My daughter took possession of the apartment yesteray and the apartment is a complete disaster. They claimed the apartment was cleaned and ready to live in... The pics tell a different story. We have to hire cleaners and with it being 3 day weekend we couldnt get anyone until next Wednesday. On top of paying for the cleaners she has to pay rent for 7 days and not able to move it. Overall a very stressful experience.
BEWARE! The WORST property management company in Philly who mostly work with slumlords. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM OR LET THEM RENT YOUR PROPERTY. They are mostly unresponsive and completely inadequate when they do respond. They will try to force you to sign invalid leases, include sneaky information, and give you 3 day deadlines to review legal documents. They are trying to illegally evict me from my apartment and are giving keys to show my apartment when Im not moving any time soon. and the last tenant they placed in my building has been stealing from long time tenants. they dont arrange for the property to be cleaned or maintained unless we complain multiple times. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
I have called repeatedly about touring apartments where I have gotten rude abrasive responses for no reason. I was told to write down all places which I was interested in but also was scolded for picking too many places. When I kindly asked how many places I was allowed to tour, I was given a very sassy response which I did not appreciate. I am SHOCKED at how rude the people who work here are. It is as if they do not want to rent their apartments. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL
Notoriously known in philly as the worse realty company. Abuses privacy, bad attitudes, and has properties where you can clearly tell they cover up serious problems with temporary solutions. Plus they secretly exterminate bed bugs in one apartment with out letting the neighbors know there’s been a infestation. Honestly I think there needs to be an investigation because it’s sad. They take advantage of people slum lord style. Also notice most of the people they rent to are Poor People Of Color. This company shows a lack of care or remorse to the people that pay them.
They take a long time in providing appointments for apartment tours andeven cancelled a tour at the very last moment after I had already reached the destination. I also found their staff (whether over the phone or in-person) fairly curt and unhelpful in terms of responding to queries.
Hello, I just wanted to give a big shout out to New Age Realty for all the helpful information that was given so that I can get a great to help with bills. Me and my family would like to say “THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!🙏🏽💙✌️
Absolutely the worst. STAY AWAY.
So lousy their own staff leave them five star reviews. Unethical
New Age has been a blessing to me since I moved here to Philadelphia Pennsylvania from Florida since 2017
I filled out a application for a lease takeover. I was denied due to some errors on my report. Ive removed said errors and no one will call be back. The tenant has even reached out and they gave her the run around. Very unprofessional and non responsive. Take your business somewhere else. Upper management is a joke and I will be reporting to the BBB.
Roaches! Is all I have to say...*In Response to Nicole - I no longer reside in any of your properties. I left when my lease ended because you could NOT take care of the infestation when I requested it. My apartment was clean & spotless. FYI, I took on my husbands last name after we got married, so searching for me in your data base now is a waste of your time. Im entitled to my review. New Age Realty Group certainly did manage the property so dont even try going there. Youre only making yourself look even worse.
Youd think for a realty group theyd actually want to get people in to tour and sign on leases. The staff was not very accommadating and rather rude over the phone.
We viewed the appartment. During the tour the guy could tell us nothing about the place and was underinformed. Then even though the place was off the market the next day he suggested we would fill out the application that night. This was $50 per person and it would take 2 days after this before it went off the market. Overall, uninformed and sneaky.
I got the keys to my house on Monday! I actually applied for the home site unseen based on the pictures that were posted and didnt want to wait until they posted a video of the house on YouTube fearing someone else would take it before me. I walked into my new home and almost cried. It is beautiful! My daughters and I are beyond excited. Lindsay and the team at New Age Realty Group were very responsive and excellent to work with. I look forward to many happy years in our new home. Thank you!!!
I worked with Bob Lynch-Kraley over the last few weeks to find an apartment in Philadelphia and I had the most amazing experience. The apartment search process is anxiety ridden as it is and then I had decided to wait until the very last minute to do it so that added to the stress, but Bob made the process feel so easy and gave me quality options. He listened to what I wanted and went above and beyond to help find exactly what I was looking for. He is honest and trustworthy and that goes a long way in this market. I also was very last minute with my schedule changes and availability for looking at units and he worked around it all--very flexible. I ended up renting a property that I had no seen with Bob but I am leaving this review because of the incredible experience I did have with him. Cant recommend him enough!
I rented from new age in 2017-2019 I never had a issue or problem anytime i needed maintenance they sent them out ! I’m actually about to try to rent with them again best realty agency !
I didnt end up renting with New Age Realty Group but I wanted to up their ratings with an honest review. Like everybody else I was turned off by the reviews, but after research I learned it is quite common for management companies to have horrible reviews the reason being that property managers work for the landlord and not the tenants. Or rather, they are the middle man between the two. While I dont particularly like this business model it can sometimes be more professional than dealing with a private landlord. At any rate, I came to New Age Realty as a potential tenant moving out-of-state. They were very accommodating, and even though they had video tours available -- something many properties and agents neglect to do at this time -- they were still not reluctant to conduct virtual, interactive tours with me.I made a holding/security deposit fully intending to move into the place less than a week later. However, over the weekend I received some unexpected news and had to reconsider my move entirely. I had already lost a lot of money simply making plans to move in the first place and losing the holding deposit would just be another punch in the gut.Even so, holding deposits arent usually refundable, and the leasing office pretty much re-iterated that policy. But after continuing to talk to them and the associated property manager they actually refunded me the whole amount (and that was after I simply asked for a partial refund.)Now, this is not to say that people should make security deposits willy-nilly and expect to be refunded. I believe mine was a special circumstance. You should absolutely know you want the place and intend to move there at the specified date before making a security deposit. This is just to say that there are human people even behind large companies. While I disagree fundamentally with how the rental market operates in general, its nice to know that there are some exceptions and nice faces to look forward to.
Contacted this company about a property in the 19104 zipcode and was told a time and date for a tour (which I now know is totally illegal). Show up 10 minutes before the given time, and the owner (Nick) is 20 minutes late. Once he arrives, he gives us the tour and thankfully the tenants were alright with it. After the tour we discuss ways to move forward and lock in the property and Nick says theres some forms to send over. We ask him to send them over ASAP, and he does not respond. Next day we ask AGAIN for the papers, he said he will send them in 30 minutes and NOTHING is sent. Over the next week, 3 of us try to contact him repeatedly to get the process in motion and there is NO FORMS SENT. 10 days later, after putting our search on hold the property is taken OFF THE MARKET with NO NOTICE to us or ANY RESPONSE from Nick. Nick lacked professionalism and we suffered as a result, take your business elsewhere.
I am property owner in Philadelphia. I recently just sold my property with New Age Realty Group. I have been a New Age Realty Group customer for about 5 years. New Age Realty Group is a soup to nuts company that handled all my rental needs. Year after year they advertised my property and found me quality tenants. Chris and his amazing team at New Age Realty Group worked through the good times and the bad. No job is too small or too big for his team of experienced employees. New Age made my experience as a landlord effortless. Chris and his team get the job done. Thanks NEW AGE!!!!!!
IDK why they are getting all the bad reviews. I have experienced 4 landlords over 6 years at The Lexington -- Resilife, npdf, Altman; all were worse than the previous. New Age have been the best landlords for a very small period of time as they just took over that property. And you can already observe their professionalism. Although, I can relate to some of the reviews about their agents being clueless. But hey, lets be fair, they are better than most others out there.
Have tried to reach out for multiple properties over several months and have not been able to get a response to phone calls or email inquiries on multiple occasions. I was finally able to schedule a tour, the soonest they could do was a week later, and then they cancelled it hours before hand.
They took over for the previous management of the Lexington building in early February, so I cannot give a detailed review of my experience with New Age. While I did move recently move out of the Lexington building, I was surprised by how fairly New Age actually treats people. Most rental agencies dont do that, try as they might.
Stay FAR AWAY from 1521 S. Ringgold St. The owner is motivated by pure greed. House is extremely outdated and in bad condition. Raised rent from $1,200 which is already overpriced for this property to $1,400.. Do yourself a favor and do not rent this place.Rare that they answer the phone, although the lady that handles calls is the only pleasant experience, shes actually helpful. Eric the property manager is very sneaky and untrustworthy so be careful of that.Be cautious of renting anything from New Age, they are very deceptive with there descriptions and pictures that they provide. Make sure you note every single bit of damage/abnormality.
I scheduled a showing for one of their properties. The guy was about 10-15 minutes late, and the whole time his attitude was VERY WEIRD and did not seem professional at all. I asked him questions regarding the super old and big internet machine in the room and he wasn’t able to answer it clearly or at least politely, all he said was :” I don’t know! Last time I came here it work.” Like what??? I’ve had so many viewing experiences recently and I lived at apartments managed by two management companies in Philly before, I have never met such an unprofessional, rude agent. His attitude honestly made me and my friend believe that he didn’t care about whether we are interested in it or not, he just wanted to finish the job and leave lol this company needs to train their people’s attitude for sure.
I have been trying to schedule times to see apartments for a month and a half now and they are always saying they have no time available. They are a reality office that for 4 days straight cant show an apartment. That is their job and they cant even do that. They want me to just do a video tour and then submit an application. But how am I going to submit an application with a fee without seeing the apartment. If they have time to do a live video tour, why cant they show me the apartment. Every other reality office is understanding and flexible. New age reality is none of those as well as rude.
DO NOT USE NEW AGE REALTY GROUP. Not professional and poor quality homes. If I could rate them a 1 start I would, worst leasing company. Save your time and do not use new age.
Very unprofessional company. They broke into my room today and changed the locks while I wasnt home and didnt even let me know because apparently having a lock on my door is against code.I NEVER RECEIVED A SINGLE NOTICE OR WARNING! BIG LIES! Damien the service coordinator is the only respectful and professional employee of New Age Realty.Their response:Thank you for your review. I understand you were upset, but to be clear, you had a deadbolt on your bedroom door, which is a fire hazard and against code. After multiple warnings and requests to remove and/or keep unlocked for a walk thru, we did send a locksmith to unlock the deadbolt. We didnt change any locks.
Ive lived in a New Age building for 3 years. New Age Realty Group staff, no matter who I spoke to, were always responsive to requests or questions. My leasing and renewal experiences were positive and incredibly easy. The building itself was very well maintained throughout my lease. Maintenance staff were courteous, gave sufficient notice if they needed to enter the property, and always cleaned up after themselves. I refer all my friends to this management company, because the staff are professional and the properties are great!
This company will send a random stranger to come and film your apartment for showings in the middle of a pandemic. They will not take no for an answer, even if you offer pictures.Edited to add:And they will have repeat showings even though Philadelphias government said there is a HIGH RISK OF COMMUNITY TRANSMISSION.
Bob was such a great help. I didnt feel any pressure in my pursuit to my new apartment. He gave me very practical ideas and pointed out important details during my search. He was very versatile with what he had to offer. I highly recommend him to anyone who is in search for a new home/apt. I foresee Bob climbing up the ranks in the near future. A professional at its finest.
Let it be known that New Age Realty Group has been trying to show my living space to strangers during the pandemic despite officially recommended quarantine measures. 6 MONTHS IN ADVANCE OF MY LEASE END DATE. I was told this is normal practice and I do not agree.
Absolutely terrible... I dont know what to say. My first showing I was stood up by the shower and the second time an hour late. Sadly I decided to get the apartment and I just moved in... The place wasnt clean before move in. 2 days I left messages for their management and no one called me back. Had to catch them when they decided they wanted to answer my phone calls. They told me theyd call me back and then forgot over the weekend. Now Im trying to get maintenance items done like a rotten smell in the wall and 76 hours later after I reminded them theyre going to finally send someone out... will see tomorrow. Honestly terrible. Id avoid them.Replying to Gregg and update: Hey Gregg, its now been two weeks since my move in and not a single thing in the apartment has been fixed. Theres still a rotten smell in the wall that I have to spray to neutralize for the day and the window is still broken. Ive had a maintenance guy come who was nice and told me the smell was definitely in the wall and was giving him a headache just standing near it. He said that the wall needed to be cut out so they could figure out whats causing the smell. Days later no response and you guys sent out a second different maintenance guy to tell me and you, the exact same thing as the first. Its been three days since that and no one has fixed the smell of rot in my wall or even the window! Is it too much to ask to not have to smell garbage in my apartment while Im sleeping or cooking a meal?
My husband and I rented an apartment in South Philly from New Age and so far our experience has been excellent.
I have been living in a New Age property for 6 months now and I couldnt be happier. With my old landlord I had to beg them to even switch a lightbulb but the maintenance team at New Age is fantastic! They are always quick to solve any maintenance issues and are very communicative during the entire process.
For the first year and a half there were no problems. When the tub was sinking they were not the best about fixing major issues. A two week project turned into 5 months The windows leak and a tree was growing through our bathroom. Was not a quality place to live. Prior to that I was very happy. Maintenance is super responsive even on weekends. We are moving because it isnt rent controlled.
I scheduled an appointment to see a property for Tuesday afternoon, I was called back by Durant who explained there was an issue with the key and we would need to reschedule. On the day we rescheduled, I showed up to the unit and Durant was unable to open it due to the key issue not being fixed. He told me he would get back to me whenever it was in order to reschedule. It has now been over a week and I have not heard back from anyone. I emailed the general inbox and received no response. I understand the key issue may have had something to do with the current tenant in the unit, but the fact that there has been no communication, even after emailing, is disappointing to say the least.Update: 27 Nov - while the original comment from Greg was nice, I have yet to hear back from anyone from New Age since his response was left. I understand things happen, but this just seems to go along with all of the other negative experiences others have had.
Bob at New Age was so helpful and attentive throughout the entire process of securing an apartment. He was available to answer my questions at any time, and was very accommodating with my schedule. He helped me find my first apartment, and he walked me through everything step by step; I couldnt have done it without him!
Avoid if possible.
Bob was very helpful in finding me an apartment. He took me to a couple places and found the best fit for me. Very knowledge about his territories and the guys simply loves Philadelphia. This man deserves a raise in my book! A+
I’ve used New Age twice in the past few years to find a rental in Philadelphia. Both times, I worked with Bob Lynch-Kraley and he as great! He’s knowledgeable about the inventory in the city, honest, and friendly. Apartment hunting can be horrible, but Bob made the process much more pleasant and less stressful.
Ive been associated with New Age realty for last 3 years. Awesome group. Id would love to have them around but I am relocated a bit far away. Recommend to anyone but especially to College students who are looking for trouble-free place to live.Michael Park
We lived in the Emerson Building for 3.5 years. It is close to UPenn (20-min walk). The rent is cheaper than the nearby apartments. The condition inside is good. In this building there are only studios and one-bed rooms. We need more space, so we move out. In summary, it is a nice experience here.
Bob was my agent when viewing apartments for rent in University City. He is honestly the best retail agency ever and tells you straight how it is. He was very helpful and patient and answered all of my questions. Very informative and has excellent customer service, you can tell that he really cares about your interest and probably the best I ever seen.
From a seller and landlord standpoint, New Age Realty Group has been an outstanding partner. New Ages property management services includes simple but detailed reporting and their responsiveness has been important to me during our years of working together. Selling properties have also been done in a manner where I can trust Christos and his team for the right recommendations and strategies. Ill work with New Age as long as Im in the business.
If New Age responded to maintenance requests even half as frequently as it responded to negative online reviews, I would consider giving it a second star. New Age ignores tenants rights laws and cannot be trusted. Avoid at all costs unless you want to have to take your property manager to court.
Was anything less than perfect? YES, it was all far from it! The mold, the bugs, rodents, the cheap repairs, lack of hot water, and the way they treat tenants far from less the perfect. I can go on, and on. Hypocritical responses on a public website. Behind closed doors, no attempts to make anything right. My recommendations to anyone reading are to take note of that and stay clear. There are many better options.
Very much enjoyed. Continues to advance.
Such a scummy company. DO NOT RENT FROM NEW AGE!
New Age Realty helped me buy my first home. I got to see many different houses in my price range throughout Philadelphia. They were very accommodating and even set me up with a great home inspector and title company. I settled into a beautiful house in Fishtown with the help of Christos and Matthew. Will definitely recommend to my family and friends!
The worst. they only want your money. They do not hold themselves to any standards. I will commute 2 hours before renting from them again. Also, read the other reviews. A lot of other people have had similar experiences to me. And its also super easy to spot their own self fake reviews. Sad!
The apartment I moved into was very nice. Had some issues with communication at first, but management was willing to work with me. All the staff is very friendly.
My experience with New Age after 7 months has been good. Being a large established leasing company they provide the benefit of staff that are always available, online rent payment and maintenance requests (a huge plus), and professional management overall.Their response time on maintenance requests is unbeatable and far exceeded my expectations. They will fix even minor issues within a few hours of making a request.Based on my experience with the area, my guess is that many of the bad reviews here are coming from entitled college kids who havent yet learned what the real world is like.
One of the best renting experiences! Attentive and reasonable. I am renting a one-bed apartment in Fairmount. They worked with me on my move-in date, have been responsive whenever theres has been an issue (minimal issues). The apartment is beautiful! Newly renovated, hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances and energy efficient. Anyone who walks in cannot believe how nice the place is and how reasonable the rent is. I cannot say enough great things about this apartment and the management. Highly recommend!
Avoid at all costs. After my previous landlord sold his property to New Age, everything has gone south. Now that Im moving out, theyve started scheduling showings. They are bombarding me with evening showings and are very reluctant to reschedule, even when I have visitors. Not only that, each time I come home theres something new that got screwed up. Last time my apartment door was left unlocked. This time the two front doors to the building were left unlocked and my kitchen door was left open. My dog took that opportunity to leave the kitchen and tear up my bedroom. If all that wasnt enough, their staff is rude an unhelpful. Please do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this company.
VERY disappointed. I dont like to write bad reviews, but they left me no choice. We overlooked the lack of cleaning, paint, and rodent control; however, Eight months of the bathroom needing repairs plus heat; and receiving no more than a run-around is crazy. Busted water pipes in the winter, due to a lack of heat. A disrespectful maintenance man (whos repeated response was You need a contractor to fix this. ) Found a contractor, only to be told by New Age Realty We cant approve your contractor. The bathroom needs to be demolished and rebuilt - By the way, the rents going up. Renters Beware...Be VERY careful when looking at properties they are offering for rent. If something is wrong, dont count on them taking care of it. Philadelphia has protections, but it takes MONTHS for them to enforce the rules. Your lease might be up by the time they are forced to take care of it. Withholding rent only results in you getting taken to court and black-listed from future rental opportunities.5/25/18 - Response to Nicole – New Age was notified upon move in (September) that the bathroom problems existed (no heat and a busted tub-surround). Naively, we expected New Age to address the issue in a timely manner (as a good landlord should). The pipes busted four months later (12/29). In January, your maintenance man cut a hole in the floor and installed a baseboard heater; which might have worked, had the floor been insulated (the bathroom hangs out from the home and is exposed to the elements). Unfortunately, the heater was useless, due to lack of insulation; and continues to present a safety (electrocution) hazard due to water running (during showers) behind the still unfixed tub-surround. Imagine taking a shower in a room that is 40 degrees. It is now almost June, and the lease expires in August. Expecting tenants to wait more than eight months to get the owner’s approval (which still hasn’t happened) to fix a health and safety hazard is outrageous. As far as blacklisting goes; a tenant may withhold rent until a problem is fixed. A little research reveals that New Age files lawsuits against those that withhold rent; regardless of why. If a renter decides to move; future landlords do background checks on new applicants and those lawsuits will show up. Who wants to rent to someone who had a lawsuit filed against them for non-payment of rent? This is how you get blacklisted.
Just not good landlords
Dont be fooled by what may look like a decent company with polite people. Its all an act to lure you in so they can continue to profit, grow and spread just like the roaches infested in their properties do. New Age Realty defines the term slumlord! They are the worst ever. Please take this advice along with the other negative reviews. The responses from the owner pretending to care, apologizing and saying stuff like we stride ourselves to take the very best care of our customers is a lie! Dont even bother responding to my review with that.
So far this is my rating. I had an appointment to see a house no one showed up to show it to me. When I called the agent told me he had left left a few minutes before my arrival time. (Maybe he was scared of the neighborhood but its my hood) Funny thing I was in front of the house at the time he stated he left. I knocked on the door at the exact time of my appointment the door was answered by a resident who say no agent had been there. I waited a half hour sitting on the steps . Not sure what kind of realty company this is but not a good first interaction.
Went to a showing and the views of the same unit on website were totally different then actual unit. Website misrepresented the unit! Thats bad business. Unit needed work before showing.
A really excellent Reality Group. They send a maintenance crew the very next day when anything breaks and they are very understanding with late rent payments. Would definitely rent from this group again.
AVOID. Attempted to bill us (tenants) for installing a water meter. Attempted to bill us for water usage charges that originated prior to our lease. Entered the house without prior notice while a tenant was coping with illness of father. Solution to light fixtures malfunctioning was to remove the lightbulbs and not replace or repair. Never repaired leaks tenants notified them of multiple times. WARNING: DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY AS A TENANT. THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR THINGS YOU ARE NOT LIABLE FOR IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL.
This is one of the worst companies i have ever had the misfortune to encounter. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY anyone could have a positive experience using their service. My wife and i called to ask about some properties because we are moving from out of state and the woman who answered the phone was rude beyond rude. She went out of her way to insult us repeatedly and responded to our questions with why dont you look it up yourself? Unbelievable! When we finally had the good sense to hang up on her, the manager or whoever frantically called us back asking why we hung up, then had the incredible nerve to defend his stupid receptionist! As if that werent enough, he has called back alternately apologizing or pretending he has called the wrong number. Hello dude, we can see its your number!Dont take it from me, take a look at their yelp page... Dreadful. Im fairly certain that the positive reviews on both google and yelp are fake accounts made by the seo company who manages their website.WORST. COMPANY. EVER.
Would have rented from them if they could have done it my way, but they werent open to it. Apartment living in the age of the internet is not safe or private due to Google and other invasion of privacy problems. This is not to single out this place but there are ways to combat it that require new ways of thinking about rentals. Will have to pursue this somewhere else. This company would have been great for this but oh well.
Great, quick & reliable. My husband and I are in the process of buying a new home and we couldn’t be happier with the process.
I was having an issue with my water. Brown water was coming out of all of the facets and sent an emergency message. My response fromChristian Connolly, one of the property managers, thats an issue that can be taken care of in the morning. Really?!? So just dont use my water from 7 pm till the following day, and still, no one was sent to assess the problem. The maintenance team is top-notch. Unfortunately, this company is not, though.
The maintenance manager, Damien, is AWESOME!!
READ THIS BEFORE SIGNING WITH NEW AGE REALTY!!!I moved into a property managed by New Age Realty Group, Inc. (NRG) in December of 2016. On July 5, 2017, I came home to four large holes in my bedroom wall and ceiling, furniture rearranged, and dust and debris all over my apartment. There was no notice provided to me that they would be entering my apartment, let alone work being done that would leave my home in a shambles. The practice of not providing 24 hours notice, as dictated by law for non-emergency issues, is the norm with NRG.On February 1, 2018, I transferred from one unit to another in the same building. On February 27, I informed them of several issues in the unit needing repair. After effectively ignoring my request for repairs, I began withholding rent on April 1, 2018. As of today, 5/22/18, no repairs have been made and they are have started the eviction process.NRG repeatedly violate my privacy, ignore the few laws in place to provide a comfortable, secure home for tenants, and show no common decency.I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU SEEK SHELTER ELSEWHERE!!!
DO NOT RENT WITH NEW AGE REALTY GROUP BECAUSE ALL THEY WILL DO IS SCAM YOU. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I toured an apartment they had available on Drexels campus and that night I filled out the application. I called them saying Im looking to move in ASAP and the lady at the front desk told me that whoever bring the security deposit to the office, the apartment is theirs. The day after I toured (friday), I gave them $1400 security deposit. On monday, I call to make sure they received all the extra information they needed and she tells me that they gave the apartment to somebody else. THEY TOOK MY $1,400 SECURITY DEPOSIT TELLING ME THAT THE APARTMENT WAS MINE AND THE NEXT DAY GAVE IT TO SOMEBODY ELSE AND DIDNT BOTHER TO INFORM ME. I broke my lease with my landlord because I was under the impression that I was moving but all they did was lie to take my money. The lady at the front desk just kept lying about everything she said even when I went to speak with her supervisor. DO NOT RENT WITH NEW AGE REALTY GROUP BECAUSE ALL THEY WILL DO IS SCAM YOU.
Diligent, professional and the best around...as a former tenant and current landlord. I understand both sides of the coin. You wont find better in this city, believe me.
Awful people. Awful service. They make non-legally applicable threats. They dont leave your apartment in the same condition as it was when they show it to people. Theyve left the inside doors opened and the front door unlocked. I will absolutely never use this service again. The worst Ive ever experienced and Ive been living in the city for over 3 years. Please do not use them, you will regret it. The head manager chick is also terribly rude.
****PLEASE READ****UPDATE: NICOLE IN THE COMMENTS ALSO LIES. TEAM OF LIARS.My roommates and I are considering taking LEGAL ACTION against this fraudulent establishment.REALLY should’ve read their reviews before choosing to rent with them. New Age is TERRIBLE. THEY WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE. The higher ups in management take all the money and hardly any goes to departments, such as maintenance, that service the tenants directly. How this company gets off showing and renting run down apartments is beyond me.Lie #1. The man who toured us around the apartment claimed to be the owner. He was not. New Age REFUSES to tell tenants who their landlords really are, even though it is suppose to be public record. VERY SHADY.Lie #2. The same man who showed us our apartment made a list of the many problems still present before we moved it, including: windows that DO NOT OPEN (huge fire and robbery hazard), an oven older than I am (35 year old oven that leaked gas), multiple holes in the walls that mice come through (NO pest problems reported to us prior), and DISGUSTING, just awfully dirty hardwood floors. NONE of these problems were dealt with before we moved in. The man LIED to our FACE. They don’t care in that office.Lie #3. I was told that huge, old INFUSTRUCTUAL problems, such as windows that DO NOT STAY OPEN, simply cannot be fixed because they don’t have the money and REFUSE to contact the landlord to have these issues resolved. I cannot even locate the landlord. So I guess I have to just live with this while the management at New Age can go home to safe, secure, and clean apartments? LIES.And the lies don’t stop there.THESE PEOPLE DO NOT CARE. DO NOT RENT WITH NEW AGE. PERIOD. They are garaunteed to violate the terms of your lease within one week. So many other people in Philly to rent from. Even today, I have been on the phone for over an HOUR trying to reach maintenance about a MICE PROBLEM.I cannot wait until my lease is up next May.P.S. New Age- please fire Bob. He lies. But I guess maybe that’s exactly his job.
Agent called to confirm my viewing bout 2-3 hours before, which was fine, except when I got there he didnt show up.
Had a great experience in Emerson building!
Very professional and friendly property management company. I will definately be using them again in the future. Also, when it came down to the sale of the property, they made everything simple and an easy process.
This is the worst leasing agency I have ever had the displeasure of working with. They are lazy and take no reaponsibilty for their properties. They don’t share landlord names or information so that you’re forced to be in touch with them, and then deny that they can help you fix issues with your property. They breach their leases and have NO RESPECT FOR THEIR TENNENTS. If you see their sign up then RUN and PLEASE go live somewhere else. Whatever property you pick with them you’re garanteed to be miserable.
Very nice people. Answering questions, giving good information and smiling.
I rented a 1 bedroom for 5 years had a wonderful experience
PLEASE read this before signing a lease with New Age! This is a TERRIBLE realty company. Do not be fooled. I genuinely wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt in the beginning of my experience with them because I understand that many people are moving in and out at the same time and that the company has a lot to handle. But after months of requesting maintenance requests that were opened and closed without any type of correspondence or action, I have seen this companys true colors.First of all, when touring the property, the person who was showing us around told us that he was this propertys manager. He promised that the property would be cleaned out before our move-in. He promised that various things such as the large hole in our FRONT door, the replacement of the screens being held onto the house by DUCT TAPE, and the repair of the fridge that was LEAKING BROWN LIQUID all BEFORE we moved in. (Because we pointed all these things out to him upon touring the property.) He even promised that we would be able to walk through the house before moving in, and I dont even know how he can promise something like that--however, if it comes out of your mouth, then you are responsible for it. We viewed the property with him twice, and reiterated to him all the concerns we had multiple times, followed by him reassuring us that he had it all written down and that it would be taken care of.So, what got done? NONE OF THAT. We walked into a disgusting, trash, bug, and dirt-ridden house, completely untouched, after numerous promises that the property would be addressed before our move-in. The door still had a large gape in it, the screens still exactly the way they were, and the fridge and other issues as well. Absolutely nothing of what was promised was actually done. What happened when we brought this to their attention? Nothing. They wrote back a defensive email to the person who complained and used the excuse that they have had bad contractors in the past--a completely useless explanation as to why the house was the way it was when theyve had months since we signed our lease to address everything. It is now March as I write this, 6 months into our lease. The broken doorbell was never fixed. The screens are STILL flapping around with pieces of duct tape on them--we havent been able to open any of our windows during the hot months of summer when we first moved in. The fridge still leaks brown goop. There is still a large opening in our front door. We have been putting in numerous maintenance requests, from different roommates, more specific every time. Every time that I log onto the companys virtual portal (used to submit requests and pay bills), I see that they always CLOSE my maintenance requests without anything being done! 6 months in, and they still have not batted an eyelash over these important issues.I have never been more unhappy and more off-put by a realty company. They should not be able to call their properties managed, because they DONT MANAGE THEM. They ONLY WANT YOUR MONTHLY PAYMENT.**UPDATE MAY 31st 2018 -- 9 MONTHS INTO OUR LEASE AND WE STILL HAVE NOT HAD ALL SCREENS REPLACED AFTER MULTIPLE REQUESTS.**UPDATE OCT 16 2018 -- New age NEVER fixed our windows, so we were unable to use that part of our house for our entire year of living there. Why did we pay full rent if we could use the full house? Additionally, and probably the most horrific, NEW AGE SENT OUR DEPOSIT REFUND CHECK TO THE WRONG ADDRESS, worth lots of money.**UPDATE 2020/2021 -- Since my original review, I have rented other properties advertised through NewAge, but were NOT managed by Newage themselves. These properties were managed by individual landlords, and I have no complaints about my experiences there. What I suggest, if you are considering moving into a property advertised by Newage, is to check who manages it. If its a landlord, youre probably better off. If NewAge manages it, Id be scared for you.
I give the benefit of the doubt to a person working in any service type of job because its inevitable to have rough days but its been every time the same one person that has worked with my papers be completely and utterly rude. The same occurrence happened over phone call. I dont know if its because they dont feel college students are responsible adults but I felt like they were treating me like a child. It was my first time renting housing but one little question didnt hurt anybody even if it did sound like common sense. Clarity was important for me and to be treated as if I had asked the dumbest question ever felt humiliating and ruined the rest of my day with the added sarcasm on top of that. Personally I just wanted to critique on the issue to please tell maintenance to CONTACT the tenants before entering the homes. Ive had several occasions where maintenance has barged in on me and my roommate while we were sleeping and have us jumping out of bed in shock. I get that when things need to be fixed, they should get fixed asap, but a little text message letting us know when theyll be here would be nice. Especially since Ive mentioned several times not to enter the house on no notice unless we answer.
Take advantage of students, dont give house proper maintenance or care!
LOOK THEM UP ON RIPOFF REPORT.Absolutely the worst experience Ive ever had with any company, ever. Also, they keep deleting my review and working extra hard with their reputation management company who sifts through the bad reviews. Well, dont forget to look them up on ripoff report. Its public.
Did great job interviewing tenants
I leased a one bedroom apartment on 35th and Baring St. for about 18 months and had an excellent experience. From day 1 the apartment was in great condition, huge space for the price, the building was always in good condition, they were always flexible with my needs and my requests were always taken care of in a timely fashion. I needed to move out a couple of month early and they helped accommodate me to the best of their ability and they even wrote a reference letter for a new apartment and helped me in the process of selling my furniture to the new tenant. The staff was always friendly and pleasant, in particular Dimitra Tzimoulis and Michael Vizzoca with whom I had most communication. Of all the leasing agencies in University City, New Age was by far the best I dealt with.
The man showing the apartments was lovely
Worst experience ever! Im so disgusted with this company in more than a ton of ways. Just horrible.
You guys are awful. Period. Dont apologize. Please, dont apologize.
They told my girlfriend that having mice and ants in her apartment (at move-in) wasnt an emergency situation and that she would have to wait 2 days for a maintenance person to assist her.
This company is completely clueless and useless. They do not respond in a timely manner and literally have no idea how to manage properties.
Racist vibes from staff rude nasty....over all experience less then satisfactory.....
The worst company to rent from never fix any problems my apartment has mold and a hole in the kitchen my bathroom also have mold will be moving out asap never rent from these people and to top it off they have a nasty way of talking to people when u call about a problem dont ever rent a apartment at 1209 s 58th st the building is not worth the money they are asking for the building does not have heat in the hallway and in the winter time if its freezing in the building its cold in ur apartment
2 out 3 people gave them alright reviews?!? Ill give it a try and see for myself!
Very unprofessional. The receptionist refused to contact me regarding the status of the application. After running my credit and telling me I needed to provide additional information they still did not call me back. Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy !
I am disappointed with the service. The staff did not provide me with adequate information and when I showed up they were rude to me.
I have a maintenance problem, and their maintenance person talked to me extremely inappropriately. They acted like Im, not paying rent every month.
Place is a rip off. Refused to do a walk-through and nickle and dimed us for very ridiculous charges. Avoid at all cost, they overcharge and then if you refuse to pay they put report it on your credit score.
These guys just dont return phone calls ..
Great company! Easy to work with!
I recently signed a lease with New Age Realty, in the lease it clearly states that the rent for first & last month is due before moving in. My move in date is not till 2 months from now and they call me demanding rent for last month while I am out of country for vacation. RIDICULOUS. I havent even moved in yet!!!! Fingers crossed.
I should have read all the reviews... Horrible!!!
