Had an appointment for an oil change was told the car would be done 5.5 hours after my appointment this is the second time this has happen. Save your time save your money. These people don’t know what they are doing lol changes take 10 mins especially if you make an appointment but not at this place 5.5 hours.

Had great relationship with the previous management. They use to provide good service but the new management don’t seem to care.I run a local car rental business and give them a lot of vehicles but lately they don’t seem to care for the business anymore. They keep our vehicles for more than a day just to complete an oil change. Very disappointing!!!!

Set an appointment, and was accepted for the following day for a simple oil change on my supported work fleet truck. Drove 30 minutes after work to get the oil change, and was told that they were no longer going to change my oil. Doesnt make a whole lot of sense to have a fleet supporting garage if they dont want to work on the trucks.

Staff seems to like waisting peoples time and getting paid for it. I called to check in on my car and Rick answered saying it was almost done. I come 5 minutes later and my car hasnt even gone into the shop its still parked in the lot. Then he wants to tell the mechanic to pull my car in as Im here. So then as 20 minutes go by to change my tire I go outside to check the progress and the mechanics are just hanging out outside and as they see me approaching they split up and start to work. I would suggest for anyone who isnt wanting to wait 3+ hours for a tire change that can be done in 30 minutes to not come here.

Supposedly management took out all the good employees and brought in garbage. Everything is mishandled and people wait forever for simple things to be done. Im not sure in what direction pepboys is trying to go in. Looks like they keep changing their setup to aquire more customers, but cant keep employees. Never seen a more unorganized buisness in my entire life. I also come to realize that they push their employees and require them to deliver results that are nearly impossible 2 managers 1 master tech and a few general techs doesnt cut it in the auto industry. You would have to be a fool to expect a lot from that. Previous team was reasonable and very effective and efficient at rolling out cars. Nice try pepboys. 👏

Only doing mechanical work and they dont carry any parts. High prices too. Wont go back.

I had a 1pm appointment for oil change and the assistant manager told me I had to wait 3 hours, because they were working on 2 other cars and when done, it would take an hour and a half to finish mine. Apparently, its company policy to conduct inspection in order to sell more. Not going there again.

Its ok. I cant really give them an honest review cause all I did was walk in and ask questions about getting a oil change and charging my ac. I wanted to find out how much they charge and what the process was and I pretty much made an appointment to bring in my car tomorrow. This is going to be my first time having them do any work on my car so lets just say Im alittle skeptical. Well Ill let you guys know how it went after they get done with my car. So for now its only an ok review.

Michael, the Assistant Manager was a lifesaver! I had a nail in my tire, this young man was first rate! He fixed the problem, didn’t try to sell extra services. I hope Pep Boys promotes him! I’ll be back to see Michael!

Took my car in to get oil change. The car smelt like burning oil. I opened the hood to see they forgot to put the cap on the resevoir, the cap was still sitting on top of it. Oil leaked all over the place. I called and they told me to bring it in the next day. I went ahead and brought it in ASAP. They topped off the oil and cleaned the oil mess. But didnt offer much of an apology. When I asked about getting a discount on the oil change they offered me a free oil change or to speak to the manager the next day. Do they really expect me to go back? Really?

They Did the aliment on my car 4 months ago, and they put on my recive that was for one year.. After 4 months, the aliment on my car now is bad. Im in the pep Boys right now and they have told me that the aliment of my recive is only for 3 months... When in the paper says one year... After paying a lot of money for 3 months. I will never come back to this location... DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND DONT COME TO THIS LOCATION, The are going to steal your money.

2 hours and no work done on my car all it needed was a simple smoke test. Waste of time

A few days ago I placed an order online to have 4 tires installed at 2pm today. I show up today and they only have 3 tires. I took half a day off of work to get this done and I left with nothing. Shouldn’t they have had the tires prepped and ready? Danny said sorry and asked if I could leave the car. It’s 0° out and snowing. What’s the point of making an appointment if they’re not ready for you?

I had made an appointment to purchase and install 4 tires for the third time in 10 years. Took the car in at 9:30AM for a 10AM time slot. After 5 and a half hours later they called me to say that a wheel lock was needed to get the tires installed. I had already mentioned that I did not have any key for the locks and they told me that THAT WAS NOT A PROBLEM. At the time of their call 5 and a half hours later I was informed that there would be a $64 per tire fee to get the locks cut. How come the two other times there was no charge, was my comment. The associates on duty did not have an answer for me. I basically wasted my entire day and got nothing accomplished.

Did oil change and tire rotation in the Niles location. The team was very friendly and professional, especially Manny. Very happy with the service Ive received. And even though I was the very last 5pm customer on Sat, they spent the time walking me through everything that needs to be done.

Dennis was extremely helpful! I had a problem with a different location where they didnt repair my car the way theyre supposed to so I asked Dennis to get on it and make sure everything is done correctly. He sure did and now my car is perfect. Thank you, will be coming here from now on.

I received my first oil change with Pep Boys and I will continue to do full service with Pep Boys in Niles, Illinois. This pep boys is awsome, the new manager working there was very helpful and pleasant as well as the mechanic who worked on my car his name is Shah. When Shah was done working on my car he showed me what happened well teaching me along the way. Overall it was a great experience and I will return. Im not sure why the ratings are so poor honestly but Im sure they will be going up in the near future. Thanks guys you Rock!

I took my car to this place for wheel alignment. Within a week the car started acting up. I took back for them to look at it they told me they wont fix it until I pay. The manager started yelling at me and told me to leave. Bad place to take your car

From my experience with them, I see that their dealings with the customer are not good and the work team does not have any experience,they did aliment on my car and was so bad almost do accident because that, I advise all people not to deal with these people

I had a flat tier and it was evening most auto shop either closed or about to close. The only open shop was Pep Boys they were about to close in 30 mins. I called Pep Boys, Abby answered and told me to come and they will help, they stayed lil longer just to help me.Ever since, I always go to Pep Boys to fix any issue for my vehicle. They provide very excellent services and on top of that very wonderful customer service.I recommend this place!!!

Explanation of the work being performed. Should have gone the extra mile and unplugged the ECM based on my explanation of my engine light being on possibly caused by low voltage to the oxygen sensor and my battery being bad.

I come here for all my vehicles services. They are very professional and courteous to theyre clients needs and time.

Made an appointment online for 12 PM while at work to patch my tire. Dropped off my car within minutes, picked it up at 5:20, and the check out process was quick and pleasant. The front associates were friendly and I didnt feel intimated as a female, alone. Would definitely come back! And it was affordable! $22 for a tire patch... nice!

I made an appointment for an oil change, tire rotation, and to seal a leak in my tire. I arrived ten minutes early to my appointment and was told that I would have to wait because their mechanics were all busy.I waited an hour an a half for the oil change, tire rotation, and tire. After the service, I turned my car on and both the tire pressure and the oil change indicator lights were still on on my dashboard. I went back into the shop and asked them to reset the lights and was told that they would reset after driving. I did drive an hour to get home and both lights stayed on. I can reset the light at home using the infotainment system, but this is something that I dont really feel like I should have to do myself after paying for the service, especially since I asked them to do it. When I checked the tire pressure on all four tires, one tire was still low. I am not sure if the leak was ever actually sealed.Part of the oil change service is a courtesy vehicle inspection. I knew before going to Pep Boys that one of my front headlight bulbs was out and I am probably due for new windshield wipers. A lighting systems check and a wiper blade check is part of the courtesy vehicle inspection, however, nothing was mentioned to be about the headlight bulb or the wiper blades. I do not think there was a vehicle inspection done.Dont waste your time coming here. There are about a thousand places to get an oil change and fix a tire. Choose one of those places instead.

Ive gone here a few times because they have provided adequate service for an affordable price. I called today to make an appointment for tomorrow, and the person immediately went into how they are done for the day. I said that is fine, what about tomorrow? He says 10am. I asked how much a specific service was and he wasnt listening (again) and verbally quoted something else. Then he asked to place me on hold because he has 5 people at his counter - all the while sounding very inconvenienced. After a few minutes and thought, I decided it best to stick with my dealership. I always try to save a buck, but probably not a good idea with a churn and burn attitude. It doesnt feel they have the customer best interest at heart.

My vehicles alternator belt broke while driving and the vehicle stopped in the middle of heavy traffic. Got help from a local cop in getting to a safe place for towing. Due to the timing, not many places were open, able AND willing to take a vehicle in. These folks declined as well so i went to another pep boys in arlington heights who did a great job.

Overall very happy with my experience at Pep Boys. The guys there were very knowledgeable.

It took five hours to put four tires on, even after I scheduled an appointment ahead of time. Everyone was nice and trying their best, but this place seems incredibly disorganized and understaffed.

Man with glasses and curly hair “helps me”There’s a sale of buy 3 tires get 4th free. Two options, getting them installed for extra cost or just pick them up. When I get there, he tells me promotion only works if I pre order them online. Go back to my car and pre order them (about $360 total with taxes). Getting ready to pay and my total is about $580 . He tells me the promotion only applies with installation & road hazard even though I had already done my pre order and selected the option of picking up only. I showed him my pre order confirmation email and what it said on their own website. At the end, he had his mind set and so did I. I wasn’t going to waste anymore time dealing with him so I went and bought 4 tires somewhere else and lost me as their customer.

Great Service for Great Price. I had an issue with an alternator for my 2008 Honda accord. The price was affordable to replace and $200 cheaper what Honda offered. Plus It has lifetime warranty!!

I made an appointment to have 4 news tires installed. I arrived on time at 1pm and when I asked how long this would take she said 1 1/2 hours -2 hours. They offered me a Lyft ride home and said they would call and send a driver to pick me up when it was done. At 3:45 I called to ask when it would be done and they said the mechanic just now started working on it and it would be about 1-1/2 hours. No phone call to let me know of a delay. So frustrating and will not be coming back to this location.

Worst service ever. They dont know how to fix complicated stuff. They are inexperienced and they have the worst service ever. I made an appointment at 11 and when i arrived he told me we are busy and i have to be more understanding!!!!!! I told him a million time on the phone that i dont have time, but he said come anyway. Their tires are the worst, they are cheap but you would have to change them after 2 months. I dont know i came to this place. Never ever again.

Great staff and service. I hit a pothole on my way to work. Called them up (they open at 7 a.m.!) and they replaced two tires so quickly that I still made it to work on time. I was worried they would try to sell me more than I needed, but not these guys. They did great work for a fair price. Im changing my appt for new brakes to them from a competitor. Highly recommend.

Refused to do a tire repair with an hour left before closing and no cars in the shop, said it would take 45 minutes to do a tire repair. Never in my life has it ever taken 45 minutes to do a tire repair.

Waited for lyft inspection while Manager Dennis took care if several other walk ins after me.

Writing this review for Mr. Abby (store manager) who has to some extent elevated the customer service for this branch. Very nice guy.

Scheduled an appointment for a Saturday at 10 AM to replace 4 tires on my car a WEEK in advance, when I show up for the appointment I hear that they dont even have the tires yet and needs to be delivered from other stores.I had to take an Uber to get home for something that I would normally just wait an hour at the store. I had to borrow a car seat from a friend since I had to pick up my son at 2 PM but the car was not ready by then.No follow ups at all during the whole process, I called at 1 PM and then again at 4 PM to finally hear that the car was ready. No apologies of any nature when I showed up to pick up the car and I had enough for the day to waste my energy arguing with people who dont seem to care about their work or customers.I really enjoyed my experiences with Pep Boys located in Forest Park for a long time but this location is something totally different from what I am used to.Why bother creating an appointment process when you cant keep up with that at all? Unexpected things and mistakes can happen but you should at least be sorry about it. Extremely disappointed overall.

Took off work. Preplanned my day to get new tires. All the tires were not in for my appointment time. The guy helping me didnt care less. I wont do business in this kind of environment. So i cancelled and left.

Just ordered 4 new tires with installation online. Made an appointment to get them installed the next day. Online it said tires should be there after 12PM, and so it allowed me to make an appointment for 1PM. Ive had enough experiences with shops out there to call in advance and ask if the tires were there and ready. Of course they were not, they had not been delivered from the other store. My apt was for 1PM, and was told that the tires would not be delivered until 2:30-3PM. The guy who answered the phone was nice enough, and he did call the other store to find out the delayed status of the tire delivery, but man, how can you guys operate a business like this and expect repeat customers? We dont all have the luxury of making appointments and then changing it on a whim because your folks operate on a different schedule than the ones who set appointments online!

Gave them a try and Im very happy. Ive gone to Car-X and a dealer that couldnt locate a suspension issue under their free diagnostic procedure. Within 15 minutes I had an answer from these guys and will be going back for all future issues. I only had to pay $20 which was worth it.

Good quick service. Beware they charge miscellaneous shop fee which is not mentioned in the initial estimate. For me thats a 15 dollar shop fee ripoff. They should mention the total estimate earlier.

From the moment I walked in the staff was very friendly and helpful. The Manager was willing to listen to my concerns and they did a great job with my car. Ive tried many car shops in the past with horrible customer service but I look forward to doing business with Pep boys again.

Showed up for appointment and they said it would be an hour after an hour asked how long you would be they said another 2 hours I told them I would take it somewhere else. Dont waste your time super unprofessional and rude

They had my van towed without my consent. It was also the roof over my head. The day before Easter. Knowing someone was on the way to buy the van and that money was going to be used to pay for my plane ticket to AZ where my father was in the ER. I had to pay $216 to the tow company, when I didnt have enough money to get my plane ticket to see my father in possibly his last days with us. Thank you Pep Boys for a great Easter...slept on a cold concrete store front in only shorts and a tshirt. Remember, I remember!!

I needed an oil change, and they refused to take care of me. They refused service on me. Never coming back to pep boys. Ive been a customer for over 10 years and they do this. Pep boy not what it use to be, especially refusing service to a customer. Negative 5 stars!!!

Went in there last Wednesday for a break inspection. After they inspected my car they informed me that It needed pads and rotors. I was okay with it. He also informed me that it might also need to replace the calipers but that the ONLY way to know if they needed to be replaced was to drive the car after the new pads and rotors were installed. I asked the gentlemen if there was a way to know before doing that because if it needed to be replaced it would have brought up the total to a little over $1,000. He once again said that the ONLY way was to drive it after the new parts were installed. I agreed to pay and after I agreed to pay, he went to the back and came back out and informed me that the calipers needed to be replaced. I found it really shady and I told him to get my car down and I was going to call him the day after. He tried to get me to leave the car there by dropping the price a little but at that point I didnt want to leave it. The next day I took my car to another shop and I got the pads and rotors replaced and they told me that there was NOTHING wrong with the calipers and they didnt have to be changed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Went in to get a tune up, replacing spark plugs. work got done but was informed by them that i needed other repairs/maintenance done. was confused, since i got my serpentine belt replaced 5 months back and had a new battery installed a year back. had to drive back to original places i got the work done, wasting my day. misinformed and was being tricked into getting repairs. be careful consumers.

They do not know how to diagnose problems, had my car inspected and the recommendation i got from them was to go and see dealer!

Truly I was a little nervous after reading the reviews, but now Im sold on this location. The manager Ben and the tech George took great care of my wifes car. Got 4 new tires and an oIL change. They did show concern for our brakes and a fee other odds and enfs they were far from pushy or put off by our choice to tackle those issues another day. Well be back for service.Derek

I had the best experience with this particular PepBoys. Its was rainy and cold out. I was having some tire pressure issues. No one else in the area could help. Stopped at this location. Store manager Kevin Santilli was able to get me taken care of and back on the road. Very great customer Service.

Gave an 1 Hour estimate time for aliment, Im here for almost 2.5 hours, and they are still working on it. My plans are ruined because of that. Definitely need to improve your estimates.And yes, I was here 10 minutes before my appointment time, so no fault on my end.
