Average steak house. Dont order anything else except a steak. Alfredo and Chicken Parm were average. The steaks were good, but not great. The side of pasta that comes with every meal was not very good and had a watered down sauce. The service was good and the atmosphere is nice. The dessert was the best part!
They have great food. Their steaks are so good the last two times we’ve been there the service has been better. One of their servers is so rude that I will never sit in her section again. I gave them five stars even though the service isn’t but the food overcomes all that
Love this classic Italian steakhouse. We hadnt been in years so when we came to Omaha, Cascios was a must stop. Dinner was perfect and our server Brian was the best. Very friendly and made me some fresh stuffed blue cheese olives for my martini. My Chianti wine was perfect with my steak and pasta and it was a surprisingly heavy pour. Get a Whiskey Ribeye or filet and you wont be disappointed! They marinate it in a whiskey rub and then charbroil it to perfection. To finish, you gotta have the Italian ice cream desert!! Of course next time were in Omaha well be back!
The wait staff was wonderful but the food is a different story. Salad is iceberg lettuce no tomatoes or cucumbers my dressing was balsamic it was not balsamic dressing but straight balsamic vinegar. Steak was good and the side was green beans for $35.00 I did not expect canned green beans it was horrible. Run do not go there not worth the money!!
Upsides - great service, super friendly people. Very kid friendly. The food - mediocre. Nothing terribly wrong, but for the price point Id expect better overall.Overall - we enjoyed our visit, but the food isnt good enough at this price point to return.
This original Steakhouse has excellent service and good food. Their coffee is especially delicious. The prices are a bit high for the location.
Its a little hard to understand where youre supposed to check in because the cash out counter is before the hostess one. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the fried ravioli. We did get seated around a bunch of fans for the college world series so we had to endure them shouting their team chant. If thats not taken into consideration I wouldve given 5 stars. It was extremely busy but we got a seat without a reservation in a little over 10 minutes. The gentleman running things, Im assuming an owner, was on top of everything and did a great job. My husband had the whiskey bone in rib eye and says it was excellent. I had the chicken Parmigiano and it was served really really hot, but tasted wonderful.
I was tasked with organizing a group steak dinner for 20 people on a Friday afternoon for a Friday night dinner. We were at a volleyball convention and every single team was trying to schedule the same thing. Many places were already booked but the owner at Cascio’s answered my call and went out of his way to arrange a nice dinner for us at a reasonable time. The dinner was beyond expectations and DELICIOUS. We had a room upstairs to ourselves and the food and service from Meghan were amazing! The whisky ribeye was tasty and reasonably priced and i highly recommend Cascio’s for an AUTHENTIC Nebraska steakhouse experience!
Ordered to go from Cascios steakhouse at lunch time due to other plans I had. I would have liked to sit in the restaurant because it was a very lovely place. They had mood lighting which made me feel like I was in a fancy restaurant looking at delicious food. The tables were set up in circles so that people could look at each other and talk altogether instead of in lines, which I like better. People can all look at each other and talk together in the circles. The other part of the room had a bar area and a fireplace with more tables that were set up for people that would come to enjoy drinks and chat together. It looked like a nice place to just relax and enjoy the warm fire due to the weather being cold outside all day long. The bar area was very long and had a variety of alcohol and drinks and liquor for people to drink with options. The food I got was Working Mans Steak and New York Strip both ordered medium rare. The meat was cooked to perfection and had the best flavor of any steak I have tried before, it was heavenly. The lunch came with a baked potato, salad, pasta, bread and butter. The steaks came with a lot of food, which I did not realize until I got my order. All of the food was very delicious, I will definitely go back there when I am in town again. Highly recommend the steaks and the overall experience, it was delicious and tasty.
It was absolutely delicious! My girlfriend and I came here after the zoo and she got the top serloin and I got the fettuccine and chicken and it was absolutely perfect! Definitely a great place for a in town or out of town date night! Bit fancy but it was perfect
It is American style Italian food and steaks. I was not impressed and wont be back, but thats because its not my thing. If you like American style Italian food you will like it.
Good old time restaurant experience. Good ribeye steak, good amount of food. The steak medallions were tasty. Pasta side dish was luke warm, would have liked it to be steaming hot. We are from out of town and would return for another visit.
Outstanding food and customer service! They probably serve the best steak I’ve ever had!! It is a more fancy restaurant, just to make that clear for guests reading reviews.
12/23/18We come here when we are using the Fox 42 Steakhouse Tour card. This was our third visit since my last review in 2016 and I think their good points outweigh their bad points, so I’ve changed may rating. One of the first things you will notice is the rolls are served hot. They really taste good. Easy to eat too many. The Onion Rings are crisp but not greasy, even though they serve them resting on a paper napkin, the napkin do not have grease on it. I think these are some of the best in town. The salad still come with a lot of dressing, but if it is thick style like Thousand Island or Blue Cheese, you can remove some of it, otherwise I hope you like a lot of dressing on your salad. For me they cook the steaks almost perfect. I asked for a “Pittsburg style”, but they said they didn’t have a grill that got hot enough to prepare one, but they would do their best. Well, they prepared a pretty good imitation. The sear was good, just not charred, but the center was cool. My wife’s steaks have always been prepared a perfect medium well, just the way she likes it. The meat s always juicy and tender.Since coming to Omaha, I am also getting used to having my baked potato served to me wrapped in aluminum foil with a tube of sour cream side, in very good restaurants, so I can’t hold that against them.Unfortunately, for our tastes, the pasta meals are on the bland side. The pasta is cooked the way we like it, but the sauces need more spices. Maybe we are used “American” Italian cooking, and this is more traditional, I don’t know.If it were only a steakhouse, I’d give it a four-star rating, but since it is also an Italian restaurant that we do not find appealing, I can only give it thee-stars, but your tastes in Italian foods may be different than mine, so go for it.
A relic from the past that still serves solid food. Enjoyed the steak and can imagine people dining back in its heyday
Fine dining and great service. Had the pasta with Italian sausage. Sausage was burnt and flavor bled into sauce. Everyone was having steak. I will be back to have the steak.
Im 60 years old and I remember coming to this location and this family of restaurant entrepreneurs as far back as I can remember.I work for Stanley Anson for a considerable time and we ate at this restaurant for lunch and dinner years too many times to count.Always a fantastic atmosphere and great food with phenomenal service and conversation, I really enjoy the place.
The salad n bread had NO flavor, but the Alfredo was good.
Tammy was an excellent server .. ask for her! We saw an advertisement on a trash can near TDAmeritrade Park and walked the 1+ mile... well worth it! Tender aged steak, wonderful Italian flavor and old style service. Can’t wait to visit here next trip to Omaha.
Whiskey steak was excellent! Creme Brûlée was amazing! A must have! Great service! An awesome relaxing atmosphere to have dinner and enjoy spending a night out with friends! The staff is excellent and does not make you feel rushed!
Steaks were so good. Service was ok, as the were only two servers and it was getting busy, but there was no frustration shown when asked for condiments. Great job. The owner was present on the floor, speaking with guests and giving suggestions. Overall, had a great anniversary dinner.
Dated in all of the right ways. A good steak, and great Italian. I enjoyed taking the family out and will done here again soon.
The food was delicious! And plenty of it! Priced comfortably.
Steak was good but nothing to rave about. Service was acceptable but not great. You get a lot of food for your $$ though.
A few months ago I went on a South Omaha history tour, they drove us by Cascios and told us that they were the last of the original Italian steak houses in Omaha. I knew I had to try it. My NY strip was excellent. My friend loved her prime rib. My only complaint is that the salad and sides were just ok. $31-$35 for a steak dinner but they feed you well. Edit to add: service was excellent
Had a great dinner with a friend from out of town. They enjoyed their meal very much. Service was great. They had taken care of everything we needed.
The best steakhouse in Omaha. It has old style italian steakhouse charm. The food is fantastic. Best Chicken Parmesan Ive ever had. My husband had the filet it had the best flavor. Staff were awesome. The bread sticks are to die for. If you dont go here on your stop in Omaha your missing out. Well worth the price for a great night out.
Cascios is always a pleasant experience. The steaks are seasoned and prepared with expertise and the wait staff is knowledgeable and very friendly.
Friendly wait staff and excellent food. Great steak and less expensive than places just a mile north.
We had our company Christmas party at Cascios and it was incredible. Our employees raved about the food, service and private room. Holly is an award winning server! Highly recommend.
We had a very delicious dinner! And we appreciated the social distancing they had in place. Our waitress was very sweet all so. Spending our money in our own neighborhood.
Still a great omaha staple for food. My ribeye was great and so was the pasta
Had to move the back yard gathering to a venue and Cascios to the rescue! Alway great service, atmosphere is amazing, the staff are very hard workers and are great at keeping up and providing A+ service no matter how busy they get! Thanks for everything!
Very nice dinner, whiskey ribeye is choice
Best steak Ive had at an omaha restaurant in a long time. 23 oz porterhouse. Every bite of food was delicious. One of the last Omaha steakhouses left. Great for lunch too.
Food okay at best, service okay. prices for the quality missed the mark
Food was amazing, service was great. So glad I got to experience it on my travels.
Recently had a family gathering there. Everything was very good!
Service was good, food was horrible thay put so much blue cheese on the salad it was sickening and i love cheese the steak had no flavor i had to use A1 dont waste your money here.
Great food, great service, better than I remember.
The food was great and came fast. The staff was friendly and helpful.
My first time here, I think our waiter was tired, but she did check on us frequently- so I’ll give her that. But for a steak house i wasn’t impressed with the food or decor. I was shocked that the employees wear t shirts that are barely tucked in, the host had a hoodie on- it just wasn’t what I was expecting. I do wish the salad came out in a bit more appealing way, instead of just thrown together- but that’s ok, I now know.I wouldn’t come back here, it’s not worth the price. The red sauce taste like a can with sugar added.
Tried the lasagna, it was absolutely delicious 😋 Will be returning!
Great food. Great atmosphere. Helpful staff and stocked bar.
Good food and friendly staff. Nice atmosphere.
Steak was good. Everything else was meh. Made a reservation but wasn’t seated for an hour after.
Food is good as usual, service is very good too. But in order to make up for lost revenue due to Covid 19 theyve decided to substantially raise prices. Expect to pay $75 - 100 for dinner for 2.
This is an old-school, feel-good steakhouse with fantastic Italian food. Its a sentimental favorite of my wife and I, since we went there on our 2nd date (1st date was the Pizza Hut where we met---lol). We hadnt been there in quite a few years, and just went last night on our 37th anniversary. Just as good as always---their lasagna is to die for. The only place weve been with lasagna this good was a place in NYCS Little Italy---thats saying something. We wont wait as long to go back---so glad they havent gone the way of Angies and nearly all the Caniglia-owned restaurants. Reasonable prices, too!
This is going to be lengthy. The TL;DR version is this: Big disappointment in both service and food. Missing on all cylinders here: Food, service, and appearance/atmosphere.We walked in and we greeted with a snowblower and snow shovel in the entryway (it hadnt snowed in a few days and wasnt going to that night). Because, thats what you want to see when you walk into a nice steakhouse. All of the other steakhouse in Omaha make it a point to store their equipment in the customer entryway. Its classy. No one was at the host stand. We walked in and just stood there awkwardly until a waitress noticed us.Waitresses are old. I dont mean that in an ageist way (though thats how its going to come off), but they should be retired or at least off their feet all day. Is anything more awkward than needing something for the table and asking your waitress for it and then cringing as she limps toward the kitchen to get it? I get it. Im sure theyve all worked there for 30 years, but wow. That might explain why theyve also pulled chairs out of the dining room and put them at the entrance of the kitchen so the wait staff can sit down between table runs. Again, all of the best steakhouses do this. Theres nothing like needing a refill, looking for your waitress, and finding her sitting at the kitchen entrance. We were handed a limited menu. That was a bummer as we had browsed their website on the way over and kind of knew what we wanted only to discover much of it was unavailable. I asked why the menu didnt match the website and was given a pandemic-related excuse. At this date the pandemic has been going on for almost a year. Thats plenty of time to update your website (which they HAVE updated since the pandemic as theres a note on it about indoor seating being available, so why did the menu get skipped?). Also, the menu says its limited due to pandemic elevated beef prices, but, as far as I could tell, the prices were the same as they were prior and several menu items that dont even contain beef werent available (what do pandemic beef prices have to do with cheese sticks no longer being available as an appetizer?). The special was an 8oz Filet for $36.95 which is the same price it is on the menu. So, what exactly is special about the special?I ordered the 8oz Sirloin cooked medium rare. It came out medium. Salad was just a bowl of iceberg lettuce with two black olives and a pepperoncini. Seriously? Thats what youre serving for salads? I think Village Inn has a better side salad. The Italian dressing tasted like they forgot the vinegar. It was all just oil and herbs with little acidity. Thats really sad because they actually sell their Italian dressing. I hope it was a fluke, otherwise, just who is buying that subpar dressing? My baked potato was served with a packet of butter and a packet of sour cream. Again, real classy. This isnt a fast food restaurant. I dont expect my condiments in packets.Cheapest flatware ever. It felt like my fork was made from aluminum foil. A toddler could bend their flatware/silverware. Again, very low rent for what is supposed to be a nice steakhouse.I really wanted to like this place. Its old school Omaha and I will freely admit I was biased and ready to like it no matter what. Then, they proceeded to fall short on almost EVERYTHING.The entire time we were dining there were never more than four other tables of customers. Dont blame the pandemic. If this place fails its for a LOT of completely NON-pandemic related reasons.
Excellent waitress and wonderful food!
Great food, great service, good drinks.. will b going bk soon...
Very nice place.
Chicken parmesan is a delicious and excellent option to feed your family. Plenty of food to feed 6+ people. Highly recommended!!!
My college pal and I have visited Cascios each year for the past five years after the Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders meeting, and it never disappoints. The only local, family-run steakhouse advertised in the Berkshire literature these days is Gorats, which is impossible to get into this weekend. Cascios is a most righteous option in its own right and sloppy seconds under NO circumstances.Easily accessed, close to downtown and guaranteed to offer a friendly welcome and decent prices for cocktails, wine and steaks. They outdid themselves this year, as the prime rib and ribeye we ordered were prepared to perfection and served with a cordiality not found elsewhere.I promise we will return in 2020! Thanks!!
Very nice ambiance great taste
We went here for our anniversary. It was during the change with Covid 19 scare. So not many to share the restaurant but the waitress was great, the service and food was very memorable. It appeared they were just hanging on during these tough times. I hope more will step out and do themselves a favor by eating a great meal here. The community cannot afford to lose a good restaurant like Cascios.
Great place to get a superior steak and Great service when visiting the area.
Food was great. Menu was cut down due to covid but other than that had all the classics. Kids menu is still available to anyone with a child. Service was great. Tammy H. Was amazing very attentive to the tables need. Will be visiting more often.
Good steak, good casual atmosphere
This is a great place to come for steak dinners. Their lunches are really good, too. Make sure you make a reservation! I always have dinner here on Christmas Eve.
We are on vacation for the weekend to Omaha. We like to eat at local places, we support local businesses when we travel. I really hate saying this, especially since I don’t review much but...Olive Garden, a chain, has better food at cheaper prices then this place. The salad was just lettuce/dressing and the pasta sauce tasted something from Prego in a jar you get from the store. Again, I hate saying that about this place because we support local, but be aware what you get for that high price.
The food was ok, but a little too crowded for my taste. The waitress was very nice.
Classic Omaha Italian style steakhouse since 1946..
The best Italian restaurant in Omaha. The staff will always treat you like family when you come in.
Delicious food and outstanding service.
I would not voluntarily return to this restaurant. We visited during lunch service.Food:The salad is a bowl of soggy iceberg lettuce with an olive and stale croutons. The chicken parmesan was swimming in a sauce that was only slightly more flavorful than ketchup. The steaks were cheap quality and were tough and poorly seasoned.Service:Our waitress only stopped by our table to take our order, drop off the food, and drop off the bill. Several of us needed but failed to receive water refills.Of course, she was not the worst server in the restaurant. That honor goes to the waitress who walked across the dining room shouting that everyone in the kitchen must have gone home. While hilarious, it was very unprofessional.
Service was terrible, management was rude. The nearest McDonald’s would be finer dining.
Was blown away by the food. Way more than expected. Classic Omaha steakhouse.
Was a really good filet The pasta was good and I really enjoyed the salad and then I found out that you could buy the salad dressing so now I have some of the salad dressing in my fridge
Food was okay. Service was...well...no need to ever go here again.
Excellent, thats all I need to say.
Delicious food and fantastic wait staff!
Feels like home here ...I grew up here...food is fabulous Holly, lacey, meghan are my favorite hosts people...dont forget the guys in the back Albert Steve Gary all you guys. Love and my family...
One of the best spots in the area. ill return family next time. this place has a great feel to it.
I have to say was very disappointed in our food. 3 of us 3 different steaks the sirloin had was very tough and no flavor,my grandaughter had rib eye and she didnt it all of nor did my daughter who had the New York stating they didnt taste right. My son in law and his daughter mosacholi & meatballs now my son in law it Italian and said the sauce was too running. I get covid has struck but for the prices we paid we wont becoming back which is sad since I grew up going to this restaurant. The service was good as well as the side. People dont mind paying for good food. But you wont go back for bad food. Need to up your game. If you want people to comback
Ol ball and chain took me hear for my 50th birthday and they had some of the best slices of meat i have ever had.
Been going to this place since I was a kid. I think in Omaha you are either a Casios person or a Gorats person. I am a Casios person. My family and I go there for almost every holiday and are NEVER disappointed. I recommend this place to an out of town couple looking for a steakhouse. The guy said he had one of the best steaks ever and the woman (who was not a steak person) on my recommendation of the chicken Alfredo said it was the best chicken Alfredo she has ever had. Cant recommend this place enough for a good meal. Not too high class either you dont have to wear a suit and tie to eat here.
Friendly staff and food great as always!
Worst restaurant Ive been to in the 28 years Ive lived in Omaha. Steer clear.
Absolutely effing DELICIOUS!!!! Waiter was a wonderful young man aspiring to be a lawyer, very good service and definitely one of the BEST tasting Prime Rib steaks Ive ever had! Covid has shut down a lot as we are finding out being out-of-towners but on a Sunday night they welcomed us in with smiles and delicious food for a wonderful Anniversary dinner. Thank you!
Great place, great service.
