This shop is the best!!!! I dont think i have ever been to a better car repair shop then this. Customer care is top notch. Dave knows his stuff about cars and explains things so well and is very thorough. No hidden costs and will tell you the exact price up front.He did a great job diagnosing a P0420 code I was getting which was a bad catalytic converter. During the repair he found the exhaust manifold cracked which I why the cat went out. He kept me updated along with fast ordering of the part and also kept the old parts to show me which not too many shops do. Dave even volunteered to take my car through emissions testing so I didn’t have to worry about that but I did myself and passed first time. How many shops stand by their work and do this for you… This one does.They have earned my trust and the five star rating and every five start rating in the past and future reviews. Out of all the mechanics Ive did here in Phoenix Dave by far has the best customer service and knows what hes doing down to a science. Improper Diagnosis on our truck led to another mechanic bill. Best part is the warranty company wont pay out because of this shops negligence. Oh even better is they double checked their work and confirmed they did it right. lol... WRONG! Same lifter failed... due to them not catching the pin that holds it in place. Oh WAIT even better.. When they double checked they sent our truck to another mechanic friend who then let our truck sit for 2 weeks. (never touched it) So we were forced to take it to new new mechanic. hence the new- non-warranty- covered mechanic bill over $3500!!! I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN!!

This shop does quality work. Dave jr and Sr are great technicians. I went here because it was highly rated on Google and near the emissions testing facility. They not only solved my emissions problems but my engine has never been so responsive. My truck has a 22-RE and these guys put the extra effort into identifying challenges that the engine kept presenting them. They were professional and courteous throughout and provided me with timely updates throughout the process. I would definitely use these guys again!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Never been happier in such a short amount of time with the service I received here. I brought in my 1992 GMC Typhoon to have the turbo and Evap to be looked at, and he did not hesitate to pull it around into the shop. He also educated me on exactly what needed to be done and did some minor tuneup for no charge. Was totally blown away with this service. Awesome guy and real quality service. I highly recommend Apex and here is why: My 2008 Jeep Wrangler with 170K miles engine was failing due to age and hard core use from adventuring off-road. My choices were to rebuild it or just go with a remanufactured engine. I chose the remanufactured route for various reasons. I researched many places in the Phoenix valley who do this work. Whoever I chose had to meet the sniff test when it came their commitment to quality and how they stand behind their work. Putting a new engine in is a big financial decision, but for me its also a safety issue since I spend a great amount of time in remote and harsh locations documenting off-road trails in the western US. In my search I found Apex. I called and spoke with the owner, Dave senior and was impressed. Before I made the final decision to work with Apex I wanted to meet with them and see their shop. Again, I was impressed with their knowledge, candor and transparency. Out of all the shops I spoke and met with, I got the best feeling of a u2028“commitment to quality” from Apex. Post install: my Jeep seems more capable engine wise now then when I bought it with only 13K miles on it and I am looking forward to enjoying this motor for a very long time. Apex was a breeze to work with and the whole process was painless with no surprises at the end. I highly recommend Dave and his team to anyone and if you are a Jeep JK owner, these guys were well versed in our 3.8 liter which is an added bonus.

After purchasing my vehicle and taking it to gruelichs and paying out the bum just to get this vehicle to pass emissions. Gruelichs said I had several oil leaks. I however took it to apex auto just to find out I do not have an oil leak(s) as I was told. It was a cv axle seal that went bad. Inexpensive fix or better than an oil leak repair.I will be going back to this place for ALL of my servicing needs. A+ guys, you all are amazing, quick very knowledgeable and honest. Thank you!

I took the opportunity then to talk with my tech Frank quite a bit as he switched my worn out motor mounts and fixed my busted door. Dave Sr. and Dave Jr. are the BEST!!!! i would give them 10 stars if i could..Spoke with Dave Sr. about 2 issues I had with my 96 Dodge ram 1500 4x4 truck not passing Emissions. 1. My check engine light not coming on 2. P500 code ( speed sensor)...he said to drop it off and well take a look at it...So on Wed 8am my truck was in the shop....around 2pm he had called and figured out the issue and that he could fix it and quoted me the Price.. It was Perfect!!!!!!!...had them fix the issues, passed the emissions and I was back on the road in no time...Thank you guys very much..You GUYS ROCK!!!!!Would also like to add: Before finally hearing about Apex Automotive and Emissions and their GREAT reviews. I took my truck to MIDAS BIG MISTAKE..they did not fix anything cause they said they couldnt and gave me a recommendation on what needed to be done for the repairs..1. Need to take out the whole dash for the check engine light bulb replacement.2. Dave was super up front and honest with me the whole time he worked with me and my truck. I let him know all the work I had done to try and get my check engine light to stay off and he told me hed make double sure during his inspection to make sure we hadnt missed anything small. In the meantime they gave me a free rental car to get me to and from work so I didnt have to Uber everywhere which definitely blew me away. Every other place I had taken it to told me to sit and wait for 5 hours +. When I got back he regretfully informed me the issue was bigger than I had expected and gave me an up front honest answer and gave me my options. He didnt pressure me into anything and respectfully let me decide to go on my way with just the inspection. He reset the check engine light and it stayed off just long enough for me to pass smog and be on my way.Definitely a good group of guys and gals that have a lot of integrity which is really important to me coming from working at Discount Tire where our main focus is Integrity. Very professional, very detailed in their inspection. I went in for a repair to get my car to pass emissions. Their inspection on my vehicle was very detailed and before long I was able to know everything that was going on related to the issue I was having. They gave me the cheapest possible route to just get my car to pass emissions without pressuring me to do more than was necessary. Real story. I came here to have a vehicle inspected for a private party sale. They were thorough and accurate, correctly pointing out potential failures, and did not try to push a correction. When I had a subsequent issue, they repaired it at cost, and fit me in on Christmas weekend.I highly recommend their service, and will do so to my family.

The owner and his son work together and they checked my car with a check engine light on and they told me I needed the catalytic converter replaced. Heres why I say that they are honest because the other places I took it told me I needed the converter and two sensors replace and were going to charge me three times more plus no loaner car. Best automotive company experience Ive ever had. These guys were really passionate about their work, and were particularly knowledgeable about Envoys and Trailblazers. They were quick, personable, and actually assisted me free of charge in my panicked state when pretty much all I needed was a fuse and some peace of mind to pass emissions. I have an older car (1972) that can be very challenging to get through emissions but with some help from these guys we got it done! I have rarely experience such honest and thorough service. The entire crew was professional, kept my best interests in mind, and were conscious of financial constraints. The original problem I presented for ended up not being an issue whatsoever (thought I had a valve gasket leak, turns out the nuts were just loose) but the mechanic, David, was sure to examine the entire engine and found that my radiator was blown. They were able to replace the part in a day and offered me a loaner car during that time. Alex, who works in the front office, was sure to explain everything to me thoroughly and kept me informed throughout the entire process.This family business is run by a father and his two sons who emulate southern hospitality (they are originally from the southeast). They understand that repeat business comes from high quality service. I will not be going to any other mechanic from henceforth.

I love these guys! My driver side window broke on the way to work. I gave them a call and they had me bring it in. They fixed it within a couple of hours and I was able to pick it up on my lunch break. My window had broken a couple of years before and evidently it was still under warranty. I had no idea. I didnt pay anything. I have used them on several occasions and they have always been awesome to work with. They are upfront about what it might cost and do a great job of explaining the repairs.

This is one of the best shops in town. I have been going to them for years. I know cars, I can fix cars. It killed me when I came to the realization that I dont have the time to mess with that sort of thing anymore and had to trust someone else to be honest and competent with my vehicles. This place is great and Dave rocks! I came in to check my emissions and they offered to check it out for free, essentially a free initial diagnostic, if they could eyeball the immediate issue. Unlike other places, who charge just to have the vehicle looked at these guys said they would only charge me if they couldnt see the issue right away and would have to dig into it more. Plus, he said he would let me know before he started charging for time. It ended up being free. Turns out it wasnt necessary for me to get the part fixed yet either. I will be going to them for any future repairs if needed! Thanks!

Very impressed with Apex Auto. I have a vehicle I purchased recently and the seller didnt disclose and hid a major engine issue that didnt become apparent until later so I gave Apex a call about a replacement. Dave answered my call and provided me with a lot of information and exactly what I was looking for going into detail on what components and repairs would take place specifically with this replacement. Its a strange situation because at the time there was only one of these engines available in AZ at 136,000 miles as I had been quoted for it from a few different auto shops. In the end I chose to go with a specialty shop that could import a motor in with half the miles, but had that not been an option I would have likely gone to Apex. I had received several quotes for literally this exact 130k motor and Dave quoted me a price that was over a $1000 under what some other local shops offered which shows how often people try to overcharge you. If I wasnt on the opposite side of town I would take my vehicles to Apex, but in the future if I ever have a major repair I will be giving Apex a call. Even though I didnt end up doing business with Apex this time, I had to give a shout out to Dave and Apex over the amazing customer service he provided even after letting him know I was likely to head a different direction. Electrical issues pertaining to emissions. These guys really seem to know whats up. I have a heavy mechanical background but they understood the problems and took care of it!

A great shop that treats you right at a reasonable rate. I do most of my work on my vehicles myself but when its over my capabilities I bring it to Apex. They gave me a quick diagnostic, quote, and performed the entire repair same day. I will be back and will recommend them to anyone looking for any automotive service!

I brought in a 1992 vehicle that had failed emissions twice, in a couple hours they had it clean and passed. So I brought them my dirty-burning 1980 and they were up to the challenge. Where I had preferences they were respectful and worked with me, and where I needed help they went above and beyond to find and fix the problems. Long story short it passed with 0.00 emissions in 2 of 4 categories. I no longer leave a cloud of contamination across the streets of Phoenix. Highly recommend!

I met Mike through a group of guys at work who had great experiences with him and his shop. I had just recently bought a Mazda rx8 that had a busted radiator so i took it to Mike for the first time. After calling around and getting prices, not only was he the best price around, he was quick with the repair!!!! on top of that friendly and helpful!!! Ive been trying to get my emissions to pass for the longest time, and these guys got it all worked out: diagnostics, repairs, and a passed emission test in less than 8 hours for an unbeatable price! Dave is a genuine person who cares more about your satisfaction than your money. He was extremely helpful and explained everything in a way I could really understand. Very HAPPY! David and his staff are thorough, knowledgeable and down right nice! My car has issues, some left over from another mechanic. They not only helped me fix that issue, but we are now working on general 5 yr maintenance repairs / replacements at a fair price. They do a good job, dont mind if you have questions and most of all are giving me good advice to keep my car running for a very long time. One other thing I like is that they have not forced me to get everything done at once with using fear like other places have done. We couldnt be happier with Apex Auto. They have taken care of our family for a few years now. Totally honest, professional, and in some cases goes well beyond the call of duty.They made my 1974 Ford 150, with 190K miles on it run like new. It now again is a pleasure to drive.I believe that they are reasonable in their costs

Just spoke to David at Apex about an issue with my 2002 Firebird since I cant get the EVAP and Secondary Air Systems to reset in the cars computer to show Ready after a battery disconnect. He was great and explained what I need to do to correct the problem and did not try to get me to bring the car to his shop so he could charge me. He took his time to explain what was going on with the car and how to fix it. I am very grateful and very impressed.

At no time, did I feel pressured or anything to continue my services if I felt their efforts were inadequate. They were both knowledgable and extremely professional in timing and accuracy of the fix. Passed the emissions test after spending the morning with them.Great shop, 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area. Bonus point for inadvertently fixing an idling issue my truck had.
