I went inside for a pedicure and asked that the chair I was seated in be sanitized and I hey refused. Told me it had been already. I knew it hadnt because the area where I was to rest my arms had someones water bottle and you could see the greasiness on the arm rest area. I stated this and asked again for it to be cleaned and once it was clear to me that they were refusing to spray and wipe it off even again for my sake I left .

Im always satisfied with this nail salon. I usually get my nails there when Im around. Good selection of colors with fair price.

You have workers that pay more attention to each other than the customers. I had a tech watching tv on his phone while doing my nails. He did not polish the entire nail. Then told my baby to leave me alone and be quiet.

This place is horrible. Their tools are not sanitized between use, staff are unprofessional. I had to ask the lady from proceeding with my pedicure- she was visibly upset and arguing with another staff. The lady next to me walked out and did not have her pedicure finished and so did I. Could not get out of there fast enough.

Hands down Boy and Lee are the best ones in there to get your nails done by! Lisa does a great job as well, but boy and Lee shape the nails way better than everybody else. They take a little while to finish pedicures but its worth it at the end because its so neat and crispy. It usually takes on average an hour for them to do just your nails and about 30 minutes or more to do your pedicure.

The service is horrible! I got a pedicure and ended up with a hole on the side on my foot. I would never go back... for the quality of service they are overpriced!

First of all not everyone has the same experience. But this was a horrible experience for me usually I like to get my nails done first to determine the color. So I did start with my nails but half way through they had me go start my pedi thats when I examined nails and it was bad they were crooked I didnt like the design either I showed a picture of what I wanted and it looked nothing like it so he did try to change it so I tried to go with it so I was done my pedi and not to mention he was trying to do my nails while I was getting the pedi not quality work so then he proceeded to put diamonds on when I knew he was done with the filing and seen what he was about to leave my nails looking like I ask to have them removed so basically he ripped off the newly applied acrylic SMH that hurt then got up and walked away thats when I flipped out he finally removed the remaining acrylic gently this time after everything I paid 35 for a pedi I do my self in the shower she did paint my nails pretty good tho SMH 🤦 Ill never come back but I did find a great local place to get my nails done Ill post a pic of quality work Its on Taft St the name is US Nails ask for Yen she is amazing

Absolutely horrified. I got a simple gel refill by nail tech MiMi and after TWO DAYS I noticed that two nails were lifting at the cuticle so I went back to repair.The guy at the front with the glasses first attempted to put glue under the nails as a simple fix but I told him not to as I know that causes fungus. With an attitude, he then repaired the nails and they were fine.THREE DAYS LATER I noticed MORE nails lifting so I went back and Troy who took care of it (nice guy).A DAY AFTER I noticed ALL of the unrepaired nails were lifting so I went BACK for a solution and was met with horrible customer service and the nail tech with glasses SCREAMING at me in the middle of the salon telling me I wasted money on a fill and should get a full new set instead for $$40 after I spent money on a fill less than ONE WEEK prior.After back and forth I left with my nails filed off and undone.I would give zero stars if possible for the horrible customer service and lack of responsibility for such bad work. I was a new customer as my aunt and grandma recommended me, none of us will return.

I would give ZERO stars if I could. They should be shut down. The colors don’t match the swatches, they give you the worst attitude if you even ask for a 3rd coat. Even the manager is rude as hell. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. They do not deserve your money. They made it clear they do not like Americans. They will talk about to in their language in front of the whole shop. It’s sad we’d pay hard earned $$ to people who down talk us behind our back. I found a much better place with people who know how to do nails and make me feel relaxed / welcome. These people don’t care about you at all.

Very unprofessional. I’ve been going here for years until Lisa sold it. Even after I still went. I got a pedicure I was next in line for nails they took someone before me. Which fine I waited patiently again then they told me someone else is going before me again. They’re very money hungry people. When you walk in they barely want to greet you. I will never go back to this shop. They deserve 0 stars. They guy who sits at #8 is very good but he’s the one who put two people in front of me when the salon was empty they need better management.

I went there today for the first time. As soon as I walked in a gentleman name Whisky greeted me. I went in there looking for Phillip,but ended up with Whisky. He does great work and hes so personable.He has matte finish and he does Ombre too. My nails look amazing.Im super happy I found such a wonderful place close to home...New customer for life!!

Yesterday I had the worst experience at this nail salon. I went for a pedicure and was placed in a chair with a broken or inoperable foot spa.I politely spoke to the nail specialist Amy that the foot spa is not working. The massage chair also was not working well. The nail specialist ignored me on three occassions when I attempt to tell her. Amy then decided to discontinue my service and flipped and said I am not doing your feet. This was so unprofessional. The client is first and you should provide good service. If you have an inoperable foot spa it would be easier to move the person rather than refusing the service. I then spoke to the manager and she failed to rectify the matter. She state that the workers are in depended contractors and they can refuse the service. BEWARE of this salon and unprofessional Amy...This review is authentic not false reporting like the previous review done by a family member.

An awesome place to go to... I have been going there for years.

Me and a friend went to get a fill and a gel polish change. The tech that did my nails put the gel polish over my cuticles and on my skin then tried only doing 2 coats which made the color not come out so I had to ask her for a third and I asked for them to be squared off but she butchered them and I had to go home and file them myself. My friend wanted white nails which she told the other tech several times but he kept trying to do other colors.

I wanted to love this place so bad. Its not hygienic at all but the nail techs were so nice and accommodating. Ive lived in this neighborhood for so long so every nail place Ive been to have been trash. I was desperate and needed my acrylics to be soaked off and also a pedicure.

I have been going to this nail salon for about 10 years but after today I will not step foot in this establishment again!! My nail tech hi quit so I’ve been going to other nail techs that’s working to see if I can stick to someone else but today was a terrible experience. Upon my arrival the owner Lisa seated me with Annie as Annie was almost done soaking my nails off Lisa made her stop and put someone else in the chair for her to give a mani and pedi to that was strike one. Shortly after Annie asked Toni which is the other owner can he do my nails he replied he have an appointment coming now I’m sitting there waiting again to get my nails done.. Lisa told me once Amy husband was done with the pedicure he was doing he will be the one to do my nails. Once he was done he began my nails. I requested a pink gel overlay my nails are pretty short. Once he was done he told me the overlay was $35, I said for what? I’ve never paid $35 for a overlay and his response was a overlay is a full set! When have a overlay been considered a full set I politely paid $35 for the overlay and $5 to take off the nails plus a tip and walked out with no intention of returning. I’ll miss Nancy and Amy they were always great but no more university nails for me.

The older guy kept trying to make me get gel nails I was going to to get acrylics but based on how he did my feet I said no he polished sloppy and talked trash when I said no to gel both times ..super unprofessional don’t waste your money here

I called to make an appointment at 6:30. They close at 8. I arrived at 6:20 and the lights were off and the doors were locked.

Pedicurist took his time. They open at 10am on Sunday. These are all great things.

I’m very picky so I don’t go here often, BUT after my last visit, I def won’t be coming back here again. The dude in chair #6, (I believe he’s the owner ...maybe) charged $27 for a refill even though I told him my nails were thin due to the use of less acrylic so, 3 nails snapped in two days and he had the audacity to try to charge for the nail repairs after I had previously mentioned that he made them very weak. Money THIRST. Non cordial. Not “people” people aka Money hungry people. Don’t come here please, ESPECIALLY if ur picky like me ....

I would have give them a 4 if I had the guy that did my nails from the very begining and the salon was clean.The first lady that did my nails was using an old nail polish and my nails were horrible, I kept on telling her, but she refused to even listen instead she will speak in her language like if she was cursing at me, very uncomfortable.I told her if she could clean better my nails because I had a darker color previously and you could still see it, She ignored me, I had to do it myself.Then, she applied 3 uneven coats of the lighter color, horrible.I asked the guy at the cashier, He seemed to be the owner,if he could look for a newer nail polish, it was really dry and thick.After probably more cursing from the lady, she rudely to another person to do my nails, a guy named Whiskey, he did a good job. He apologyzed because frankly my nails were horrible!!!!!.If I have to return to this place, I would have my nails done only by him and bring my own tools, and nail polish for sure!!!!

It used to be a good salon to get your mani pedi done but they now hurt the skin around your nails and charge a different price from what they have on the board. Its a rip off. Im never coming back.

Very dirty place and staffs are very unprofessional. They do a messy job and in such a hurry to get there phone, and go. the place you dry your nails is so dirty also the staff tell you “go dry your nails “ and it’s our job to figure out how to turn it on and keep for how long. Also they knows the quality of their job so they ask you to pay before they do your nails. There was an other customer next to me felt the same way and was telling never going back there.

I have gone to University Nails a couple of times.The first time I went was subpar but I decided to give it another shot and not pass judgement to quickly but since the first time I went their service has gotten worse and worse. Today was the last straw. I came in for a pedicure and a fill, I didnt make an appointment because I had not found someone that I liked enough to go to regularly so I just got o whoever is available. I got my pedicure done first and every nail was a different shape and length. When I asked her to fix them and make them look the same she barely paid attention to my request until I bent down to show her what was wrong with each nail. When she was painting my toes I had to ask her to put on a top coat.The same woman did my manicure/fill. When she asked me if I wanted to cut my nails I told her specifically that I wanted a very small amount cut off. My nails are generally pretty long. She cut them almost all the way down to my nail bed. I did not even know what to say at this point. I was going to try and make the most of it and asked her just to make them square since the damage was already done. Once again my nails were all a different shape and this time a different length as well. I once again pointed out what was wrong and she all but told me that I was imagining it, or not seeing what was actually there.Then when she was painting my nails (gel polish) it was a mess. I know that she is not new, and has done this many times before since she has worked her for many years, so she just didnt care. She applied so much polish that it was bubbling. My nails looked like a 5 year old did them. Clearly frustrated I just paid and left. When I got home and saw how awful they really were I called and spoke with the manager and asked for a refund because this was the WORST service at a nail salon that I had ever received. She told me that they do not do refunds and I should have told her what was wrong when she was doing it.Bottom line these people either do not know what they are doing, or just dont care about the quality of work that they do. (Probably both) The salon is unsanitary and the staff unprofessional. I ended up having to get a full set at another salon to fix the mess that they made.When I went to another salon to get them done they asked if I tried to do them at home myself. I will never go back to University Nails and if you dont want your nails to look like a disaster you shouldnt go there either.
