These guys have been so helpful with our business by keeping our dumpsters empty, even when we need more pickups than originally requested. Theyre so quick to meet our needs and theyre super professional and friendly. Brooke has been absolutely awesome to deal with as well. Would definitely recommend their services.

I never thought I’d review a garbage company but here I am! It’s never fun dealing with trash whether doing house clean ups or general yard overhaul, but it’s really great when you work with someone seamlessly to make dealing with it as easy as possible!The rep for Ogden (Brooke) was awesome! It was great to work with her. She was professional, friendly, and I would highly recommend if you need help getting something done and done well. I would use her again for my waste disposal needs.

I recently had a temporary container delivered to my house to do a little fall clean up. My sales rep. MaryAnn, was great. She called me prior to the delivery of my container, because it was late in the day, letting me know that the delivery driver was on his way. Mark, the container delivery driver, arrived and was very attentive on the placement so not to damage my sprinklers or the concrete, he was awesome! After was all said and done the manger called me Tyler just to make sure that the container arrived. I would say that Republic Services went out of their way to make sure that I had a wonderful experience. Thanks!

Tried to transfer service from our shop in Salt Lake to our new shop in Ogden. It took two weeks for the can to be delivered. They were supposed to empty the can the next day due to us having two weeks worth of trash, but still have yet to show up two weeks later.I have been on the phone with them every day for the last week, and every time I talk to them, I am told that we have a pickup scheduled the next day. At this point, Im just trying to cancel service and go somewhere else.

Last year our city West Haven City Ut wanted to go with one garbage collector. Fortunately Republic did not get the contract. Our city tried to work with them to make the transition go well. They were exceptionally difficult to work with. After several months of effort everyone pretty much gave up. Now after about 7 hours of being on hold and about 7 attempts to cancel my service and get money refunded, I think it might actually be done. It took two months for them to pick up can, which they charged me $32 for. Take home message.... if you are a city checking out reviews------dont use these guys. If youre getting service for your home, may be good price at first but that goes up and cancelling service is nearly impossible. Suggestion to Republic 1) hire people who will follow through with what they commit to. 2) make it easier for people to contact you by either allowing people to communicate easily through online account or hire a couple more people. We should be able to cancel service online. Making that a difficult process just makes us more upset.

We were doing our yearly cleanup of our house and needed a small dumpster in a hurry, i spoke with denise, she was very pleasant and helpful in figuring out what size I would need and had the container to us within a few days of calling. I want to give an update to hold republic services accountable for their poor customer service and awful communication. I emailed their email and have been told a number of different things. They said that they removed all late fees and the service charge for the month that was wrongly charged. But the removal fee for my can went up from $32.67 to $50.67 they are saying that this is for taxes and fees but the original invoice had absolutely no taxes or fees on the it. SERIOUSLY THE WROST COMPANY EVER!!!!I never write reviews but I have to warn anyone that is considering using Republic Services. This is an absolutely horrible company to work with. They have been a complete nightmare from day one. I am basically in the exact same situation and Eric from below! I cancelled my service in March and then was charged until June. On July 18th received an invoice saying that my closed account had been sent to collection for services I never used!Republic Services, do not respond to this review unless you are going to fix the problem. I dont want someone from marketing or HR to try and save face by copying and pasting the same response saying that you will forward this to the correct depart unless something will actually be done about it!!

I have had nothing but good experiences with Republic Services. We have to use the willcall option to pick up our dumpster because sometimes we fill it up faster than other times. I can not remember when i texted Brooke at Republic that i didnt get service the very next day. The process is so easy. Recently i had to ask if they would change the way they did the pickup/dropoff of the dumpster due to limited space behind our building and making it work with the tenant next door and just like that Republiv made it happen. I am very impressed by the way they do business. 👍 👍

This review is for Michael Payne specifically as a trash truck driver. He respects his equipment and wants to do a good job. A valuable employee to this company for sure. We had a special situation and request and he did everything in his power to help us out. I really appreciate what he has done for us. He also is gentle on our garbage cans and does not destroy them with every “grab” like some of our previous drivers. Thanks for your help Mike!

Republic Services was the only garbage company that provided services in my area and they made the news for price gouging my area. Some people were paying $44 and others were paying $160+ for the exact same services. Here is a rundown of the price gouging to me personally AFTER they were blasted on the news. Feb 2020: $57.42, May 2020: $59.09, August: $73.48. Every quarter it went up and in August they added administrative fees and total fuel/environmental recovery fees which sent my bill through the roof with no notification of any of these increases. I cancelled services in July 2020 after receiving the $73.48 statement and was told it was $32.67 for removal fee, I asked to pay it now and they told me I had to wait for the bill. I received a $54.47 statement for cancellation and was told that the billing department would adjust it accordingly and to wait for a $32.67 bill. Received a past due balance phone call on 9/18/2020 and just paid $41.67 removal fee because they decided to add in 2 different fees. I asked why these fees weren’t added into the total when they told me it would $32.67 removal fee and she said she didn’t know but it’s how much I owe! I have been price gouged for over 4 years and just had more fees unexpectedly added onto me for removal. Best of luck to you if you chose Republic Services for your garbage company, can’t say you weren’t warned.

After months of ongoing billing issues (increased charges, unexplained fees) I finally cancelled. Then i was informed it is $32.67 to cancel as they have to come pick up the can. Im verified multiple times with a customer service representative that that will be the total charge. I even recorded the case number she gave me from the call. Now I get my final bill and its over $50. So I call in to see why and they said I have extra fees. I said that a customer service rep verified it would only be $32.67 and they said theres nothing they can do about that I have to pay my extra fees in order for my account to not have an outstanding balance. This is exactly the kind of customer service they have always given me throughout the years Ive had them. They always say one thing and you always get another guaranteed. Most of the customer service people dont even seem interested in actually helping you and they sound annoyed that your questioning the bill. Absolutely some of the worst billing and customer service I have ever received up till the very end. Apparently they have to throw in that last punch and squeeze you for every penny.

We have been using Republic Services for about 4 months now. We have had zero issues with any aspect of this company or the services that they are providing for us. We get our bill monthly and it is all broke down, I expect a fluctuation in our billing monthly as I know that fuel costs fluctuate just like they do for my personal vehicle. I have had no issues getting a hold of anyone within this company nor have I had any issues with any of the customer service reps that I have spoken with.I am grateful for the Ogden team! When we first moved out to Western Weber Co we used Republic. That lasted about one year because of the poor service and the price kept changing not to mention the billing is a nightmare. Weber Co decided to contract with one carrier and forced us all to go back to Republic. So unwillingly we went back. We have been trying to get an additional container sent out to our home. We have been at that task for a month. I have emailed, called and even paid the $14 delivery fee. When I called and emailed again today, they told me that I had never ordered the additional container. When I asked them why would I pay for the delivery and not request one, the customer service representative told me to stop yelling and be nice. I was not yelling. I asked to speak to the immediate supervisor, and was told that they have no supervisors. I hated this company 18 years ago, and hate it now. If you can, stay away!

Horrible service!All I wanted was some very basic information which should have been provided on the initial bill or other letter/communication.At initiation of service, no notification of what day of week container would be dumped or the starting date.I called customer service, but the phone number listed on initial bill appears to be for an aviation company as per the recorded message. I found another number off the Internet. That number did not provide an expected wait time. After a wait period it did offer a call-back option for them to call me, which I opted for, but they never did call back. I can appreciate they are really busy right now due to the current epidemic, but other than the no call back, these issues go beyond that. I tried to order an extra container with weekly dumping off their Internet site, but after entering my address exactly as it was printed on my bill, their Internet site came back with a statement to the effect it did not offer any services for my address. This is clearly incorrect since, as time has gone by, theyve managed to dump the one container twice now.It has been a long time since I have seen such incredibly poor customer service (or as consumer advocate Clark Howard would say, customer no-service).Ive already paid the initial bill, but after reading all these other reviews, I now realize that was a mistake. From the reviews, It is clear that it is throwing my valuable time after money poorly spent to pry a partial refund out of them once the local dump reopens. I will not be renewing for another quarter or getting a second container after all.

I left Republic about nine months ago. Too many reasons for leaving; probably not enough space to list them in detail. Issues with the Ogden business unit are a direct result of terrible management from the Corporate office and then the Salt Lake business unit. A lot of good employees at Ogden, but their management is lacking integrity and honesty. I voiced my issues, was promptly ignored so I went to management in Salt Lake, who then made it a requirement of my manager to resolve my concerns. Sadly and predictably, nothing improved. I figured since I had no previous employment at a local tire store, good old boy mentality,I would not have a chance at upward movement nor a fair shake in any future opportunities. No matter the severity of infractions by Ogden management, Salt Lake management would never help to resolve my concerns; only taking great notes and no follow up. When I gave my two week notice like a good employee, I was never asked why I was leaving or even offered a final interview. Matter of fact, I was never asked for my uniforms to be returned. I understand I probably ruffled the feathers of the higher ups, but never with malice nor fault finding. The issues I raised were founded rightfully and brought to attention with the intent to correct what was failing. Customer Service was always preached, but Customer Experience was never spoken. I sat in too many meetings where the higher ups spoke of providing exceptional service to customers, but very rarely was employee treatment a priority.

Don’t do it! I decided to give them a try because their service was much cheaper than other companies, but it was the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I had one issue with my bill and it spiraled out of control. Every time I called back to fix the issue it wouldn’t be fixed and they would add on another issue. So frustrated and disappointed in their service.

Worst billing and customer service ever experienced. This company exists only to tack on hidden fees to your bill. You can call in to customer service all day long and they will pass you from department to department and never do anything helpful. They act like I should just pay my bill and not ask questions. Well guess, what. Time to move on to a new provider. Stay away from this company. Far far far away. I canceled and am going with Econowaste. Should have made the move years ago.

My bill has changed 4 times for each of the last four quarters. I called to see why my rates are increasing. The guy in customer service told me that my area is open market and they can charge whatever they want. Wow. You call that customer service? My quarter ends this month and because this is an open market I will be cancelling service with Republic this month and getting someone new. Thanks for informing me about your open market policy. Corrupt company. They continued to raise our prices without explanation. Then we found out our neighbors were paying less than us. They said they would lower our rates to the same as our neighbors. So we were surprised to see that our next bill was even higher than it was before they said they would lower it. When my wife called to ask them about it multiple people were very rude and condescending to her. I am looking into Econo Waste our other options.Update: I was contacted by Republic Services after my initial review. They worked with me to address the concerns I mentioned in my previous review. I appreciate that they took time to work with me. I increased my review to 3 stars for now.

They not only charge for pickup but then add on additional fees for Service and Fuel. When you call to discuss no one seems to be in charge and cannot do anything to lower the cost. No one in our area has the same consistent bill. They charge everyone different amounts with no explanation.

I have no issues with their service, only their ever changing price. I called them a while back because my bill was just too high for the service they offered and compared to their competitors. At that time it was $74.00. They did a review and found that they could lower it to $43.95 which was comparable to their competition in the area (how do you suddenly become $30 cheaper?) That only lasted a couple of bills, then the price was $51.42, then $60.68. Im not sure why they keep raising costs like they do, but at this point (especially when fuel prices have been going down) theyre becoming too expensive for weekly collection again. Going to go find another company.

I live in Unincorporated Uintah. I recently moved here and was told it would cost around $30 for trash service. So far my bills have been $67, $96, and $65. I have no idea what these fees mean and why the charges are so high. It’s difficult to get a straight answer from anyone at the company as to why my bills are so high. Extremely frustrating!

I was a customer with this company for 11 years and saw my bill raise from around 45 dollars to 116 before I was done. All my neighbors were charged different prices. I found another company that was half the price and republic then stuck me with a 50 dollar fee to come pick up my can . I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Dont fall victim!!!

Our bill has gone up and up and up and I have called customer services at least 3 times and each time they say they fix it for the next billing cycle and it will be back down and it never is. Never! Our cameras caught our ever so awesome driver getting out of his truck and bringing our 2 cans to the road to be dumped. There is no rhyme or reason with their billing practices...Neighbors living next to each other can vary in their cost by more than $20 up or down for the exact same service. Cancelled an account with them in March and found out that there was credit money due that I called on today. After 15 min. on hold to get to talk to a person Im told that it will take another 3 weeks for account to process the credit and mail it to me. They confirmed already that all was resolved on the account, so beyond me to understand why it will take another 3 weeks to issue the credit, and if I hadnt called they most likely would have kept the money too!

I live in unincorporated Uintah and our services were switched to Republic Services by our county and I have had nothing but problems. Our account was never “properly” switched over so we never got a new can, our prior service can was picked up. We went 2 weeks without a pick-up. I placed our can out for Friday pickup and went to bring it in on Saturday morning and to my surprise it was not emptied. Of course they are not open and won’t be until Tuesday due to the holiday. Thanks for being unreliable so far!

We have had problems over the last 2 months with them not picking up our garbage can. We have to call almost every week and file a complaint and we still can never get them here to pick up our can. This time we called on Friday, they told us they won’t pick up our can until Tuesday. Our garbage day is on Thursday. This is getting ridiculous!

This company has the worst customer service & billing dept. They try and increase my bill every quarter with random charges. To even get a person on the phone it usually take 5-10 mins. When you try and ask why they increased the bill they say its just a normal routine to increase it but then they say you just have to call and ask for the reduced rate. Now I am trying to cancel service & they wont cancel it today. They will only cancel it by month so I am forced to pay the entire month even though I want it canceled on the 4th day. They also want to charge me a removal fee of $32. So watch out with this company. They love to add fees for everything. UPDATE Weber County just passed a law (2020) that mandated us to use this company!!! Are you kidding me? Well it sure helps when the son of a commissioner works at Republic Services. I have paid 2 bills so far and ALREADY i am being mailed a letter stating I owe for last quarter. The check cleared and was paid by my bank electronically. Yet somehow they have lost it!! This company is a JOKE!! Thanks Weber County for making my choices for me.Update: after posting a negative review I was contacted by someone from the company offering help with any questions. After several emails back & forth with explanations to my questions they eventually lowered my bill to end the discussion and my frustrations. Terrible customer service. They really dont care if youre a customer or not. Dont pick up your garbage and still charge you for it. Try to get them to pick it up the next day, but if you dont call at a certain time they wont. And then they make it sound like its your fault. Read all reviews first! Call a local company! I thought trying to schedule a dumpster to my residence would be easy online. Well it is, but you have to be extremely detailed with your instructions otherwise you will not get the service you require. Scheduled a dumpster to be dropped off four days in advance, nothing on the order specified whether it would be in the street or in my driveway. I called the morning of delivery early in the morning to make sure the driver would drop it in the driveway. Customer service reassured me that they would make sure the driver would drop it in the driveway. When I returned from an errand, the dumpster was in the street. When I notify customer service which is located at a call center in North Carolina, they apologized and told me they would get it moved. That took till the end of the day. I had scheduled it to be picked up on a Friday again using the internet. The day before, after some project changes had been made, I called customer service and told them not to pick up the dumpster until Monday. A full 27 hours in advance. When I came back from my dentist appointment, the dumpster was picked up on Friday. It doesnt help that the dispatchers ignore customer service, and its not worth the headaches for the price.

I don’t even know where to start with my terrible experience. My trash can was dropped off at my new house right away 7 months ago. After that it took 5 weeks, 5 weeks for them to pick it up the first time. I called over 10 times asking for my trash to be picked up. I had been billed twice for a service that wasn’t being fulfilled. Since then they haven’t missed a week, which is nice. Last week I called to get an additional can. I got an email notification saying my service was starting tomorrow and the van would be dropped off. The day came and went and they never dropped the cam off I was charged for. I wish the company would get their stuff together. I would leave if I didn’t have everything set up already. Don’t waste your time with them. Go elsewhere.

The promise me that somebody with come out and pick it up and they never do. This company is a joke. They frequently leave garbage behind. like full garbage bags and trash is left in the street. they throw the cans all over the yard. after this happened most recently and honestly just being fed up since we pay to have a 2nd garbage can. we called to complain they said they would try to make it out friday but would for sure be there monday. monday evening it still was not taken so we called again. they said they didnt know what time they would come but they will be there by the end of the day. tuesday came and i called again. i am calm and respectful on the phone just factual. this time he says im scheduled for today and they will be out by the end of today. i said ok. then he says ill put a note in that they come by wednesday at the latest. i said i will call in the morning if they dont come today and he had hung up already and had attitute. clearly didnt want to hear about the facts, after reading reviews i figure he is probably sick of hearing the same thing. i went to the dump and paid $10 instead of waiting for a company that seems to not know how to do their job. its not rocket science guys!

WAY over priced and terrible customer service. I’ve been trying to cancel an account for 2 months. Every time I call, I get transferred at least 2 or 3 times because it’s always someone else’s job to handle accounts. Then I can’t get a call back from an “account manager”. We switched to Robinson waste and it was the best decision we’ve made. Anytime I have a concern, I text my account rep and he gets on it to resolve it. Not to mention they’re half the price of republic services for the exact same size of can and pick up schedule. Save yourself a headache and a few hundred dollars and explore other options.

Your garbage trucks are distracting with the flashling lights on the back. During day and night on all various roads. No need for them while they are driving and not stopping. They could cause someone to have a seizure. During the night they are blinding. Horrible!!

So where do I begin, this is the WORST place of service of all I can not believe they are still in business. I have a Residential account an when I first stated up with them I had my pick up day change everyday... I mean EVERYDAY I would call in they would say let me ask.. and then finely I got that straight. but it still wasnt over I have my bill in a combination of 3 months, OK will it was like ever month I was paying yes I DID PAY MY BILL. until I recently moved out and cancel service and back to square one! Prices go up up up, no price of gas increase like when they upped their prices a few years back so not sure why its constantly going up. Im switching!

I manage a large commercial building in St. George. When setting up my account with Republic, a rep cam to our office, worked through the contract with me, helped me monitor the amount of service we needed and best of all, was just extremely easy to work with. When I have had needs to change pick up days, Republic has been courteous and taken care of my request. Today I got a call from Josh to let me know we had a couple of overages this last month and wanted to offer an extra day pick up...the cost was of concern for my tenants, so we went through the billing and found the day of the week that was throwing us into overages. We revised the pick up schedule and then decided to watch what happened and if we would really need a 5th day pick up. I appreciated not being pressured into adding another day, but working together to keep the costs down.
