointment for later on in the week. Which was pointless because the event I was attending was for the following day and Thursday which was 3 days away was the earliest she could get me in. I was actually referred to Cardamones Salon and the stylist from a friend and a long time client of their salon. When I told her what had happened she was upset to say the least and told me she had never had a consultation before having her hair done nor received such unprofessional behavior by having someone say the stylist wouldnt have time to do her hair. She said that definetly makes her reconsider remaining a client. I wouldnt recommend them based on my experience. And if a stylist isnt as experienced in certain things dont offer that particular service under that clients name.

I was in town for the weekend and decided to find a salon to fix a very bad haircut from home. I stopped in and add asked if anyone was available the next day and explained what I was looking for. They were closing early due to events in the area but were nice enough to schedule me for the next morning. I had Joe who was able to take my horrible cut and made it look amazing. Everyone was so nice as and welcoming. If I didn’t live 4 hours away I would definitely come here regularly !!!

If i could give 0 stars I would. I got the absolute worst haircut of my life and its so bad that Ive been sobbing for hours. I asked for an inch and half off and she cut off almost 6 inches and cut layers up to my chin for about half my head. the whole front of my head is literally a bob with long hair in the back. I will never return here

The salon is absolutely perfect!!! My stylist is Katie😍😍😍 she’s a highly trained and versatile stylist. She always does a wonderful job. I would definitely refer any WOMAN who lives in Pittsburgh to go there! You’ll truly see how crafty and detailed each person is.

I went in with literally green ends to my hair needing it gone for the holidays and a new color and Emily did an AMAZING job! The green is gone and my hair looks and feels great. Very upbeat and positive personalities and vibe in the salon. I will definitely return in the future!

Love the haircut, but the prices are not very consistent. When I first got my hair cut here a year or two ago it was $27. A few months ago and it was $30. I go in today and it was $35. With my student discount. Like I said I love this place, but just wish there was consistency in the prices.Edit: youre copy and paste reply does not answer my question. I wont be coming back because of that.

Jojo is truly an amazing stylist and person. She has revitalized my chemically damaged hair with consideration of what made me feel comfortable. She has so much talent with coloring, just check out her instagram photos to see for yourself! I left the salon feeling happy and did not run home to restyle my hair!! If you have damaged hair, I highly recommend a visit to Jojo to get back on track with healthy hair. Shes the real deal.

I went to Cardamones for the first time a week ago. It was a positive experience. The woman at reception was very friendly. The woman who washed my hair was very nice. I really liked the stylist, JoJo. I was comfortable with her and confident with her cutting my hair. I took several pictures of cuts I liked and disliked and ended up making a pretty significant change to my hair, the first in 30 years! The cut is very flattering though I have to admit I am still adjusting to both the overall look and in styling it. I will definitely return to this salon!

I just got my third hair cut at Cardamones and the experience is always great. The staff is extremely professional, and exponentially talented. I got for a basic cut, and it is always so much more than I expected. I have never left and felt less than fabulous. Theres a reason Ill be driving 45 minutes every two weeks -- continuity. I see Katie and she does an amazing job!

Lori tinted my lashes and she was great! The facility is beautiful and the staff were all very friendly. The whole appointment took maybe about 30 minutes and I was blown away with the results. The tinting can burn a bit while its being done but Lori kept checking in to make sure I was okay and it was totally worth it! Price was also more reasonable than some other places Ive seen for this service

I am relatively new in the area and I have been trying to find a good salon. After testing out 3 salons so far, I think I have found the one I love. The atmosphere in the salon is very welcoming and the staff is really fun. I had a great haircut and a great time! I wanted to make some major changes and I am happy with the result. JoJo was really worth it. She even gave me advice on how to work with my hair. I will be definitely returning.

Really comfortable. Everyone there is incredibly nice and friendly. Janice gave me a full set with gel, and I’m really happy with the way they turned out. Even after I had broken one of my nails, I was able to contact Janice after normal business hours and receive a response. She offered to fix my nail the very next day and even accommodated to my work schedule. Overall, I’d say that their customer service is excellent. I will be returning.

Went in there not sure what I wanted, ended up with a very natural-looking body wave that I am absolutely thrilled with. Everyone was very nice, owner makes the wine himself which they serve. Know that if you are paying with a card, that you cannot use the card to leave a tip. ATM across the street or just bring cash.

Ive gotten my hair done here three time now and each time, Jess has done an amazing job. When I went the first time, my hair was a bleached/pink colored mess. After one appointment, my hair was completely transformed and looked AMAZING. I highly recommend Jess to anyone looking to make their hair lovely again!! I also recently have gotten eyelash extensions filled here after another salon did a not so good job. Lily made my eyelashes look beautiful and Ive never loved my lashes more. Ive been going to Cardamones Salon for slightly over a year now. Jojo is absolutely wonderful--both in styling/color/cut, as well as personality. This is my first time visiting Pittsburgh because I tour for work and with that said I rely heavily on reviews to find a sufficient salon near my hotel. I visited Cardamones Salon yesterday as a walk in appointment and left incredibly displeased. I went in for a trim and shape up of my current hairstyle. I was assigned to Patty who seemed like a nice older woman, we talked out my hairstyle and I said I was in the growing out process with my hair because I was transitioning into growing out a Mohawk. With specific instructions and a picture shown of my ideal haircut we started and within minutes my hair was ruined. She completely forgot about the Mohawk and shaved the back of my head and immediately noticed she had messed up and said she wouldnt charge for the haircut. So my sides were uneven after all was said and done so I kindly pointed it out and she continued to mess that up and further ruin my hair. So she asked me if I was displeased and I was indifferent pretty much too upset to further try to fix my hair with her. So she brings in this gentleman who doesnt introduce himself-but I can only assume that his name was Ben from hearing him interact with a customer near me. He tries to console me by saying my hair is damn near picture perfect and with my sides being uneven he needs to take them way up passed my liking. Sitting in that chair I almost felt like the gentleman was over me being upset and tried to bully me into being okay with what I got so I could leave. After I was done I walked to the front counter to pay just in case they decided to change their minds and make me pay for their time or something, but I was reassured that it was on the house. This was probably my worst experience with a new salon and I am more than likely not ever coming back to this salon again.

Hair stylist was amazing and friendly. I loved my updo style however I booked online appointment and online prices are not correct. Price increased significantly $20. Unfortunately it left no money for a tip and left running around to locate an ATM. Anyway be prepared for significant price difference

Ive been coming to Joe at Cardamones for about 5 months now. I leave every time feeling better than I walked in, which is not common at many salons and barber shops. I feel loved and cared for when Im in Joes chair and the staff is amazing! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a high quality mens cut.

I’m obsessed with this place! They’re polite, friendly, easy to make an appointment with, and most importantly, my stylist, emily, ALWAYS executes fantastic looks. She takes what I want into consideration and gives me honest, expert opinions that leave me walking out confident and my friends asking where I went for my haircut. My favorite salon in Pittsburgh. I made a last minute appointment for a blowout and was impressed they offer early morning hours! Unfortunately when I arrived for my appointment, the salon was not open and the assistant who arrived didn’t have keys, so we had to wait for the stylist to arrive. Both were very apologetic and accommodating and offerrrd a discount for the inconvenience. Outside of that, they provide quality service and I appreciated the styling tips Brit provided!!

I have been coming here for a couple of years now. JoJo is awesome! She is a wizard with eyebrows and hair. Everyone makes you feel like you are at home. Jill at the front desk is sweet and a good talker.

Decided to come here to get my hair done because I was in town, the salon looked nice and I didn’t expect anything but excellent service, unfortunately that’s the exact opposite of what I got, came in to get my hair dyed black because the black dye that was already on it had faded pretty bad and my brown roots were growing out, the stylist Brittany overbooked herself so she sloppily rushed through my roots so she could hurry up and cut another client that was scheduled to come in for a haircut so she had her assistant rinse me and barely ran color though my ends. Afterwards my hair was still dull with an overal uneven color, the texture felt dry and lifeless a texture that I never felt before even after getting my hair bleached! Charged me 130 bucks for that! Then charged me 15 more dollars cause my hair was thick! Got a hair cut afterwards and asked her to cut layers all though my hair but try not to take much off the length, another previous client was still there so she payed more attention to her and then rushed through the haircut as well, I have a few layers in the front but not a single layer in the back she charged me 60 dollars for that, asked her to cut a couple layers into my extensions that I brought her that she said she would do for me prior to the visit and she refused to do so because by this time her other client took up most of her time and it was close to time for her to get off work so she told me I didn’t need them cut, asked me if I wanted them curled I told her no she didn’t have to do all that and she said “oh thank God” a few days later when I went to style my hair I really noticed how much I really hated my hair so I called to see if I could come in and get it fixed, took me over a week to get ahold of the owner and when I was finally was able to come in he took one look at my hair and said nothing needed to be done and that it looked fine, I traveled over and hour and a half to come back and because the owner thought it looked fine he didn’t even try, everyone in the salon gave me dirty looks as if I was wrong and talked about me as I walked out, I refuse to ever go back to this place I was so embarrassed if I could give less then one star I would!

I had an updo done for a wedding. I am from out of town and read reviews of this place and decided to give it a try. Awesome! Staff was super friendly and the facilities were nice. I told the lady doing my hair what I thought I wanted and about halfway through I said I didnt like it. So she said it was no problem and offered some recommendations. I followed it and my hair was fantastic! I received so many compliments on my hair. Loved it. If I am ever in Pittsburgh looking to get my hair done again, I would definitely go here!

I have been going to Patti for almost 7 years now, and I wouldnt think of having anyone else cut my hair. She is communicative, cares about details, and is an expert with her scissors.The entire staff is gracious and engaging. I was in town 11/15/14 for an afternoon wedding. All I was looking to get done was a wash and a curl. Around 10:30am I had just left the horrible salon in Macys where I spent over an hour while someone tried to curl my hair (35 minutes of this time was spent drying it, wtf). I ended up leaving Macys before the girl could even finish my hair; I was so disappointed as I had no idea where to go to get my hair fixed. I googled Pittsburgh salons and Cardamones came up and was just down the road from Macys so I figured I would walk by and scope out the place.From the sidewalk I knew Cardamones was going to be much, much better than the other. I walked in and told them I didnt have an appointment but was hoping to get my hair washed and curled. I waited all of about 30 seconds before I was being taken back to get shampooed. I showed Jasmine a picture of how I wanted my hair to be and she said oh thats easy and then proceeded. I was in there for maybe 30 minutes and I left with nearly exactly what I was asking for. I couldnt remember Jasmines name so before I wrote this review I looked on their website to see if I could identify her. To my surprise, I found out Jasmine is a Salon Assistant and not even a hairdresser. Jasmine, thank you so much. You made me feel and look so beautiful that day; you were my saving grace!HIGHLY RECOMMEND this salon.

Have been going to Cardamones for about 3-4 years now. Even though I have moved out of the neighborhood, I still make the half hour drive to go there (and only there!) for my haircuts. Alyssa is the only person I have ever found who can handle my curly hair with no fear, and make it look amazing every time. I trust her 100% to the point where I just go in now and tell her to do whatever she wants, because she will always make it look better than anything I would suggest.

My bff and I made an instantaneous decision to go for a haircut and found this place on Google based on the highest reviews and ratings. We were serviced by Katie and Lauren respectively. They both were very attentive to our ideas/fear. They made valid and realistic suggestions and were patient while attending to us. Over all we both strutted out of there with new hairstyles and new sense of confidence and of course some selfies. Great work and very pleasing experience.

I couldn’t have left happier! Lauren saved my hair! I went in with a butchered bob haircut that wouldn’t lay down from another salon, and gold hair. She fixed my Haircolor and my cut all at a reasonable price. Also they are all very warm welcoming people.

Im a flight attendant who has only lived here a short time. I found the salon when I googled the area and it sounded nice. Was treated wonderful by the owner and staff my first visit. Jess did my hair and I got a solid brown color and trim no highlights. I felt the price was high for solid color, but was happy with it. I just returned a second time a couple days ago, and the owner was not there. I brought in a photo of bayalage hair as that is what I scheduled. I asked Jess for dark to light ends and around my face. She said yes lets do it. I felt like the washing out and toner process took a half hour at least with an assistant. When I got done my whole head was still dark, no light around my face or ends. Basically it was nothing like my photo whatsoever and I said something to Jess. Instead of agreeing that it didnt turn out right at all, she said she didnt want to damage my hair. Then why would you say you were doing it like the photo? Even after everything I was very nice about it. But then I was charged $259 when she knew it hadnt turned out right. You need to acknowledge mistakes and make them right somehow. I looked the same as if I hadnt asked for a change. She proceeded to tell me we could do my hair the way I wanted it next time. Id like to add that Ive been to salons in NYC and the Red 7 Salon in Chicago where famous people get their hair done, and have never been charged these kinds of prices. I was going to call and talk to the owner and show him the photo I brought in. I did tip the girls as well, as I understand they are young, so I spent $290. Thank you, but I left very disappointed
