This place is a find. We still thank our son for finding us this place when we moved back to Utah. The scenery is wonderful, the landscaping well kept and the apartments are quiet and comfortable. These are nice people here at ReNew Canyon Ridge. Office staff knows the residents and have convinced me they genuinely care for our comfort, security and satisfaction. Responsive to needs, maintenance and service when required. Every year we have been here it gets a little better. I cannot say that about any other complex we have l ived.
The apartments have a great layout, pool and other amenities are great. Killer location, really quiet while still being near enough to downtown without all the noise, traffic and people. Staff are friendly and helpful.
ReNew Canyon Ridge is always quick to fix any maintenance issue or fill any need we may have! I think we are blessed to live in such a beautiful area with killer staff!! Special thanks to Genesis and Robert for their exceptional management. You guys rock!!
The access to all the hiking trails right from the apartment complex is my favorite feature. The private, quiet location, and hearing the crickets out the windows at night, this makes it a perfect location for me.The office staff and manager are responsive and friendly, always willing to answer questions and concerns.
My experience with complex management and our building maintenance team has Ben fantastic. Always professional and knowledgeable and they have been great about respecting our dogs. Thank you for your hard work!
This is a great place to live and I love the view and management is very helpful! Its very quiet too!
I lived here from November 2016-June 2017 when my 3rd floor unit literally lit on fire at 3 am. I woke up to screaming outside and flames. What is odd to me is that no smoke alarm or fire alarm ever went off despite the tragedy. They never found a cause for the fire and never claimed responsibility. I ran out with my dog and cat and watched the building burn with so many other people at 4-5 am. The following day I went to the office and they told me to wait, as they were busy trying to sell other units to new families. They reimbursed me for 9 days since I had paid 30 and my unit burnt on the 20th.
LONG BUT WORTH THE READ BEWARE: First off, I love our immediate management/maintenance. They’re great and as helpful as they can be. But chances are greater than not that you will have car broken into, vandalized, or something. Someone tried to hotwire my bike with a heavy chain on it (chained to a metal post in a car port) front and center of the complex. Thieves are constantly targeting the complex and corporate will not enhance security. I know they can’t control crime but when they comment on these posts (like they will mine) saying they can’t control or avoid it, that’s obvious, but they do actively refuse to put up cameras or any effective security measure. If I’m outside late to let my dog out and hear rustling in the car ports, I assume it’s a thief targeting cars. Sucks I feel unsafe in a place I pay well over $1,000 to live in due to corporate greed.
This property has a great location and the views are amazing!! Being close to the hills allows for easy access to hiking, biking, golf courses and a short drive to snowboarding and skiing. The staff is super friendly and respectful, and always responds to any of my questions or concerns promptly.
Due to the lack of any type of security, besides one security patrol car that drives through every once in a while, there are constant car burglaries. There are no security cameras ANYWHERE besides the pool and the main office. If you do decide to move here, make sure your doors are always locked, as well as maybe investing in a dash camera and a firearm. Management is awesome and it is not their decision whether or not cameras are put up around the complex.
Best thing I like about my apartment is the view. Its just awesome to look out at the mountains all the time. This is a great place to be thats in Ogden but not in Ogden if you know what I mean. Also great if you have a dog. They use to have one big dog park but they shortened it to add more parking but added a second dog park by the sitting area. One other thing I like is if I have a package coming to me it goes into a big locker thing and I can grab it when I get off work. Havent had to had anyone come into my aparment and fix anythign but the guys who drive around in the golf carts seem nice and waive when I see them. One thing I would say could use some work is the stairwells can get dirty quick. I think they get cleaned a few times a week and I know its hard in Utah in Winter to keep up with but its just something I notice from time to time. Overall very happy. Oh yah the pool is great for the Summer
Whatever you do, DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!! The amount of burglaries and car break ins are insane! They will also rip off your license plates left and right and The management could care less, nothing will be done to help you out, no security cameras will be installed and not even an apology will be offered. You will end up paying hundreds of dollars with zero re-imbursement for new windows and other things to live in a below average overpriced apartment complex! Completely unacceptable!
So glad to have new management in place that actually cares about the tenants.
A lot of residents cars have been broken into and there’s nothing that can be done. Maybe some cameras or something might help. The blinds are terrible lol. Everything else is frikin amazing.
The staff have been nothing short of amazing since we’ve started our process of moving in! They’ve moved heaven and earth to make sure that we could view our apartment remotely and have kept in touch with us every step of the way. It’s been an amazing experience thus far and we are super excited to be moving in next month. I know a lot of the previous reviews may make you nervous, but this is a whole new staff that has been put in and they are unbelievably amazing!
Office staff is friendly and always helpful. The renovations are a huge turn around and I’m excited to enjoy the finished product. Looking forward to the changes to come. Would recommend.
DO NOT MOVE HERE, And if you do then Get out as fast as you can!! You will be burglarized more times than you can imagine with ZERO RESOLUTIONS!
I have been a resident at ReNew now for two years, it did not start off as expected with some areas, but under new management we have received and I see vast improvements even through Covid-19 . The new washers and dryers are so appreciated, beautiful new paint through out the hallways and exterior. We also have a new sign which at nightfall is illuminated. Lovely.Thank you Robert for your help with my resident log in. Keep up the good work.
We have been here two years. The apartments location is amazing! You get to walk out your front door to the mountains /canyon and personally I think it makes having to go to work in the morning a little more enjoyable. (Although in the winter it can get pretty slick on the hill down.) The community here is quiet, which as a not super social person I appreciated. The management does set up social events to meet the other residents if thats your personality. Our apartment was nice and we havent had problems that we couldnt resolve ourselves. The management here is nice and has responded in a timely manner every time we reached out. The apartment complex is older which has resulted in things sometimes aging and breaking. We have found that sometimes during the winter our hot water will come out black but if we left it on for a second it usually cleared up pretty quickly. I should note that this hasnt happened for at least a month since after the last time they did maintenance on the water lines. We only ever requested maintenance on our apartment once they completed the work the next day however it wasnt completed correctly and ended up coming apart in a week but it was something we were able to do ourselves so not a big deal. Again for the price you couldnt find a better location.
Beautiful view from the property. They are working on making renovations throughout; working on the pool, newly renovated fitness center, units as they open up and siding of buildings). The basketball court still needs some work but with all the renovations thats going on Im sure it will happen. The new property manager is making a big effort to help the dog poop issue by adding another waste station and making sure there are always bags not to mention he is out there picking it up poop regularly.
Lived here for two years. The place as a whole is awesome with living in the canyon and the views cant be beat. The community was sold last year and the new company is doing renovations. Looks like maybe with Winter some things have slowed down a bit with stuff outside. But the new clubhouse is nice and cant wait for the new gym. Heard we are getting a bbq and sitting area out by the basketball court facing the mountains. Eager to see what that will be and be able to enjoy the summer out there.
This place has a beautiful location with all of the beautiful trees and scenery but the apartments themselves are very old and the walls and floors are poorly constructed and you can hear everyone of your neighbors do ANYTHING while youre inside your own unit. The walls are so thin that its possible to hear what theyre watching on TV. DO NOT MOVE HERE. YOU WILL REGRET IT!
This place use to be called Gate at Canyon Ridge.Look up that property in Yelp to see my review with photos of what it actually cost a person to live there. Your property will be damaged. Your dignity will be gone... all while you’re paying this company to make that happen.Kudos to the person that ignores this and signs a lease with “ReNew” Changing the name doesn’t change the experience.
We are newer here and had a rent check go missing. Instead of the fight I thought I was going to get into the new guy actually knew what he was doing. Robert was extreamly helpful and he is the new manager from my understanding. The places are great! He gave wonderful information and helped us tremendously!!! Thank you Robert!!!
Do not move in here!!! You will spend hundreds of dollars replacing car windows and windshields after MULTIPLE BURGLARIES AND THEFT!! Awful management!!
I have been living here for several months and I have really been enjoying it. Any issues we have had were resolved quickly. Love the pool and the area. So great having a park close by as well as lots of hiking. After living in several different apartments you realize there are some things that just come with renting an apartment! However, this is definitely one of the best places I have rented from. Would recommend.
Overall I’ve decided to leave a 4 star review. My lease ends next month and had we not bought a house we would’ve signed a new lease. We had some issues with our upstairs neighbors but after just asking them nicely to be considerate of us below, our experience was much better. Overall I’d say these apartments are great for the price. Holly in the office is a sweetheart, very empathetic and understanding. Matinence is quick to respond and resolve. AC and Heater worked great. The views were amazing all year and it’s very quiet. We love the hiking trails behind our unit. Very dog friendly. ❤️ Home is where you make it. These aren’t luxury apartments but definitely the best location for what you’re paying.
I loved living here. The staff was awesome and the grounds were kept up very well. Myself and my two kids went to the pool at least twice a week and were able to go on hikes right out our back door. The rent I felt was in line with what is offered in Ogden and everything in the apartment worked well and if something did break the crew was there that day or the next to fix it. Its peaceful and the other tenants are respectful and if theyre not you just have to be an adult and knock on there door and ask them to keep it down. Im not sure what most of the reviewers want out of this place. I believe it fit my needs just fine. The girls in the office were amazing and helped with everything I needed. Come and see for yourself before you write them off from these reviews. Its a good place to live if you can be respectful and understand its an apartment not the Waldorf Astoria. The only suggestion I have is to turn the tennis courts into a Bar B Que area and playground for kids.
I lived here with my new born baby And wife and thought it was a great apartment slightly overpriced but nice! Now we were cautious because of fires that had happened in these apartments previous to moving in... The management says it is a MUST to have renters insurance if you live here so we paid for the year... Six months into living here and gettingnew neighbors under us the week before our apartment caught on fire beginning in the corner of the building (our bedroom) where my baby sleeps and we lost everything!! The insurance they recommend was horrible and no help left us homeless for over a month... No clothes nothing... We could not enter premises due to asbestos when after a month of our possessions sitting in smoke and water we were them allowed to see what we could salvage... This story was for years ago and was followed by another fire two weeks after mine and had had two more at least every summer since!! Please be aware of your families safety!! There is something not right going on with these apartments!!! Had my little one been taking his nap he would have been long passed before I even know there was a fire sure to no alarms in the bedroom the only smoke alarm was located at front door I thank good every day my baby was in the living room with me please be aware of what these people are doing!!! Do your homework and find a safe place for your family!!
DONT GO THERE !!, OWNED BY GANSTERSJust look the reputation of Alliance Residential Company, the owners of the building. They will take until the last cent if they can. Dont sign a contract with THE DEVIL
So much time spent on painting the building and renovating the office and they cant add a dropbox to the front office? I can never get ahold of anyone in the office. Always get sent to offsite who promises theyll call me back. Yea. I never get called back.
Me and my husband just moved here about a week ago, and we love it. You cant hear your neighbours through the walls unless they are in the hallway. Everyone in the office is super nice and maintenance is AMAZING. We notice little things and call them they show up in the next few hours and fix it with no problem. I was a little nervous with the reviews to live here but I love it so far. The location is amazing, and its super quiet. I would recommend this place to anyone!(:
The Gate at Canyon Ridge is a great complex! Although there have been some issues recently with fires, the management staff has gone above and beyond to help me and many other residents. The interiors in these apartments are beautiful and I love the fireplaces and beautiful balconies. Also you cant beat the location!
If I could give it less than one star I would! I never do these reviews but this place is sooooo terrible I felt like I needed to share to save others from making the same mistake we did by choosing to live here. My husband and I moved in a year ago and at first we loved the place until we realized it wasn’t all what they said it was. The management was good until they switched it to a new manager and new company. Once that happened t went down hill. They are never in their office and never return any phone calls. They constantly are doing construction without giving any warning. In fact they didn’t put any notice about it until some one complained to corporate. They make up excuses for everything, why they suddenly turn the water off with no warning, why they miss meetings THEY schedule with you, etc. this is by far the worst place I have ever lived and I would tell anyone to stay as far away as you can. I wouldn’t even wish my worst enemies to live in this awful place. We hate it here and hate management.
FIRES. I honestly never thought I would ever have an experience with this. Sadly I did here and it was super inhumane the way it was handled. I contemplated leaving a review but after all I’d like people to know as much as they can. We moved in January 2017 and in June 2017 we were awaken at 3 am with firefighters bombarding our apartment telling us to get out. We lost our dog and feared he wouldn’t make it. Thankfully a firefighter found him and brought him to safefty. Thankfully the fire didn’t reach our apartment but we did have a lot of smoke damage with in our belongings. A week later I found out I was pregnant (we had been in a hotel because of renters insurance for two weeks) our lease wouldn’t end until February 2018. When we returned they didn’t allow us to waive the contract, if we wanted to leave we would have had to pay $1600 to break the contract. We were forced to live in a place that smelled like smoke 24/7 making my pregnancy experience hard. I couldn’t function and we kept trying to compromise with them but they wouldn’t let us. Months later they had workers at our apartment complex constantly making loud noises, they remodeled before they even fixed the damages the fire did. That backfired because by the time winter came due to so much exposure the pipes froze. We now had no water. They made us stay there for about a month. Everyday we had to get gallons of water at their office door to be able to flush or do chores. I was probably the most depressed I ever could be at that time. Finally after so many times of talking with them, begging they let us go. They finally said they’d change us into a different apartment. This was in December a couple months before our lease. So let spent most of our time in a burnt apartment. Of course management didn’t care, they were all able to go home to a house that didn’t have any problems. They didn’t have to live our life. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU CONSIDER RENTING WITH THEM
I LOVE living here. It’s only been a few months, but so far my experience has been excellent! It’s got a BEAUTIFUL view; you just can’t beat the location. The apartments are so nice! It’s got a cabin-in-the-woods type feel :) you’ve got to remember this place use to be a hotel back in the 60’s, so it’s older and has creaks and moans like any older place. But maintenance takes care of things quickly and efficiently, management is AWESOME, so friendly and easy to work with, and the people who live here are great, quiet people. There’s also no cable package, which I love, cause most of us only want WiFi anyways :) Seriously, I can’t recommend this place enough!
My husband and I have been living here almost a year now and weve liked it. We did a really thorough check for damages when we signed the lease and everything was fixed for us before we moved in (besides some closet doors, but that is out of their control). The pricing scale is a little weird; rent is not a flat rate and is somehow based on move-in date and unit demand, but we got a really good rate for what were getting with the unit. The current management is always very friendly, courteous, and helpful about any questions/issues. BUT, we pay our rent on time/abide by the lease terms which they told us about BEFORE we signed (as in, they tell you beforehand that you have to have renters insurance or you dont get a mailbox key. Dont like it? Dont rent here). Dont expect management to be nice to you if youre a shitty tenant.BTW, dog breed restrictions dont seem to be enforced. Per the lease you are not allowed to have pit bulls or german shepherds, but I have seen at least four in my building alone. So I guess you can get away with that if you have one. Everything in the apartment is cheap (obviously) so things break pretty often, but maintenance has always been great. Its a decent place for Ogden. Good location, great view, quiet neighbors. We like it so far. Will update again if we get screwed on move-out.
The staff and management are extremely nice and do everything they can to make your time there pleasant, and maintenance is always quick to respond to any sort of problem. However, this was still one of the crappier places Ive rented from. In the heat of the summer, my A/C unit quit working and it took over a month to get it repaired. Then in the winter my heater quit working. In addition, my first month living here I paid $825.48 after rent and all of the fees they tack on. Throughout my year of living here, my monthly bill consistently rose with little to no explanation. It is my last month here, and I was just charged $978.16. My statement read that I was being charged $80 for gas. Mind you, my heater hasnt been operating for months and I live in a small apartment, so this seems very high. The root cause or issue with this place, aside from overcharging on fees, seems to be that it is simply very old, so little things are constantly breaking and going out.
Money-pit. Makes promises that they fail to deliver. They change management more than any other apartment complex Ive lived at. They are very corporate, and dont care about the families who live here. Understaffed and overwhelmed. If you are considering living here, i would recommend doing more research.
The complex and their company charged my for an early termination fee after my lease expired as well as carpet cleaning after I was told I wouldnt be charged as they were remodeling and replacing the floors. They sent all of this information to the collection agency with out my knowledge and would not speak to me about the bill. Do not move in here.
Dont deal with these people they make money on stealing application fees. Very criminalistic management!
Maintenance takes a very, very long time to react to anything. The office manager often tells you one thing and does another. The only thing this place has going for them is the location. The office staff takes up all the tenant parking, so a paying tenant has to park far away because all of the office workers have taken all the close tenant parking spots. We had a wasps nest in our bedroom for two weeks before they came to fix it. We had to sleep in our living room. We also got stung. In our 2 year stay our dishwasher broke, our apartment flooded 3 times which took weeks to fix, we had a wasps nest in our bedroom, we had mice, 2 buildings burned down, our toilet broke, we had mold growing in our windows, and our water heater broke. Not once did we receive any kind of compensation. We have been great tenants and never had a late rent payment. Needless to say we gave our notice. Please, for your own sake, run far far away from these apartments.
If youre looking for an affordable place, this isnt it. While management is friendly, it doesnt make up for the lack of care in the facility. It seems they spend more time on updating their clubhouse instead of the actual apartments. While living here, I requested a maintenance request about 3 or 4 times. Each time was either missed or they were late. My floors sunk, breaker box leaked, screen doors were falling off, and when I first arrived, the carpet smelled like cat urine. I spent almost $100 cleaning the apartment before I moved out (paid to have the carpets cleaned myself) and I still only got back $20 out of a $150 deposit. I ended up paying $1,500 to move out three months before my lease ended because paying that would have been cheaper than paying rent until the lease ended.I had a one bedroom apartment and only one person living there, but I was paying around $750-780 a month (thats including all utilities, internet, and $30 pet fee). They advertised the room as being $580 when I looked at it. Also, walls are very thin and unless youre on the top floor, youre going to hear every foot step above you. When moving out, my father slipped on the new stairs they installed inside (some weird plastic material that is not safe, especially during the winter) and broke his ankle. I used the laundry room once and it was disgusting (very small, there isnt a change machine, very dirty). The only thing I would recommend about this place is the view, the size of the pool (when it was open, which didnt seem to be a lot with their maintenance on it), and their rules with pets. Minus the $300 deposit and monthly pet fee. You can definitely find better, nicer apartments, especially for the price.
I was kicked out and cited with trespassing because I climbed the balcony below me to get my dogs toy that had fallen. No one was home in that apartment as I had knocked multiple times so I did what I was able to to retrieve my property. I would definitely recommend finding somewhere else to live.
Horrible place to live! Management is very rude and will enter your apartment without notice. BEWARE OF THE BIG RED HAIRED WITCH SHES SHADY AND MEAN ESPECIALLY IF YOUR PRETTY.. MAINTENANCE WILL COME IN YOUR APARTMENT WHEN YOUR NOT HOME. THEY ARE ALWAYS HAVING FIRES ????? DO NOT MOVE TO THIS HELL HOLE
The management is accommodating to your preferences, and the rent is no more expensive than anywhere else in the area. The apartments are clean and well taken care of.
The staff was very nice while my one year least. I would have like to stay but the price for this place is way over priced! What ever rate they give you add 100$ to that. Do not get an appointment that shares the stairway wall with the bed room! Very loud. The fire place and Windows were poorly insulated so add that to heat and a.c. bill. If you like to cool, the kitchen is very small, hotel size in my opinion, its to bad they increased the rate rather then lower, it had potential
Decided to update my post. Unless youre on the top floor you can hear everything the upstairs neighbors are doing, everything!! I have complained multiple times in the last 9 months (yep 9 months). And recently the management have been ignoring me and not responding to my emails. I have multiple recordings of noise this guy makes and the thing is he is only walking and it makes a loud creaking noise it sounds like the roof is going to cave in. The walls are very thin. He wakes me up at all hours of the night and early morning. If you want to move here get a top apartment. Its a no smoking community but i saw half smoked cigarettes in the hallways and the bottom neighbors smoked weed all the time which made my apartment smell terrible. And yea there was a fire in 2017 which they never disclosed with the community. If you go to their facebook page i posted videos of what the sounds aound like from just me laying in bed, go check them out.
For the most part the staff locally is nice but the rest is not so nice. I promise you can find much nicer apartments in the area for the same rent.EDIT: I lived here over 2 years. After multiple water line shutoffs and endless cable outages plus the random power blinks which destroyed 2 power strips I felt it wasnt fair to others to leave my previous review. I also think people should be warned that 1 ding in the paint will cost you a $150 repaint of the whole apartment. The nonrefundable pet deposits and extra pet rent will gain you nothing either. My carpet was stained from their parking lot slurry and I was charged with replacing the carpet. My pet also had a couple accidents. Between non refundable deposits and pet rent I paid an extra $2000 in the time I was there that counted towards nothing. But Im expected to pay another $600 in damages.Fortunately Im not allergic to stings or I could have died from the dozen stings I received this summer because they couldnt be bothered to eliminate the wasp nests. Then we had the constant invasion of box elders. 100s of bugs entered our apartment due to poorly sealed sliding doors. And finally the mouse invasion that I told them about on 3 separate occasions. The amount of rat feces and urine behind our furniture was disgusting. If you do move there make sure you live in the building with the sprinkler system because they seem to average a fire every couple of months. In conclusion. People mostly good. Company that owns property mostly not good. Massive bug, wasp and mouse infestations. They will bill you for anything they can think of when you move out. Maintenence guys are doing their best but property is run down.We have never been billed this way after leaving an apartment. I am more than willing to pay for damage I cause but not normal wear. I also have no issue paying for pet damage that exceeds the non refundable deposit I paid.
Beware of mold that just gets painted over. After 4 months of living there, mold appeared under my bathroom sink, kitchen sink, and a few other places. Very shady characters in the main office. The conditions of my lease were discussed in full when I moved in, but they switched management sometime in between and I was screwed out of 1200 dollars when I moved out. It started off good but quickly turned into a bad experience. Several of my friends had similar issues.
DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. Ive been living at this apartment for only 3 months and I am counting down til I am able to get the hell out! The apartments are NOT worth the amount of money they charge you every month. Water, sewage, trash, and gas is all due with your rent but you dont even get that Bill until a week before rent is due so what you owe by the 3rd of every month is a wild card!! On top of all that, from the moment Ive moved in my toliet has not worked and maintenance doesnt see the issue, the carpet in the apartment is absolutely disgusting and parts of the carpet are replaced with patches that dont even match. Have a pet? So the dog park looks appeasing? Dont let the thought fool you, the park is disgusting, no one picks up their dogs droppings and almost every dog here is aggressive towards other dogs. Dont be like me and disregard reviews, holding out hope for the place. It isnt worth it!
Expect them to try and take your money when you try to break from these slum dogs... our roof was leaking and they didnt fix it, mice problems, and it smelled like gas always.Neighbors always had loud parties. Maintenance is nice, but clueless. Terrible experience. Terrible place. Dont say you werent warned
Where to begin? Well... They have unfair leasing agreements. They wouldnt give me access to my mailbox because I wouldnt get renters insurance. So when it comes to paying utilities, I get a note on my door with a dollar amount. I dont get to see any of said bills. It took them 10 months to replace the grimy carpets in the hallway. The elevator is always broken, because they continue to work with ThyssenKrupp (the worst elevator repair people to work with. They should switch to Schindler). Just so happened to be broken when I was moving in, so that made things interesting. Other tenants were extremely disrespectful when politely approached and asked to remedy an issue they were presenting. Loud barking dogs. People dont clean up after there dogs after they drop one on the grass. An intoxicated person was shot by a police officer several times outside my bedroom window, you may remember it was on the news. They are currently remodeling the management offices (it looked like it was recently renovated in the last 5 years), while the tenants live in border-line squalor conditions. The management is a complete joke. Sometimes theyll take checks from me, other times they tell me I need to get a money order. The air conditioning breaks constantly and it gets extremely hot. Its a shame. This seemed like a nice place, but I was sadly mistaken. Luckily my 1 year lease is up. Sayonara, crappy apartment.
We did not have a good experience here. The apartments they show you are not what you get. Its a very dishonest and misleading tactic, and its especially worrisome for new renters. Although the area is mostly safe, we got our car broken into more than once. Its also quite expensive for what you (dont) get.
My husband and i have lived here for sometime now and i can honestly say, DO NOT MOVE HERE! that is of course if you want rude managers that will come into your apartment no matter what the time or reason, thin walls that make you hear everything, poor quality of apartments, horrible neighbors, graffiti in the elevators that constantly break down, over priced washer and dryer break down just as much as the elevators. they break the lease themselves then try to get you evicted. they put more money towards making the managers office look nice instead of focusing on the actual apartments themselves.

I can easily say that I have never hated living somewhere more than I hate living here. But, the reason I left three stars is because my hatred for this place stems from mostly one primary burden. Before I get to that I want to highlight the pros!1. Lots of nature activities nearby and gorgeous view.!2. Convenient Parking is a huge plus!3. Apartment overall style is fairly good.4. Landlords are actually really nice and considerate people, just on the passive side5. Garbage cans scattered throughout to keep the place looking really pretty. Now for the cons1. Its fairly expensive for what you get. You are pretty much paying for the view.2. Washer & Dryers are convenient, theyre just on the expensive side.3. There is constantly something going on with the building wether it be a pipeline burst, fire, reconstruction, inspections, its just like a new distraction every week.4. Bad lighting5. Box Elder Bug InfestationThe main reason I hate this place is that I have the misfortune of being placed underneath the most inconsiderate, noisy, foulmouthed, dog beating, drunken slobs in the entire complex. I swear I have gotten to the point that I avoid coming home because I do not want to be stuck listening to these two scream and yell and pacingly stomp around. Which is super unfortunate for me as I am starting a work from home job next week. There is always at least one of them home and most of the time its both of them. I think he works like 3 days a week for a few hours. They stay up all night long and party until they fight and she leaves crying and he kicks the dog. I know that management can only do so much and Ive emailed them three times until my responses were no longer acknowledged and suddenly they made it a point to stomp their shoes when entering the home. My advice is to check the place out and listen for the people above you before you agree to move in because I am seriously so miserable and hate that I cannot enjoy the peace of my own bedroom without constant disturbance. I mean if I wanted to pay $1,100 a month to listen to two drunk people try to talk and breath at the same, Id go to a NASCAR rally.EDIT: I recently moved out of this place and needed to edit my review from 3 stars to 1 star. Since the review I previously left we still experienced more issues living here.1) My dad came home from work one day and there was a gentleman changing the locks on our storage unit. When he inquired the worker stated that is what he was instructed to do. My father went to the office and the front desk representative stated that it was an error and we had to be issued new keys.2) I was a university student when I resided here. It was my last semester and I ordered a textbook. It was shown as delivered and when I went to pick it up from the office I was told it was not there. I waited another week and went to check and they still told me it was not there. I contacted FedEx and created a case with them as well as with Weber state. I was instructed to go back to the office and ensure it was not there and when I did they still told me it was not there. After battling for 2 weeks with Weber State and FedEx they agreed to issue me a refund for the missing book. On the 4th visit I went in to REALLY ENSURE it was not there and they found it. So I had to return the book and sincerely apologize that my apartment was incompetent.3) After just moving out we received our move out bill of $499.29. Within this bill was a water reimbursement, gas reimbursement, trash income, and all these random charges that made no sense. I emailed and attempted to contact the office about these charges and was met with no response. I ended up paying the $499.29 just to be done with the place, but wanted to change my 3 star review to a 1 star review for the hassle it was to live at this place.Added issue - when we moved out there were probably close to 1,000 dead box elder bugs inside the window screen. Save yourself the hassle and live somewhere else.
These apartments are the worst! The Gate is such an unfair place. They didnt give us the rules and regulations and will not give us them. They are not a trustworthy company. Rent goes up every month. They will come into your apartment without notice. They have noise complaints at 3pm just for playing music in your home using a stock Mac Desktop.
This is the worst place to live!!!! If I could leave no stars I would! The managment is shady and fake, they tell you one thing and do another. The only thing the 3 girls in charge have going for them is that they are pretty other than that they are shady and two-faced! They have hired maintenance guys who live in the complex and they are disrespectful and rude! They can walk into your apartment at any time they want for any reason without warning! DO NOT LIVE HERE! If your not on the top floor you will hear EVERY SINGLE THING that the upstairs neighbors do! The rent is WAY over priced for the quality and the crap you put up with! Oh and you get your utility bill only a week before your rent is due, so its thrown in at the last moment. On top of that you SPLIT the usage of the utilities with the entire building even if you dont use it!! Also the decks are very poorly put together, There is 2 BIG holes in my deck and they have been there since I moved in. I was also FORCED into signing a 13 month lease because they dont want anyone moving out the first month of the year or near holidays (this is including Halloween)! This is the WORST place to live!!! I really wish I read every review and took into consideration what the negative ones were saying before moving in! They even act like they are concerned on there review posts and when you go to complain to them they dont give one s***! I cannot wait to move out!! This has been the most stressful place I have ever lived! STAY FAR AWAY!!!!
If cleanliness matters to you, DONT COME HERE. They are overpriced, and management sound like they care on the phone, but not much gets done. Im counting the days to the end of my lease.
My family & I lived ay The Gate for 7 months, it was a living nightmare. The maintenance was a joke, my fridge stopped working 4 times, they finally replaced it after the 4th time & the new fridge went out within a month of having it. They banged up the walls bringing it into my apartment as well. The plumbing in our bathroom was not very wonderful either, toilet backed up multiple times. They also came to replace a screen that was missing since before we had moved in. When they came to replace the screen they measure the window, came back with a screen & it was too large, so they hammered into the window, Im not an expert, but Ive never seen someone hammer a screen into a window. The main office lady at the time was very rude as well, argumentative, & NOT in any way helpful. Great location, horrible managment.
This place is terrible. Way over priced and my apartment is falling apart. Ive complained to the workers about a noise issue and nothing has been done to fix it Im so ready to leave!
The only pro i have for this place is the view and location everything else is such a huge disappointment. The contract is such a joke the parking is ridiculous. First week being there the building next door caught on fire and then three days later the back apartment building burns as well. They treated my neighbor unfairly when the place burnt, he was in vacation so when they called him and told him the bad news they told him he needed to be back at the apartment at a certain day and before business hour or they will throw anything that was his in his apartment unit. The plumbing is crazy three times that year the water was off for the whole apartment because a water pipe broke, we had a ceiling leak from the up stairs and it took them a while to fix and when they finally fixed the issue they did such a bad way of fixing it. And at the end of the lease our poor neighbor from down stairs had a leak because of our tub. So many issues as well with the drain in our bath tub it was always clogged and when i told maintenance all he did was to get some draino....but thats your job to fix i shouldnt be paying for draino. Hall ways from time to time smelled like weed and if it aint weed its a horrible smell of pee and theres always trash laying around all over the place. This place is bad it needs new management better and improved lease I could continue and ranting on forever but all i would let you guys know is every person that left at the end disliked it, they were happy to go and even the ones who live there are just counting the days to leave, everybody ive met there believes the place is a total joke please becareful and read the lease carefully ask all the question you need even you think its sounds dumb but please just know to run away you can find something better.
There is NOTHING resort-like about this place. STAY FAR AWAY!. Management is ONLY in it for how much money they can screw out of you and will LIE TO YOU to get it. When I first moved in I was given the option of a 6mo lease or a 13mo lease and if I chose the shorter 6mo term the rent was higher so naturally I chose the 13mo lease for less expensive rent. I just put in my 60 days notice coming up at the end of this lease, because rent has skyrocketed for renewal but I was ONLY given the option of a 6mo lease at the hugely inflated new rate, so I asked if I were to sign a long term lease if I could get a lesser rate and was told no, but they would make an exception and let me sign a longer lease but it would be even HIGHER than the new inflated rate because long term leases are less available. WTF!???Then when I ask them how a longer term lease less available next year or the year after, what are they going to boot me out at the end of another 6mo because they have given my place to someone else??? Are they not going to give me an option to renew at the end of another 6mo?? NO!! ITS JUST SCAM TO GET MORE MONEY!! This place doesnt give a crap about any of the tenants, I am extremely dissapointed in this management and have contacted their corporate offices in Colorado. Not only is this place horribly run down, outdated and falling apart but the maintenance is half-assed and never fix anything. I could dedicate an entire webside to how broken and dilapidated just my one apartment is alone. I will have to see if I can add the pictures to this review because its horrible. And before you write off this review thinking I must just be someone who doesnt pay on time and complains alot. I have never once paid rent late here or any place previously. I have never written an online review before in my life and I have lived in crappy places but none compare to the horrible management at this place. Also I have kept my apartment extremely clean and tidy (even while the neglected airducts that have never been cleaned) continue to blow clouds of dust and filth into my apartment. I have picked up after other tenants, I have cleaned the hallways after another tenant had thrown chopped onions up and own the hallways on all 3 floors of my building. I have followed all the rules, I have respected the property and my neighbors and I have never ever had a complaint filed against me from any of the people in my building or the complex, nor have I filed complaint against any of them. This management just screwed one of the best tenants they had. I will be moving as soon as possible. I am having to sign another 6mo lease to avoid having to move on Christmas day. But I am filing my notice of vacancy the same day because I will not stay at this place any longer than that. Oh and this place not only doesnt pay the water, sewage and trash for its tenents, but its not even included in rent its charged IN ADDITION to rent, they also meter the gas and charge you for that and rather than you paying for what you use, you pay for a portion the entire building uses, gas actually went UP IN SUMMER, I have never in my life ever had a gas bill INCREASE in the summer months. Electricity yes, and gas goes down and instead both went up, they will scam you every way they can. DO NOT RENT HERE. The street and mountain its on is lovely and tempting but ITS NOT WORTH IT, save yourself and keep away from these lying gossiping frauds.
Due to their hazardous road conditions my fiance, an expirenced rider, had to lay down his bike. The water access cover (that is supposed to be secured) was bumped out of place and hit the crank case cover. Causing a huge hole. The bike can not be driven now. It also threw us off the bike giving us a lot of bruises and a sprained knee. All we ask is that They repair the damaged dealt by their road. They say that safety is of their up most concern, however the dangerous road conditions, burning buildings, and super sketchy balconies that shake and creek just walking on them make living here a fearful experience. We are counting the days until we can leave.
Stay far away from this place. Horrible place
Rent to is way to high dog crap everywhere my car has been broken into and not the only person it has happen to almost 1000 dollars a month for this its terrible.so glad Im out of here in two months and if I move out 17 days early they are gonna charge me two months rent but I got money so now Im just gonna print stickers and post on every website till I put them out of business
