Great Property Management Co offering affordable options in one of the most competitive markets. The units are renovated & cost effective, plus I have a huge patio which is a hard find living in downtown Oakland. Rent Controlled units as well, for those finding them in between Top Tier rentals which are over priced and who don’t qualify for Below or Moderate Market Rate Programs.

This review is for Brian Baatar that manages 350 Vernon St in Oakland and not J&R Associates. I lived in my until for almost 4 years and had a wonderful experience with the management of the building by him. Brian is super responsiveness, courteous and very understanding. He helped handle various issues throughout the years. I definitely had some communication issues with the main office in terms of lack of urgency / delayed responses.

I recently moved out of an apartment managed by J&R Associates as part of an interstate move. The building manager (Alejandra) and maintenance staff were quite responsive, and I feel I was treated fairly with regards to the security deposit. It was sometime difficult getting in touch with the management company itself, and the building I was in would benefit from some upgrades/renovations, but ultimately I was satisfied renting from J&R.

While the landlord (Alejandra) and maintenance staff (Sergio) at my J&R Associate owned apartment complex were helpful and supportive, I felt that the J&R Associate company was not. Overall, I feel that J&R Associates is not looking out for the best interests of their tenants. I recommend looking to rent from another property management company.Two things happened to lead me to this: 1) After I moved out, they mistakenly charged me for another months rent and the money was not returned for almost two weeks. 2) I felt they significantly overcharged me for paint touch up in my apartment. When I called to discuss the charges, I was met with a dismissive and un-empathetic employee who said it is what it is.

I have never once had a late payment and my property manager is fantastic, but J&R Associates couldn’t even be bothered to call my property manager on my behalf when I locked myself out of my apartment. Lola said “per instructions” she couldn’t help me. All I was asking was for her to try, just try to reach her by calling from J&R’s main line. She was not empathetic or helpful IN ANY CAPACITY. A simple phone call, even if she got the same results would’ve put my mind at ease with her efforts, but nope.

They are good people and they keep smiles on they faces i been with them for 11 years so no they good and will come out and fix what ever NEEDS fix and call you 2 weeks after to see if its still going good.

1551 Madison has an on-site manager that basically harasses all the residents (Alejandra). She is super volatile and territory. I’ve spoken to all of my neighbors and the vast majority of them agreed.

Good company to rent Ive been renting my condo for 4 years and they take really good care of all my needs good management

They lose your information, they lose your money order, your receipts and apparently they dont keep track of anything. They dont have correct information. No good communication between anyone. they just want your money.. Make sure if u do rent with them to keep ALL your Receipts.

We had ongoing noise issues in our apartment and they couldnt be bothered to even reply to emails. Definitely the worst management company Ive used.

NOT IMPRESSEDProblems from the get go. Was referred for a studio and was told they didnt have that or ANYTHING available. That turned out to be false.Carpets were not cleaned upon move in and are past the point of cleaning.Resident manager misplaced one of two rent checks and comes to my door asking ME where it is.Is associated with LAPHAM Co. ...look at there reviews.

Never answer email complaints about pot smoking neighbors - do yourself a favor and don’t rent at 1438 Madison St. The lobby and my apartment stinks.

J&R Associates were not good landlords at all. They were money hungry but never wanted to fix anything in my house. When I had an issueThey were always inconvenienced. I wouldnt recommend living here to anyone.

I have lived in 315 Wayne pl its dirty and a lot of bedbugs
