Close to classes. Staff was quick to get back to me with certain maintenance requests.
Staff is super friendly and accommodating!! Rooms are Very spacious and furniture is modern which adds a nice flare! I would highly recommend to any newcomers!
I lived here for a year and I can agree why this place only has 2.5 stars-Hot water runs out after 10 minutes and won’t come back for hours (forget about having a decent shower if you have multiple roommates). -The location of this building is right next to the Septa Rail Yard so you’ll be hearing the screeches of the trains 24/7.-Walls between rooms are paper thin.-Wifi isn’t the greatest-apartmentratings.com will have more info on why you should avoid this placeTLDRBuilding management cares more about themselves and $$$ than their tenants. For the price you pay, you could find better apartments nearby.
The maintenance staff is quick to respond and address any issues weve had. Dylan was very helpful in getting our maintenance request set up and completed.
Great customer service! Amal was very helpful and made my experience pleasant. Thanks again!
This place is great! Customer service is 👍🏻 and the apartments are super nice and spacious. :)
Everyone has been very helpful with everything during COVID, especially with the abatement and resident relief I was offered. It was much appreciated!
I called the office for help getting my daughter to apply for next year. Elena was very helpful explaining the floorplans. The website is a little confusing to follow on each floorplan, but she was great!
Good place! The customer service is great as well👍🏻👍🏻Thank you Amal for the help!
The email responses were quick and detailed. The staff has been there to help since day one #StayGrassy
I had an amazing experience while living in University Crossings. The staff was always very helpful and friendly. The study areas were a great resource that came in handy often. I loved the social events that they set up because it allowed me to meet other people who were living there. It was so much better than a traditional college dorm. The decor was great and the units are very spacious. I would highly recommend living here.
Best apartment building on campus hands down. The amenities are amazing and super practical not to mention the beautiful interior design. I utilized the many study rooms and common areas within the building to do group work or just to socialize. I absolutely loved my apartment! It was furnished with modern amenities and lots of sunlight in the living room. Maintenance is very responsive even after office hours. The office staff is extremely welcoming and organized many social events, allowing me to interact with my neighbors. Overall I highly recommend this apartment building over the others!
LOOK OUT FUTURE RENTERS - This floor plan is a scam!!!I rented the 2 bed 1 bath a and the beds turned out to be bunk beds!! The stairs that go up the bed are so painful to climb up that I would rather sleep on the floor. They feel just like prison beds for $900 a month! They also did NOT mention the bunk beds during my tour process. Notice how none of the apartment photos showcase these bunk beds. Thus, I would be wary of this building in general. Good luck!
Bella has been extremely helpful and patient as we work through the details of our son living on campus for 6 months and living at home for co-op. She spent so much time explaining and working with us to get him set up for success. She was cheerful, kind, knowledgeable and efficient. Great experience! Looking forward to our son living at UCross next spring!
Their phones always have someone on the other end to answer questions which is a stellar trait. That is about the only good thing I can say about them. They lost all of my online documents so I had to waste a few hours resigning them. Now my suite-mates and I may not get the layout we want.
Accommodating staff and clean apartments!
University crossing is a great place to live. I love the view and the amenities provided!! The leasing process is a little tricky but Jayda Jones in the leasing office is such a big help that it was really easy to understand
Not worth the price, you can find better alternatives off campus that is close by. Also, some rooms do not have windows. (My room is totally enclosed with only one exit going into the living room.) They do not tell you that youll live in a room without windows. This is a major safety concern for if you needed to escape for any reason.
The suites make living in a dorm atmosphere very pleasant as they are spacious and offer privacy. But most importantly, as a parent safety & security are excellent.
My experience living here has been wonderful so far! This place provides a very comfortable living and it’s location is the best. Right in center of campus, every campus building is only walking distance from here and the social lounges are great to have a good time with friends while academic rooms is a great space! allows me to study in a quiet and comfortable environment! Overall, great experience! Loving my time here!
Management and staff very helpful and responsive. Both of my children have leased here while attending Drexel. Fantastic University City location, spacious rooms, and great amenities.
In spite of signing the lease a year back, room was not assigned till 4 days before move in and that too after having to go to the leasing office and sitting there for three hours. The room was filthy and had beer caps and paper all over the floor. It was not cleaned and the air vents are coated with dust. The cloth hangers in the closets are all broken and has not been fixed even after a complaint was lodged. The deluxe room has nothing deluxe about it and for the rent they are charging, this place is pathetic.
I love the University Crossings apartments! The staff is super friendly and helpful, especially Cierra. She helped with all of my questions and needs!
The staff members make living here more tolerable. They are very friendly and plan out many activities for the residents. One staff member in particular named Naseer is very knowledgeable and helpful.
Lived here for almost two years and have had consistent problems with my water heater not working, the hvac system not working, fire alarms not working (fun fact instead of fixing mine they just deactivated it), and flickering lights. As well as being overcharged for utilities without having the charges explained. The elevators never work and almost weekly we are evacuated due to the faulty fire alarms mentioned before. Staff refuses to address issues, if you email them you will be ignored and if you go in person they’ll pretend to be in meetings. They never answer their phone line. Never let anyone you know move here.
Great property and great staff. I would highly recommend living here, everyone cares about your needs.
University Crossings gives you the most optimal location to get to classes. I love being able to be so close to the center of campus. It is the best when I wake up late for class and I can still make it on time. The rooms have a beautiful look, that is very classy.
The staff at the UCross office are so friendly and helpful, especially Cierra. They made my experience here awesome. I would highly recommend!
University Crossings might have some flaws but it certainly does not deserve the overall low reviews it has. The rooms do not have a lot of light and it is hard to get problems fixed, but the full kitchen, living space, and bedrooms make it worth it. Definitely one of the best places to live on campus at Drexel. If you are considering living in Ucross, take these reviews with a grain of salt since most people who are having an average or good experience living here aren’t going to comment about it. You are mostly hearing from a vocal minority.
I really enjoyed my experiences with UCross! I went to the leasing office to tour, and everyone there was incredibly nice and helpful. Our tour guide knew a lot and was more than happy to answer my questions. I especially enjoyed working Jayda. She is always enthusiastic every time I talk to her. Overall, UCross is a great place to live :)
University Crossings is probably the most convenient place you can live on Drexels campus. The rent is very appropriate based on what Crossings has to offer. All apartments are furnished and very spacious, and you will have a great view of the city no matter where you are placed. The location of Crossing is very advantageous since it is across the street from all my classes. They also started Co-Op leases for select units which is very helpful since you wont have a headache finding someone to take over your lease.
This place is the absolute worst. The thing running for it is that the cheapest rooms are cheaper than the other Drexel Buildings cheapest options. I pay $869 for one of the cheapest rooms available here. It is so bad on every level. I have had problems with this place since NOVEMBER of my Freshman year at Drexel. That is almost an entire year. There are always problems with the elevators. This place blows.
I love living at Ucross! Its a great and friendly environment, those working in the office are great and very approachable, and overall its very convenient!
University Crossings is definitely a college-friendly place to live. Its literally 5 minutes away from all of the academic buildings so you should never ave to worry about waking up early for a commute. The living room & kitchen area is very spacious, and I have a corner room so a lot of natural sunlight comes in not to mention the view of center city. Its a bit pricey but not that much worse than what the University charges for housing.
Good location on campus - very efficient for classes. Get work orders fixed quickly too. The staff is understanding and helpful. The only downsides are the costs and that the electricity bills are not transparent enough (theres a $25 allowance per resident, but almost every month each of us was charged $7-$8 and theres no way to check if that amount is correct). Other than that, I would recommend it.
Not worth it. I waited till the last minute and ended up only paying 699 a month way for the B rooms. cheaper than everyone else. They scam you by making you think you need to apply right away. Also said they would pay me with an amazon gift card if I wrote a good review because they know everyone hates living here. Also everything breaks down ex. Heaters, sinks, bathrooms, electricity, windows. Plus you always get an overcharge on utilities. I was even charged for a carpet stain that was left from the tenant before me. Only good thing is the location. Live off campus!! Way cheaper!!
Great place to live on campus! Very convenient, as it is close to all the academic buildings and provides easy access to everything!Maintenance is perfect - very friendly staff, maintenance request are processed within 1-2 days! Would recommend it to the other students.
University Crossings is not a place that anyone would want to live. There is no hot water half of the time. Ive had mice in my kitchen and when I called management to take care of it, they did absolutely nothing. The management is terrible. My room key had a malfunction and it took them three weeks to fix it. The whole time security would try to deny me access to my OWN apartment. Also dont expect to get any of your packages on time, they take at least a week to process each delivery. Elevators are also out of order more often than not. For the price of rent that tenants pay, none of these issues should be a problem. University Crossings truly is an awful apartment complex.
The staff is amazing!!! Alyssa, Bella, Naseer and Sanei (sp?) were so helpful. Had an emergency housing need for my son and the crew went above and beyond all expectations. Thank you. The apartment is so roomy and modern. The view of the city is breathtaking.
Ive recently moved into Ucross, so I dont have too many complaints. There are some weird smells in the hallways at times, but in general the building is bug/rodent free and clean. The gym is great and the staff are helpful! I would recommend this place!
Solid apartment located right on Drexels campus. There is a maintenance staff that takes care of all of your work orders, which is really convenient for me when I am busy with school. There are a lot of resident-life programs throughout the year including making gingerbread houses, breakfast on the go, and pizza parties. Theyre not as social as dorms so you dont need to participate if you dont feel like it.The living space is HUGE for a college-focused apartment. There is a full kitchen and the whole apartment is furnished. I live out of state so this was a big plus for me!Lastly, I HIGHLY recommend taking your time and asking questions when it comes to choosing a floor plan because there are so many different options. Overall, I am very happy with my experience here, and my roommates and I will be staying here for another year!
Significant improvement after renovations. Spacious living room and bedrooms, ample space and storage for my belongings. Doors are a little thin and utilities are a killer, but if you watch how much electricity you use, youll be fine. Worst part is probably the price but damn convenient waking up 5 minutes before class.
University Crossing in my first month of living there has been for the most part positive. The leasing office staff have been very responsive and well organized in dealing with my questions/concerns also the facilities at University Crossings is really good. There havent been problems with my apartment and the people here are great. Wifi has been one issue that I wish was a bit better but everything else has been wonderful! Highly recommend.
I live in a 6 person apartment here with my 5 best friends and it couldnt get any better! Our neighbors are nice, and its a big change from living in the dorms, I love having a bigger space. I do think it is worth the expensive price because I feel safe with the front desk and security, I am able to call someone to fix things in the apartment if need be, and my roommates and I do not have a problem with using too much electricity. If anything the hot water with run out quickly if there is more than one person using a shower but it is a problem that can be easily fixed if we dont all shower at the same time. the gym downstairs is also a nice convenience too. Its pretty cool here!
University Crossings is a nice place to live. Its close to Drexel Campus and the place offers great amenities. Management is pretty nice and they have nice events for residents. We had a problem with getting hot water and management was quick to respond but it took several work orders to get fixed. Apart from the occasional false fire alarm, Ive never had any problems living here.
The only good thing about this building is that my classes are in the basement. Other than that, the maintenance staff never fix problems in full (our door lock broke while we were on break, and then was repaired incorrectly and now the lock position is unlock, and the unlocked position is locked), the elevators have been broken for 5 weeks, there are no ceiling lights in the bedrooms (even in the windowless bedrooms), or in the living room, packages take forever to get checked in, the WiFi is really inconsistent, and it is WAY overpriced for having to share a bedroom. Also, be prepared to be bombarded with emails and phone calls trying to get you to renew your lease a month after you move in, and to pay way too much to do your laundry in machines that can barely fit a weeks worth of clothes.Overall, I would recommend living here if you really have no other option, but try living in a box before you commit to U Cross.
I currently live in University Crossings and my experience thus far has been phenominal, and I contribute that great experience completely to the dedicated and caring staff that work in the office. I specifically want to commend Rinal, Naseer, Ciera, and Anthony for their helpfulness and kindness in everything. I look forward everyday to waving at one of them through the glass as I walk by the office. Great atmosphere because of them.
DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLEHorrible management with no compassion or understanding. We notified management in January 2016 that my son would not be taking up occupancy and the lease allows for no method of remedy for individuals who withdraw from the Drexel program despite providing a full 9 months notice prior to the start of the lease.I was FINALLY provided with your re-let form in August 2016 it was well past the time when it would be possible to be placed on the re-let list with any realistic expectation of the apartment actually being re-let.I understand you and your agency don’t actually care about the residents or the duress this policy results but perhaps the general public will.
ANY POSITIVE REVIEW WAS MOST LIKELY BRIBED WITH A GIFTCARD!!! There is a lot wrong with University Crossings. Usually not one to complain but the management is so terrible here. They do not care about the tenants whatsoever and any inconvenience that you may have, they will not help you. It takes them anywhere from a day to a week to process any packages that you have shipped, so dont expect anything on time. Also, there is barely any hot water, the elevators are out of order more often than not, Ive seen mice in my kitchen and management did nothing to ensure they got out. They also neglected to fix my girlfriends key for about three weeks and they would give her a hard time getting into her OWN apartment. Then after they fixed it, it broke again a week later and had to be fixed again. After they fixed it, it still didnt work. Unbelievable. University Crossings is charging for what should be a luxury apartment, but you get trash.
Where do I begin?! First of all, the staff is so unprofessional and rude. I havent even moved in yet and I am already treated with disrespect. My roommates and I just want to switch rooms. That is all we are asking for. Not a million dollars...just a simple switch. But...No, we can not accommodate your request at this time. I hope you understand. Then when can you they accommodate my request, when I move out? I am paying $869 (didnt even get the early bird special) and I can not get someone to do one simple task for me. I also called them and I was told that they stop taking requests a month ago. Well excuse me for not knowing. You guys sent out a thousand emails about paying rent but none about helping your guest with their rooming situation. Also, to whoever reads these, I know what you are gonna say. Feel free to contact customer service...blah blah blah. I will but whats the guarantee that I will get what I want. Feel free to contact me if you want to discuss this matter any further. I was also told last year BEFORE signing the lease that the rooms can be switched. Clearly UCross is not holding their end of the bargain.
Pros: Safety, Package Room, Gym, Full Kitchen, Good Location, nice people in the office (don’t blame them- the company is the real culprit)Cons: filthy rooms, no windows in some bedrooms, poor ventilation, finicky water heater, half sized sinks, maintenance will only respond once in a blue moonOverall livable but certainly not the most comfortable stay.
I just recently moved into University Crossings and I love it. The kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathrooms are all huge with a lot of space. Everything was just renovated so nothing is old or torn apart. There are numerous study rooms throughout the complex and the washers and dryers are of great size for laundry. I would highly recommend this apartment complex to a friend, and especially students at Drexel considering the apartments are very affordable.
I wanted to take a moment and commend Mrs. Bella Chasteau for her extraordinary efforts to accommodate my daughters housing requests at the Crossings. I think it is important to understand the demands of her position, and the assumptions that parents may have. Mrs. Chasteau took the time after regular business hours to explain the housing complexities that she has to face every academic year. These are not simple decisions. They involve a myriad of calculations, compromises and organizational skills. Some students decide to stay in current rooms, while other decide to move out. The demand on rooms always exceeds availability. A four bedroom apartment may have only one vacancy. How can you put two students who want to room together if there is only one available spot? Even the sex of the student plays a major role as no parent wants their son or daughter to room with persons of the opposite sex. Working far in advance is the key. Mrs. Chasteau begins her calculations eight to nine months before the school year begins. It is not fair to judge her decisions weeks before move in. I found Mrs. Chasteau to be extremely intelligent, and willing to compromise. She offered my daughter options and compromises that gave her a greater chance to achieve her requests. Mrs. Chasteau lives on site and works long hours. My daughter and I found Mrs. Chasteau and her staff to be extremely competent. It was truly a pleasure to work with her.
I dont even know how this place could have gotten 1.7 stars if anything I would give them zero stars. This place charges you left and right for utilities and charges your account even after discussion with the office one thing but they change me still. The customer service is terrible.
Very disappointed with the management and how they handle situations. Heat breakdown for the second time this school year, both times in winters. Kids are forced to go elsewhere to be comfortable as their apartments, that they are paying rent for diligently, are freezing cold!! when asked why the kids are not being provided with room heaters so that they can at least sleep comfortably in their beds - i was told very curtly that in a big place as university crossings, things happen and they are looking into resolving the problem. And they do not have any heaters to give to kids. - NO APOLOGIES OFFERED.
The space is great. I love my apartment, big bathroom, queen size bed, closet space. Its annoying that there are no lights in the bedrooms and the living room has a bad draft from the windows. This winter the heat has had a lot of issues, sometimes dropping down to 63. I think all residents had this issue so it took a long time before maintenance got around to our room. Even then they only fixed it temporarily and the heat would go off again periodically, but we havent had that issue for some time now.
I am a current resident and the apartments are wonderful. I have the model style apartment so there are windows in every room. Some apartments lack windows so if you get in early its one of the best apartments to choose! There are stainless steel appliances and grant counter top in the kitchen and spacious bed rooms. There is a hallway closet for extra storage. The building staff is extremely nice and do repairs quickly. I would highly recommend this if you are a going to Drexel and want to be close to campus!
Unresponsive management - apartment was not ready to move in with dirty floors, kitchen cabinets and bathrooms, cable did not work, lock on the front door was broken. We tried to get management attention for a few months without any success. We stopped complaining due to lack of time.On move out, management entered the room still occupied by a roommate and collected multiple personal items including highly valuables. Some of the items belonged to the roommate. Items were loosely packed in several bags and billed for at $25 per bag.Half of the elevators did not work. Fire drills happened without warning throughout the coldest winter months. Main entrance was closed for several months without prior notice. Back entrance was not secured and allowed multiple revolving door visitors. There are better places to rent around campus.Avoid the Cross.
Our apartment is quite spacious, and has a nice view of the center city. Location is a big plus, since it’s close to almost all main academic buildings. They even have their own gym which is quite convinient.
Poorly designed. My daughter has a windowless room and there are no ceiling lights. No lights around the bathroom vanity and lights in the bathroom are dim. Drawers in kitchen dirty please don’t give Kids free monster drinks! Water bottles would have been nice. Thank goodness we are moving out. This place is gross surprised there aren’t rats with the trash room overflowing
This place is a great place to live. The rooms are amazing, especially for where they are. Right on Drexel’s campus, University Crossings is a few minutes by subway or by foot away from center city. It’s an ideal location and a great place to live.
Worst management ever. They lied about what my floor plan would be and gave me a shared bedroom with no windows and a massive square pillar in it, making the two double bed barely fit for $800 a month per person. They should me a gorgeous room with big windows and no pillars. Next year I am signing a lease for my own room in an entire house with a window for 600 a month.
Terrible place, this is an extreme rip off. I would give them zero stars if possible. They are absolutely bad. NEVER STAY HERE
If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I normally dont post negative reviews for places but this one was such an awful experience, that I had to. They will nickle and dime you for the smallest of things, awful service and not transparent. No understanding from their side and they sent me a bill with unnecessary charges where I had to email back and forth to understand why I was being charged for half the things, after which I still have some questions that werent answered.
One of the worst places to live in terms of management. The building itself is decent but management are complete frauds. They squeeze out every last penny from you. They are unresponsive and arrogant. It takes ages to get simple things done. The only reason they get business is because they are the only apartment building close by to Campus otherwise these people should no longer be in business. They take out $100s from your security deposit with reasons such as bag in tag, which is essentially throwing away common left behind things. If you can stay away from this place. Management needs additional education or needs extensive training in business.
Shut down amenities months early to renovate for next year, constant noisy construction all day beginning at 8:00 am, renovations inside the apartment units during active leasing term - for which we had to vacate all personal belongings from the space.Zero compensation or rate reduction for any of the above. These are merely the most recent of my grievances. This specifically might not happen to you, but it demonstrates that they do not care about their tenants beyond getting your name on the lease.TL;DR - Do not live here for any reason. There are better, cheaper, more convenient options elsewhere, I promise you.
The worst possible student housing in Philadelphia. Dont even try to go to the Leasing Office for any questions, they will refer you to email the managers, that 1. do not email back or 2. reply with a standard email. The damage in my room was horrendous. In 2013 there was a fire, so they had to redo a lot of apartments. Thinking mine would be nice since it was redone, WRONG! There was paint on all of the furniture, burn marks still left in the old carpet, part of the walls that havent been repainted, and HOLES in my ceiling! I sublet after 5 months and it was the best decision I have ever made.
The only good things are that the living room and beds are big. However, the service is very inefficient. The bathrooms and the kitchen have old and rusty appliances. Our room has not had working heat for over a month, and it took us 4 work orders to get them to start fixing it.
Living at University Crossings has been amazing so far. My bedroom has windows all around my room and has really nice view. There are two beds and desks in my room. The beds are full-size so it’s more than enough to fit two that it is really nice to bring a friend for sleepover. Desks seem pretty new and big and I like to study on the desk in my room. There are plenty of space you can store your stuff in the room. There is one closet and a closet room that each person get to take one to keep their clothes. There are four drawers underneath the bed and it’s really convenient to put stuff you need it often. One of the things I love the most about Ucross is study lounge in each odd floor. Sometimes when my roommate bring a friend over and I cannot focus on doing my work, I just go down the floor and study at the study lounge. I don’t have to walk all the way to the library. Also, there is free gym on the second floor and the gym is pretty clean and has plenty of machines. I don’t have to go out to the Drexel gym in a cold or rainy weather to work out. Everything I need is pretty much within the building and it’s great.
Horribly run apartment. Never were able to help me get with my roommates or my friends with their roommates. All of us will be paying top dollar to live in an apartment with people we do not know. Was a gamble that the resource center knew what they were talking about; one said one thing the phone said another. Never got concise help, and were always vague about how I go about reletting or obtaining the lease i wanted. This was all only after becoming a victim of not winning the email lottery and getting a lease on the release day, and then getting a floorplan lease later i didnt even want. Was also on a waitlist for the lease i wanted and was never contacted. All of their leases are a mess that is dependent on who gets an email faster.
Increasingly expensive and youll probably go over your electricity bill (HVAC and hot water boiler uses electricity). But the atmosphere, rooms, and amenities are great. No vermin spotted.
ATTENTION READERS: I was not bribed with a measly $10 amazon gift card by American Campus, thus this review is completely accurate. Showers don’t have hot water, horrible management, fire drills in the middle of the night multiple times a week, so many so that people are starting not to evacuate the building, which could be a problem if there was an actual emergency. Floor smells of weed all the time, sink doesn’t drain, no “free” printing because there is no printer, I could go on but you get the point-awful place. Also, just want to add that our lovely Christmas matt was stolen outside of our apartment. This isn’t crossings fault, BUT you certainly know the kind of people you’re living with if you chose to live here, I certainly wish I didn’t live in this place. Management only pretends to care on Google reviews because it is public and everyone can see it including future residents. Truth is I’ve put in 5 work orders for our hot water problem and you didn’t care then. Also this is an edit- but the elevators always break and nobody bothers to fix them. Also an edit- the only good reviews on here are either from people whom Crossings paid with an $10 Amazon gift card (not worth it in my opinion, they should make it more) or fake accounts set up by Crossings. Update: 2 of 4 elevators broken AGAIN
Where should I start?from the day I moved in, they have been squeezing money out of me. Paying extra $60-$100 every single month when i am hardly in my room.My key stopped working hardly a month after I moved in and they finally fix it when I have a month to finish my lease. They keep locking the entrances and honestly, i do not see why the building has only one entrance. No more than 2 elevators working at a time and those fire alarms are just annoying. Every single time I was either trying to sleep or in the shower...fire alarm!!!In all honesty, live here only if you have no other choice and have the money to throw away. The office will pretend to work on your problems and finally miraculously fix all of them when your lease is about to expire. I do not need a working key and shower when I am packing my things to move out. I need a key when I am actually living in the building!!!The hot water lasts less than 10mins and if in the winter your heater does not work, just prepare to freeze because it will be fixed 3 months later and for some reason, your electricity bill when it was not working will be 6 times the usual.Hallways are sooooo stuffy and they stink. Horribly!Any good things? It is right on campus, so thats good.I am so glad I moved out of this place. Just run away from this apartments. Run away!
If youre looking for an apartment conveniently located on the Drexel campus, then this is a great choice. The rooms are spacious and the kitchen/common area is very nice. Some other nice perks are a quality gym on the second floor and a game room with ping pong tables, pool tables etc. It is a bit pricey, but worth it since it is one of the best buildings on campus. If you have a problem with your room the maintenance staff usually fixes it within a day. One of my only complaints is that you get billed small amounts every month for the utility bill. They allow $25 dollars worth of electricity for each resident per month, so you have to pay when you go over and it is pretty hard to stay under. Other than that it is a great place to live. Good location and nice rooms.
Nice, easy to talk to management. When asked to fix anything, the workers come to my room to fix the problem within hours if it is a small issue. They would come to fix the chairs, the toilets and more. For big jobs, they replaced our entire couch with a new couch and a new sink the day after we requested maintenance. It is a nice view and the closest to Drexel University campus.
Right now I have mixed feelings about University Crossings. The application and move-in process was a nightmare. We were consistently told different information about the apartment style we chose from staff and could never get a solid answer. We were told that if we got a standard room, that we would have a window and not the high up skylights. For this reason was committed to a standard to find out during the summer the that both rooms only had skylights. One of our rooms also has a column and almost no walking space (we can barely open our closets). We were told there would not be a column. My roommates and I contacted the leasing office and were consistently given a hard time despite the staff misleading us multiple times. The office even started not answering one of our calls! Their email response time is also very slow. I sent an email at least a month ago requesting all my records (because I am expecting further issues unfortunately) and would like to have further documentation of everything.Despite all of the disappointments below, I still gave the place three stars because of its location, amenities, and space (besides the bedroom). The kitchen is a nice size for four students and our living room is so huge that we cant afford to furnish it further. The maintenance staff responds to requests quickly and the staff has always been friendly to me. I dont think that the staff are bad people, however I think they should be better trained to handle these situations as they have mislead my roommates multiple times and never gotten back to us about certain requests or complaints. Obviously since some of our problems have gone unsolved we are not satisfied with the offices and will be contacting ACC.
The apartment was very dirty when we moved in and the stove was also super sticky. The kitchen is really small and has no pantry. However, the location is very convenient since its right across the street.
They need zero stars. rooms are terribly designed. They are poorly spaced so you can have a tiny room and a giant bathroom of all empty wasted space. Most rooms get no natural light. Never once saw or heard them clean the hallways. Never once did all 4 elevators work at the same time. Every wall is paper thin. We had a water main break in the winter and i am almost positive the cost made it into everyones utility bill that month. The lower price and lack of utilities might make University Crossings worth the price.
I love it at Ucrossings. The gym is amazing and always very clean! Great place to live!
I love how conveniently located the building is for a Drexel student, the walk to any building on campus is never more than 10 minutes tops. But, the workers at UCross can be slow to get back to you. Weve had maintenance requests that take a couple of days to complete or even be acknowledge. Things like this make you question if the price is worth it.
Absolutely horrible. Room heat has been broken for a week, water heater only provides 10 minutes of hot water, and expect bureaucratic SNAFUs like requiring photo ID to pick up packages despite other forms of identification such as physically having a phone with the package notification email accessible. Absurdly high rent prices compared to what can be rented privately just a block or two off campus. Run, and dont look back.
Administrative system is a mess, infrastructure is falling apart, and I am paying a premium price for a sub-par living environment. Constantly asking you to renew (after living there for a week) and promising new renovations and a lower price with all utilities included. Why am I paying more then for less? Shouldnt the higher quality rooms next year cost more than the aging rooms instead of sticking the residents who are forced to live with daily construction with the bill? Seems much more focused on ripping off the average student (whose parents foot the bill and probably wont notice their childs living conditions) than actually supporting an atmosphere for students to work and live. I had to make multiple work order requests for our broken heat which they then charged us for the excess electricity on our utility bill. Also wish I was told that elevators would be down constantly, utilities shut off periodically for renovation, and the office hours completely impractical for a student that works an 8 hour job and has class. If I hear Sorry for the inconvenience one more time Im going to lose my mind.Would highly recommend you pay a little more for another living situation or just stay in upperclassmen dorms.
Disgusting, overpriced, and extremely poorly built. I would not recommend living here unless it is a last resort(and this goes for Summit & Chestnut Square as well). When arriving, our apartment was dirty and had multiple broken appliances & cabinets. The leasing office also doesnt stop calling/emailing you or your family members to try to get you to sign a renewal lease. Sadly, this place is one of the only allowable places to live under Drexels 2 year housing agreement.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Elevators have been broken for months. Building itself is tacky. Not a lot of natural light. Basically an office building with cheap modern furniture. Honestly, its super depressing. The staff is hit or miss - some are nice and genuine and some are really rude. Package check-in is slow. Youll get a package delivered in the morning and you wont get it until the next day or the day after, despite someone working in the package room. Takes 0 effort to scan a box with an iPad but often youll walk past and someone is just sitting their on their phone with unscanned packages strewn in a pile. Also flooding? And fire alarms because the basement got too hot? WiFi slow too. For $850-$1000 a month you can do way better.
Lived here for 2 years and I wouldve been better off living in a box and burning all the money I spent in rent. Ill start by saying the rooms are spacious and the building is located in the heart of campus. I had a problem with a roommate (smoked cigarettes in the room & much more) when I lived here and needed to move out asap as it got that bad. They were extremely unconcerned and unable to help switch my room. So I took it upon my self to move down a couple floors to a friends room who had a empty room. I also commuted from home for a while, all while paying rent and I still havent got any money back. What a disgrace.
So far UCrossings is alright. The living room and kitchen are nice and spacious. However, on the second day of moving in my roommate and I found a cockroach in our bathroom.
Very modern and clean Great place.
It’s been very convenient living in University Crossings. I appreciate the fact that the building isn’t far from classes and has affordable housing plans.
I enjoy living in this place, especially being on the 14th floor and having tall ceilings! This place offers modern apartments, with great furniture and appliances.
The kitchen and living area is very nice and spacious. Deluxe bedrooms are definitely worth the extra price. The air and heating system is faulty leaving us with no heat in the winter for two 1 week periods. Not having a washer and dryer in the unit is a downside but bearable. The elevators stop working occasionally. The building was evacuated when the fire alarm went off several times in the span of a few days, sometimes the middle of the night. We were never informed of the issue or given any sort of reimbursement.
Elevators constantly broken, unenjoyable living situation overall
It seems like the elevator wont be fixed till the Drexel bankrupt...
After living in this apartment for a year, the only thing worth it is the view and the convenience to Drexel’s campus. The AC broke like 5 times, the staff responsible for different aspects (i.e. the property manager, the property bookkeeper) were never in the office during office hours and were unreliable to respond to emails, our room got overcharged for utilities multiple times, and they will charge you excess amounts of money (an $1000 unnecessary fee, in my case) if you’re not on top of your game.
The apartments are not very clean. Even during move in day. when youd expect everything to be clean, our cabinets were sticky and the drawers a mess. The drawers were also loose, as well as the door handle. My roommate and I also had key issues on the first day. Even worse, they just raised the monthly rent by about $70 for everyone. Im questioning if its even worth it if theyre going to keep raising the prices.
University crossings has numerous problems that it never has and never will take responsibility for. Apartments are always in horrible condition upon move in as they don’t put effort into cleaning them well. They are horrendously slow to do any matinence. They charge an obscene price for their rooms that are “spacious” (they are clearly designed to make the worst use of their sq ft. Ex. Huge hallways and uselessly narrow parts of rooms). They have ridiculous upcharges on co-op rooms as they have a near monopoly on them. They turkey do not care about their tenents as they will always have more than enough do to Drexel’s housing shortage.
The apartments are spacious and come nicely furnished. I recommend an apartment with windows in the bedroom.
Someone hit the fire sprinkler in their room on December 15th and it flooded the building from the 6th floor down. It is currently February 5th and two of the 4 elevators on this 17 story building are still not working. We have just under 2000 residents in this building using 2 elevators to go 17 floors plus a basement. It is unexpectable and the only reason they get away with it is because Drexel makes their students live there
Complete scam. They will try to get money out of you any way they can. The staff is completely incompetent and unprofessional.
The worst management of all, high price. Utilities is a rip-off. Internet SUCKS. They never listen to the students. Wonder why Drexel tied up with them for housing. Must have received a kick-back from UCross. The building smells of vomit, mold. Wonder how the health department lets this happen. Fleece the students is the name of the game.
Worst year of my life! I was overcharged every month for utilities, the staff refused to deal with any issues that came up, I lost my key and they made me come to the office 4 times and every time they didn’t have the replacement and would send me away just to call me back, some staff disregard residents, etc. WORST PLACE TO LIVE!
