I had all of my siblings and my mom come to the salon so that we could get our nails done the day before my wedding. The people working were so kind and accommodating. They let us all sit together and didnt mind that we were talking and laughing the whole time. It was such a fun experience that I will remember forever. My gel manicure turned out beautifully and lasted for two and half weeks. I can’t wait to come back! Thank you
Lisa is the best. Great job. Nice place to pedicure on Sunday day moms
The quality here is usually pretty good. I just got a pedicure for the first time since before the pandemic. I had the younger male nail tech and he gave a great long massage for the regular price.
Only the men speak English and nun of the women do. I came in and they said pick a color so I’m waiting then she says wait will be 5 hours. I said why would you have me pick a color. So I end up calling soon as i left just to see what they were going to say and she said 30 minutes. I said you just told me 5 hours and it was quiet handed the phone to a CUSTOMER like what?????? And then she was making the customer tell me 30 minutes. ( I guess cause she didn’t speak English well) but then don’t answer the phone. This was about the 4th time I been here. Then they ALWAYSSSSSS asking for a tip. I always tip but they be asking me before I even finish paying that’s annoying and makes me not want to give them anything at all.
Walked in, was immediately taken in and got a pedi, my gf got a mani, we were done in 45 mins! Good service, good selection of colors, and staff is really nice! Prices are great too!
How disappointing! The technician worked so brusquely on my pedicure that she yanked the skin off and it started bleeding. Wound up with an infected toe that I had to soak in hydrogen peroxide for three days afterwards. When I finally recovered from that I realized she had used two different colors of polish on my left and right feet. Never going back there.
Loved my nails, the nail tech was gentle, service was great!!!
As usual Paul, Lynn and Sam took wonderful care of us. We were in desperate need of pampering after being shut in for the past 4 months.Everyone was wearing masks, and SOCIAL DISTANCING and SANTIZING was practiced after each customer.Bravo Paul and staff. Thank you for bringing us back to our old normal. We certainly missed it, and we missed you as well!
Ladies there are not gentleThey take 10 bucks for 10 minutes leg massage and not even massageIt’s was complete waste of moneyI asked for dip nail polish and the quality was disasterI had been asked to give tip before the service was completedThe lady was horrible and she asked me to increase the tip tooAbsolutely disaster and waste of moneyUnhappy and never ever visit this place
Angela is wonderful. Nice place.
They put on my middle nail crocked and nail polish they used for my nails faded on my toes after a couple of days.
Terrible experience with the customer service very hard looks from Employees and management was weird. Seem discriminating to me and very uncomfortable as well. 😔😔😔
Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had. Went in for a dip. Besides the fact that my nails look horrible, I’m sure it won’t last. The polish is so thick and rippled, It looks like a 10 year old did it. A complete waste of money. I will NEVER go here again
I really enjoyed my time here it was very comfortable and I felt very welcome, the staff were very willing to help you. I engaged in great conversation with the staff and they knew exactly what I wanted for my manicure. I enjoyed the comfortable chairs and furniture they have. Everything flows together I felt like I was among friends I have known for forever. I felt like I was among friends I have known for forever. I will recommend this place to anyone wanting great service.
Ill keep it clear and honest. I have had my nails done here multiple times because the location is extremely convenient. However, I would not recommend Avenue Nail Spa. Heres why:Unprofessional: The staff will all gather around you, roughly tugging at your hands and wrists instead of communicating to you, their client. The last time I was there I arrived at 7 (they close at 8:30). Two gentleman pointed at the wall and screamed COLOR! before I sat in the service chair. No hospitality. One man then called another. They both grabbed my hands and pulled my fingers (so strange!). I asked if there was a problem and was told they didnt have time to help me. Huh?!This, unfortunately, is their m.o. If youre short on time and nothing else is open, just know what youre getting into.
One of my best experiences at this salon. Super clean, professional, polite, quick and efficient... but still paid attention to detail. Everything was perfect and I had no complaints... which Ive never been able to say about another nail salon, and Ive been to many!
I stopped in to Avenue Nail Spa one day when I was meeting some friends in Oak Park. I got in on the train early and had a little time to kill before seeing them. I saw this place right by the green line so I decided to stop in for a quick manicure. They did a great job and all of my friends noticed and complimented it when I met them for dinner! Bonus: I live in the city, so the prices here are pretty reasonable in comparison.
My cousin brought me here to enjoy a nice manicure and pedicure and unfortunately my pedicure literally took only 6 or 7 minutes! Ridiculous! I’m shocked this place was pack. The ladies there are very rude! It seem they were whispering to each other about each client. If they are saying something to each other then yes, Most likely they are talking about you! Luckily my cousin and I made the best out the situation so we did enjoy our nail color but that was all. Their concern is not customer service but your money! Don’t come here! Plenty of other great nail salons around the area.
Whenever I visit my friends in Oak Park, we get our nails done at Avenue Nail Spa. It’s super convenient for me coming from the city because it’s right off the Green Line. The prices are spot on so I don’t feel like I’m getting ripped off like I do at some places in the city. They always get our group started so quickly and they are super efficient so we arent waiting around for everyone to get done. Great price + great service = coming back!
I usually go there for an eyebrow waxing and for the most part they were good. Today I went in to clean up my brows and the lady completely messed up my left one. It’s completely uneven and I only noticed it when I was back at home. Not a happy person.
Fairly well ventilated, good service, good prices and nice atmosphere. The seperate plastic disposable bags used within the foot basin and other sanitization tactics were well appreciated.
Lovely people here. Everything is so organized and in order. The people here are so polite and generous. Love it. Smiled the whole time. 👍
They do a nice job. In and out quickly. Nice staff.
Nail techs on multiple occasions and were rude and unprofessional. Additionally, they reuse the nail instruments without cleaning/sterilization. Too bad, because I really wanted to like this place.
Its a nice and clean atmospheres. But one one nail tech could not understand my request. I asked her multiple times to get someone to assist. She finally did after waiting over an hour. I was there for over 2 hours for a overlay and a Polish change. Unacceptable.
I went there once and the services were so-so - nothing to rave about. Then I called one day to see if there was any availability for a walk-in (on a Monday in the early afternoon) and got a really rude man on the phone. Just kind of scoffed at my request and then said you need to give me a time and I said well, any time today and he said are you trying to make an appointment or walk in? you can walk-in but there are 4 people waiting. Ok so a very easy answer to my original question of do you have any availability for a mani-pedi today? would have been: well currently we have 4 people walking but I can take your name for an appointment later if that works. Needless to say, Ill find somewhere else...
Worst set of nails Ive ever had! Lumpy, super thick and not so great service. Pedicure was pretty decent when you pay the extra $$ for the massage
DONT EVER GO HERE! There service is totally unfriendly. They’ll literally did my pedicure in 10 minutes. The lady pretty much tried forcing me to write the tip on the receipt even thought it was really bad service and I was going to do cash tip. All in all I hope place goes out of service they Ave no customer service what so ever even from the moment you walk in.
DO NOT RECOMMENDMy friend & I came in Saturday night at 7:30, keep in mind this place closes at 8:30. Upon entering we were told to go pick a color. We did and no one told us where to go so we went to go sit on the bench. The women quickly told us “over here” which we thought was weird because they screamed. Our pedicure lasted no longer than 15 minutes. My friends water was too cold. When she asked if she can have it warmer, the lady turned off the water- WITHOUT MAKING IT WARMER. They didn’t have our feet soaking no longer than 2-3 minutes. Our toes were quickly clipped and scrubbed. The hot rock was like 10 seconds. My friend asked for the pamphlet and the lady told her massage or not. Confused, my friend asked again for the pamphlet once more. That’s when the lady told her, “you asked me, I tell you” very rudely. Once polished, my lady asked if they were ok and she fixed the minor error. However, my friend was not told and got her feet pushed off and quickly told to go sit by the drying area. Upon paying, we signed and the lady told us to tip because we left the tip area empty. We were shocked because we obviously were but were going to give it in cash. We noticed someone was still on the chair being attended as we left. Thus assuming we were a rushed job. I did not understand. Yes we got there towards the last hour, however we gave more than enough time. I am disappointed.
Clean, usually fast, nice work
I used to like it here. Very comfortable atmosphere, But the nail techs have no idea what they are doing. Multiple times Ive been disappointed.
Awful. Would never go there again. Fruit flies flying around. They used a putrid smelling lotion on legs! I had to drive home with windows open and shower as soon as I got home. Still smelling it. They started my pedicure before soaking my feet. Woman next to me soaked for about 15 minutes before her pedicure. When I arrived for my pedicure they took a techinician who was doing a manicure off of that customer to do my pedicure. It was very awkward sitting there getting a pedicure while the other customer sat and waited with her hands out. The technician told her to go pick out a color. Then, two other people worked on her manicure after the original nail tech left her to do my pedicure. Strange place. No fans to dry nails.
They keep the store clean, and the nail techs are always so nice to me. I color my hair odd colors, so they love to try to find matching colors so I am always color coordinated. The prices are quite reasonable so I dont mind traveling a bit out of my way for their services. Try them today!
Awesome staff! Amazing job on my mani/pedi and outstanding massage!
Worse place in oak park to get your nails done...the staff is unprofessional and they do not do a good job. They made fun of the tip that I gave them and even asked for more. I should have not given her anything for the terrible service. Never going back again!!!
7 hours ago I received the worst mani/pedi I’ve ever had. My pre-tween daughter does a better polish job never again straight TRASH. But I did notice that the caucasian ladies next me had excellently executed nails. Just an observation but it seems most of the poor ratings are from women of color, there seems to be a pattern here.
1st time going here and I experienced very poor quality service. Will never go back here again. My cousin and I went here, the tech rushed through my pedicure. I noticed the tech that did my cousins pedi used hot stones. When I asked about it, the person at the front desk proceeded to tell me that this was a separate service which I know my cousin didnt ask for. Also the polish job was as if a kid did it. Not happy at all with this place. The decor is nice but the service is very poor. I didnt waist my time complaining because I didnt see any resolution coming from it.
I have been going to Avenue Nail Spa for the last year, and I always leave with my toes looking great! Their approach to pedicures are different than other nail salons. They do a basic pedicure which takes about 10 mins, and then you can add on massage time (10 mins for $12 or 15 mins for $15). The massages are great! Staff is always professional and friendly, very little wait time (if at all), and there is a good color selection. The atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried, which I very much appreciate. Definitely recommend.
Clean, easy walk ins, dont balk at a 65 guy with a size 14 foot wanting a full service pedicure/massage. Great staff.
HORRIBLE experience. Had to ask the lady multiple times to fix. Didn’t completely remove my old polish. Had to ask her to. You can clearly see the layers she did, nails aren’t even smooth from her filing. She missed the middle of my nail had to ask her after she “finished” to go over because t had not been painted at all. My nails have never looked great after leaving avenue nail salon but this time has been way worse. Please save your $60 ladies and do it yourself. They will look better too I swear
They dont deserve a single star, but you have to give something to write a review.Recently a friend told me a story about her experience at -Avenue Nail Spa129 N Oak Park Ave.Oak ParkIt was late in the evening and my friend and her child were enjoying belated celebratory pedicures. Not too many customers in the spa at that late hour.It soon became obvious that the 6 - 7 workers were having a debate on the gender of this child. Funny how hate is understood in any language. Between the workers tone and uncomfortable sneers one worker finally asked, Boy or girl?I will NEVER go to the spa and I encourage all of you to do the same.Avenue Nail Salon - you bring shame to this open-minded and loving community.
I was visiting a friend out in Oak Park last weekend and we decided to have a girls day starting with manis and pedis at Avenue Nail Spa. Were not divas, but we wanted a clean, nice place where we could relax and enjoy ourselves killing time and chatting. That’s exactly what this place is. The staff there was very friendly and the prices were great! You get a premium experience at a value price. I left very pleased with my nails and toes. I’m definitely coming back!
Staff is talking to much to each other, my pedicure in other places is usually 30 to 35 min she took only 15 min she did so fast to rush me for next customer. Really bad customer service and she got upset and talking about me because I don’t give her tip no recommend!!!
Horrible.... Worse Manipedi I have ever had. Gave this place a 2nd chance today. Nope .. never going back. This lady did my nails like a child. Wish I could add a pic. Manager is NO help he sits at the front on his phone. I get upset everytime I look at my hands and feet.
Good price and great service. They include hot stone massage and heel parafin treatment in their pedicure treatment. Walk in or make appt they will take great care of you.
I came to get a pedicure on a Tuesday at 5pm. It is maybe 4-5 customers in here. The nail tech rushed my pedicure and finished in 5 minutes. All she did was soaked my feet and clip my toe nails down. She was very rude and rough. I dont recommend anyone coming due to the fact they are always rushing their service even when they are empty! Horrible service, I will not be coming back again!
Whenever I’m feeling like getting pampered in a clean, cheery environment, I go to Avenue Nail Spa. I love the atmosphere inside – it’s very warm, inviting, and relaxing, making it the perfect afternoon getaway. The staff is also very friendly, adding to the experience. The wait wasn’t long at all and my pedicure felt and looked great. This is definitely my favorite place to go when I’m in the area and need to get my nails done!
Do not get your nails done here. I came here becuase I was in the area...my other nail places are on the northside and west loop. My pedicure was sloppy and two toes did not make it through the week...and my “no chip” chipped the next day. And I do not work with my hands (I am a brand strategist)....so...no reason for this to happen. Just horrible.
The worst customer service in Oak Park! They are very impersonable and unfriendly. The store, itself, is beautiful and clean but the people running it have bad attitudes and act as if, you need to cater to them. I was turned down, immediately, walking in at 8:05pm, for a basic $13 manicure. I just needed my nails painted in a nude color. I have been in here 2x before and will never go back.
Just left there one minute ago. My experience was horrible.Sometimes its best to stick with what you know. Ive visited this place twice in the past, it wasnt all that great but you could get by. Well today I had a pedicure, the whol thing took 20 minutes including the polish, the longest part was my drying time. Once my toes were dry I looked at the polish it seems like a six month old polished my toes. I f isnt even complain, I just left. I usually go to Fantasy Nails on North Avenue and they do a thorough job everyt me but hey I thought I could get good service I. Oak Park but nope. I will never return to this place.NEVER not even for a free job.
I got Randis nails done here and she likes them a lot, so I thank you for your service. I will return next week.
I would not recommend this place to any one! I had a no-chip manicure, that’s literally cracking off after just 4 days! Like really my pedi has also chipped and TBH my pedi is always the one that lasts! I have no idea why people say their prices are great. I think $60 was a lil high for the poor service and obviously cheap material they use. But I guess lesson learned, beware ladies.
Love the place and the service. Friendly nails technicians, theyre quick but still good quality work.
I have NEVER given such a low rating but never have I ever been this upset and displeased with a service. My boyfriend and I came for mani-pedis, massage, and wax. We paid a little over $100 for everything. Let me just say, this was the worst experience I have ever had at a salon. We came in and requested only mani pedis, but they kept offering more services, and we weren’t sure if they were telling us we’re getting messages or if it was a choice, they took it as a yes. We were fine with it since we both could’ve used a nice massage and the place seemed promising from what we could tell to the eye. But looks can be deceiving.Pedicure: I picked out a nail color and the lady was hard to understand, but I was still kind, as I understand the language barrier but she came off aggressive and had a bit of an attitude as well, so I had asked if she could find a dark color similar to the one I had chosen that would be great and she comes back with a purple instead of the blue I was looking for. Which was fine since purple was an option and I ended up liking the color. But the nail job was poorly done. My nails weren’t cut as even and you could notice until after the polish dried to see the end result. I wanted my toe nails cut round not square and I had requested just that. Too many coats and you can tell, I didn’t even have a chance to check my toe nails to make sure they were dry cause she kept asking me to pay first while my boyfriend was getting his back waxed. But I looked at my nails properly when I got home and the corner was smeared off... We had not even gotten to my manicure yet mind you. The whole experience seemed rushed. She spent more time on one foot than the other and I feel like we didn’t get the best or the full experience. And my boyfriends a podiatrist. He knows a good foot care treatment when given. His nails weren’t even properly filed or cut.Manicure: during my mani, I tried to tell her to be sure to cover the whole nail as I saw some blank corner and side areas that still needed to be covered. She kept telling me to relax and eventually I did, trying to still remain positive and trusting her to do a good job as she did seem nice which is why I didn’t say anything right out then and there. But now that I’m looking at the dried result you can tell the first coat from the second to third.Massage: while I was getting my mani done I was watching my boyfriend get his massage done and the lady who was doing his pedi/wax/massage was on her phone, and it seemed like she had a timer on but when we met up at the end after everything was done, he said he heard a camera shutter from her phone and he asked me what I saw and I did see her on her phone doing something while giving him a back massage with one hand that seemed subpar/ mediocre. I was almost hoping he’d be done before I started mine so I knew whether or not it was worth it. Unfortunately too late. Both of us were so displeased with the massage. We didn’t get any relief. If we wanted our backs patted and rubbed we could’ve done that at home. There was no thoroughness and here quite frankly this service was not worth it.Wax: he was very displeased with the back wax. He had asked for the hot wax and she still used a wax stick instead. He also said she pulled off the wax strips slow and it was quite painful. On top of that she had used Long waxing strips. And when she was done, she didn’t even give him enough time to put his shirt back in before opening the door. He was very mad about this. When I checked his back before leaving the waxing job wasn’t even done that well and you could tell by the multiple bumps and redness. I asked him if she put anything to help soothe his skin and he said “minimal, just a drop”Overall, though this was our first time at this salon, our experience rushed, and services kept being added. We wanted the mani and pedicures. We had hoped for better customer service. We weren’t even asked how we liked each service, we just went from one thing and jumped right into the other. Needless to say we will not be coming back.
Worse manicure Ive ever had all 9 minutes
Love them, wait isnt long, love the wax they put on your heels, very friendly, great prices
Good for a quick mani/pedi if youre in the neighborhood. I like that get carry OPI and Essie in most colors. They also have a pretty extensive collection of no-chip color options.
Very nice place. Got a mani and a pedi, the mani was no chip so a total of $55. Loved my nails but not the service. People here look like they hate their job and not friendly at all. If not I wouldve given it 5 stars
This place is horrible. They made my gel nail surface and edge super uneven and ugly. They are rude and force customer give tip during the session, even before you see the final ugly finish.Dont go waste your time and money. My worst nail experience ever.
Cheap and not that great of a job Id rather spend a little more at Spa O for a better quality pedicure.
They are very rude and talk about you behind your back... And the nail work chips in a day I would never suggest going to this place also when your nails are wet they get mad if you do anything then they stand there wanting tip and when getting the tip I dented my wet nails and they were mad!
Very good not expensive appt or walk in
I have been to this place many times but after my past two experiences I will never go back. My nails started chipping the next day and the paint job was very messy. I have also reciveved many waxing services prior to my horrible experiences and lets just say the main reason why I will NEVER go back is because she burned me in a not so great place. They have become sloppy and lazy and I am very disappointed.
Worst pedicure ever, would NOT recommend
Very nice technician and very efficient.
Really rude staff. I would not recommend you go here.
We not be back, it is like a speedy assembly line and the manicure was sloppy.
I found the individual who did my nails to be quite rude. She even got an attitude with the tip I gave her, which I gave even though I did not get any massage or extra services. Very unprofessional and terrible atmosphere. I will not be returning.
The neck/shoulder massage for only 12.00 is so worth it when you are soaking off those no chip nails.
Person was rude
$38 for some of the worst, unprofessional service ever
Fabulous nail salon, the best
Service wasnt what I expected. Nail tech seemed to be in a rush.
They are really good
Lovely spa!
The best in Oak Park!!!
Awesome, soothing, relaxing, experience
Best in Oak Park!
