Had an appointment at 8:30am and I was there for about an hour. Edgar explained everything regarding my service. I used them previously with another vehicle, and I never had an issues. Thank you for your great customer service.
Warning: do not schedule a/c work here. They dont perform it but will accept appointments for it. Kept me driving in 110°+ temperatures with no a/c due to this.
5 Stars - Great place to come for general services on your car including oil changes and tires. They did a great job of explaining what was included with my Tire Rack Vredestein tires and wheels I ordered. Their alignment rack was down so they missed out on an opportunity for an upsell. Ill be heading to a competitor for a lifetime alignment. This location services mostly commercial accounts who are all having slow downs from the 2019/20/21 Coronavirus. Because of those slow downs they can offer you speedy service even without an appointment.

Not the best customer service at this location. Employee was giving me an attitude. It kinda look like it was too early for him to be working on a Saturday, who knows. Definitely not coming back again to this place.

I came to get tires at this store and they put the wrong tires on the rims, so I had to come by to get the right tires.Tires Ive ended up purchasing have 60k miles warranty I have gone three weeks ago to them so we could figure out something because the tires they initially messed up putting the wrong tires had abnormal wear. Manager said that he would order the tires and they would pro-rate them, since they didnt have the tires in stock they would have to order them from their Warehouse. He said he would call me in two days, call never received and I call them next week asking how the status of the order was. He said he never got a response from the warehouse, he told me he would contact them and call me in two days. Again another week passed and never received a call. Today I stopped by the store and there is no manager, Asked the employee when he was going to be back and he said he didnt know, how is it possible a chain store like this doesnt have a manager available and moreover has a horrible customer service. Im going to report this store not only with the authorities but with the better business bureau, clearly not only the manager but everyone in this store are not trained and capable to provide good service and they should be replaced with real mechanics and technicians that know what they are doing. This is not first time Ive had problems with this store, and Im pretty sure there is more people that went through something similar.

Dont bother calling this place and dont waste your time going there. I called twice and was told they have items in stock only to find their incompetant staff lie and dont have it. If you do make the mistake of going there beware of the homeless encampment in their driveway.

Made an appointment over the phone for the next day, arrived only to be informed that they do not have a tech after 2:00. I drove all the way to this location because I was informed they have a tech available. Will actively advise not to go to this location as they are not truthful.
Apparently their system was down nationwide so they couldnt serve me. However they were able to see their last appointment and mine wasnt in there. So if the system is down, how can they see other appointments, just not mine?
Person at front counter was rude, called Monday made appointment for Thursday at 10 when I showed up Thursday there was no appointment made on behalf of the employee who took my call. The person at front desk was very rude, ppl that have no customer service should get some. He asked for info about work van which I didn’t know he went ahead and just skipped me like I wasn’t even there. I told him this is a work van, plus I made appointment it’s not my fault somebody is not doing their job!! Last time I will ever go there. Have never liked pep boys because of their customer service. It is the worst!
The person that helped us out was absolutely amazing. She was very knowledgeable and great personality. Its a shame the the store is shutting down the retail side but her new store is gaining a great employee!

I have never had an issue with a Pep Boys until I went to this location. I had an appointment at 8 am, right when they open, and by 8:10 the doors were still locked and nobody answered the phone. I’ll take my business elsewhere.
I’m at Pep Boys #0644 on McDowell Road in Phoenix and while Gary was setting me up with four new tires Jeff took the time to replace my vehicle key fob and not only ensured that the fob worked but also reattached it to my key ring. As he did this Gary was gathering my tires. After experiencing great service at the counter the mechanics also were outstanding installing my tires. I rate my experience as a ten out of ten.
I called about getting an oil change, was quoted a price and when I went in the man at the counter was giving me a price double what i was quoted.When i told him that i was quoted a different price his exact words were Oh well, are we doing this or not I didnt even say anything to him. I just walked away and took my car to the dealer and was treated like a valued customer.Horrible service

Well I love customer service that treats me as I treat others. But my check engine light came on after the oil change? One of the mechanics plugged it in pressed some buttons pumped gas petal a few times it went off. So Im guessing all is good?
Gary was cool. The Mexican dude threw my keys like he didnt enjoy his job. I am transgender but first Im a customer. And the native American girl said that there was nothing they could do for me and my gas cap light.
I found a nail in my tire today- a Sunday of course. Now this may be an easy fix for some people, I don’t know anything about cars and don’t trust taking matters into my own hands. I just moved to the area, and have a million errands to run so I couldn’t be without my car. This store let my drive right into their parking lot and fix it on the spot. I’m amazed by the customer service. What may not have been a big deal for them seriously made all the difference for me. They really went above and beyond for me and I’m thankful I found them.
I was able to get in quickly. . Get an oil change which is all I asked for. Next thing I know they are taking all my tires off.....When I asked why. .they said why not. Doesnt cost anything and it doesnt hurt.Thats cool, but dont start messing with something on my car without asking.

Terrible customer service and terrible service on my vehicle. I took my truck in to have an oil change and also see if they could get a part in to fix a taillight. The service rep told me he would call me with pricing options later in the morning. I never received a phone call, so I reached out later in the afternoon. Then, I was put on hold for 10 minutes and had to call back again. I was put on hold again and finally a third time, I got a hold of someone who told me, Oh, yeah. Your truck is done. They did NOT fix the taillight and they didnt bother to call and tell me at all. After getting my truck fixed at the dealership today AFTER my experience at Pep Boys, the dealership performed their routine inspection and said there was oil spilled all over the inside that hadnt been cleaned up. I have never left a negative review on Google before, but felt compelled because of the overall apathy and simply unprofessional behavior during my visit. I will not be returning to Pep Boys for any kind of service in the future.
I made a call on Thursday, 6/27 around 3 pm to schedule an oil change for Saturday, 6/29 at 2:30 pm. Made sure to leave my contact as well as the year and make of my car.But when I came in, the mechanic said they didn’t even have my name on file let alone the appointment. Very disappointing to know.It would serve you well to actually remember to put that appointment in the system for future clients.
First time coming here. Their service is not the best. Came for an alignment fix and when I asked for an update after an hour, the guy was rude and disrespectful. They could work on customer service and being more respectful when speaking to customers.
Has the best selection of seat covers. I had checked a couple of AutoZones & Wal-Marts, but the selections were limited & picked through. Pep boys had many options & several color choices as well.

I always bring my car to Pepboys because they are always so nice and it’s a comfortable environment. I especially want to recognize Nick, because he found that my coolant was looking funky and decided to check it out, and turns out the previous owner had put something in the radiator overflow. So thank you Nick, you saved me from a bigger problem.

Made a appointment at 12:00pm and drop off my car early around 9am, The store manager Josue Vasquez threw my key next the computer and said will be me when its ready very disrespectfully. when on my day, stop by around 12:20pm, and my key is still at the same spot, by the computer for anyone to take. its not in a bag shop normally do when you drop off the car.attached are images of where the key got threw, and you can download and look at the time to show when those picture was taken. one took at 12:30pm, and another took at 12:45pm....

Im conflicted. With one vehicle they did great. Military discount offer, free tire rotation with oil change. No problems.With the second vehicle, this is the third time I bring it in. They did an oil change but did not replaced the engine splash guard properly. The guard ended up dragging on the ground in the middle of the highway while traveling at 75mph. I bring it in, they put it back on. One week later it fell off again and lost all but two of the screws on it. Im once again in here getting it put back on.The staff is helpful. Actually I should be the annoyed one taking yet another hour+ of my time to get something fixed that it shouldnt have taken place to begin with.As Im waiting, a employee in the back counter is dropping several F-bombs that can be clearly heard throughout the store. As military I dont care. But if the kids were with, this dude would have a piece of my mind.Get your act straight.
Probably the best auto parts store they public is going to get. The business rule of good, fast, cheap : pick 2, applies in this business as it does in any other. I would like to say that there is a predictability to this rule, but there isnt. Some days I go in there and they have everything I need in stock, check out goes flawlessly and Im back to work withinn 20 minutes. Some days I go in and its a struggle from start to finish ending with having to return the part anyway. I dont think I will ever rate an auto parts store above three stars. If they have a wide selection, decent prices and fitment is good, usually theres going to be less than cordial people assuring that happens. Not the case here, but Im a professional and have been doing this for years so I have already formed the most convenient shopping list or even sometimes online cart by the time I get there and never ask the employees for parts lookup. If you have to rely on auto parts employees for repair advice or parts selection, you shouldnt be working on your own vehicle.
Recently got new tires from here and the service department was just awful. the only reason Im giving two stars and not one is because the service manager was very nice. I had an appointment I wasnt a walk in and it took 4 hours to get new tires pit on my car. They lost a hubcap, left my wheel lock key on the tire(thankfully it didnt fall off on the way back home), and on top of that my alignment was not done. I had to reschedule so thankfully the manager gave me $30 off of that when I go back. We w Ill see if that one goes any better.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS LOCATION. went in for new tires, told my sensor is broken and instead of leaving it out they kept it in my tire. Fast forward to a tire rotation at DISCOUNT TIRE and they found YOUR SCREW UP. my tire is ruined. I HAVE CALLED CORPORATE ON YOU AND NEXT THE BBB.If I could give you a negative star, I would vote you a negative infinitely. Im LIVID.
I happen to like this Pep Boys location. The store is fairly good sized and the selection is good. It seems pretty consistent with other large Pep Boys locations that Ive been to.
These guys definitely worked with me and did their job. I wasted weeks without a.c., and went to 3 diff shops to get my ac fixed. This place helped with a rental. And did an AMAZING job, i love Kenneth for his efforts. As well as Jeremy, both were exceptional!! I definitely reccommend, plan to go back for any future problems 😊
SCAM ALERT!!!!! So after looking up prices online for my make and vehicle to install a hitch (install parts only) which says $49.99 on the website, I called this address to confirm price. The male informed me that it is not a $50 install, that it is $300! Again I was not purchasing any parts I just needed the labor and online its $50. The man heard me perfectly clear. He said its normally $150 install and the hitch is another $150 which equals $300 but if I dont buy the parts from them I dont get the deal which is still $300 (Install only) if I bring my own parts! How does that even make sense? I usually only use my normals trusted mechanics to work on my car but this place is closer today. This is why I never go to random people because that is a straight SCAM! I called a different pep boys and sure enough the price is only $49.99 for labor only. I made this call today around 3:40 and I hope who ever is the manager would handle the situation. I will never return.

No professionalism i asked for a piece of paper towel they had it in back so i hadto use a dirty sock from my car cause they didnt want to get it for me. i let him know i was late for work if i can get help to put oil in my car no response
Horrible service. Took my car to get a tire replaced. I specifically asked if I need a new tire because I had a blow out, they told me the rim was fine. It turn out that the rim is damaged and I need to get a new one because it’s causing a pull. Never going back. Waiting room is dirty and bathroom smells. I don’t think they clean often. Stay away from this location.
Pep Boys Auto has been a long time auto store with competitive prices and auto services, well worth the visit, personally I have benefited from their products since owning my first vehicle and Pep Boys have kept me on the road driving safely
Worst costumer service, Gary is rude and never wants to service my vechical. Every time I call to make an appointment for a oil change or light bulb change or any kind of service. They never want to service it and they turn me away and I always go some where else. This location is most convenient for me but Im never going to try to get my vechical service here again if they dont want me as a client I can go somewhere else. Pep Boys needs to make some improvements.

Booked an appointment online. Tech was not available the day of my appointment and had to reschedule for the next day. Price online for a coolant flush was $65.00 but was charged $124.00. Rep indicated that I needed to look at the entire detail of the website. I explained there were no additional details. There seems to be a price misrepresentation online.
Scheduled an appointment for a wheel alignment at 12pm on a Friday. The vehicle was supposed to be ready at about 1pm, went for it at 245. I showed up and it was still parked in the same spot I left it. The lady simply told me that they didn’t get to it.
More appointment problems here (Im beginning to notice a trend in the reviews,) and when I called to straighten it out (after being hung up on after a hold,) it sounded very clear that my inquiry was a big inconvenience. Website and store need to be on the same page, or remove online booking if its so obviously unreliable
2 hours for tires to be be replaced? Dude was grumpy af. It was on the lift for a whole hour before they decided to take the tires off. I came in at 8 am so they wouldnt have the excuse of your not the only customer. 2 hours in and they barely have 2 tires on. TRASH.
I dropped off my Hyundai Sunday morning, today is Monday 1100 am and they still have not changed my engine oil. Pep Boys is always under staffed, never keep their word in delivery service. I’ve always written negative reviews every time I visit Pep Boys, just look up my history comments. Although many Pep Boys have been growing in the valley, their customer service still sucks. Too bad my contract only allows Pep Boys for all car maintenance!

I agree this place has no leadership ive taken my car there for regular service but customer service has gone out the window went for an oil change and rotation of tires 2 weeks ago got the oil change they did not rotate my tires they didnt give me a breakdown of what they did to my car future maintenance recommendations my car would need etc. Ill be taking my car to get serviced elsewhere fro now on

I used to go there a lot because of their selection but one day I got followers on each end of the aisle why I dont know oh yes I came in on a 20 inch bicycle and had a backpack which I left at the counter 6 rows for half an hour I was watched I went to the manager told him what was going on and if it ever happens again my business is elsewhere that never happened to me there before I told him I let it slide but it happened again corporate was going to hear about it I pop in once in awhile with AutoZone gets my business
Pep Boys on Mcdowell charged me 90 dollars for an engine diagnostic and did nothing but give a wrong diagnostic. They said the timing belt was breaking and they refused to change this on my 1996 Geo Metro stating that there was a 50 percent chance my engine was totaled. I took it to another mechanic and the timing belt was fine--the water pump needed changing. This car has a no interference engine that doesnt break if the timing belt breaks. But Pep boys here did not even look at the belt. They have no conscience and dont care if they rip you off and do nothing. They will refuse to work on car if it is an older model.
I had a check engne light on my Toyota that I needed cleared before I could pass emissions. I took it to Pep Boys and the tech who worked on it correctly diagnosed the problem, and Ive successfully passed emissions. The only down side that I can think of is the labor rate is a bit on the high side. Other than that, great job.

I rarely review places but this is the second time it has taken almost 2 hours to do a basic oil change. Dont advertise 30 min oil changes when you know you cant do it. The guy that helped me, Jeremy was nice and apologetic about the wait and having to reschedule my appointment 2 days in a row. The tech that actually did the work probably could have got it done in the 30 mins if she wasnt on her phone the whole time. Ive learned my lesson never going back!
I went in to get an estimate on my a/c recharge. Because I have an older car, they told me my only option was to pay $700 to have the unit updated. Then, I went to a local place, Eddies in downtown Phoenix. He recharged my unit for $50 and it works just fine!

I have had to search for other mechanics after going to this pep boys location. My basic repairs and oil changes were always more than what I was supposed to get with my coupons. I finely went to a local parts store and told them about it. They said I should ask for the manager on my next oil change. When I asked for the manager, my oil change went from my 120.00 to 80.00, but the oil was still not the right type.Bad.
My car started making a funny sound and vibration. I came to this nearby Pep Boys. Of course, the car didn’t make much of that sound then! A mechanic Steve spent quite a while and finally was able to locate the cause of this difficult-to-locate problem. He and another mechanic Andrew kept asking me if I had had work done on this area, that they detected now was faulty. At first I couldnt think of any, but then I remembered. The original garage ended up covering it under their warranty, and I wish they would have covered Pep Boys doing the work because Pep Boys found the problem. I am very grateful because if they hadnt located the problem and had me remember, I might have continued driving with the problem and had a serious road problem. I will return to this Pep Boys. I am impressed with Steve and Andrew in being able to find this serious problem. All the staff were very helpful to me while I was there.
Quick service. Went in for a nail in my tire and had me in and out in no time. The service department was very friendly and took care of me. I will be doing all of my automotive related service here from now on.

So the pep boys employees themselves really suck. They literally just ignored me. One just walked away and the other wouldnt look up. Luckily I want there to talk to them as I needed to visit the lyft hub that is inside (whose employees were actuallyb very kind and accommodating). Even though they get traffic that is not necessarily there to get there help, it seems liked an awful business decision to treat those visitors so terribly as I will never voluntarily visit a peep boys again nor recommend that anyone else do so. They suck.

DO NOT GO HERE! THESE EMPLOYEES DO NOT KNOW A CAR IF YOU SMACKED ONE IN FRONT OF THEIR FACE!! THEYRE BARELY PART REPLACERS LET ALONE MECHANICS AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET YOUR MONEY! they charged me over 100$ for a coolant flush to help my car from getting hot and less than two weeks later I go to a new pepboys and when they called they said they didnt even touch my coolant. They also put dye in my frion to find a leak in my ac and claimed I didnt have a leak but a contaniment thats over 1000$ of repair work! Went to a meineke and they found the leak in seconds. Do not trust them because they have no idea what theyre doing and just mess around the whole time (which is why it take hours for them to fix your car) go to meineke! Exceptional customer service and are willing to show you your car and what theyre doing! Much better prices too!
This location Not fully opened. There was not a Technician for what I needed done which was to check antifreeze and coolant. One would not be available til 4 days later.
Went there to price repairs. The person we contacted seemed annoyed like answering our questions was a bother. Prices for repairs were higher than a lot of others that we had checked.
Got the right part at a discount service was good

The mechanics are always knowlegable and efficient.. The phones are typically busy though. The Lyft counter is always swamped so expect too spend several hours here if you are renting a car from Hertz for Lyft. The same goes if you are a Lyft driver bringing your car in for service.

This place doesnt even deserve a star. I brought my car in and they told me 45 minutes to get my car in for a alignment. An hour and 30 minutes later my car is still not in. Ask Jeremy how long ? Tells me your car is next. Another 45 minutes still not in. I just left.. instead of making a scene . I am disappointed with Pep boys.. I would avoid this pep boys. I am very disappointed with the results pep boys has produced, I had taken my vehicle in last week (8/04/16) picked it up ether Friday or Saturday dont really remember what day exactly, but within the day the car started up with the same issue I had taken it in for (and supposedly paid to get repaired) now my car is back at the shop and Im left with no car again. I hope they resolve this issue soon
These incompetent bafoons efd my car sideways. Put in an alternator wrong. No joke. Only decent thing is that another Pep Boys in Nogales AZ fixed it.Take your car here if you want to fix the same problem again later.
