After finding a leak in our roof while renovating our home George was able to get out and take a look at our property the very next day. His pricing was awesome and the crew was fantastic. Thanks to GKG Roofing we now have a very beautiful roof and can’t be more pleased on how it turned out. We added a standing seam metal roof to a small section over a complicated part of the roof that George the owner personally worked on and oversaw to make sure we could get the best possible result. While waiting for the roof to be installed we experienced a roof leak and George sent out Lonnie right away and he was able to diagnose and repair the leak until the full roof was installed. George also worked with our insurance company towards a claim on the roof that turned out in our favor. We love supporting local businesss and would recommend GKG Roofing

GKG did an amazing job and will be our roofing company. He came out and gave us a great estimate for a full roof replacement. They use quality shingles and offer a great warranty and were still below price in comparison to other quotes we got. The turn around time was only 2 weeks and the crew that came on the day of installation was very professional and timely. They came and did the roof in 1 day! We needed a complete roof replacement as the existing roof had been a nightmare since moving into our new (Spec.) home about 16 years ago. Every time there was a stiff breeze, I wondered how many shingles would be laying out in the yard. Spent thousands piecing the roof back together and fixing water damage inside the house. Finally, a November 2019 storm did enough to warrant an insurance claim. I called George mainly because of these google reviews. Unlike most other businesses, I couldnt find one negative review! He responded within a day or so, and came out a couple days later for an estimate. He explained the Certainteed system that he would install and put me at ease that it would be done correctly and efficiently, and at a competitive price. I more than upgraded from the existing shingles and system that I had with little out of pocket after insurance. George told me that we were a couple weeks out from work being completed. Two weeks to the day (Friday), he told me I would have a new roof on Monday.I was there Monday morning when the crew arrived....I wouldnt have believed what happened next if I hadnt witnessed it. They began tearing off the old roof at approximately 7:45 AM. 2 Hours later, they were placing bundles of new shingles atop the roof to begin placing them! I checked on them again at lunch time, and half the roof was complete. I believe everything was totally finished, including clean up by 4-4:30. It was really something to see. And the roof looks great. Fantastic job by George and his very skilled, efficient crew.By the next morning, George had submitted all paperwork to my insurance company. Cant really comment on the outcome of that, but if it goes anything like the rest of the project, Im not concerned. Thanks to George and the crew. All of GKGs reviews on here are legit!

We chose George, with GKG Roofing to do a complete update on our house. We called &talked to 6 other companies, most were the big SALES companies, and a couple were local. Right away we felt very comfortable with George. He went around the house &addressed all of our concerns, wanted to know what we wanted done &talked to us about what it would take &the different options. One thing that really set him apart, was that he didnt want our money at any cost. He only wanted our business if he knew he could meet all of our expectations for what we wanted our house to look like &what we could afford to pay. He truly cared about doing the job we wanted &doing it right! Most of the other companies just gave a big sales pitch with standard estimates without looking at each area, &the reason this was so frustrating in our situation, is because we didnt just need a new roof &siding, we had a lot of warped &rotted wood trim around the entire house. The window trim had some really bad areas, &the fascia &soffit boards were rotting &had big holes in the corners where birds &squirrels had picked their way in &sounded like they were invading our house at all hours as they ran in our soffit boards along our living room &daughters bedrooms. A lot of companies didnt even mention these problems in their estimates, &others only wanted to do certain parts once we got down to the price. Honestly, only 2other companies even acknowledged our concerns that we wanted &needed everything replaced, but then they didnt clearly list these things in the estimates, &because it felt like a battle to even get the acknowledgment to begin with in our budget, we just werent sure that they were going to do everything the best way. George, however, was concerned with what the final outcome would be from the start. He didnt just care about getting our money &never looking back, &has proven that throughout this project.We ended up having GKG Roofing tear off &replace our roof with Certainteed products. George is a Select Shingle Master Company for Certainteed, which is the highest level that can be achieved, so his work comes with the Lifetime Certainteed shingle warranty, a 25yr Labor Warranty, along with a 10yr Labor Warranty with GKG Roofing.We also had GKG Roofing replace our siding, tear down &replace all of our window &door trim with new 6inch PVC trim. We had our warped wood corner posts taken down &opted to use the white vinyl siding corner posts instead of PVC because that fit in our budget. We didnt want to just wrap the corner posts with aluminum, although that would have been an option in our budget. We got all new vinyl soffits, &we also had all new gutters &downspouts done. The only thing on the outside of our home that wasnt completely replaced was the fascia boards. We opted to have the bad wood replaced, &then had it all wrapped with aluminum. With that being the only wrapped wood, I dont think well be worrying about those pesky squirrels &birds breaking in.The crew was very friendly, worked hard, covered area for rain, &cleaned up well. The roof was completed first. We did have a little wait for the siding to get in due to covid, but that wasnt a big deal to us. We also have Board &Batton shutters that are backordered, which is no biggie. The only hiccup throughout everything, is that the crew started installing matching gray corner trim instead of the contrasting white trim. We felt so bad because they were half way up the house with 5 corners up. This is not a negative, although George may feel differently. Actually, its quite the testament to George following through on everything he said he would. We let him know &he insisted on fixing it. No questions asked! We are absolutely in love with our house! Everything looks absolutely AMAZING, and is exactly what George promised. Actually, it looks better than we ever imagined. We cannot recommend George enough. He stayed available &communicated with us. We knew he was special from our first meeting, and Im so thankful he agreed to take on our big job, but not so big budget.

We called George to give us a quote for a storm damaged roof. He worked with our insurance company and gave a fair, competitive quote to replace the roof. George thoroughly explained the job and the materials that would be used and answered all of our questions. The GKG Roofing crew completed the job in one day with a couple hours of cleanup the following day. The job also included installing a new cupola and weathervane which were not delivered until weeks after the roof was replaced. George returned to perform the cupola install without any issues. In all I was very happy with the quality of work and truly appreciate Georges honest, upfront approach. I would recommend GKG Roofing to anyone.

We had storm damage to our siding and called George to give us a quote. He responded quickly and gave a fair, competitive quote to replace all of the siding on the house. He was willing to work with the insurance company, and was even able to up their pay out after looking at what was needed vs. what they quoted (this was after he gave his quote to us, which was right in line). My wife and I have had water damage inside our home, due to ice damns causing our roof to leak several times over the past 10 years. We have used a different company each time to patch the roof with promises that ice guard was installed and we should be good. Well the leak happened again this year damaging 5 rooms in our home. We called GKG Roofing on the advise of my insurance agent and so glad we did! George came out and took a look at our roof and some of the issue that we had going on. George explained the products and exactly what he would do. We had our son and nephew with us, both in construction, to make sure we were not being shafted again. They agreed that what we were being told by George was spot on. We all asked George questions and he was straight up with us. After discussing our options, my wife and I decided to have him replace the entire roof and gutter system.George took multiple pictures throughout the process and did exactly what he promised he would do. He also added ice guard on the entire upper valleys of our roof where the leaking always occurred. Couldn’t be more impressed with how George runs his business. We sustained some wind damage to our roof and the insurance company was trying to play hardball by only recommending a repair. George went to bat for us and met the adjuster on site for a second opinion. He pointed out all the areas that were missed during the first inspection and got them to pay up. Had a water leak and wanted to have my roof evaluated. Called Saturday evening not expecting to get an answer right away. George answered and was at my house Monday afternoon. I had an issue caused from a remodel on my home several years back where a 2x4 was used to provide extra support to the valley on my roof. Over time this has pushed the truss downward and is causing the ceiling to crack inside the home. I scheduled an appointment with George and he was able to come out quickly and take a look at the issue. While this issue is something GKG roofing typically does not work on George took the time to assess the issue and made recommendations (at no charge) on what could be done and who I should contact to get the issue resolved. When we decided we needed a new roof, I started searching for a local roofing company and found George and GKG Roofing listed first on Certainteed’s website.George responded to our inquiry very quickly and arrived right on time the day of the estimate. His communication was excellent and appreciated, letting us know when he was on the way. We immediately felt comfortable with George. He was detailed, honest and informative. He took the time to explain the differences in other brands of roofing, how they are installed, and why Certainteed makes a superior product.Within a week after deciding to go forward with GKG, we had a date scheduled. Work on the roof began one day earlier than planned, as rain was forecasted for the original date. His crew showed up at 7am as promised. They immediately began placing protective tarping all around the house, as well as placing OSB boards over all the first floor windows, landscaping and deck. The level of protection was something I didn’t expect, but appreciated. Within a few hours on what seemed like the hottest day of the year, the crew had the old shingles removed and the new materials were being installed. They also installed 2 new bathroom vents for us. By 5pm that day, the new roof was completely installed and all the construction debris was removed.We couldn’t be happier with the colors George recommended; “Landmark Pro Weathered Wood” paired with “Clay” drip edge. The new black bathroom vents match the black “cap master” they installed on the plumbing vent. A very nice touch I might add! Our new roof looks awesome and compliments the color of our siding nicely. George’s crew did an excellent job installing the new roof and we would definitely hire them again in the future. George and his team are the best at what they do.He made it to my house within a day to give me a quote and was very professional and provided a ton of information about the work they do. His price was very competitive and for the quality of workmanship and the quality materials he uses it was an excellent price. George is even a better person and I will use him any and every time we need anything his business does. After getting several quotes it’s clear that most of these roofing companies don’t deal with what he does which is use top of the line materials. We had a rubber roof installed and when I requested my quote to have the same high end materials George listed in his quote most of them said they really don’t deal with that kind of self adhesive rubber roof and the price would most likely double from the original quote.George I truly can’t thank you enough for everything you did. When the spring rains began this year, we noticed the paint sliding off our drywall in a section of our kitchen. Clearly, we had a water issue. We developed a leak in our roof a few months ago, and as the roof was over 20 years old, we starting to price roof replacements. We didn’t even know about GKG Roofing, but they were highly recommended by a co-worker. I called GKG and George Gilliland, the owner, came out to inspect the roof. We had received estimates from several companies, and George was the only one to get up on the roof to inspect it. Even better, George identified the source of the leak and made a temporary repair that day. And we hadn’t even selected his company for the roof replacement yet! GKG Roofing uses premium roofing products (CertainTeed) that come with a 25 year transferable warranty. We received an estimate from another well known roofing company in Columbus that also installs CertainTeed products. George’s bid was several thousand dollars less. When installation day came, GKG Roofing functioned like a well oiled machine. They gave my property the “white glove” treatment with tarps around the house and driveway and plywood against my windows to guard against any damage. They were done in one day and the cleanup was impeccable! A few days after the roof was installed, GKG installed new gutters on my house, along with the “Leaf Relief” system, which means I’ll never have to clean gutters again! They also installed splash guards at several key locations on the gutter system. George was actively involved in the entire process, ensuring that my wife and I were happy every step of the way! GKG replaced my entire slate roof five years ago as well as a small flat roof. The price and service were excellent and George and his team were very responsive. Last week we had some animals do damage to the flat roof and cause leaking. I called George and he has someone out right away to inspect and repair it. GKG Roofing is hands down the best roofer weve every worked with. George tackled a huge problem with our leaking roof (and by leaking, I mean we had an indoor water feature it was THAT bad) on our room addition which a previous roofer had incorrectly installed. He knew immediately how to remedy the situation and quoted a fair, honest price. His crew arrived on time and went right to work. We were concerned about possible damage to a roof vent due to the cold temps and ice/snow from last month, so contacted GKG Roofing for an inspection. Within two days George worked us into his schedule and was able to inspect all of the roof vents and other areas of the roof for any signs of unusual wear or damage. The house needed a total roof replacement. Although that was not good news for me, I trusted George to do the work. I had a leak on one side of my roof. They came out within the week and had it fixed within the next week. They quoted me on just replacing the one side of the roof and matching the shingles instead of trying to reroof the entire house. It matches perfectly and no more leaks. My wife and I reached out to several roofing companies in the area to do repairs from storm damage. Highly recommended! My husband and I purchased our home in February 2018. We noticed a lot of excess water dripping over the gutters, even during a gentle rain. We had the gutters refastened, but the issue continued. I called George, and the very next day, he stopped by to inspect the roof. He discovered the eave flashing was improperly installed causing the shingles to fold upward enough for the rain to splash over the gutter. He then quoted me a very reasonable price for the fix. Shortly thereafter, Lonnie contacted me and stopped by to either trim or fix parts of the drip edge. It rained the following day, and no more excessive dripping! George and Lonnie are experts in the roofing business and extremely down-to-earth men. Youre in great hands with these fellas!

Our roof sustained extensive damage in wind storms that hit the Canal Winchester area in April, 2020. It was a trying process while my wife and I attempted to find a company we felt comfortable with to take on the task at hand. The number one obstacle we were up against was dealing with salespeople. It always felt as though the company’s representative was simply trying to get us to sign on the dotted line and would take all the time in the world to explain how much better their product was and attempt to up-sell to varying degrees. Yet, their message was essentially the same.We found ourselves in a very fortunate situation in June when neighbors moved in and also required a new roof on their home. They had utilized GKG at their former residence a few years prior and was looking forward to working with them again.After witnessing the crew of GKG work for a day and a half, then another couple of hours cleaning up whatever debris had been lost, looking for nails, etc., it was clear which company we wanted to have work on our home.George came out to our home, performed a thorough inspection and explained the process from beginning to end, along with the product and it’s warranty.Personally, I was relieved to not deal with a salesman and instead with a professional that knows the business inside and out. George repaired some flashing for us about a year ago. After a few heavy rains this year, we had a leak and called him first. He came to take a look the next day and identified it was an issue with our stucco. He patched it up as he could and called me a day later with a recommendation for a stucco guy to follow up. Very happy with the service and will use this business again in the future.

We couldn’t be happier with the roof replacement that GKG Roofing did for us. Our roof was 23+ years old, we had one patched area from several years ago and several areas that had missing shingles due to high winds. Not enough to file an insurance claim but we knew it was time to consider replacing anyway. We got quotes from four roofing companies and settled on GKG. We have a complex roof with many angles and valleys and the pitch is pretty steep. George’s team was efficient and was able to complete the job in two days (house and an additional detached garage). They even did some work on some trim boards that had sustained water damage. I would not hesitate to hire them again but with the shingle/labor guarantee you get from Certainteed I expect that I won’t need them for another 20+ years!

If your in need of a new roof, call GKG and save yourself a lot of headaches years from now. This was the second roof installed on my house, so I wasnt repeating the mistakes made the first time, like using the largest roofer in town.I searched Google and found GKG roofing, they had so many positive reviews that I called. George, the owner, answered and came out on time. He was only coming out to check the roof out, maybe do a repair but after inspection he pointed out that I had some major issues, including mold in the attic. As you can imagine I was very concerned. There were so many issues with previous installation and ventilation, too many to go through. I started a claim with my insurance and George worked with the them to get the roof replaced in full, as well as get all the decking and insulation replaced that was covered in mold and mildew. They remediated any remaining mold on the trusses and completely changed the ventilation on the entire roof. They added ridge vent in areas that had none, eliminated useless power gable vents, and added these slick lower shingle over vent intakes. The entire project took 1.5 days and the crew, including George, took every precaution to protect the property and clean up both days. Pretty sure my flower beds are cleaner now than they were before.I dont write reviews, for anything, I feel like I shouldnt have to if a company does the job right, but GKG deserves it. George and his team know what they are doing, they will get it done correct the first time.

After trying 2 other roofers who failed to fix the problem, I was referred to George who sent Lonnie to me to stop rain water that was coming into my kitchen through a light fixture! They both did one thing that I fail to see with a lot of home contractors…they listened. They didn’t try to sell me a new roof, and they didn’t do a quick expensive repair that didn’t work. They were both very professional, Lonnie took the time to tell me details of how my particular home’s roof was installed and it’s weaknesses. I met with George, owner of GKG Roofing, for an estimate on a new roof. Facts were presented at the presentation not a lot of sales pitches. The price was competitive, quality of the shingles were good and the guarantee on the work and materials was very good. The crew installing the roof were professional, friendly and hard working completing the job in 2- days as George said they would. George stopped out during the project to inspect the work and progress. He also had his crew work on hiding a telephone wire that was previously exposed and added a small black apron at no additional cost because the color of the old apron did not match the new roof. I am very pleased with the entire operation and would not hesitate to recommend GKG roofing.

George replaced my elderly mothers roof and gutters recently and they look BEAUTIFUL. The gutter guards he installed were great too. I pulled on a few and they didnt budge-they were attached solidly to the gutters because they didnt scrimp on the screws used. IMO gutters looked custom fit to the house very very precisely. George was quick to respond and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. He was honest and forthright and gave us an excellent price. His crew was super courteous, friendly and cleaned up after themselves every day without fail. George even helped me get up on the roof to personally inspect their work which I very much appreciated since my mom could not. Needed to have a leak looked at on our older roof and were mentally preparing ourselves to hear we needed a whole new roof. George came out, found the problem and gave us an honest assessment of the roof. He was happy to do the repair and honest about how much life we have left in the roof as well. Initially, my insurance wanted to repair my roof instead of replacing it. I called George to get a quote. He reviewed the work my insurance wanted to do and he told me that with the amount of shingles my insurance wanted to replace, my roof would look like a checkerboard because of the color differences between the old and new shingles. He contacted my insurance to start the process of getting my insurance to review replacing the roof. After several emails, phone calls and other hoops like asking George to install some new shingles and take pictures to show the new shingles do not match the old shingles, my insurance agreed to pay to replace the roof.Today, GKG roofing completed my roof replacement. I am very happy with their work and how my roof looks. If I did not contact George, I probably would have only gotten the roof repaired. I highly recommend GKG roofing!
