I went in to get a regular pedicure. Towards the end the manicurist seemed annoyed and to be slightly rushing. When i was done i sat under the dryer for about 4-5 rounds. So approx 20-25 min, because i didnt want to accidently mess my nails up driving. When i got home i looked at my toes and they were ruined. Bubbly and smeared onto other toes. It now had been about an hour since i paid/ left the shop. I touched a couple nails and they were still completely wet. I called the shop to tell them, there was a bit of run around to find who did my nails. I spoke to a young lady and she said she didnt do my nails. I then spoke to the manager again. He told me to come in the next day. He started to not take my name, but i request that he take it down. When i came in the next day, i spoke to the manager who then proceed to keep asking me who did my nails and search for her. 45 min later he finally finds the young lady. When she got done doing a set, she took me to the pedicure chairs. She then proceeded to tell me my toe nails messed up because i didnt get gel on my toe nails. Which i told her was not the reason they didnt dry/ messed up. It was because something was done wrong. She then tried to paint over top of the messed up nails. I stopped her and told her she needed to remove the messed up polish and redo them. She had a slight attitude, but she did it. When she finished i sat under the dry for 7 times. So there was no excuse for why they didnt dry.

Don’t go here.I started going here September 2020, the very first experience I had was with a young guy who snapped at me when I wanted a design. On multiple occasions I’ve had bumps and uneven polish. But today marks why I won’t come back. The manager who I believe is named Tom is very dismissive and rude. Yesterday for my birthday I went in for a fill with design and pedicure, spent $99. Not only was the design not what I asked for, the top coat was barely on and it left circle like marks around my nails. I arrived at 12:40 and left right before 2. I had birthday plans I was late for and couldn’t stay any longer than I already had. I came in today (the next day) to have it fixed and I don’t like the way I was treated. I’ve been consistently going here for a year and I always tip well. He removed my set and gave me a rough looking manicure, I honestly feel robbed. First pic is what I asked for, second and third is what I actually got. Final pic is what he did to fix the situation. I really think they could have done more, I’m disappointed.

I have always had a great experience. The nail techs are quick, efficient, and so friendly. I love the range of services they offer. The prices are great too

Nice atmosphere, Ive been going since I was a kid. Large space, theyre able to accommodate multiple people and have a wood plank they put between strangers having to sit next to you.The polish on my toes came off 3 days later. For getting gel, I hope for the polish to stay on until my next pedicure..Good ambiance and staff

I never really do reviews but I could not let this fly. My eyebrows are completely gone. I have been going here for years and decided to get my eyebrows done. Once she was finished she showed me but because I didn’t have my glasses on it was pretty much a quick glance. Once I was at the pay station I was decided to look and was completely shocked. She had waxed off pretty much my entire eyebrow and her response was “well you should’ve said something while in the wax room.” As if she could glue my eyebrows on or something. I can understand over waxing because it happens we’re human but to this extent was extreme. Some of the lady’s there are grey (Le for example, she did my nails and I was satisfied with my visit until the other lady did my eyebrows). I will attach before and after just so you can see the magnitude of the situation. My family and I will not return.

I got the Champagne Rose deluxe pedicure. It smells amazing and the massage was relaxing. But I wish the massage chairs were a little better. Or maybe it was just mine in particular. Anyway, great place! Fast-working staff. I would recommend making an appointment ahead of time rather than dropping in. Especially on the weekends.

Ive been going to Nail Luv for the 2yrs that Ive lived here in Virginia. The place is pretty phenomenal theyre also well staffed so on the busiest days your still covered with extremely well for done. All the girls do great nails, eyebrows and sooo much more. I personally have only ever naturally grown my nails and do a gel mani and gel pedi and the prices are super great and reasonable. So many girls and women go Ive known people who get acrylic nails and all the other stuff no problems at all. Always very clean and super nice. Thanks nail luv! ♡

This nail salon is very clean and pretty. The nail technicians know what they are doing. I came in with acrylic nails that were done at a different nail salon and I did not realize just how bad they looked until someone at Nail Luv fixed them. They also did my eye brows and they looked fantastic.

Very clean. Strict adherence to COVID-19 requirements: masks, washing hands upon entering, and every other station. Dana was excellent. I had a gel Manicure and brows. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I have found my new favorite nail salon.

Overpriced and unfriendly staff

Customer service was horrible, got a pedicure and the lady did not do all that came in they pedi. She had no idea what she was doing and I repeatedly had to tell her how to do things. The paint job was awful and the other lady who did my nails had no knowledge of what she was doing as well, my nails were put on sideways, I asked for a nude color and she told me she didnt know what that was, she walked away from her station several times. It was all around horrible. This is my second time visiting Newport News Va and that particular nail shop and I can definitely say I wont be back and the techs there need training. They are not nail techs

The woman that did my pedicure was amazing! But the woman that did my full set did a terrible job. My nails are crooked and uneven. I will not be going back mainly because of her.

They made my nail bleed and my nails were crooked. plus when they were taking off my old nails they literally ripped them off and didn’t soak them. it was very painful

The people were very nice. However, all of the price menu was wrong. They were very good with the kid mani/ pedi. However, we were way overcharged and they couldnt tell us why. They charged me for an additional person after I told them that person had already paid. It eventually dropped off my pending authorizations. They voided the whole transaction and recharged me. But it held up a good chunk of money until it dropped off. We upgraded our pedicures and didnt get a massage at all. For the kids pedicure chair it is very cute. For adults, I would definitely go somewhere else for a pedicure. I have had much better ones at Fancy Nails!

Im sick of this place. I spend way too much money for the service I receive. They advertise themselves as a luxary style nail spa but they are anything but that. On 3 seperate occasions the gel polish I got done has peeled off my nails. Went back and got it done over and the same thing happened. They rush you in and out. The guy that did my pedi and mani did a terrible job.Then when you tell them you dont like something they get an attitude. One time the nail tech left me sitting at the pedicure station for 30 minutes to go eat..she literally told me she was eating. I notice a huge diffrence in how they treat their black customer versus their white customers. Ive decided to find a new place to spend my money.

Good value for the price! I got a pedicure here and really enjoyed it. It included a leg scrub, hot towel, and polish. My one complaint is that the salon smelled strongly of nail polish like there was no ventilation inside. Besides this, I enjoyed my experience.

Had a manicure service but was not happy with the cleanliness. She brushed off my nails and her workstation with the same brush several times. I will keep going to Uptown Nails where all nail tools are Sanitized and wrapped for each customer.

The wife and daughter like it here. They say its cheap, quick, and efficient. I dont know about being cheap, as I spent $100 for a mani-pedi for the wife (gel), and an acrylic mani for the daughter. You judge for yourself. Hope this helps the next dad/hubby that has to deal with this!

Good luck getting a regular manicure here. I visited nail luv with friends for a birthday manicure. I purchased regular for myself because gel is too harsh on my nails; the nail tech said gel was better. I asked for a regular manicure and within 24 hours, the polish was literally flaking off and I lost an entire nail color on the floor. The nail tech rushed the entire manicure and applied the top coat as a base coat AND top coat. I reached out to the owner and said they cannot guarantee regular manicures and there are no refunds. I do understand policy being applied as necessary, however they should be able to guarantee polish quality more than 24 hours. Considering I am out of state and cannot get back I was hoping they would try to help. I think this is more a case of poor nail color application and not the type of manicure. I get regular manicures frequently and know they can last when done correctly.

First time at this salon and I’m so glad I went! Lena took such good care of me and was very transparent about the price and the whole process. She gave me her professional advice and did an amazing job! I’ve had a hard time finding a good nail spa that does SNS dip and it’s safe to say I found one! Lena is the best nail tech I’ve ever been to. She has a great positive attitude and a passion for what she does!

Excellent nail salon! Large place with plenty of seats for service. Beer and wine can be purchased to enjoy while you get your nails done as well. They also have a kids pedicure chair to spoil your little one if you like. Check them out!

Like many Asian salons, they treat clients of color coldly and will rush them out with a sloppy job. White clients are treated very nice and the workers love talking to them. If youre a colored individual avoid this salon. Save your money and go elsewhere or better yet learn how to do your own nails and save some serious cash.

I usually just go to Tina or David for full sets, fills, or gel manicures and come out pleased. I get pedicures here too and think that service is hit or miss depending on who you get. I can say Ive had more good pedicures than meh pedicures though. For the most part I am pleased that this is my nail home 😊 Ive recommended them to coworkers and friends.They stay busy so if you can book an appointment vs just walking in I would suggest that you do... but no weekend appointments. However, they have a lot of staff so if you do have to walk in I find that the wait is not terrible.

Was just in the Food Lion in Hidenwood Shopping Center and a lady from the Nail Luv & Spa was handing out face masks to people in the store. That was a very nice gesture and just wanted to say Thank You!

Let me start off by saying, I don’t write reviews. This is actually the first time I have ever written a review bad or good. The absolute worst nail place I have ever been to. This was my second time here, I came with a friend the first time and the first time was great. I drove 30 miles to come here to get my ombré filled with a particular color. The nail tech started out telling me they didn’t have the ombré color. I told her repeatedly that I got my nails done there two weeks ago. The nail tech would not do what I asked, I asked her to cut my nails down, she told me no then there wouldn’t be enough white. Okay, I was taken aback but I can live with a little longer nails than I like. I asked her if she was planning on filling in the white she told me no they don’t fill in the white on fills? At this point, my nails looked terrible and I was going to have to go somewhere else so I told her to stop. No sense in sitting there another 30 min. I told her I was going, I was trying to do the right thing and pay for the 5 minutes of work she did on my nails. She then proceeded to charge me full price. I paid, went to the car and thought about how terrible that was experience was. I went back In and spoke to the manager and he offered me a partial refund.. that they were running a service business. I told him exactly, and this is the worst service I have ever received. I get my nails done religiously every two weeks and have NEVER complained, or gotten up and left. Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever complained at any kind of service establishment before. WORST NAIL PLACE AND ESPECIALLY BUSINESS! BEWARE!!!!!!!

Get your nails done here before Friday through Sunday. During the week (Monday through Thursday) it’s an excellent experience, they do outstanding work on my nails.

First time coming here. Took my friend and I in as walk ins with no wait on a Sunday! Gets busy fast but very accommodating. I got a gel fill in and eyebrows wax. My friend got a pedicure and acrylic set for 100$. Will be back again!

At first this was the only place we would come to, but now they are completely unfriendly and i feel rushed every single time i come in. The only thing i am totally satisfied with is my eyebrows and i can go somewhere else for that. I know they get busy but that is no reason for sloppy service and to be rushed through your service! I got a gel manicure at another place that messed it up, overcharged and took way too long, another place I went to was just closed in the middle of the day during business hours. But this place was on point. Very busy yet there was no wait time, staff was super friendly and I was in and out with my nails looking great in not time! Highly recommend.

Went there to get a full set, and now my fingers are killing me. When I asked her to fix some of the nails because some were shorter than others, some rounded, some square, she told me I was wrong and that theyre fine. When I said I wasnt happy, no offer to fix them, no refunds allowed. Absolute worst service ever from the rudest people. Drive out of your way to find somewhere else

I have been to a variety of nail salons around Newport News and this is by far the best one I have been to. They always have a great customer service and have so many good technicians that I have never had to wait and always walk in. They always do an amazing polish job and the place is very clean and pretty. Highly recommend!

Very clean and nice on the inside. I got a deluxe pedicure and it was wonderful but I just got it yesterday and my polish is already chipping. On top of that I waited half an hour for them to actually start on my toes. They offer alot of services and I would be willing to go back to give them a second chance.

My nail color and shape came out pretty good but the lady didn’t even let me wash my hand when I asked !!! And she was very rude and wouldn’t even let me get them the length I wanted because she said I looked TOO YOUNG. I will never come back here . Also my cuticle was burning, I told the lady and all she aid was oookay just relax... and the prices are outrageous !!!!!!

I love this place! No joke this place is amazing they have massages to great eye brow waxing. They take there time with there nails and give u the best. I have never heard of anyones nail beds bleeding...... But I love this place if your close u should definitely try it out :)

They get over on ppl. I was charged 50$ for a full set for ombré pink and white set. The set was so thin i explained to the tech i do a lot of typing at work and if she would make them thicker she brushed the brush across them as if doing so not adding any more acrylic. My thumb nail snapped in half from opening a ice cream wrapper. I called and was told i still had to pay for the fix nail which i had no problem doing but i would also have to pay 45$ to have them make the nails thicker. So i refused they offered to take the nails off for 10$ but no one wanted to do it so i got up and left. No sense was made in this other than them doing thin nails on purpose so you can come back and they charge the most to fix them. Won’t be going back. First and last time.

We were rushed to the back and then my father had to have his feet in cold water for 30 minutes waiting for the one lady to do his pedicure. The manager came over and chewed the lady out in a different language and then another came over and have him a quick pedicure so we could get out faster. Not relaxing at all

This guy I believe named David did an awesome job. I had carpet catching heels lol. I had a great pedicure with a glass of wine and when it was time for my manicure, he recommended the dip powder nails and I love them. I have had acrylics forever and gel polish at times, I think this is my new favorite.

When I walked in I was immediately greeted, very short wait, and my nail tech Lena was very kind and it was fast, but efficient service. I will be going back, good first experience.

Every time I go to Nail Luv, Im treated with respect and focused attention. They make sure my nails (manicures and pedicures both) are exactly how I want them before I pay and leave. Ive been multiple times now, and will continue to return!

Never had any nails done in over 7 years-not even polish- but went in for the first time to get acrylics in celebration of a new job. The first time was ok. Went in for fills after 2 weeks and the lady (Lynne) kept getting angry with me, didnt want me to chose a color and kept sighing like she was angry at me for some reason. At some points I thought my nails looked dirty and even though I was unhappy I didnt want to make her anymore angry. She snatched her tip from me and left.Because of this experience, I went back to have my nails removed and the manager said he could do it so I was relieved at first. I dont have much experience with salons so when he ripped my acrylics off without any acetone using a fake nail I thought maybe it was ok even though it hurt. It ripped up the layers of all my nails and one still hurts all the timeHe also said to me that it was lucky I was getting them off now because there was fungus under one of the nails that would have gone unnoticed and eaten my nail bed-probably from the second fill. I had them for just over a month and have never suffered from that in my life. I felt like it was my fault for trying to get acrylics in the first place. My nails are still messed up and I have to be careful my index finger hurts so bad. Never again

The nail tech drops a bottle of nail polish top coat on the floor which splatters everywhere... After cleaning it up, she continues to polish my nails with her sticky hands....but wait... lets back the story up a little...after numerous request to re-do my nails because the polish was streaky...she trys to smooth it over by using the top coat....my nails are not long and after a fill and gel polish my total was $45...fast forward to arriving home and noticing the top coat polish had splattered all over my jeans....trip back to salon... where the owner brushes me off saying, wash the jeans. Itll come out. Btw. It didnt come out... No offer to refund me any amount of money or apologize....dont waste your time on an establishment that doesnt care about their clients. Nail salons are on every corner... Did I really have to even rate it a one star?

The nail salon appears very clean and neat. There was a large crowd but many staff there to accommodate. I waited for about 20 min. I got a manicure with gel polish. The manicure was not rushed, she did a good job. However, 4 days later my gel polish has little cracks throughout it which makes it look like they use polish thinner. Gel polish usually does not crack or chip for weeks. I have not done anything extensive to make the polish crack.

I love this place. I actually tried them one time when I was just visiting the area and needed a fill and I was very impressed. Very clean and you are overwhelmed with the usual smells associated with nail shops.Very spacious and updated equipment as well...I have recently relocated from the north to here and this is definitely my go to spot for some relaxing pampered days....They take pride in their work....

I am extremely unhappy after just getting my nails done today. I asked for the length to be taken down SLIGHTLY and she ended up completely cutting them off, each very very uneven. My thumbs are now even with the actual tip of my finger and look completely ridiculous. Mind you, I have been growing them out for about 5 months now and like my length medium-long. This is not the first time I have had problems here, just the first time Im pissed enough to call with a complaint and leave a review. I visit this shop regularly every 3 weeks but more than likely I will be searching for a new nail salon to visit soon.Updat #1: still no call from the salon and now my nails are peeling. I have been getting dip powder for months and have NEVER had any peeling.

I had a regular pedicure today. I was rushed out of there. The lady next to me was there before I sat down getting her pedicure. My pedicure was done and the lady was still sitting there. The nail polish on my toes look horrible and since I had glitter on my nails before, she used the electric nail file to remove the glitter leaving the skin around my toe nails peeled and super dry which they were not like that when I went in. I am going back to get it fixed because I paid for it but it will be my last time going there.

4/3/19 I was quickly reminded today why I havent been there in months. Again, in and out, as quickly as possible. Simple gel pedicure. My left foot soaked for maybe two minutes, tech (Luynh) was rough and when my pedicure was over I couldnt get my shoes on before she was changing the bowl liner and wrong water from around my feet. I politely excused myself and told her not to let me get in her way and left no tip. I will not return.10/18 I believe this is a decent place to get a gel manicure and pedicure; however, it has its flaws (cutting nails too short, nail color coverage, misshaped nails, etc.). When busy, I often feel as if Im just a number; in a hurry to get me in and get me out. Friendly staff. Its really hit or miss.

Asked for manicure and pedicure I looked online at price it said 32.00 when I checked out it was 50.00 at that time I was committed to pay thats all I had so no tip today. Last time I went I got my legs waxed and still had hair on my legs when I left should have gone back Also I asked them to use the grater but was told no now my feet are rough as hell will not go back at all. My fingernails are getting spots with no Polish coming off I will be going back tomorrow morning to get it fixed hopefully theyll do with they still need to do

I paid for the deluxe spa pedicure.. choose mint and lavender. .time from sitting in the chair to dryer was 20minutes. They rushed so fast we never felt the tingle of mint. They also failed to remove the dry skin from my heels. I complained to the manager to no avail. .I WILL NEVER come here again.

The salon is nice. They seem to specialize in gel manicures. But I just wanted a deluxe regular manicure. The massage they gave with it was ok, not great. The reason I only gave it 2 stars is due to the fact that the polish job they did was awful. Most places put a top coat on to prevent scratching and chipping of nails. The polish they put on me was so thick that hours later it was still not dry and I woke up the next morning to find scratches all over my nail. This was a special treat for me so I am really unhappy about this. They just need to add that special top coat and get rid of old polishes. I am sure they know this. I write this warn others who want a nice manicure. Go elsewhere unless you are getting gel or acrylic nails.

Ive been here twice with my husband for pedis. Both times I felt like my tech was rushing and he complained of them ignoring him when he had an issue with the water temp. My polish was chipping within a week both times (normally I can go 3-4 weeks with reg polish). Not terrible, but also not very relaxing experience and in my opinion a waste of my money because of how short the polish lasted.

Every time I go in I come out felling and look great. Perfect service every time.
