As a girl it can be the worst going to car places if you know you know. Not here, these guys were awesome. Even stayed after they closed to help me when my car wouldnt start. New manager Adam is great. Had my car ready way faster than I anticipated and kept me updated.

They started off alright but then they wanted to argue with us about the tire that needed to be fixed saying it wasnt flat. But I took it in to get the bead resealed the day before and it was still leaking. They tried saying it was a different tire and not the front left one which still had all the grease on it from the previous day.Then one guy also works for a towing company as well that we had to call ONCE and hes trying to say that hes helped us out 6 times. Very unprofessional and incompetent people. Not to mention an older gentleman that asked us if we left our previous residence to get away from the indians. Highly rude since were Native American ourselves.

Needed emergency brake repairs as I was away from home. Roman took me in without an appointment and promised that my vehicle would be done by days end. The cost of the repairs made was reasonable and as originally estimated. Great job and very grateful to deal with honest, competent mechanics!!!

Our daughter is a student at Oswego and her older model car has needed inspections, oil changes and repairs over the past two years. In each case she received excellent service. We have found them to be very honest and willing to go above and beyond for their customers.

New update (10/22/20200: After a year of good service, it seems Monro is back to their usual ways of lying/not telling the whole story to the customer, not honoring coupons, and being dishonest. I was told I needed to have new wiper blades put onto my car to pass inspection so I asked how much it would cost. I was told $25. After reviewing the bil they were $25.99 with a $3 install charge for a total of $28.99 not $25. I tried to use a $14.99 oil change coupon and was told thats just for the oil and the filter would cost $13.99 on top of the $14.99 for the oil for a total of $28.98 even though it clearly states on the coupon, $14.99, oil and filter. I also needed two tires to pass inspection. When I asked how much these would cost, I was told $233.96 for the tires and balancing and mounting. They did not mention the $11.30 disposal fee. All in all, my bill was $38.13 more than what I was originally told. When we talk about the charges I was told there was nothing they would do about it and if I wanted my car, I would need to pay the bill. $38.13 is nothing for a business but a lot to an individual person, especially in the middle of a pandemic. I was 5 star happy a year ago and now I have to take my 5 star rating away.Update:I have gone to this Monro for years, only for the convenient location. Always had negative reviews about the manager. However, they have a new manager now, Joe. He is pleasant, doesnt over share about his negative work and personal life and flows up with the customer. I was SHOCKED with the positive experience I had with this most recent visit to get my tires replaced. They even threw in a free alignment. Joe was incredibly informative and straightforward with my questions. He called me to let me know my car was done, which NEVER happened under the old manager. I am hopeful that this Monro location is going to be offering better customer service. They didnt call, didnt make my car a priority even though I had an appointment, and were down right non communicative when I left the shop. The only advantage about Monro is they have cheap oil changes. I have been to other Monros and they were great. However, this Monro for over 5 years, has been terrible with communication and common decency. Even through a manager change, the way of business has been very poor.

The staff were exceptionally gratuitous and forthright with the assessment of my vehicle’s repairs. They treated me as a first time customer with the epitome of value and their priorities were to me and not the agenda to make bloated sales. I’ve often felt very accommodated with Monro, but this particular location exceeded expectations.

I went in about a month agora get my oil changed. I had scheduled ahead of time with their online scheduling system, but When I got in, something had gone wrong with the system and for some reason they hadn’t received my appointment, but they took care of it! The man there apologized to me and put me in as soon as possible and let me know how long it would take. They got my car in and out quickly. Very kind and very gracious folks, good service!

Good enough for oil changes and inspections. Prices for other services are very high, such as brakes and rotors, but I would expect that from a chain garage. Id recommend coming here for oil changes and inspections but leaving the actual repair work for a local shop. Im sure they will do a good enough job, but why pay more than you have to?

I set up an appointment on the website for an oil change and I did not have to wait to get the service started. They told me about a stabilizer link that had worn completely off, I asked to see what they were talking about and it was just hanging by the top bolt swinging in the breeze. They had the part available and took care of it. Friendly and helpful staff.

Not going to knock ratings badly because i have yet to have service done. However i did call well over a week ago to ask about tires and if they did the match if they are found lower (some do) well the guy i spoke to took my information, tire size, type, price i found lower and where it was found, he then said let him call someone and he would call RIGHT back as he wasnt sure. Here we are 2 weeks later, still no call back. Unfortunately; ill take my business else where for a place that actually seems to care because he definitely did not seem to care and probably honestly did not write my info down.

Had a appointment at 2pm for 4 new tires and alignment, left it there with no ride came back when they closed at 6:00pm and still haven’t bought it in!!!😡😡 When I got there they finally bring it in! The manager asks me how’s it going while setting in waiting room, I tell him not very good!! The manager asks me if I would like to take the tire that I had delivered there from Tire Rack and be on my way. I told him he shouldn’t take appointments is they didn’t have the time😡😡💩management!!!!

Took my truck there for annual inspection, I get a call saying that my truck is going to fail, that I need inner and outer tie rods on my passenger side. They could fix it and pass my truck but it was going to be 600$. I told them to fail it I could get the parts for cheaper and get it fixed for cheaper. I took it to the first mechanic who told me that both inner and outer tie rods look to be in new condition. Just to be sure I took it to another mechanic who also said the same thing, and passed my truck for inspection. Very disappointed with my service!! Clearly tried to scam me out of 600$, or they have no idea what they’re doing. They will no longer get my business. I’ve gone there for oil changes where they try to sell me extra luckily I know enough to not fall for it. Will not be back for anything from them!

Went and got an oil change without having an appointment set up. They got me in super quick and everyone was super friendly. Highly recommend and they have coupons for a cheap high quality oil change!

I went to Monroe for an alignment and new tires put on my car. While it was there they broke my tire pressure sensor and put in an after market one they could not program. They told me to go to the dealership and have them try to reprogram the sensor they put on and if they couldn’t they would cover the price on the oem sensor the dealership installed and to just keep all the receipts. Now have the work done and brought in the receipts and was told they won’t pay for the new sensor and the install at the tune of $150. But they would pay for the reprogramming for $50. I will not be going back and I would recommend not trusting them with work that has to be done. They tried telling me the dealership lied about not being able to program the sensor they installed. Well that’s kind of funny how you can’t program it saying your machine is down and tell me to go to another Monroe that couldn’t reprogram it but you expect the dealership to be able to program it. I think maybe the sensor just isn’t compatible if Monroe nor the dealership can program it. Stay away from this place. I thought I was getting a good deal here but it ended up costing way more to have the work done there than if I had done it elsewhere after having to dish out another $200 for their screw up.

Ive never had a problem with these guys. Just make sure to make an appointment for your car - theyre busy.Edit: 2017 - I USED to never have a problem with these guys, but it has gone way downhill. The last few times Ive gone in have been nothing but headaches. Maybe they will turn around, but Im not planning on going back.

Very happy with the experience at Munro in Oswego. Chris was a long way from home when his car broke down. They responded quickly when he called at 2:30 pm and took the car right back due to the emergency. The manager Bill did everything possible to get him back on the road that same day. Bill also went out of his way to make sure that Chris was able to get a car rental and get where he needed to go that night while waiting for the part to arrive! Chris highly recommends!

Cannot say enough good things about the guys at Monroe on East Bridge Street in Oswego! As a single mom, its always a concern that Im going to run into a dishonest mechanic more than willing to bleed my wallet dry. A couple of weeks ago, I had taken my 2007 Hyundai Entourage to a local competitor on W 1st St to take advanyage of their $99 front brake special. $500+ later, I was the only thing being taken advantage of thanks to the fine print. The competitior told me the back brakes needed to be done, but never hinted there was any urgency. Four days later, my rear brake pad blew off while backing up with my child in the car. I took it to the guys at Monroe. They were able to get me in the same day, fix the problem and even checked the competitions work for free. (I was told the other guys never made necessary adjustments before finishing the job. This wouldve caused me to wear my new pads down much faster.) Not only did they do an awesome job on my back brakes, but they also fixed the error the other guys made (at no charge). They took the time to check out a couple other areas I was worried about as well and give me fair estimates for the cost of future repairs. Thanks so much to the crew at Monroe being honest, hardworking and trustworthy. This is the only shop Ill be going to from now on!

I was on a cross-country road trip, and only planned to stay in Oswego for a couple of days. On my way there, on a weekend day, my exhaust system became very noisy. On the Monday morning I needed to leave town, Bill (the manager) took wonderful care of me. Jeff brought my car in right away, and from diagnosis, to Jeff’s outstanding work patching the exhaust system, to paying the very reaonable bill, I was on the road in less than 45 minutes. They were very accommodating of my situation, and my family and I are extremely grateful for the terrific way they took care of our needs!

I went here about 3 months ago to get some simple repairs to prepare my car for an inspection and wound up being charged a FORTUNE for sensors and other parts that didn’t seem necessary. To make things worse, my car seemed to get worse than ever just recently. It wasn’t until I went to Mavis (who fixed their mistake for free) that I learned it was all due to the INCREDIBLY loose lug nuts on my front left tire on account of the service i received here. If i let it go any longer my wheel likely would’ve fallen off in the middle of the interstate.

I had 2 bolts on my exhaust rust and break between the converter and the engine. I was told they needed to replace everything including the converter. I argued that it was just 2 bolts, and the guy gave me some nonsense that because they are a publicly traded company, they cannot do any work before the converter without replacing it in fear of being sued by me if something is wrong with the converter. I took it to Mavis and for $99 they replaced the 2 bolts and the gasket between the pipes. If Monro being a publicly traded company is an excuse to rip people off, then I wont be going there.

Went here for a simple tire change, left with 3 broken sensors on my new Jeep.The manager jade said he didn’t know how to fix it and I would have to bring it to a dealership. I now have to spend hundreds of dollars because of a mistake that they made. He said it was a coincidence that it happened with they changed it. They shouldn’t be working at a tire shop if they don’t know what they are doing. They also did not do an alligment correctly and i left with my Jeep drifting off the road. This place is a joke! WOULDN’T RECOMMEND TO ANYONE unless you want to leave with a broken, unsafe vehicle.

I went to Mavis a week earlier to put tires on and after they told me my brakes were worn down and I really needed new rotors and pads. So, I go to Monros to check it out and get an oil change and they said they are almost new still and that told me who to go to about the leaking fluid and that it should be a really easy fix but to leave it to another shop in town that specializes in that area. This is how mechanics should be. This will now be my go to car mechanic on Oswego.

Ive brought my car to the branch in Oswego for the past two years for a few minor repairs and routine oil changes and have always had a positive experience. Last week two of my heat shields began rattling thanks to rust and the pot holes I frequently find on un-patched roads. They worked around my schedule for an appointment and although the parking lot was full of cars, they immediately got me in. Ten minutes later my car was ready and I was on my way.Ive lived in Oswego for nine years and brought my car to other local competitors blocks from my previous apartments at the time, but Ive felt taken advantage and had work that would need to be repaired again. With a bit farther to drive, Ive found Monro to offer consistent, honest, and reasonably priced work that keeps my car running well and helps keep my mind at ease.I recommend Monroe.
